02:56is part of being a highly paid celebrity you're going to have fans who say bad things and you know
03:03you just got to deal with that i i i was thinking he might say that but it's not what

03:10here's what he said when we asked him yesterday about about pozimski uh being booed at the giants
03:17game that's pretty disappointing i know that he can be a little bit of a polarizing figure with our fans
03:24but um you know i would hope people recognize um you know just the good things that that he does
03:30for us and and what a good player he is and he's in his third year he's growing you know
03:35and he and
03:35he really only played a year and a half of college i think he he um barely got in for
03:40illinois transferred
03:41to santa clara and played one year so this is a young guy who's growing and learning and you know

03:47think some of the reaction uh from from fans if there's booing at the giants game or whatever
03:52some of that might just be hey he he said some things early in the year that you know maybe
03:58rubbed people
03:59the wrong way wanting to be better than steph whatever but look he's a young guy and he's growing
04:04and he's he's he's really a good player i mean he does he does so much for our team that

04:10people don't don't recognize and don't see um his rebounding his ball handling yeah you can put him
04:16in any spot as in uh when i drop a play i can have him be the handler the shooter

04:22diver uh but he's he really sees the game well um but yes he's got a lot to improve on

04:29that's what being a young player is all about so um so i bring that answer up and and lucas

04:48chamber thing again and then i said to him well then how did it get to the giants game

05:33is the the real minority of fans who actually feel that way and feel that way and would take that
05:40moment to just boo a guy in person boy i don't know if what you just said is right i

07:31booed him but i can we all agree that is the next level up that's very different than i sent

07:50called out those of you who are booing pods or what have you and the responses that i've gotten

09:15world what i mean by that i know that if you use twitter you go to giants games and vice

09:20that was not on your phone that actually happened in real life that was an extension of i know you
09:28weren't face to face with him but many of you chose to send a thought literally directly to him
09:36not to his phone to him sitting right there in section whatever and you let him know to me that's
09:46the next level up the staircase for sure it's a level up but it still is a little bit of
09:51a kind of a
09:52hide behind keyboard warrior thing because you're not right next to him booing him i would imagine
09:58the booze came from locations that were not in proximity to pods and so you see him on the screen
10:03and you boo him i agree that it is a level up because he's just there to watch a ball
10:09game and so
10:10what happens this year when he goes to a valkyries game are we going to boo pods at a valks
10:16game when
10:16he's courtside now that's a little bit of a safer environment for him because they're valkyries fans and
10:22they're going to be more pro pods because he loves the team it's a different crowd right but
10:28it's a different crowd i'm not saying he's going to be totally immune he might catch a couple of
10:32boost rays he could he could i i've i have viewed sort of what i would consider to be
10:38um odd sounds at warrior games his missed threes sound different than d'anthony melton's missed threes
10:47even though guess what there are more d'anthony melton missed threes than brandon podzemski or
10:53podzemski missed threes um so that's my question how did this get to the giants game and and and
11:05let it be yet another one of our thought exercises with regard to the idea of is this um is
11:12it a social
11:13media thing i'm not saying it's not real i know it's real i know there are a lot of you
11:18that have
11:18a distaste for either him or the entire situation and that's fine that's fine you're allowed to have
11:24a distaste for whatever you have a distaste for um i think the treatment of him and the reaction is
11:30wrong
11:31i i i just think it's i i think it comes i think it's misguided i think it lacks facts
11:38and i think it's
11:39emotionally i think it's over emotional and kind of coming from a different place that's my take
11:44but whatever you like who you like you don't like who you don't like but i do think that a
11:50lot of us
11:51have been cruising around in this world thinking and the same thing we thought kind of about kaminga
11:56we're like this lives on the computer and on the phone in a different way than it lives in real

