00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Lord be with you.
00:18Dear brothers and sisters, as we gather on this Easter day, we celebrate the Feast of St. George,
00:24who is a martyr. In a special way, by celebrating this feast, let's pray for all of our brothers and
00:31sisters
00:31and their families who are connected with the Defense Forces to continue to pray for them,
00:36especially during this time. Also, to unite ourselves with the Holy Father in praying for peace in the world.
00:43Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
00:50You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
00:54Lord, have mercy. You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
00:58Christ, have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:04Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
01:11Amen.
01:12Let us pray.
01:15Extolling your might, O Lord, we humbly implore you,
01:17that as St. George imitated the passion of the Lord,
01:22so he may lend us ready help in our weakness.
01:25Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you,
01:29in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
01:32Amen.
01:35A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
01:52Now it happened that an Ethiopian had been on pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
01:57He was a eunuch and an officer at the court of the Kandake, or Queen of Ethiopia,
02:03and was in fact her chief treasurer.
02:07He was now on his way home,
02:09and as he sat in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
02:13The Spirit said to Philip,
02:15Go up and meet the chariot.
02:18When Philip ran up, he heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked,
02:22Do you understand what you are reading?
02:26How can I, he replied,
02:28unless I have someone to guide me.
02:30So he invited Philip to get in and sit by his side.
02:35Now the passage of scripture he was reading was this.
02:39Like a lamb, like a sheep that is led to the slaughterhouse,
02:43like a lamb that is dumb in front of its shearers,
02:46like these, he never opens his mouth.
02:50He has been humiliated and has no one to defend him.
02:54Who will ever talk about his descendants,
02:57since his life on earth has been cut short?
03:00The eunuch turned to Philip and said,
03:03Tell me, is the prophet referring to himself or someone else?
03:08Starting therefore with this text of scripture,
03:11Philip proceeded to explain the good news of Jesus to him.
03:16Further along the road they came to some water,
03:19and the eunuch said,
03:20Look, there is some water here.
03:23Is there anything to stop me being baptized?
03:26He ordered the chariot to stop.
03:29Then Philip and the eunuch both went down to the water,
03:32and Philip baptized him.
03:35But after they had come up out of the water again,
03:39Philip was taken away by the Spirit of the Lord,
03:42and the eunuch never saw him again,
03:45but went on his way rejoicing.
03:48Philip found that he had reached Azotus,
03:51and continued his journey proclaiming the good news
03:54in every town as far as Caesarea.
03:58The word of the Lord.
04:00Thanks be to God.
04:01The response is Alleluia.
04:03Alleluia.
04:04O peoples, bless our God.
04:06Let the voice of his praise resound,
04:08of the God who gave life to our souls,
04:10and kept our feet from stumbling.
04:13Alleluia.
04:14Come and hear, all who fear God.
04:16I will tell what he did for my soul.
04:19To him I cried aloud,
04:20with high praise ready on my tongue.
04:23Alleluia.
04:24Blessed be God,
04:25who did not project my prayer,
04:27nor withhold his love from me.
04:30Alleluia.
04:33Alleluia, alleluia.
04:35I am the living bread from heaven,
04:36says the Lord.
04:37Whoever eats this bread will live forever.
04:41Alleluia.
04:42The Lord be with you.
04:44And with your spirit.
04:45A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:48Glory to you, O Lord.
04:50Jesus said to the crowd,
04:52No one can come to me
04:53unless he is drawn by the Father who sent me,
04:57and I will raise him up at the last day.
05:00It is written in the prophets,
05:03They will all be taught by God.
05:05And to hear the teaching of the Father and learn from it
05:08is to come to me.
05:11Not that anybody has seen the Father
05:13except the one who comes from God.
05:15He has seen the Father.
05:18I tell you most solemnly,
05:20everybody who believes has eternal life.
05:23I am the bread of life.
05:26Your fathers ate the manna in the desert,
05:29and they are dead.
05:30But this is the bread that comes down from heaven,
05:33so that a man may eat it and not die.
05:37I am the living bread,
05:39which has come down from heaven.
05:41Anyone who eats this bread will live forever.
05:45And the bread that I shall give is my flesh
05:47for the life of the world.
05:50The Gospel of the Lord.
05:52Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:10Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:12for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
06:16Fruit of the earth and work of human hands,
06:18it will become for us the bread of life.
06:20Blessed be God forever.
06:33Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:36for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
06:39Fruit of the vine and work of human hands,
06:41it will become for us our spiritual drink.
06:44Blessed be God forever.
06:53Pray, brothers and sisters,
06:54that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
06:57the Almighty Father.
06:58May the Lord accept this sacrifice at your hands
07:01for the praise and glory of his name,
07:04for our good and the good of all his holy children.
07:06Receive, we pray, O Lord,
07:08the sacrifice of conciliation and praise,
07:10which we offer to your majesty
07:12in commemoration of the blessed martyr George,
07:15that it may lead us to obtain pardon
07:17and confirm us in perpetual thanksgiving
07:20through Christ our Lord.
