00:00Can't say enough about the season he had last year.
00:04Everybody talks about, you know, they score a lot of points.
00:07I'll tell you what, they had a really good running game.
00:10And a lot of the success we saw from A-Chan last year was their all-pro center,
00:18A-Ron Brewer, who joins us this morning.
00:20A-Ron, thanks for being with us, man.
00:21How are you doing this morning?
00:23I'm doing good, man.
00:25Bless.
00:25I just did another day.
00:27Yeah, I'm with you, man.
00:28Hey, I'm 68.
00:29I'm really happy to see you another day, brother.
00:31I'm with you on that one.
00:33Hey, man, I've heard so many great things about you, and I haven't bugged you.
00:38I stay away from most of the guys on the team during the season.
00:43But, hey, you're coming back.
00:45You're coming off.
00:47I thought since you've been here, I can't speak for your Tennessee years,
00:51but some of the things, you getting out in front of the plays
00:54and some of the blocks you had last year,
00:56do you feel like by far that was your best season of your career?
01:01Absolutely.
01:02And, you know, that's kind of what I strive for every year,
01:05every life since my rookie year.
01:07That next year, I'm trying to be better than the last year.
01:09And so what I've been doing so far, that's been doing exactly that.
01:13You know, it makes you feel good on the people that vote for this All-Pro,
01:18like coaches and players, that they recognize, no matter what your record is,
01:23no matter what's going on, that they recognize individually how good somebody is
01:28when they go back and go, hey, that center for the Dolphins, man, he was tough, man.
01:33Pass blocking, getting out in front of the plays out wide,
01:36the guy, whether it's a screen or pitching the ball,
01:39that guy's out there looking to knock somebody down, it says a lot.
01:44Yeah, absolutely.
01:45And I feel like that's more like just a true reflection of my character
01:49because I don't care where I'm at, who I'm playing with, what the record is,
01:55what the time is in the game.
01:56It can be first quarter starting with 60 minutes on the clock,
01:59or it can be fourth quarter down by 25 with two minutes left.
02:04I'm still going to be playing the same way.
02:06And so that's how I just try to live by it, like how you do anything,
02:09how you do everything.
02:10So it don't matter what the situation is,
02:12I'm still going to play and be the person I am in all situations.
02:15Hey, man, and I got to tell you, I also know late in the year you were hurting
02:19and you still played it out, which I think a lot of guys really respect
02:23when the word kind of goes like he's pretty banged up, he thinks he can play,
02:27and then there you are on a Sunday and you're playing.
02:30I think a lot of people that know that really appreciate what you've been able to do.
02:35How about coming from a two-star recruit out of high school
02:38to being an all-pro center?
02:40That's a nice little jump, man.
02:42Everybody thinks that's only for four- and five-star high school guys.
02:47No, it is dope, man.
02:49It all happens just behind them closed doors every day,
02:53like just being consistent and just putting in that daily work,
02:57that sweat equity, building that up every day.
02:59And it never stops.
03:01Like I always had the vision of where I was trying to get to,
03:04but anything you're doing in life, whether you're doing football
03:07or you're working in the office, you've got to put in that work.
03:10And I put in the work behind the closed doors,
03:12and I'm starting to see the fruits of my labor.
03:15Well, I got to tell you, it's funny you said that,
03:18because leadership obviously may be more than ever,
03:21as young as this team's going to be this year.
03:25And it's something all the guys are telling me,
03:27oh, no, listen, you don't have to worry.
03:29You don't have to worry about that center.
03:30He's going to lead the guys, and he's going to believe they have a chance.
03:35And I got to talk about that with you,
03:37because not everybody wants to be that guy out in front of everybody
03:40being the leaders.
03:41Whatever, where did that come from?
03:46It is really from just how I had walked, you know what I'm saying?
03:50So I was always led by example.
03:53I had, like, great people in front of me, great coaches, great mentors.
03:57And so they all just poured into me, and just, like, just how I said,
04:02like, how you do anything, how you do everything,
04:03they poured that into me.
04:04And so I try to depict it every day.
04:06And then I'm just also a child of God.
04:09So I'm always trying to be a disciple.
04:11I'm trying to pour into other people.
04:12Like, once I'm working, and how you said, at the end of the year,
04:14I'm hurting, but I'm still out there playing,
04:16because I understand that it's not just for me.
04:18It's for my team.
04:20It's for the kids watching on TV.
04:22It's for the fans in a statement who they had a bad week,
04:25and they came to the game just to get that little bit of joy.
04:28Like, that's what I'm trying to do.
04:30I'm trying to express that love through me to give to other people.
04:33So it's not always about me.
