00:05This is all about restoring justice back for the Lovell family and for victims in Queensland.
00:12The 17-year-old who killed Lee Lovell's wife Emma during a violent home invasion on Boxing Day 2022
00:18had been expected to serve 70% of a 14-year sentence.
00:23But on appeal last August, a Queensland court reduced that to 60%.
00:28I suppose I was quite shocked really.
00:31I didn't think it was fair that the defendant was allowed to appeal and I wasn't.

00:49The Appeal Court found the jail term was excessive, taking into account the killer's plea of guilty.
00:55The Lovell family and supporters now face a wait of up to three months to hear if the High Court
01:01agrees.
