When Wanda and Tim are delivering honey from Tim's grandfather's bee farm, they encounter a bee flying around them, causing their cart to tip over, all of the jars to fall and break, and the honey to flow down the storm drain. Desperate to replace the ruined honey, the Friz’s class learns about the life cycle of honeybees to make more. When they accidentally lead a bear to the hive, they end up having to help the honeybees replace their lost supply of food as well as replacing Wanda's and Tim's merchandise. In the end, a customer tells them that the honey they made is the best-tasting yet.

00:53Step inside, it's a wild ride.
00:56Come on!
00:57Right on the magic scuba.
01:12Okay Tim, delivering papers, I understand.
01:15But honey?
01:16What can I say Wanda?
01:19I've been delivering honey for my grandpa's beef farm all summer.
01:22I just needed help this morning cause the load's so big.
01:25But if you don't want to split the four dollar delivery fee.
01:28Hey, I'm happy to help.
01:30But how come everybody orders so much honey all of a sudden?
01:35Well, it's the last delivery of the year.
01:37And grandpa's customers want to stock up for the winter.
01:40Take two.
01:41Why?
01:42Doesn't your grandpa have honey to sell in the winter time?
01:45No.
01:45I just don't think he likes cold weather.
01:48I don't blame him.
01:50I hate the cold.
01:51Then you'd better get out your long underwear because there's going to be a big frost tonight.
02:00How many more houses to go?
02:02Hey!
02:03And we better get moving cause...
02:05Yikes!
02:06A bee!
02:07Watch out!
02:08Yeah!
02:10Ah!
02:11Ah!
02:13Ah!
02:16Oh no!
02:19All that honey down the drain!
02:21What are we going to do?
02:22What are we going to do?
02:23What are we going to do?
02:26So you know what we're going to do?
02:28We're going to convince Miss Fizzle to take us to my grandpa's beef farm.
02:31I've got to get more honey!
02:38I'm alive, class!
02:40Miss Fizzle!
02:42Did somebody call me honey?
02:44Not me, Miss Fizzle!
02:45Uh-uh!
02:46No way!
02:46Doesn't she ever come in the door?
02:49Um...
02:50Actually...
02:51We were talking about going to my grandpa's beef farm to get more honey from Miss Bees
02:55because the jar's broken and the honey went down the drain.
02:58Miss Fizzle?
03:00Um...
03:00I don't think it's right to just go and take honey from the bees.
03:04But Phoebe, if you don't take it from the bees, where are we supposed to get it?
03:08I don't know!
03:10But we can't take it from the bees!
03:12Of course we can!
03:14That's why they make it!
03:15So we can take it!
03:16And what makes you so sure?
03:19To take honey from bees or not to take honey from bees?
03:24That is the question.
03:26So what's the answer, Miss Fizzle?
03:30A honey and we will go!
03:32A honey and we will go!
03:35Hypo the Dario!
03:36A honey and we will go!
03:41Don't you just love it when you get that little nip in the air?
03:45No doubt about it! Winter is on its way!
03:48The farmers are harvesting the last of the corn before tonight's frost!
03:55The cold must be catching! Even the squirrels are going nuts!
03:59And today is our last chance this year to see all these beautiful flowers before the cold finishes them off!
04:08Miss Fizzle, wait! This isn't the way to my grandpa's bee farm!
04:13Who said anything about going to your grandpa's bee farm?
04:17I knew it! This is a field trip!
04:21That's right, Arnold! A trip to a field! Isn't it beautiful?
04:30It's great, Miss Fizzle! But why stop to look at flowers when what we need is honey?
04:35Yikes! Another bee!
04:37And a honey of a bee it is, too!
04:40Wait a minute, Tim! Where there's a honey bee, there's bound to be a hive!
04:45You're right! And where there's a beehive, there's bound to be honey! Follow that bee!
04:50Single file, please!
04:51Single file, please!
04:56Whoa!
05:00Where'd it go?
05:01Where's the bee?
05:03We lost it!
05:08All aboard the Bee Line Express!
05:22Time to buzz off, bus!
05:26I don't see that bee anywhere! Now how are we gonna find the hive?
05:32Listen! It sounds like a lot of bees!
05:36It's getting louder!
05:39Hive at five! Hive at five!
05:51Hold it!
05:52Ugh!
05:54Oof!
05:54Tim, you've gotta stop doing that!
05:57Look! There's the hive!
06:00Awesome!
06:01Worrisome!
06:02There must be a gazillion bees in there!
06:05And a ton of honey!
06:07Even if we could get it out, we can't take honey from that hive!
06:12It belongs to the bees!
06:13But what good is it doing the bees, Phoebe?
06:16I don't know!
06:17But they must use it for something, or else why would they make it?