04:34And so I feel like I embody that in heart.
04:36I've been that way since the South.
04:38I've always been a servant of people.
04:40And so that's just where my leadership comes from.
04:44That's fantastic, man.
04:45I got to ask you, you're playing next to a guy that everybody got on.
04:49Savaniah was a rookie last year, and he had some great plays.
04:53And he's got to read the grades that come out from pro football focus
04:57and all the other stuff.
04:59I'm always wondering, the leader that you are,
05:01what kind of message do you give a guy?
05:04You've been through that, I'm sure, where you've had games that weren't great
05:07and you've had plays that are.
05:08It's a roller coaster.
05:09The NFL's a roller coaster.
05:11I'm just wondering, what do you tell a guy like that rookie in his first year?
05:16Just say the course.
05:17You know what I'm saying?
05:17Don't worry about the outside noise the same way that all these fans
05:22or whoever, they got all these bad words for you.
05:25As soon as you flip that page and you start signing, you balling,
05:30you're doing everything you're supposed to do,
05:31and now everybody loves you.
05:33They're going to turn that fast.
05:35And so don't worry about the outside noise.
05:37Just focus on what we got going.
05:39Focus on your craft and everything else will work out.
05:42You can always control what you can control.
05:44And so that's just the biggest point.
05:47Like, build up what you had last year, learn from your mistakes,
05:51and enhance on the good things you did have good.
05:53So that's the mindset, and that's how we're moving forward with it.
05:56You know, Aaron, I've always thought that going from your first year
06:01to second year is the most growth when you play.
06:03Do you agree with that?
06:04Like, all of a sudden, you got your feet wet, you made all your mistakes.
06:08As long as you're mentally strong, that second year is usually a big jump.
06:12Do you feel that way?
06:13Absolutely.
06:14I feel that's the big jump.
06:15And you got to be intentional about it.
06:17Like, you can't just think, oh, you're going to walk in,
06:19do the same workouts, whatever you did last year,
06:21and then you're going to get different results.
06:23You got to change something.
06:25Like, you coming from college, you coming to the NFL,
06:28it's a different speed, different game.
06:30Like, a bunch of great players.
06:32Like, everybody is the elite of the elite.
06:34And so you come in, and you witness this,
06:36and you're playing against them.
06:38It's a shock, almost, when you come in your rookie year.
06:41But after that, like, you kind of get a feel for, okay, this is the NFL.
06:45And so that second, you come in more prepared,
06:47understanding what you signed up for, what you got yourself into.
06:50And so I feel like that's where that big jump comes from,
06:53because you really understand the true speed of the game is how the game looks
06:59once you read it out there every snap.
07:02Like, there's not many rookies that come in and start right out
07:05and play every game.
07:06Like, every seven, like 17 games, you play every one.
07:11Like, Johnny played every one.
07:12He didn't miss out one.
07:13That's all.
07:14Like, that's just dope for a rookie.
07:15But I'm excited for him.
07:16Like, he got down to his belt.
07:17So now he knows what he's getting into this year.
07:19You know, that leadership word gets used and thrown around a lot last year
07:24and now this year.
07:26I think all coaches agree.
07:27And you can't just get it from coaches.
07:29You've got to have leadership.
07:30And they've talked about you as one of those core guys coming back on this team
07:35that not only coming off a great year, but your leadership and your mentoring
07:39and all the stuff you do.
07:41Who else would you put on that list on the team of guys that you like listening to
07:46when they have a message, they get your attention?
07:51A dude that come off, like, just straight off the top of my mind
07:54is just Jordan Brooks.
07:55Jordan Brooks, you know, he had a hell of a season last year.
07:59And he is his character, his people.
08:02You know what I'm saying?
08:03It's bigger than just the player on the field.
08:07Like, the person outside that, how they carry themselves,
08:10how they treat people.
08:10Like, that's like you really look at the example of what a good leader is.
08:15And I feel like Jordan, like, he's exactly this.
08:17It's like he's living right off the field.
08:19He's living right on the field.
08:21He's giving his all in everything he do.
08:23And so anytime he got any type of words to say,
08:26any type of knowledge to kick to me, like, I'm all ears.
08:30Hey, I got to ask you, I just heard this, too,
08:33that you're going to be going back for a mentoring program back to Dallas,
08:36where you're from, May 2nd, to be the speaker in a program that you once
08:42were part of and listened to a speaker and how it's had an influence on you.
08:47And by the way, I'm talking about also donating money
08:50and all the other things that you do.
08:51Talk about that a little bit and how that's affected you.
08:55Yeah, man, it is dope.
