00:00On Thursday, Lebanon declared a day of national mourning to honor those killed and wounded
00:05during the deadly attacks executed by Israel against hundreds of civilians.
00:09Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced that all public administrations, institutions
00:13and municipalities will remain closed.
00:15National flags will fly at half-mast and broadcasts will be adjusted to reflect the solemnity
00:20of the occasion.
00:22Additionally, Salam stated that he remains in constant contact with Arab leaders and
00:26international figures to intensify political and diplomatic efforts aimed at halting the
00:31Israeli aggression, which on Wednesday alone resulted in at least 254 deaths and 1,165
00:38injuries across the country.
00:45And on Wednesday, Israel carried out several deadly strikes in both Gaza and Lebanon, killing
00:50three journalists in an escalation of attacks against the press, bringing the total to five
00:55journalists killed in less than two weeks.
00:57At the same time, Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory killed Gada Dayek, a press center
01:02for Sot al-Farah and Susanne Khalil, a reporter for Almanar TV and Alnu Radio.
01:09These attacks occurred amid an escalation of more than 100 strikes launched by Tel Aviv against
01:13Lebanon in defiance of the ceasefire announcement between Tehran and Washington.
01:17In this context, the Committee to Protect Journalists has recorded at least seven killed journalists in
01:22recent weeks in Lebanon and also qualified the aggression against Gaza as the deadliest
01:28four journalists ever recorded, bringing the toll to at least 260 cents October 2023.
01:41And the Iranian government condemned Israel for attempting to sabotage the ceasefire agreed
01:46upon with the United States by continuing its attacks in southern Lebanon. Iranian Foreign
01:51Minister Abbas Araki described the actions of the Saudis entity as a deliberate attempt to
01:55prolong the regional conflict and undermine diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington.
02:02The diplomatic official noted that the goal of accepting the ceasefire proposals is to permanently
02:08end the conflict. Araki also condemned the war crimes committed by the United States and Israel.
02:12He also noted that the international community has a responsibility to denounce these acts and can
02:18demand accountability.
