00:00Forget the scary headlines.
00:02Nilongwe's Gen Z isn't waiting for life to get easier.
00:05We're skating, racing, and flipping our way through the chaos.
00:08This city's hustle hits hard, but we hit back louder.
00:12I'm Zaheer, and today I'm swapping out the designer gear for some adrenaline.
00:17They say the economy is a roller coaster, so I figured, why not get an actual one?
00:22You're going to want to stick around for this one.
00:28First stop, the Nyasa Skate Hive, founded in 2002 by Calvin Kajingwe.
00:33It's not just flips and tricks.
00:35It's actually a movement that promotes a community that welcomes BMX, scooter riders, and also skate riders.
00:42Skating isn't just a vibe.
00:44It's a full body aerobic workout that sharpens your balance.
00:47For us, every lap is a strike against stress.
00:50At the Hive, you don't skate alone.
00:52Every wobble gets a tear.
00:54Every fall gets a hand.
00:56In a country where economy feels shaky, finding your balance literally hits different.
01:02It's community therapy on wheels.
01:05And if two wheels are too slow for you, how about four with an engine?
01:09Hello.
01:10How are you?
01:11I'm good.
01:12How are you?
01:13Go-karting is the new heart rate hero of Nilongwe.
01:24This is a massive core and arm workout.
01:27It burns up to 600 calories an hour while flooding the brain with dopamine.
01:32It's the ultimate haze clearer.
01:34However, there's this moment after the first turn where your brain stops thinking about bills,
01:39responsibilities, or long way traffic.
01:42Your whole nervous system goes into pure don't crash clarity.
01:46And that's the kind of escape Gen Z's live for.
01:56Next up, the adventure I was looking the least forward to.
02:04They told me to reach for the stars, but I didn't think they meant literally throwing me at them.
02:09My stomach is currently Lake Malawi, but my soul, my soul is flying high.
02:18These rides flip your stomach and your mood.
02:21That flight or flight kick that gives you a clean adrenaline rush that snaps your mind right awake.
02:27These rides hijack your whole nervous system.
02:30For 20 seconds, you're basically a screaming physics experiment.
02:33And then suddenly, life's chaos feels lighter.
02:36You scream it out and somehow, you reset.
02:47Time to defy gravity and my own doubts.
02:51One jump at a time.
02:56Jumping is basically high intensity interval training disguised as fun.
03:00It strengthens the core and improves lymphatic drainage.
03:03Although I provided a pure joy of flight.
03:13Adulting is heavy.
03:15But for one second mid-air, you're 12 again.
03:18Weightless, careless, loud, and alive.
03:24Kinda stuck.
03:35After all that flying, it's time to ground myself.
03:38They always say, take the high road.
03:40And with this view through the trees, I'm tempted to never come down the pavement again.
03:45Malawi's national sport is walking.
03:48And a walk up here on the boardwalk really resets everything.
03:52Because that's the kind of quiet that actually clears your head.
03:56This is amazing!
04:01Lilongwe isn't just a capital.
04:03It is on track to become an African adventure capital.
04:05These spots show that Malawians aren't their challenges.
04:09We're resilient, creative, and we're on our way up.
04:13Well, I ajustee goes the road to the corridor.
04:17It's cannot see it controversies.
04:17We're non Kim H Nico.
04:18Jill James is walking here.
04:18Of course.
04:19There's a pure set of fire in our air with an air.
04:19If you don't even see the sun in our air, there's a mean custom life.
04:19There's a mirror in your feet to the mountain to go!
04:20So what?
04:20So what do I get to get to see the sunset in the air?
04:23It's about 6 inch distance.
04:23So what do you hide them?
04:23You