08:56And so I just went into the offseason, and as I said,
09:00I'm constantly just trying to grow and be a better man, better child of God.
09:03And so I'm trying to give back to the people that helped me come along.
09:08Like, it just hit different.
09:10And so with the program donating back to, it's crazy because, like,
09:13last year I'm sitting in the cold stuff just looking at the program
09:17because it was on my mind.
09:18And so the program's called Future Leaders Program.
09:21And so when I was, like, in sixth, seventh grade, looking up,
09:25scrolling down their page, and I get to the bottom,
09:27and it's like the Brewer Foundation.
09:28So I'm like, the Brewer Foundation, okay.
09:31So I guess it was just meant to be.
09:33So I reached out to him, and I think I got, like,
09:37a couple programs set up through him that was going to try to get the wheels
09:41turning on probably this late summer and during the season.
09:45And so it's just dope that I'm able to give back.
09:47And that's the biggest part I'm trying to do.
09:49I'm trying to give kids that exposure.
09:51I came from the little South Dapst area of Dallas, Texas.
09:55And so that was an area they looked out for.
09:57And so through the program, I just got so much exposure.
10:00They allowed me to see so many more things in life that I probably wouldn't see
10:03just being in front of the area I was from.
10:06And so I really appreciate it.
10:07They kind of hit on me, like, that's all it takes for some kids
10:10is just for them to see something different.
10:12But if they see something different and exposed to something,
10:15like that triggered what they need them to chase their goal
10:19or just give them that extra push to believe that things are possible.
10:23And so that's why I'm embodying right now.
10:26It's really just trying to give back to the youth,
10:28whether it's my words, my time, or something.
10:31I'm trying to get back to them so they can change and believe that
10:34they can do anything in this world.
10:36That's our future.
10:37So the kids are our future.
10:39So I'm trying to point to them and just give them everything to give me.
10:43Well, I tell you what, it's amazing.
10:45And now you're the guy on the other end.
10:47They can look at it and say, hey, man, he was able to do it.
10:51Maybe I can do it, too.
10:52I think it's a great message.
10:53Hey, so I got to ask you this, too.
10:55You go, you guys have these workouts starting back up.
10:59What's it like?
11:00You see a lot of new faces in a lot of new places.
11:03What are that first couple of days like for you?
11:07It's dope, you know what I'm saying,
11:08because there's a bunch of new faces on the team and on the coaching staff.
11:12And so I just feel like it's a good experience.
11:15And I feel like we just got to come in with an open mind.
11:18But right now it's about just building relationships
11:21and putting in that work.
11:23So just getting everybody on the same page
11:25and building a solid foundation for the Miami Dolphins
11:29to last now and years to come.
11:32And so I feel like this is where it all starts.
11:34And so we really see everybody's trying to build a relationship,
11:38find everyone's personality,
11:39and merge together the best we can.
11:41And, you know, on the same page, it feels something great.
11:44You know what's amazing?
11:45It seems like you really like playing.
11:47Because we always get this,
11:48well, I don't know if the veterans are going to want to stay around.
11:50You look like you really like playing for the Miami Dolphins.
11:55I do.
11:56It's an amazing city.
11:57When I got out here in 2024, I told them I'm not trying to go nowhere.
12:01I plan to retire here.
12:02I want to stay here for the rest of my career.
12:05Yeah.
12:05So, like, it's a great organization.
12:07It's a great city.
12:08And so I'm trying to give everything I can in my time,
12:11in my playing time, my playing career,
12:13to the Miami Dolphins to set them up for success
12:16while I'm here and long after I'm gone.
12:19Hey, so I got to ask you, man.
12:22Pilates and yoga are two things that you do
12:25when you're not working out,
12:26two other things that you like to do.
12:28And I always used to get on people.
12:30Don't get mad at me.
12:31But my wife goes, I'm going to Pilates today.
12:33And I used to just, I didn't realize
12:36big, strong dudes are doing Pilates.
12:39What do you get out of Pilates?
12:40I'm just curious.
12:41Help me out.
12:43So, Pilates, like, it's more mild muscle focused.
12:48You know what I'm saying?
12:49As football players, we do, like, a lot of heavy lifting,
12:52sprinting, this and that.
12:53But those mild muscles is, like,
12:56kind of what makes the difference.
12:57It kind of gives you that mind and muscle connection
12:59of the muscle you're trying to use.
13:02Okay.
13:02Don't get me wrong.
13:03Like, I was the same way in front.
13:04I'm like, Pilates, that's what a lady,
13:07that's what a woman is.
13:08Yeah, no, I said Omar Kelly was doing.
13:10I said, Omar, man, you're going to pick up ladies.