06:21If we got closer, we could look inside and find out!
06:25Dorothy Ann! Do the words,
06:27Honey I Stunned the Kids mean anything to you?
06:30All right, you Weasley wimps!
06:33I'll go!
06:36Wow!
06:38Check this out!
06:39It's like a factory in here!
06:41They're busy as bees!
06:42Tell them to take a lunch break so we can get the honey!
06:46Oh, no!
06:47We're under attack!
06:49Back to the bus!
06:52Oh, but it's the perfect time to study bee behavior!
06:57We need to get that honey!
07:00Too bad we're not one of those bees!
07:02Then they'd leave us alone!
07:04Dynamic deduction!
07:06Wanda, quick!
07:07Take it back!
07:08Oh, be calm, Arnold!
07:10Wanda's made a most bee fitting suggestion!
07:13I knew I should have stayed home today!
07:15Go on, Liz!
07:16Do your beeswax!
07:26Hey, look!
07:27We're bees!
07:29Yeah!
07:30And you're a fee bee!
07:32Haha!
07:33And you're a frisbee!
07:34Ha ha ha ha ha!
07:36Ha ha ha ha!
07:37Come on, everyone!
07:39It's time to take chances!
07:40Make mistakes!
07:41And get stung!
07:43I'm not going!
07:44Chill, Arnold!
07:45It's perfectly safe!
07:47We're wanna done now!
07:48Well, not yet, you're not!
07:51Hit it, Liz!
07:59Hey, what is this stuff?
08:01That's a cute smell!
08:02Yuck!
08:02I'm soaked!
08:03It's eau de hive!
08:04A pheromone, actually!
08:06Now we not only look like bees, we smell like bees!
08:11Hold down the bus, Liz!
08:13We're going in!
08:14To the hive!
08:17Watch out!
08:26Let's get out of here!
08:30Wow, those pheromones really worked!
08:33They thought we were bees from their hive and passed us by!
08:37Come on!
08:42Hey, I made it through alive!
08:45You're an unstung hero, Arnold!
08:49This is incredible!
08:51There's a zillion bees crawling all over!
08:54Where's the honey?
09:01Um, hello!
09:04Uh, what does he want me to do?
09:07Actually, it's not a he, Ralphie.
09:10All the worker bees in here are she's.
09:13Maybe she wants to be your honey.
09:16Carlos!
09:17She's sharing her food with you, Ralphie.
09:20In a hive, it's one for all and all for one.
09:24If you say so, Miss Frizzle.
09:31Hey!
09:32This stuff is terrific!
09:34It's sweet and delicious!
09:36What's Ralphie doing?
09:38According to my research, every bee has a proboscis.
09:41It's kind of like a tongue that they use to gather food and share with one another.
09:45Yum!
09:46What is it?
09:47Where'd they get it?
09:49Hey!
09:50I bet it's flower nectar!
09:52Remember back when we went inside the flower in Mr. Seedplot's garden?
09:56And we saw the bees drinking up all the nectar?
09:59So is that nectar they're up chucking into these honeycomb cells?
10:03Hmm, taste it and see!
10:07It is nectar!
10:09There may be nectar in that cell.
10:12But there's honey in this one!
10:15Mmm!
10:17So where does the honey come from?
10:19Look at this!
10:21It looks like these bees are stirring the nectar!
10:24And these bees are fanning the cells with their wings!
10:28Nectar's thin and watery, right?
10:31Mmm!
10:32But honey is thick and syrupy!
10:35Well, maybe the bees fan and stir the nectar to evaporate the water.
10:39That would make it thicker, wouldn't it?
10:41Bee's eye, Tim!
10:43Honey is made from thickened nectar.
10:46But nectar is seriously yummy as it is!
10:48Why turn it into honey?
10:49I bet it lasts longer when it's thicker!
10:52Like my grandma's strawberry preserves!
10:57Yum!
10:58Oh, a bee-dazzling process, isn't it?
11:02So, to replace Grandpa's honey that went down the drain,
11:05all we have to do is take this honey and...
11:07Tim, I don't think the bees want us to take their honey!
11:10They're plugging out the cells!
11:13And look!
11:14This bee is mixing honey with that orange stuff and feeding it to the larva!
11:19You see, Tim, they do need the honey!
11:21They don't make it for us!
11:23They make it for themselves and their babies!
11:27And if we take it, they'd have to make more!
11:30Which would be okay, except that after tonight's frost, the flowers will be gone!
11:35You're right, Wanda!
11:37No more flowers, no more nectar, no more honey!
11:41If we take their honey, these bees won't make it through the winter!
11:45So, as my great-aunt Beatrice used to say,
11:49it behooves you to behave like the bees!
11:52You mean, make our own honey!
11:55Why not?
