02:10michigan's case for the type for the way they put their roster together um i it's um you know

02:33out there i mean yaks might have been but the others yeah yaks was pretty highly but yeah the other
02:38three i mean they were good players but it it they you know there two of them came off the

02:44uh for their respective teams and the other one was i don't know how bad it really was at um

02:50north carolina i don't know that social media truly represents what fans thought about that player but
02:56it's been put together nicely and because the parts fit together the parts fit together so well

03:07playing together for four years so i mean the way it was put together was was really was really

03:20about it i mean this is the is this the magic of dusty may where it's not just necessarily the
03:24talent of the players but being able to also figure out these are guys are going to be able to
03:28to fit together and play together and and are willing to do what it takes and and that's what's
03:34been pretty impressive to me about michigan is that they're not a bunch of guys playing hero ball
03:40you know these are guys that came together not a lot of shot hunting right from various parts of the
03:45country bring them together whether you like it or not it is what it is in today's college basketball
03:50and and these guys end up playing together not selfishly so it's been a remarkable run for them
03:58they are the best team in basketball they're able to withstand significant injuries and and still
04:04flourish because it's it's not a next man up mentality like you see like with the lions with
04:10that big roster yeah when they deal with injuries it's that's not it it's just okay we're going to
04:15shrink our circle because they're not expanding and using the bench i mean they they only use a
04:20couple guys from nine deep to eight deep to at the end of the game there were seven and a
04:24half
04:24you know yeah exactly in cheddar being the the half but i mean you know yaks i'm counting yaks as
04:30the half i guess i was looking at you know cheddar being that guy late but uh because it was
04:34a half
04:35yeah he's done a great job and all these guys just they've stepped up you know and and you keep
04:40plugging away could always not getting it done in the first half okay keep playing keep dishing the
04:45ball and he's he's doing a great job and he's treating the basketball and then he knocks down a
04:48couple big shots and it's like okay you're good the cadeau thing is interesting because
04:53i can't remember who the analyst was some analyst was at their practice on thursday and he was
05:00watching cadeau throw the ball off the backboard a lot and then they revealed after the game that
05:07part of the game plan was their concern over arizona's length had them deciding to throw the
05:13ball off the backboard regularly so cadeau got credited with at least four missed shots they said
05:21after the game that were actually passes off the backboard to mara that if there was um uh the big
05:28kid uh his name escapes right now 13 for arizona crevas yes thank you uh they would throw it off
05:34the
05:34backboard and the first possession of the game was a prime example of it and so the numbers didn't
05:41reflect necessarily what part of the game plan was now it didn't always work there were times where
05:46he threw it off the backboard and they didn't get it um but it it hurt his shooting percentage numbers
05:52but they were asked about after the game and they said yeah yeah it was something we worked on
05:57two four eight five three nine ninety seven ninety seven and and and again you know the the way the
06:02parts fit together michigan had 33 made baskets off 22 assists they share the ball and they do look like
06:09they've been playing together for a long time now is that credit to the players credit to just dusty
06:14credit to both because there's gonna have to be some restocking they do have a they don't they got
06:21a five star to commit during the game so they've got another highly regarded recruiting class coming in
06:26but they'll probably need a transfer or two here when that you know when it comes down to it and
06:30getting
06:31them everybody have the buy-in the way this team appears to have the buy-in is a challenge yep

06:35that's next year's challenge yes i mean this this year still has one game and in spectacular fashion
06:42for them and uh and look i don't know if this is something if this is a a process that
06:48that dusty
06:49may can just do every year and and and try to make that happen if that's if this is the
06:54the just a new
06:55way of the ncaa or if this is a you know kind of a a one-off way to get
07:00it done to find the right
07:01mix of players that are willing to play unselfishly together even though they obviously want their
07:06chance but you know if you're going to give guys 30 minutes a game and and if i don't know
07:13if you
07:13promise that to them or not or get promising the opportunity they could play 30 minutes a game
07:18however you want to do it yeah i want to be on the court as much as possible whether i'm
07:22scoring
07:2225 points a game or if i'm just being the role player setting screens and you know grabbing
07:28rebounds and and making that extra pass whatever i want to be on the floor and if you find guys
07:33that are willing to be on the floor and and again what we talk about all the time with the
07:36pistons
07:36wanting to play defense and if you have that desire to play defense you're going to find yourself on
07:43the floor and that's that's a lot of fun if you're 18 to 22 years old that's all you want
07:48to do is play
07:48and now here it is you've got a chance for national championship heard john beeline this morning with
07:53the guys yeah and they asked him about the pistons and you know he he goes right to assar thompson
07:59and says i love assar i mean this guy his want to in playing defense it's attractive basketball you
08:07know that's it just puts a smile on your face watching a guy play that way because it's not
08:12the guy who's hunting down the big contract or or all the headlines and the glory it's just i'm doing
08:17what's best for the team and you can see some parallels with the pistons and the wolverines
