00:22this is he has an opportunity to stamp the fact that he is the best 250 racer on planet earth
00:28and that might be the most important for hayden deegan and jt how about his speed in qualifying
00:34it was blistering yeah we were watching just absolutely incredible across the board look at
00:40that time right there huge time gap you hear the revs rise we're ready to get things going it's
00:46the west division up first and there's that familiar number one red plate hayden deegan gets
00:54the whole shot and it's probably going to be as good as goodbye from this stage watch this right

01:35the next closest competitor his rival in levi kitchen in qualifying around the track that's less
01:41than a 55 second lap time yeah that's an eternity on a supercross track and where he was making the

01:46up was like right there the corners incredible corner speed and then we talked about this rhythm
01:52lane coming up right here he's going to come out of here he was doing this section with ease
01:56compared to his competitors comes up a little short right there no harm no foul jt yeah and ricky it's
02:04just remarkable the steps that hayden deegan has made and progression in this 250 class and he makes a
02:11gigantic mistake there so maybe i speak too soon but just watching him here he has a chance to walk

02:16championship and i've been wondering hey as he's ready to move to the 450 class and be an immediate
02:21contender from everything i've seen ricky and will it seems like he's there because this is just
02:27turning into utter domination at this point that's right jt now they're watching this by day i mean the
02:33team um his dad ryan deegan they're keeping an eye on his performance you talked about 250s but moving
02:40into the 450 class we know that's imminent here it's coming up for as we move into the motocross portion
02:45of this smx season and i asked brian deegan i said okay so when you're looking at these fastest
02:50qualifying times you're comparing them to the other 250s you're comparing them to the 450s so no
02:56absolutely we're looking forward that's where we're at right now they're very ready they're already

03:54all season long he got to watch him in the off season racing down in australia and said hey
03:59this is a superstar in the making unfortunately he suffered an injury in that australian series so
04:04he's been a little bit behind he's been chasing his best form but with the break and all that the
04:09months they've had since that injury you can see that form starting to show up and just the break
04:14he may have gone ahead of the curb on this well and luxe's sister lachlan she is the w mx
04:24champion two
04:25time and she can ride the wheels off that motorcycle and tell you what that women's league series has
04:32been absolutely incredible those girls are flats hauling the mail please incredible there is a podium
04:39that's waiting for this man here max volant best result this year of four he gets closer and closer
04:45to that podium in this 26 season this track is in excellent shape smx track crew have done a fantastic
04:54job and you'll hear us talk about it a lot if you've been an smx fan for a while you

05:02how nice sister it is it's the perfect mixture check out this oh max got pitched off by that flapper
05:12but he's on the preferred line up the inside luxe has a look over saw him coming heard him coming
05:17gave him a little bit of room there didn't fight that too hard meanwhile hayden deegan is nearly seven

05:29there's kitchen on the bottom there definitely got a bad start it's been a rough year for levi
05:35kitchen we talked about it this is a guy that's been title contenders uh will and man it just
05:43been a rough start it has unfortunately it kind of continues to you if you can sort of
05:48see in levi kitchen a different shot you'll see he's actually wearing a kidney belt and that's to
05:52protect his lower back because he has a couple of injured discs there that were from a few weeks
05:57back now when he was actually lifting and training not while he was on track and speaking to him
06:02yesterday he said like this is i'm gonna have to just figure out how this goes as it goes because
06:08as soon as the back starts to hurt at the beginning of the day he said it usually just progresses
06:11throughout and he said it just kind of almost fades back in the race he also said the trouble is
06:16i'm dealing with not having track time he said i've been maybe four days on the mic in four weeks
06:21which is obviously long not enough and he says things kind of come at you fast when you're back
06:25on track with that lack of bike time so unfortunately for levi kitchen just battling more injuries and
06:30um and bad circumstances right now sitting here looking at the uh timing and scoring and hayden deegan
06:36it's about two seconds second and a half to two seconds a lap faster right than that yeah than
06:41his competitors and just absolutely bringing the heat and this is an important night for him to do that
06:48i mean i go back to birmingham and that was an incredible performance but levi kitchen getting
06:52in the mix right here jt yeah to listen to the story it's funny with levi kitchen you know he's
06:58wearing a kidney belt which is such a throwback to yesteryear it was once once kind of a must-have
07:03item and really nobody wears them anymore but to get the support there kitchen has reverted back yet
07:09and he had it on so high like placement wise earlier we're all laughing at him because it's a lost
07:15start nobody knows how to wear it anymore i said hey man yeah listen i'm old we're gonna i'm gonna
07:19show you we're gonna wear this thing much lower because you're kind of defeating nice move nice move

07:51him with his worst result of the season meanwhile as everybody on this final lap is chasing hayden
07:56deegan hayden's gonna keep his perfect score as far as he wins going because he has six for six this
08:03season it's going to be seven for seven as his arch rival coming into this season you're looking at on
08:10screen levi kitchen de francisco at the fastest lap on the track last lap but not enough for this guy
08:18overall this is going to be a lot of fun to watch these both coasts square off the main event