11:56We'll collect some delicious nectar,
11:58uptuck it into a honeycomb,
12:00stir it to help it thicken,
12:02and when it turns into honey, we're in bees-ness!
12:06All we need to do is find some flowers!
12:09Can we do it in time?
12:10We won't know until we try!
12:12Let's jive out of this hive!
12:16There's some flowers over there!
12:20Yahoo!
12:25Hey, what's the deal? No nectar!
12:29The bees must have already sucked these flowers dry!
12:33And a good thing, too!
12:35Soon it'll be bye-bye flowers, until next spring!
12:39We've got to find some flowers that still have nectar, and fast!
12:42Okay, let's split up!
12:44We can cover more ground!
12:46Good idea!
12:49Come on, Liz!
12:51We need all the help we can get!
12:53It's time to go bee-zerk!
13:02Nectar hole!
13:10We're too late!
13:11These flowers have had it!
13:14Keep looking!
13:18Aw, nuts!
13:20Not a drop of nectar left here, either!
13:22How do bees do this, anyway?
13:25You'd think making the honey was the hard part,
13:27but finding the nectar to make it with is even harder!
13:30Come on, let's look somewhere else!
13:34There aren't any flowers anywhere!
13:37We need more time!
13:39Unfortunately, Jack Frost waits for no one!
13:43Wait, I smell something!
13:46Flowers!
13:47Fresh flowers!
13:49Ah, you bet you're beepy!
13:53Goldenrod, if I'm not mistaken!
13:55This way!
14:01Nectar City!
14:02Start gathering!
14:04I sure hope the others find this field!
14:07This nectar's great!
14:09But we'll never be able to carry it back all on our own!
14:12We need help!
14:14There's no time to lose!
14:16Miss Frizzle, we've got to tell the others where the nectar is!
14:18I think that could be arranged!
14:26That lizard's got a bee in her bonnet!
14:31Did you find any nectar?
14:33Not one drop!
14:35Same here!
14:38Huh?
14:38Is it just me?
14:40Or is Liz trying to tell us something?
14:42I think she's found nectar!
14:44Over there!
14:50Phew!
14:52I'm full!
14:53And there's still tons of nectar left!
14:58Not for long!
14:59Health is on the way!
15:04Tank up our nectar, guys!
15:05Then head back to the hive!
15:07See you soon!
15:18Oh, come on, Liz!
15:20We don't want to fall behind!
15:24All set, everyone?
15:27Here we go!
15:29Oh!
15:32Oh!
15:33Oh!
15:34Oh!
15:34Oh!
15:35Oh!
15:35Oh!
15:38Oh!
15:38Oh!
15:38Oh!
15:39Oh!
15:39Oh!
15:47Oh!
15:53Oh!
15:55Oh!
15:57Yes!
15:58I do believe it's an Ursus Americanus!
16:02A bear?
16:03Step on it, Liz!
16:05Oh!
16:05Oh!
16:10Yay, Liz!
16:12Come on, the high's not far now.
16:20This way.
16:24Come on, boss. You can do it.
16:28Yay! We made it!
16:34Are you all right, Liz?
16:36Hey, what happened to all our nectar?
16:39You mean all that work and we only filled a few honeycomb cells?
16:44This honey-making business is harder than it looks.
16:47We've got to keep going back and forth until we've got enough. Come on!
16:55Liz, get out of here!
16:57He's wrecking the place!
17:04Oh, bad! Oh, bad! Oh, bad, bad, bad!
17:14The bees scared him away!
17:16They made him run!
17:19Man, what a disaster! All the honey is gone!
17:23The bees won't have enough food to last through the winter!
17:28They'll starve!
17:29And it's all our fault!
17:31It was because of us that the bear found the hive!
17:35Wait! We can help them!
17:37We know where there's lots of delicious nectar, remember?
17:40Yeah, but how do we tell them?
17:43Beauty of a question, Tim!
17:45How would you communicate with a bee?
17:48Sting it a song?
17:49Press a buzzer?
17:51Drop it a bee line?
17:52Well, I'm not sure.
17:55Since they don't understand words,
17:56maybe we could use some kind of sign language.
17:59Let's take chances!
18:01Make mistakes!
18:03Get bus-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s!
18:09Hey, guys!
18:10I've got something for you!
18:12Delicious nectar!
18:14Yum-yum!
18:15This way!
18:16They don't get it, Tim!
18:17Come on, bees!
18:19Listen up!
18:20This is vital information!
18:22Flowers!
18:23Lots of them!
18:25Nectar!
18:26Big meadow!
18:27Far away!
18:29Oh, how am I ever going to make them understand?
18:33Wait, Tim!
18:34You've got their attention!
18:36It's like they're waiting for you to do something!
18:38Yeah, but...
18:40What?
