02:15they had a coach that came from princeton his name was thomas peebles this is the origin of sky
02:22all right and at princeton they came up with a saying for their football team to inspire the football team
02:31that saying was sis boomba the origin of sis boomba came from princeton football in the late 1800s
02:39so he gets to minnesota as the coach and he wanted to come up with their version of sis boomba
02:45and they took this from the dakota language sky you ma means go um in this dakota language so they
02:53instituted it as their version of sis boomba and they've been sky you ma ever since dakota language
02:59so it's like native american i guess okay i didn't get into really the is it the entomology
03:05whatever yeah etymology etymology entomology is insects yeah i didn't get into insects either
03:13but there are two useless facts from the michigan minnesota game that i didn't get to use
03:18i don't think the second was was nearly as useless because um i think people will see the sky you

03:23on their helmets and wonder what the hell does that even mean yep you know why doesn't it just say
03:27row the boat so now we know yep so there you go uh all right no start from kang that

03:36you you love the first one because you got that question right so you're joyful and the second one

03:44i mean would i would i give these things what do you want to just hit them anyway so people

04:23fantastic yeah all right uh okay so michigan doesn't play this week but they do play again
04:28it'll be against penn state and it's amazing how much michigan and penn state seasons have mirrored
04:32one another penn state was leading by 10 points in the fourth quarter with the football with seven
04:40minutes to go against wisconsin and they were going to bank that win and in the last seven minutes the
04:45wheels came off wisconsin scored twice one on a long touchdown to a tight end that looks slower than
04:50erosion and penn state blew that lead lost that game came out the next week and gave up over 500
04:57yards
04:58offense to northwestern and lost 31 13 and a highly discouraging performance the day that penn state
05:04blew that lead michigan had the football with two minutes to go up a score against iowa they blew that
05:10lead and then followed it up with a highly discouraging performance offensively against
05:15minnesota both those teams are backed into a corner and now penn state plays usc this weekend and penn
05:21state's favored uh against uh the trojans in happy valley but uh michigan and penn state kind of
05:28mirroring each other here in season one of matt campbell and kyle whittingham michigan state
05:34homecoming gator you love the chip on the shoulder game right sure the two quarterbacks
05:41can play the chip on the shoulder game if they want alessio milivojevich is from the state of
05:48illinois and i guess didn't get recruited by brett bielema and kate and hauser can play that they
05:54didn't want me card even though it has nothing to do with this current staff he can play that card
05:58if
05:58he wants sure but it's his old team michigan state because he was here a couple years ago yep
06:02because hauser transferred from michigan state to east carolina played well at east carolina
06:06eventually got picked up by illinois so i know you love the chip on the shoulder thing so there's
06:11there's that little nugget i i love the depth thing more i wish it was just they had some depth
06:16that they could lean on and i i just hope that they're competitive on saturday because they were
06:22not competitive uh in wisconsin and that was really disappointing um i'm hopeful to get some guys
06:29back this week but uh they have to find a way to to score offensively they really what they need
06:36to
06:36do is hunker down and protect the damn quarterback they've got some some weapons offensively they can
06:42use they've got some good receivers the tight end is good they got a couple good tight ends
06:46but they have to protect the quarterback keep the running back in he has to know his responsibilities
06:52he's got to read the defense and see where where the blitz is going to come in from where that
06:56extra
06:56defender is going to come in from or you got to have to chip on one side and figure it
07:00out
07:00if michigan state can't pass protect they have no shot well illinois's defense has been brutal
07:07they're 15th in scoring defense in the big 10 15th in total defense but michigan state is dead last in
07:14yards per game and average points per game so this is this is a prime opportunity for michigan state to
07:20get the the offense going another little subplot of this and i don't know how much this matters but
07:26these are two schools that heavily heavily recruit the same area pat fitzgerald given his ties yeah
07:33heavily recruits chicago illinois given that it's illinois heavily recruits chicago so if they get
07:39in recruiting battles and it's it's the big 10 anyway so it's the state of michigan illinois gets in on
07:44too yeah and and for michigan states which illinois offense are they going to see the one that moved
07:50the football but didn't score against purdue or the one that put up 462 yards against ohio state
07:55because they were really good they were really good they were pretty damn good against ohio state
08:01and columbus and colin dixon their wide receiver he has eight touchdowns this year eight touchdowns
08:08michigan state has nine touchdowns as a team so he could be a problem but i mean look this is
08:15a game
08:15that both programs kind of need to win michigan state needs a win because trying to find those wins the
08:23rest of the season and you start off where they get a couple wins off the bat great okay but
08:28then
08:28the schedule gets tougher now you've got a game against illinois how good is illinois they might
08:33be pretty good um and it's unfortunate that the michigan state isn't going to be at the level of
08:39some of these teams are able to to get better quicker um but looking at the rest of their schedule
08:44it's tough like that game against rutgers is at the end of the season like they could use one of
08:50those now uh to get off the schneid here but we'll see what you want to play the rutgers card
08:54in the
08:54middle of the season right i don't want to hang on to that to the end of the year but
08:58uh is maryland
08:59on the schedule no um but we'll see where they're at i i they're they're still obviously building but
09:06they have to be able to stay on the field they have to stay healthy and that's the number one
09:10issue
09:10with michigan state right now is they cannot stay healthy and they don't have the depth they know and
