00:00A couple things. First, Luka Doncic is out for the rest of the regular season, maybe into the first round.
00:06All the playoffs are the bad hammy. Then you got the news I didn't see coming that Austin Reeves is
00:11out with an oblique injury, at least four to six weeks.
00:14So that'll take him well into the postseason, which is a problem for the Los Angeles Lakers, because right now
00:22they're down to one guy.
00:23And that guy, amazingly, is 40 years old and isn't hurt.
00:28Isn't hurt.
00:29What?
00:30That's LeBron James.
00:31Yeah, it's crazy. Like, all things aside about LeBron, and I'm sure Craig will be negative on him before the
00:36show's over.
00:37Well, there's been allegations of PDUs, well-documented.
00:41In the past, yeah.
00:42There's been allegations of going to other countries, but he's not the first nor the last guy to do that.
00:47I'll get to that in a second, because Luka's on his way right now.
00:50Now, they're saying it's either Germany or Switzerland to get some type of, it's like platelets and core blood and
00:58the blood of an orphan child.
01:02And God knows what they do in these other countries.
01:05Here's what's interesting about it.
01:07So, Luka's out for the rest of the regular season.
01:10It's a hamstring issue.
01:11They're obviously very concerned about it.
01:12So, he, with the Lakers' permission, I guess, is now off to Europe.
01:17They think it's Germany.
01:19It might be Switzerland, because those two countries allow for some type of, and I'm not kidding.
01:25It's like, you know, core blood.
01:26It's like platelets.
01:28It's kind of cutting-edge stuff, but none of it is legal in the United States of America.
01:35Now, it doesn't mean it's bad.
01:36It doesn't mean it doesn't work.
01:37It just means that our doctors, our FDA, isn't quite sure if the benefits outweigh the potential negative side effects.
01:47But these world-class athletes, I mean, Kobe Bryant did it before we start throwing stones at Luka.
01:54My only beef with it is this.
01:56During the season, I don't think an active player should be allowed to go to another country and get some
02:06type of treatment that, if he had that same treatment here, would require him to be suspended because it's an
02:14illegal treatment.
02:15That's the thing I can't wrap my head around.
02:17The NBA isn't going to say anything about it.
02:20The Lakers aren't going to say anything about it.
02:23And he's going to go to a country where there's a treatment and or a drug that is not legal
02:28in this country to play more basketball.
02:32Now, I respect the fact that these guys are willing to go to another country because of their desire to
02:37play.
02:38Yeah.
02:38As a fan, I want everybody to go to Europe if you can get some type of help that's going
02:44to allow you to play for my team, that's going to give my team a chance to win.
02:47Like, if Jalen Brunson, you know, needed something, get your ass to Europe as a fan.
02:54But I don't think the NBA should allow it.
02:57Yeah, they're in a tough spot there.
02:59Kobe's things were always in the offseason.
03:01It was the knee.
03:02It was that crazy wonky figure he had going.
03:05This is different than it's during the season.
03:08Yeah.
03:09It is very different in that way.
03:10And then he's just going to fly back and go, okay, we made it this far.
03:14Let's go.
03:15Yeah, and again, I don't think it's a drug.
03:17The way I read it this morning, where there are certain, like, blood, like, red blood cells get taken out,
03:22washed, put back in, supposed to help the healing.
03:25They do take, no joke, like, orphan child platelets or something like that.
03:30I assume the orphan's aware of it or maybe they can't have so many parents, so who's fighting for them,
03:34right?
03:34In any event, it's just weird to me that Western science isn't good enough for a world-class professional athlete
03:43to get help for a hamstring.
03:45That's crazy to me.
03:47Yeah.
03:47I don't know.
03:48I do like the fact that the Lakers are now dead, kaput, and they're out.
03:52Yeah.
03:52Even though they're the three seed right now, they're going to obviously fall.
03:55I can't sit in the morning of another game.
03:57They lost to the Dallas Mavericks yesterday.
04:00LeBron James did his job.