13:13I accused him, you know, you're there to get ladies.
13:15He goes, no, it's a great workout.
13:17Hey, I'm telling you, you go to a Pilates class,
13:21specifically Solid Corps.
13:22We've been going in Fort Lauderdale in Las Olas.
13:25You go to one of them classes, I promise you,
13:28your legs are going to be in there shaking like a stripper.
13:31Okay.
13:32Hey, so I got to ask you this now.
13:35Have you had any luck as a leader of that offensive line
13:38getting any other guys to go with you to do Pilates or yoga?
13:43Oh, yeah, absolutely.
13:44Wasn't that – so me and Pat, we do it, frankly.
13:48Like, this whole offseason we've been going every Wednesday
13:50and getting some of the other guys to go with it.
13:52It was a point in time last offseason we had –
13:55got the whole offensive line to come after a Pilates class,
13:58a Solid Corps class.
14:00Wow.
14:00And so, yeah, but, like, consistently, me, Pat, Brayden, Daniels,
14:07Keon Smith, like, we ain't no Pilates, man.
14:10We're in the Solid Corps doing a little extra work.
14:12But, like, we try to just create that separation.
14:16Yeah.
14:16Little thing.
14:17I love it.
14:18Pat, you got Big Pat going.
14:19Patrick Parr, left tackle.
14:21And, by the way, how good is he going to be?
14:23You talk about taking that big jump in year two.
14:25Oh, my gosh.
14:26How good is he going to be?
14:28Dog, you talk about good, great, and elite.
14:30I feel like my dog, he's going to push on that elite status this year.
14:34He's going to unlock it.
14:35Hey, so I got some other things.
14:37I know you love food.
14:38You like going around and checking food out there.
14:42Give me your favorite restaurant or two.
14:43Go ahead and give a shout-out.
14:44I don't mind you doing it.
14:46They don't have to pay.
14:46Give me a couple of your favorite restaurants.
14:49Okay, okay.
14:50We're going to go – it's a spot out here by – it's in Fort Lauderdale,
14:55Los Solish.
14:56It's a spot we hit faithfully after finishing off a lot.
14:59It's our solid court class called Coyote Taco.
15:02Okay.
15:03Coyote, top tier Mexican restaurant.
15:05Get you a burrito, quesadilla, taco, bowl, whichever you want.
15:09Look at you.
15:10That's strong right there.
15:11Okay.
15:13Yep.
15:14And then I said another one.
15:15This has been my spot since I got out here in 2024.
15:18I found out about it.
15:20It's called El Chiracaso.
15:22It's in – I think I say Pembroke.
15:25Pembroke Pines.
15:26Pembroke Pines.
15:27Okay.
15:27Yeah.
15:28Yep.
15:28It's a Brazilian steakhouse.
15:30But it's like a little small spot.
15:31It's really intimate.
15:32But when I tell you, these probably got the best lamb chops you would ever taste like.
15:36Oh.
15:37The bone.
15:39I'm hungry right now.
15:40Oh, Lord.
15:42That sounds so good.
15:43You guys steak, pure steak restaurants.
15:45There's a ton of great ones.
15:47You have a favorite because somebody's always mad if they don't hear it.
15:50But go ahead and give me your go-to.
15:52You know what?
15:53I just feel like a real tasty steak tonight.
15:56Okay.
15:57Okay.
15:57Let's see.
15:57We can go with – what's one of my favorite, favorite?
16:02I did have recently Prime 112.
16:06Oh, yeah.
16:08Yeah.
16:09Yeah.
16:09No, no.
16:10That's good.
16:10Plus, usually the talent down there is not bad, too, while you're at Prime 112.
16:16The left side of that restaurant.
16:18Yeah.
16:18No, no.
16:19I got you on that one.
16:21Hey, man.
16:21Yeah.
16:22I got to tell you, it's been great having you, man.
16:25I really appreciate you getting to know you a little bit and spending time, man.
16:30Congratulations on everything, man, and your mentoring programs that you're doing and all
16:35the great work in our community, your leadership role, man.
16:39It sounds great.
16:40Keep it going, man.
16:43Hey, thank you, man, for having me, man.
16:44I just hope you have a great rest of your day, man.
16:46Everybody in the office, everybody stay blessed.
16:49All right.
16:49Hey, good way to go.
16:50Good way to finish it.
16:51Hey, Ron Brewer, the All-Pro Center of the Miami Dolphins.
16:55That's an impressive dude right there.
16:56That's an impressive dude right there.
16:59No question about it.
17:01Hey, we got to take a break here, man.
17:03And I want to tell you about Baptist.
17:04That's-