12:03i we did this three weeks ago with steve kerr yeah steve kerr very very negative deal right now
12:10on social media and then we threw that out to the show for a day and literally tens of you
12:18called in
12:19with a very different perspective on steve kerr i don't think steve kerr would get booed at a giants
12:26game if he was wearing his dodger gear he might he would and he doesn't really like to have that
12:31out
12:31there as much and i i totally understand that but this is just a guy who really wants to support
12:37the local teams wearing the uniform of another local team he's wearing valk's gear at a giants
12:43game with his buddy will richard another guy who's about his age he's just looking to blow off some
12:49steam and he catches boo strays at a giants game and i just i don't fully understand it and i
12:55know that
12:56people can be angsty and granny what inning was it so i can gauge the drunk factor somewhere around
13:02the fourth oh okay so i mean if it's like the seventh or eighth and you're already mad about
13:06the giants and you're half in the bag yeah but it's a giants game it's not like it's not like
13:10everybody's wasted it but i mean seventh or eighth inning you're more likely to be more likely in that
13:16state but fourth inning the weather's been spectacular and it's early in the season yeah you're frustrated
13:21about the giants and you know the warrior season hasn't gone as planned but pods is just a guy
13:27sitting there trying to take in a ball game and he's catching booze so like i guess here's the
13:32question for a lot of you because the way you experience this in your warrior fandom i want to like
13:39share
13:39this with you it's very different than the way we experience this because this is our job and and and
13:46this is sort of the ultimate echo chamber um i don't mean that our opinions are different but the
13:53way we experience it we're so kind of attached on a daily basis to what a lot of you are
14:00saying to us
14:01in all the different platforms and the social media and all that but what that leads to is when we're
14:07all
14:07done with our day like i don't go home looking to talk to people about pods no and i don't
14:13go on twitter
14:14looking to you know read all of the different things after he misses his third three in a row
14:19i'm not jumping on the socials to see who's ripping him so this that's why when i got in the
14:24car last
14:24night it's a little bit like really mom like i'm up on 82 and she needs to ask you why
14:31people hate him
14:32and i'm like mom i've been at chase center since 10 o'clock this morning we're doing knockout we're
14:38running over here downtown we're talking this out for four hours i'm heading home to see your grandkids
14:44and cook them dinner and you're hitting me with bosimskis and i'm just like oh my god really it's a
14:52thing it's it is but that's my point like we're not i want to know what is your experience listeners
14:59out in the real world your friends your co-workers right how does this go when somebody runs into a
15:09crowded room and goes brandon podjemski like what happens at your office or even if you're at a bar
15:16watching the game and he hoists one of his patented oh my god that barely hit the backboard threes or

15:23the game right exactly do you do you go to the game are there people near you and are there
15:27groans or
15:28like what's the reaction to pods when pods doesn't do great things like even you know grandy and evan do
15:34the pre and the post or whatever but where they're sitting like you're not far from some fans and you
15:40can see the fans and you can hear the fans but you're also sitting next to you know like whitley
15:46i'm like it and you're you're working you're tapped it's just different but there's fans that
15:51are only like 40 feet away it's like a half a section over and you can see and i wonder
15:56about you
15:57know grandy being out there do you see a lot of number two pods jerseys are you are seeing those
16:03jerseys now fewer than you used to and i'm kind of putting you on the spot with a random question
16:08but i was just thinking about that going to the game like everyone's got a 30 and jersey in the
16:14cart and all that but pods i see a few podjemski's here there but i don't think it's ever reached

16:19a critical mass and i don't think i've seen like a decrease but it's been a relatively low percent from
16:24the beginning so i don't know if there i would notice any kind of difference like like where where
16:28you're sitting i mean you're right you can see it you can hear a collective reaction but you
16:32don't necessarily have those fans that lean next to you and go this bleeping guy i want him off the
16:39team so bad which is what it sounds like when you open twitter and it's even for you texter 510

16:59are the echo chamber that i'm trying to sort of like work around you try to gauge exactly how

17:21response like there are plenty who i i'm not pleased with right now in terms of how they're producing

17:43so i get you i'm trying to figure out that when you go to a bar or you go to

17:50the game or whatever do the people around you without phones hate pots of course not of course

19:22and the halftime ceremony was like 40 minutes and it's a fan base that was treated to 40 years of

21:32overall the theme is from what i'm seeing it's the constant over evaluation of our young talent right

21:44playing and jemski is a nice backup guard okay like he's a nice backup point guard and you know
21:51one real quick thing you go to the team store a year ago they had pods jerseys next to steph
