00:00My name is Tan. My pronouns are they and he, and currently I'm feeling like I'm resting in my rage.
00:05And if you're not giving us a fighting chance, then we have to believe that you are malicious.
00:10Even if we don't want to believe you.
00:21I attend maybe six calls a day of people crying, wanting to kill themselves.
00:29Not knowing what to do. Wanting to rush to the courts.
00:34There's a lot of fear. There's a lot of anger. There's a lot of despair.
00:39There's a lot of hurt. And there's a lot of confusion.
00:59So, a law came in. And it essentially finally recognized trans people. And the law said genderqueer. It said genderqueer.
01:08And when I read that I was so happy.
01:10Because, you know, binary trans identities are still relatively easier to understand for people.
01:16As a non-binary person, it is a struggle.
01:19This act or this law has essentially stolen that from us.
01:24And if you are doing any of these gender-affirmative medical procedures, the doctor who's providing you this care is
01:32legally mandated to inform the district magistrate who is the granting authority for your transgender identity cards.
01:39Why should they know what I'm doing with my body?
01:52So, when you do crisis intervention work, very often young people, maybe like 18, 19, 20, will call you and
01:59talk about how their families are being violent, how they're being forced into conversion therapy, how there's electric shock therapy
02:06happening to them.
02:06When we've done this work in the past, we have had parents who have tried to file complaints against us.
02:12Saying that, you know, we've manipulated their children.
02:16And that's exactly what this 26 Act has done.
02:19Every time I help a young person understand whether they are trans or not trans, which is a journey I
02:25went through, I can go to jail for that.
02:44I will fight.
02:46I will fight.
02:47Because as marginalized peoples, we have no other option but to fight.
02:52We were always here.
02:54And you're going to have to take the act back.
02:56Today or tomorrow, it's going down.