04:02You had 30 points, played well, despite the fact he's the only offensive option for them now.
04:07But the LA Lakers season came to an end.
04:10And you could argue it came to an end when Luke ran down first.
04:13That's an argument I would make.
04:14Yeah.
04:14Because the dude's averaging 33 points a game.
04:17It's killing it.
04:17You could certainly make an argument that the Lakers season ended now that Austin Reeves is out.
04:23It sounds like the Austin Reeves injury is worse.
04:27Like, they're already saying four to six weeks with him.
04:30With Luke, it's the next week and a half, and we'll see.
04:33Right?
04:34I did find it interesting, though, that J.J. Reddick claimed that when Austin Reeves had his MRI when they
04:42were in Dallas, I think it was in Dallas.
04:44That's right.
04:44They're claiming now that the Mavericks medical staff, with the Lakers trainers looking on, MRI'd the wrong side of his
04:54body?
04:55Yeah.
04:56Did you see that?
04:56Yeah.
04:57Let me let you hear it for yourself.
04:58Here's J.J. Reddick taking a shot at the Dallas Mavericks medical team.
05:02Watch this.
05:05The second one was there.
05:12Again, I don't know where the chain of command lies with Dallas imaging, but they scanned the wrong area.
05:19So, not on our end.
05:22We made it explicit that it was supposed to be scanned, but it was a scan.
05:26But he won't play tomorrow regardless.
05:28You can stop it.
05:29It's all good.
05:30So, the Dallas medical team, according to J.J. Reddick, when they did the initial MRI to see what was
05:36wrong with the oblique, I guess the initial test came back.
05:39Nothing.
05:39Right.
05:40And then it turned out that they MRI'd the wrong oblique.
05:44You only got two of them, right?
05:46Right.
05:46So, I don't know how that happens.
05:48I do have a friend whose younger sister once broke her right leg playing soccer.
05:53Okay.
05:53And they put the cast on the left leg.
05:55Oh.
05:56Which is why, like, if you're going for any type of procedure now, they take, like, a sharpie and they
06:00write, like, X's.
06:01They mark it.
06:01On the side that's supposed to be operated on or MRI'd.
06:04I guess in Dallas they didn't have any sharpies.
06:06Well.
06:07Maybe that was part of the trade.
06:08I don't know.
06:08But if the Lakers go to him and say it's his right oblique, you guys got it?
06:13Okay.
06:14When it's done, give us the imaging and we'll read it.
06:16Right.
06:16Just you guys take it.
06:18And then they come back with the left oblique.
06:20Yeah.
06:20Maybe they thought it was the right side looking at him versus the right side of him looking at you.
06:25Or maybe, just maybe, the Dallas Mavericks staff said this is payback for the trade.
06:31That's what it was.
06:32This is payback.
06:33You stole Luka from us.
06:35Uh-huh.
06:36You gave us Anthony Davis.
06:37Who's already gone.
06:38Who's now in Washington.
06:40We're not going to MRI the right side.
06:42Yep.
06:42To get you back.
06:43Yep.
06:44You got to sue him.
06:45If I'm the Lakers, I got to sue you.
06:47Could you imagine, by the way?
06:48I got to sue you.
06:49Imagine if that was the case.
06:50It probably was.
06:51The Lakers are now dead and gone.
06:53And that's a shame because they're playing great basketball with the big three healthy.
06:57And while I still don't think the Lakers were good enough to win a championship.
07:00I agree.
07:01It's now a wrap.
07:02Like, I don't think they even beat the Houston Rockets.
07:05Let's say they play Houston in the first round.
07:07Um, and I did think they were good enough to win at least one round.
07:11Right.
07:12The way they were playing.
07:12Still not a great defensive team, but now it's a wrap.
07:15Austin Reeves is out.
07:16He's been great, obviously.
07:18Luka Donchick out at least for the next week and a half.
07:20So, uh, if you're a Laker fan, the LeBron James era, and it's not his fault on this one,
07:25but the LeBron James era is going to come to a close without a single real championship.
07:31And what a shame that is.
