Southern California is doing its usual end-of-summer thing: wildfire chaos, panic reports, and the news acting like Los Angeles is already burning in slow motion. While everyone’s focused on the advancing fire, the Hollywood Hills have another fun house problem. Caught off guard, Chloe spots multiple coyotes in the garden and calls her parents, Scott and Liv.

Scott’s plan is classic: scare them off. Unfortunately, these “coyotes” look less like neighborhood wildlife and more like wolf-adjacent nightmares. They’re big, fast, and aggressively uninterested in leaving anyone alive to talk about it.

So the family seals themselves inside. You’d think locked doors and windows would help. They don’t. The movie turns survival into a very cramped waiting game where the clock is already ticking and help from the overwhelmed security forces is not exactly on the way. Coyotes plus wildfire equals a bad day that refuses to end.

Die Südkalifornien-Sommerzeit bringt nicht nur Hitze. Dieses Jahr auch Waldbrände, die in den Nachrichten klingen wie ein Countdown auf Los Angeles. Während die Leute draußen schon panisch reagieren, sind die Hollywood Hills für ein anderes Problem bekanntlich auch nicht gerüstet: Kojoten. Chloe entdeckt im Garten mehrere Tiere. Eltern Scott und Liv sind kurz davor, das mit “wegjagen” zu lösen. Spoiler: Die Dinger sind größer, als sie sein sollten, und ziemlich angriffslustig, als wären sie im Fitnessstudio trainiert worden.

Also ab ins Haus, Türen zu. Problem: Geschlossen ist hier offenbar nur ein Lifestyle-Choice. Die Familie hängt fest zwischen Feuer und Wolfs-Optik aus dem Park. Und ja, die Sicherheitskräfte sind wegen der Brände so überfordert, dass man erstmal selbst improvisieren muss.