07:22Amen.
07:23The Lord be with you.
07:24And with your spirit.
07:25Lift up your hearts.
07:26We lift them up to the Lord.
07:27Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:29It is right and just.
07:31It is truly right and just,
07:32our duty and our salvation,
07:34always and everywhere to give you thanks,
07:37Lord, Holy Father,
07:38Almighty and Eternal God.
07:40For the blood of your blessed martyr George,
07:43poured out like Christ's to glorify your name,
07:46chose forth your marvelous works,
07:48by which in our weakness you perfect your power,
07:51and on the feeble bestow strength to bear your witness
07:54through Christ our Lord.
07:56And so, with the powers of heaven,
07:58we worship you constantly on earth,
08:00and before your majesty without end,
08:03we acclaim,
08:04Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
08:08heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:11Hosanna in the highest.
08:13Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:16Hosanna in the highest.
08:19You are indeed holy, O Lord,
08:21the fount of all holiness.
08:23Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
08:25by sending down your spirit upon them like the doofo,
08:29so that they may become for us
08:30the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:34At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly
08:37into his passion, he took bread,
08:39and giving thanks, broke it,
08:42and gave it to his disciples, saying,
08:44Take this all of you and eat of it,
08:48for this is my body,
08:50which will be given up for you.
09:10In a similar way, when supper was ended,
09:13he took the chalice,
09:14and once more giving thanks,
09:16he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:19Take this all of you and drink from it,
09:22for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:24the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
09:27which will be poured out for you and for many
09:30for the forgiveness of sins.
09:32Do this in memory of me.
09:50The mystery of faith.
09:53When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
09:56we proclaim your death, O Lord,
09:58until you come again.
10:00Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
10:02of his death and resurrection,
10:03we offer you, Lord,
10:05the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:08giving thanks that you have held us worthy
10:10to be in your presence
10:11and minister to you.
10:13Humbly we pray,
10:15that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:17we may be gathered into one
10:19by the Holy Spirit.
10:21Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world
10:24and bring her to the fullness of charity,
10:26together with Leo our Pope
10:28and Charles our Bishop and all the clergy.
10:31Remember also our brothers and sisters,
10:33who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
10:36and all who have died in your mercy.
10:38Welcome them into the light of your face.
10:41Have mercy on us all,
10:43we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
10:45Mother of God,
10:46with blessed Joseph, her spouse,
10:48with the blessed apostles and all the saints,
10:50who have pleased you throughout the ages,
10:53we may marry to be co-heirs to eternal life
10:55and may praise and glorify you through your Son,
10:58Jesus Christ.
11:00Through him and with him and in him,
11:03O God, almighty Father,
11:05in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:07all glory and honor is yours,
11:10forever and ever.
11:12Amen.
11:14At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching,
11:17we dare to say,
11:18Our Father who art in heaven,
11:21hallowed be thy name.
11:23Thy kingdom come,
11:25thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11:28Give us this day our daily bread
11:30and forgive us our trespasses
11:32as we forgive those who trespass against us.
11:36And lead us not into temptation,
11:39but deliver us from evil.
11:41Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
11:42from every evil,
11:43graciously grant peace in our days,
11:46that by the help of your mercy,
11:47we may be always free from sin
11:50and safe from all distress
11:52as we await the blessed hope
11:54and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
11:57For the kingdom, the power,
11:58and the glory are yours,
11:59now and forever.
12:00Lord Jesus Christ,
12:01who said to your apostles,
12:03Peace I leave you,
12:04my peace I give you.
12:05Look not on our sins,
12:07but on the faith of your church.
12:08Then graciously grant her peace and unity
12:11in accordance with your will,
12:12who live and reign forever and ever.
12:15Amen.
12:15The peace of the Lord be with you always.
12:17And with your spirit.
12:18Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
12:20Peace be with you.
12:21Peace to you at home.
12:28Lamb of God,
12:29you take away the sins of the world.
12:31Have mercy on us.
12:33Lamb of God,
12:34you take away the sins of the world.
12:36Have mercy on us.
12:38Lamb of God,
12:39you take away the sins of the world.
12:41Grant us peace.
12:57Behold the Lamb of God,
12:59behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
13:02Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:05Lord,
13:06I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
13:09but only say the word,
13:11and my soul shall be healed.
13:14My Jesus,
13:15I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
13:19I love you above all things,
13:20and I desire to receive you into my soul.
13:23Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
13:27come at least spiritually into my heart.
13:29I embrace you as if you were already there,
13:32and unite myself wholly to you.
13:35Never permit me to be separated from you.
13:38Amen.
13:40Let us pray.
13:43We have received your heavenly gifts,
13:46rejoicing at this feast day, O Lord.
13:49Grant we pray that we who in this divine banquet
13:52proclaim the death of your Son,
13:54may merit to be partakers with the holy martyrs
13:57in his resurrection and his glory,
14:00who lives and reigns forever and ever.
14:03Amen.
14:04Friends,
