00:19And with your spirit.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy and the love of God.
00:25Loving God, you forgive our sins, Lord have mercy.
00:28Lord have mercy.
00:29You turn to good everything for those who love you.
00:31Christ have mercy.
00:32Christ have mercy.
00:33And you call us away from fear and confusion into love.
00:36Lord have mercy.
00:37Lord have mercy.
00:38May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:45Amen.
00:45Let us pray.
00:46Grant we pray Almighty God that we who have come to know the grace of the Lord's resurrection,
00:53made through the love of the Spirit, ourselves rise to newness of life through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
01:01who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
01:07Amen.
01:08A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
01:12Saul was still breathing threats to slaughter the Lord's disciples.
01:18He had gone to the high priest and asked for letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus
01:23that would authorize him to arrest and take to Jerusalem any followers of the way, men or women, that he
01:31would find.
01:34Suddenly, while he was traveling to Damascus, and just before he reached the city,
01:38there came a light from heaven all around him.
01:41He fell to the ground and then he heard a voice say,
01:45Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
01:49Who are you, Lord? he asked.
01:51And the voice answered, I am Jesus and you are persecuting me.
01:56Get up now and go into the city and you will be told what you have to do.
02:01The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless,
02:05for though they heard the voice, they could see no one.
02:09Saul got up from the ground, but even with his eyes wide open,
02:14he could see nothing at all.
02:16And they had to lead him into Damascus by the end.
02:20For three days he was without his sight and took neither food nor drink.
02:26A disciple called Ananias, who lived in Damascus,
02:31had a vision in which he heard, the Lord said to him,
02:35Ananias.
02:36When he replied, Here, Lord, here I am,
02:40the Lord said, You must go to Straight Street
02:43and ask for the house of Judas,
02:46for someone called Saul, who comes from Tarsus.
02:50At this moment he is praying,
02:52having had a vision of a man called Ananias,
02:55calling in, and laying hands on him,
02:59he gave him back his sight.
03:02When he heard that Ananias said,
03:05Lord, several people have told me about this man
03:08and all the harm he has been doing to your saints in Jerusalem.
03:12He has only come here because he holds a warrant
03:16from the chief priest to arrest everybody
03:19who invokes your name.
03:21The Lord replied,
03:22You must go all the same,
03:24because this man is my chosen instrument
03:27to bring my name before pagans and pagan kings
03:31and before the people of Israel.
03:33I myself will show him
03:35how much he himself must suffer for my name.
03:39Then Ananias went.
03:42He entered the house
03:43and at once laid his hands on Saul
03:46and he said,
03:47Brother Saul,
03:48I have been sent by the Lord Jesus
03:50who appeared to you on your way here
03:53so that you may recover your sight
03:55and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
03:58Immediately it was as though scales
04:00fell away from Saul's eyes
04:03and he could see again.
04:05So he was baptized there and then
04:07and after taking some food
04:09he regained his strength.
04:12After he had spent only a few days
04:14with the disciples in Damascus
04:17he began preaching in the synagogues.
04:19Jesus is the Son of God.
04:23The Word of the Lord.
04:26Thanks be to God.
04:30Alleluia.
04:31Alleluia.
04:32Oh, praise the Lord all your nations.
04:34Acclaim him all your peoples.
04:37Alleluia.
04:38Strong is his love for us.
04:40He is faithful forever.
04:42Alleluia.
04:46Alleluia.
04:46Alleluia.
04:47All who eat my flesh
04:48and drink my blood
04:50living me and I in them
04:52says the Lord.
04:54Alleluia.
04:56The Lord be with you.
04:57And with you still.
04:58A reading from the Holy Gospel
05:00according to John.
05:01Glory to you, O Lord.
05:03The Jewish people started arguing
05:05with one another.
05:05How can this man give us
05:07his flesh to eat?
05:08They said,
05:10Jesus replied,
05:11I tell you solemnly,
05:13if you do not eat the flesh
05:15of the Son of Man
05:16and drink his blood,
05:17you will not have life in you.
05:19Anyone who does eat my flesh
05:21and drink my blood
05:22has eternal life
05:24and I will raise them up
05:25on the last day.
05:27For my flesh is real food
05:29and my blood is real drink.
05:31The one who eats my flesh
05:33and drinks my blood
05:34lives in me
05:35and I live in them.
05:36As I,
05:37who am sent by the living Father,
05:39myself draw life
05:40from the Father,
05:42so whoever eats me
05:44will draw life from me.
05:46This is the bread
05:47come down from heaven.
05:48Not like the bread
05:50our ancestors ate.
05:51They are dead.
05:52But anyone who eats this bread
05:54will live forever.
05:56He taught this doctrine
05:58at Capernaum
05:59in the synagogue.
06:01The Gospel of the Lord.
06:03Praise to you,
06:04Lord Jesus Christ.
06:08Saul met Jesus
06:09and he turned his life
06:11upside down.
06:13And Jesus keeps on
06:14wanting to turn
06:15our life upside down.
06:18By this I mean
06:20that we don't just keep going
06:22how we are going.
