08:20so yeah it's not I can't hear I don't know what was written about our joint practices or whatever
08:29but I can tell you I never went through a joint practice where I thought oh we were dominating them
08:38or we're getting smoked I never like it's practice you know why and I'm gonna tell you exactly why this
08:45has happened though it's because the damn coaches don't respect the preseason anymore they don't
08:49they don't care about the games all they've they've built up these practices correct so everybody's
08:54trying to go at it like games if they would just treat the preseason like the preseason and it's all
09:00a practice and and they would give some reps we wouldn't care so much about it because they've
09:05drilled into everybody's head hey the games don't matter they're a waste of time nobody plays
09:10themselves with this nonsense right now we're looking at we're looking at the first uh Wednesday
09:17practice against uh the Washington Redskins as preseason game one yep pretty much right like I get
09:25it I and you know what I I understand that because I'm like all I try to do is and

10:07practice against somebody else and get a different feel but we didn't we didn't read into it like this

10:21they are running basic cover two and we're running basic routes there's no slide protection to
10:30if you know Ruben Bain was killing the right tackle we would slide the protection over there's no
10:36adjustments you just lining up the two coaches talk and say hey when you run this play right here
10:42we're gonna do cover two are we gonna do cover three right hey can you throw some man in there
10:46yeah I'll throw some man in on this play when you run this play I want to see you know

10:50to see some adjustments right and and that's the practices are negotiated as far as what you're gonna
10:58see it has no indication of what defense this team's gonna play during the year or what plays they're
11:05gonna run everything is very basic right and so like you're more looking at your guys competing
11:14your guys fighting like hell your guys seeing them one-on-one you know um how they respond to one
11:23-on-ones
11:24and stuff like that but it's not a real indication of anything other than your guys competing against
11:34other guys and when it's all said and done that's where the coach is gonna go you're not even competing
11:39here you gotta fight like hell here like not about the schematics of what's going on is this a good
11:46team that we're worried about because this team was a went away from the Super Bowl two years ago they
11:50won five last year because Daniels got hurt all the time they just lost their best offensive lineman
11:56with a tricep injury so like what kind of a measuring measuring right exactly like you don't
12:02like you you don't it's hard to assess it other than it's competition against somebody wearing a
12:11different uniform right and and so what you concentrate on it and here's what so when we did one-on
12:18-one
12:19pass uh pass pro like we mostly got bull rushed because the pass rusher ain't got to worry about
12:27nothing but the quarterback and he don't have to worry about so I remember my freshman year I mean
12:33my rookie year we practiced against the Giants and I was doing one-on-one with LT geez because he
