00:03Morocco, the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament reaffirmed its
00:06commitment to South-South cooperation. The head of the organization, Rolando
00:11Gonzalez, emphasized the urgency of strengthening bi-regional dialogue in
00:14the face of a global context marked by climate and economic crisis and the
00:19erosion of international law. During the forum, it was emphasized that
00:23parliaments must be strategic actors in the defense of peace and democracy, not
00:27only at the national level but also within the context of international
00:30relations. Gonzalez recalled a shared history of resistance against
00:34colonialism to call for joint action to protect fundamental rights, social health,
00:38the environment and food.
