Edda doesn’t just want to race. She has to race, because her dad, Erwin, runs the kind of year-round hustle that does not do well when bills start stacking up. Then the 50th anniversary of the „Grand Prix of Europe“ shows up like a miracle. Or at least like a very loud opportunity.

Here’s the catch: Edda gets close to her hero, Ed, but the moment she’s in the driver's seat, it stops being a fan moment and turns into real competition. Sabotage from a rival? Sure. Pressure? Absolutely. The film’s whole pitch is basically this: even the smallest racer can crash the big leagues… if she can dodge the mess everyone else is throwing at her.

Edda ist nicht nur eine Maus mit großem Traum. Sie ist die Tochter vom Jahrmarktbetreiber Erwin und soll zum 50. Jubiläum vom „Grand Prix of Europe“ plötzlich doch nicht nur zuschauen, sondern selbst ans Steuer. Ihr Plan klingt wie Märchen. Leider ist es Motorsport, also ist der Alltag schnell dreckig, die Konkurrenz noch dreckiger und irgendwo steckt sogar Sabotage im Getriebe.

Und dann gibt es da noch Ed, ihr Idol. Natürlich will Edda Ed kennenlernen. Natürlich hilft sie dabei ihrem Vater, dessen Jahrmarktgeschäft gerade ziemlich wackelt. Ob das mit Rennen, Tricks und einem Rivalen klappt? Na, wir werden sehen. Ein bisschen absurd. Genau deswegen macht’s Spaß.
