00:00How about this story from Dave McMenamin?
00:01New story comes in.
00:03The Lakers announcing layoffs across various departments Wednesday
00:06as the franchise undergoes a reorganization under new leadership.
00:10How about that?
00:11We see this all the time.
00:12The NFL, which only goes up in ratings and only goes up with price points here,
00:17they lay off people all the time in their front office.
00:20No surprise to the Lakers, but some are like,
00:22hey, the Lakers are probably one of the more profitable franchises in sports.
00:25Doesn't matter.
00:26You know what matters to a business?
00:27Joe, being more profitable here.
00:30The greed, man, kicks in.
00:32Well, and we saw this.
00:34I mean, new ownership, new people.
00:36And it's not just unique to the NBA.
00:38I mean, we did see it in Portland as well.
00:40I mean, that guy fired everybody.
00:42Well, he's just not rehiring anybody.
00:45Minnesota, when I think it was A-Rod and his group came in to purchase,
00:51same thing.
00:52I mean, it's corporate America.
00:53It doesn't make a difference if it's the NBA or any place else.
00:56New leadership, new ownership brings in their own people.
01:00We've seen it amidst not a new story here, Donnie.
