Throughout May and June, Transpennine Route Upgrade teams will take another huge step in delivering faster, more frequent trains on a greener railway across the North, through a series of engineering works between Huddersfield and Leeds.

00:00If you're a regular rail user between Leeds and Huddersfield, or if you're set to travel between Batley and Dewsbury
00:06in May and June, your train journey might be impacted.
00:10Transpennine Route upgrade teams will take another step in delivering faster, more frequent trains on a greener railway across the
00:17north through a series of upcoming engineering works.
00:20From Saturday 2nd to Monday 25th May, 56 engineering trains will be deployed as 6.2km of track is renewed.
00:30The upgrades are said to help deliver smoother, more reliable journeys for anyone travelling along the 70-mile route.
00:3751 foundation bases will also be installed which will support overhead line equipment, electrifying journeys in the future.
00:45Brickhouse Station will be used as a rail and bus interchange location during this period.
00:50And other rail services will run as close as possible to the closure areas, with replacement buses in operation to
00:57keep people moving.
00:58From Saturday 30th May to Saturday 27th June, a final phase of upgrade works across Batley and Dewsbury will be
01:06delivered.
01:06And platform remodelling, subway excavations and the construction of a new staircase and footbridge at Huddersfield train station will also
01:14be undertaken.
01:15While work on the historic Euston Star roof will also see the canopy extended further.
01:20On weekdays train users will be kept moving between Huddersfield and Leeds via the Wakefield diversionary route.
