A wide range of rail improvement projects will affect train passenger journeys across Leeds and Yorkshire in the coming weeks.

00:00If you're a regular rail user or planning a specific trip to and from Leeds or a number of other Yorkshire stations in the coming weeks, Network Rail are advising passengers to keep up to date and plan ahead for a number of works taking place across the region throughout October and November.
00:17On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October there will be no trains between Doncaster and Leeds and York, North Allerton and Darlington. On Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November there will be a reduced service to, from and through York and on 8th and 9th November rail replacement buses will operate between Wakefield and Leeds and York.
00:39Buses will also replace trains between Nairsborough and York from Saturday 25th October through to Sunday 2nd November.
00:48The works being carried out include sleeper replacements, track components renewal, new track being laid, drainage renewal north of York and overhead line equipment resilience improvements.
00:59Further south between Selby and Doncaster, about 150 workers will be implementing a £1.1m investment at Hex sidings, while the 9-day line closure between Nairsborough and York will allow for repairs to the cattle signal box and level crossing enhancements.
01:18The Trans-Pennine route upgrade works are also continuing, with passengers urged to check before travelling between Dewsbury and York throughout October and November.
01:26Teams will be undertaking work at Batley and Dewsbury stations to prepare for platform extension works which will allow for longer trains to stop at the stations in the future.
01:36Bridge reconstructions will also be taking place, with up-to-the-minute information available before travel online.