06:22We are called to conversion.
06:24We are called to new life.
06:26And if Jesus does not
06:27make us uncomfortable,
06:29well we are probably
06:30not listening to him
06:31and justifying
06:32where we stay.
06:35Of course,
06:36the reason why he makes
06:37us uncomfortable
06:37is that we can wake up
06:39and truly see
06:40and truly hear
06:42and really listen
06:44and be led by the one
06:45who is the way,
06:46the truth and the life.
06:48And we are reminded of that
06:49of course in the Gospel
06:50that Jesus is our food.
06:53And exactly what we are doing
06:54now in the Eucharist
06:55is a great reminder
06:56that out there as well
06:58as in here,
06:59he is our nourishment
07:00and he is our food,
07:02our way,
07:03our truth,
07:04our life.
07:19Blessed are you,
07:20Lord God of all creation,
07:22for through your goodness
07:22we have this bread to offer,
07:24which earth has given
07:25human hands have made.
07:26It will become for us
07:28the bread of life.
07:29Blessed be God forever.
07:51Blessed are you,
07:52Lord God of all creation,
07:53for through your goodness
07:54we have this wine to offer,
07:56fruit of divine work
07:57of human hands.
07:58it will become
07:58our spiritual drink.
08:00Blessed be God forever.
08:07Let us pray,
08:08brothers and sisters,
08:08that my sacrifice
08:09and yours
08:10may be acceptable
08:11to God,
08:12our Almighty Father.
08:13May the Lord accept
08:15the sacrifice
08:15at our hands
08:16for the praise
08:17and glory of God's name,
08:19for our good
08:20and the good of God's
08:21Holy Church.
08:22Praise you to sanctify
08:23these gifts,
08:24O Lord, we pray,
08:25and accepting
08:26the oblation
08:27of this spiritual sacrifice.
08:29Make of us
08:30an eternal offering
08:31to you
08:31through Christ our Lord.
08:33Amen.
08:34The Lord be with you.
08:36And with your spirit.
08:37Lift up your hearts.
08:38Lift them up to the Lord.
08:39Let us give thanks
08:40to the Lord our God.
08:41It is truly right and just.
08:43It is truly right and just
08:44our duty
08:45and our salvation
08:46at all times
08:47to acclaim you,
08:48O Lord,
08:49but in this time
08:50above all
08:50to lord you
08:51yet more gloriously
08:52when Christ our Passover
08:54has been sacrificed.
08:56He never ceases
08:57to offer himself for us
08:58but defends us
09:00and ever pleads
09:01our cause before you.
09:02He is the sacrificial victim
09:04who dies no more,
09:06the lamb once slain
09:07who lives forever.
09:09Therefore,
09:10overcome with paschal joy,
09:12every land,
09:13every people
09:13exalts in your praise
09:15and even the heavenly powers
09:16with the angelic hosts.
09:18Sing together
09:19the unending hymn
09:20of your glory
09:21as with one voice
09:22they acclaim
09:24Holy,
09:25Holy,
09:26Holy,
09:26Holy Lord,
09:27God of hosts,
09:28heaven and earth
09:29are full of your glory.
09:31Hosanna in the highest.
09:33Blessed is he
09:34who comes
09:35in the name of the Lord.
09:37Hosanna in the highest.
09:39You are indeed holy,
09:40O Lord,
09:40the fount of all holiness.
09:42Make holy,
09:43therefore,
09:43these gifts,
09:44we pray,
09:45by sending down
09:46your spirit upon them
09:47like the dewfall
09:48so that they may become
09:49for us
09:50the body and blood
09:51of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:53At the time
09:54he was betrayed
09:55and entered willingly
09:56into his passion,
09:58he took bread
09:59and giving thanks
10:00broke it
10:01and gave it
10:02to his disciples
10:03saying,
10:04Take this all of you
10:05and eat of it
10:06for this is my body
10:08which will be given up
10:10for you.
10:14In a similar way
10:16when supper was ended
10:17he took the chalice
10:19and once more
10:20giving thanks
10:20he gave it
10:22to his disciples
10:23saying,
10:23Take this all of you
10:25and drink from it
10:26for this is the chalice
10:27of my blood,
10:29the blood of the new
10:30and eternal covenant
10:31which will be pulled out
10:34for you
10:34and for many
10:35for the forgiveness
10:36of sins.
10:38Do this
10:39in memory of me.
10:40Amen.
10:41Amen.
10:47The mystery of faith.
10:50Save us,
10:50Savior of the world
10:51for by your cross
10:53and resurrection
10:54you have set us free.
10:57Therefore,
10:57as we celebrate
10:58the memorial
10:59of this passion
11:00of his death
11:01and resurrection
11:02we offer you,
11:03Lord,
11:04the bread of life
11:05and the chalice
11:06of salvation
11:07giving thanks
11:08that you've held us
11:09worthy
11:09to be in your presence
11:11and ministered to you.
11:13Humbly we pray
11:14that partaking

11:15and blood of Christ
11:17we may be gathered
11:18into one