18:41Too bad I don't have a book on bee communication!
18:45But I do!
18:47Pass me my Buzzbee Bubbles bee dances for beginners, Liz!
18:51Dances?
18:52You mean bees communicate by dancing?
18:54You better bee leave it!
18:57I hope this works!
18:59Let's see...
19:00To tell the bees they have to fly a long way, I have to...
19:08And to tell them which way to fly, it looks like I'm supposed to...
19:13It's working!
19:15The bees are catching on!
19:17They're really bee-bopping!
19:19Carlos!
19:20It's the bees' knees, all right!
19:23Let me try, Tim!
19:28I think they've got it!
19:30Why, Buzz, I had no idea you were so graceful!
19:33Do you, Dip?
19:36Do you think they understand?
19:38Let's hope so!
19:39If they don't find those flowers before the frost, they're gonna be goners!
19:43They're going!
19:45They got the message!
19:47Oh, I hope we gave them the right directions!
19:50There's only one way to find out for sure!
19:57It worked!
19:58We danced the directions to the bees, and they got it!
20:02They got it, all right!
20:04Look at them go!
20:05Yeah, but will they be able to get enough nectar?
20:09We sure didn't!
20:10There were only ten of us, Arnold!
20:12There's thousands of bees working out here!
20:15You can't feed it, Arn!
20:18All it takes to bring in the harvest of nectar just in time is a little bee dance and a
20:22lot of bees!
20:25And a lot of bees means a lot of nectar, which means a lot of honey!
20:31We did it!
20:32We helped save the hive!
20:34Yay!
20:36Come on, let's help them draw out the nectar!
20:38Go, go, go, guys! Feed those wings!
20:42I'll tell you this, for someone who was afraid of bees, I've sure become a fan!
20:48Arnold!
20:50Well, it looks like the bees are gonna be able to make enough honey to last for the winter!
20:54But what about the honey to finish up your grandpa's deliveries?
20:57Well, I don't know!
21:00Even if we could collect enough nectar, how could we possibly turn it into honey and get it home in
21:05time?
21:06One hive, two hive, beehive!
21:12Any questions, class?
21:14All right! Find those flowers!
21:42And what do we have?
21:44Honey, honey, and more honey!
21:46Yeah!
21:47Yahoo!
21:53Here's your last honey home delivery of the season, Mr. Drone!
22:01Oh, my!
22:03Oh, my!
22:04Oh, my!
22:05Tim, your grandfather's honey is always tops, but this year's batch is the best yet!
22:13Give my regards to the bees!
22:16I will!
22:18See you next spring!
22:20He liked it!
22:21He really liked it!
22:23Oh, honey of a job, Tim!
22:25And as I always say, nothing like honey to take the sting out of winter!
22:42Is this the magic school bus?
22:45Magic School Bus?
22:46Magic School Bus?
22:47What do you mean?
22:47Magic School Bus?
22:48Magic School Bus?
22:49Magic School Bus?
22:50Magic School Bus?
22:52I want the Magic School Bus!
22:54I want the Magic School Bus!
23:08Thanks, Liz.
23:10Magic School Bus, producer speaking.
23:12What's the buzz?
23:13I just saw your show on bees, and what I want to know is,
23:17could honeybees really gather enough nectar in one day to make enough honey to get them through the whole winter?
23:23We stretch the truth here, but given enough nectar-rich flowers,
23:28a strong hive can make enough honey for the winter in a week or two.
23:31And what do beekeepers like Tim's grandpa do?
23:34I thought honey came from the wild.
23:37Actually, almost all of the honey we buy in the store comes from bee farms,
23:41and beekeepers are the people who harvest the honey.
23:44Man-made hives are much bigger and have a lot more bees than wild hives,
23:48so they make and store a lot more honey than wild bees do.
23:51And as long as the hive makes more honey than it needs,
23:55the beekeeper can sell the extra honey without hurting the hive.
23:59Oh, I don't feel so bad, then, because I love a little honey on my toast for breakfast.
24:04Just so you know, it would take one bee about a hundred trips from the flowers to the hive
24:10to make enough honey for just one piece of toast.
24:13That's amazing!
24:14But with 10,000 bees working together, it goes pretty fast.
24:19That makes sense.
24:20But I have to admit, I found that dancing stuff pretty unbelievable.
24:24Do bees really dance to tell each other where to find nectar?
24:29Unbelievable, but true.
24:31Actually, bees communicate even more information than we showed,
24:35and we still don't know everything they can tell each other with their dancers.
24:39Just one more thing.
24:40I've never heard so many bad bee jokes before.
24:44Thank you very much.
24:46Want to hear another?
24:47Uh, sure. Why not?
24:49What do you get when you cross a seagull with a bee?
24:52What?
24:52A beagle.
