00:10you'll be joined by Ali LaPorse on the sidelines now that we have a second let's take a quick peek
00:16at the rebounding numbers for the last handful of seasons for Anthony Davis I'm really not too
00:22surprised to see the rebounding numbers trail off a bit he's a veteran player getting up there in
00:28years and what comes with that is some changes to physicality and intentional adjustments to
00:35playing style even though his rebounding output has declined that veteran presence and basketball IQ
00:42continue to grow now look at Dallas's starting lineup we've got D'Angelo Russell P.J. Washington is out
00:51there with Davis then there's Daniel Gaffer and it's Irving at the two we've got Hachimura Mitchell
00:57is out there with Ellis and it's Torian Prince and it's battle and at the five spot I think we
01:03can
01:03officially say at GA the playoffs are looming in the not too distant future yeah and for most teams out
01:10there there's still plenty of work to do it's not just about qualifying for the postseason it's about
01:16getting a good seed as well stolen by Washington into the lane and he banks in the lane if anyone
01:26relishes
01:27contact it's P.J. Washington nice job absorbing it and finishing over to the left wing Hachimura misses the three
01:42and here is Washington and looking at his production he averages a little more than seven points a game
01:50to the paint and here comes the break battle misses
01:58Washington inside working on Prince Washington that's good boy that's how you execute in the
02:05painted area love when P.J. Washington is assertive Prince the pass to Ellis Mitchell outside
02:16the rebounded by Gaffer the Mavericks have gone three or four from the field to start out the game

03:18here in the late stages of March the range for teams in the power rankings has really solidified
03:24you look at San Antonio they're moving on up fourth spot in the rankings this time around
03:29well right now for this home ball club they've really come together you can see the confidence
03:35in their body language playing with that sustained focus it's why they're leading this division
03:41now here's Mitchell this game out he had 40 points and that one good there it is after four straight
03:49misses finally nail one outside Davis
03:57good and it's Russell picking up the assist Davis has got his second bucket of the night
04:01well if it ain't broke don't fix it they keep getting it in the paint and continue to score
04:07consistently and then Mitchell hit the dunk some power coming from the PG
04:13that's right GA seeing more and more of that these days backcourt guys who can elevate
04:19we know versatility is huge in this game just a tremendous job finishing that play wow
04:26now here's Mitchell after D'Angelo Russell's miss battle passes to Prince
04:35the baseline jail shots good by Mitchell Mitchell's got six points just under three and a half minutes
04:43gone here in the first quarter pass to Washington
04:49in the hoop for his third make from the field he's three for four thus far in the contest
04:53boy his shot looks deadly right now already he's hit three of four to start
04:58you know Doris we know how good D'Angelo Russell is now but how about having to play
05:04his high school team no kidding Kevin let's just talk about the fact that he
05:09and future MVP at that time Joel Embiid were on the same team in high school
05:15how would you game plan for two NBA players if you're another high school team stop it
05:21now here's Gaffer right now averaging about five points a game
05:25drops in the layup for two he's got six and they're beginning to just flat out fall apart
05:31defensively right now especially on the interior and Mitchell gets it to go he has been a one-man
05:40show trying to keep them competitive outside for Davis no good on the triple
05:49he's gone 0-2 from deep here Prince in the corner over Davis Prince can't hit that's one he knows
05:58he should have dreamed
06:01Washington passes to Gaffer out to Russell
06:07here's Washington offensive rebound Gaffer and Gaffer throws it down
06:14well in his size and hops Daniel Gaffer is always a threat near the rim
06:19Mitchell passes to bat kicks it out to Mitchell
06:24over Russell and it's Mitchell missing
06:27listen that's a good shot for him he just couldn't connect
06:32from deep Washington that's good and it's his fourth basket of the game he's a strong four for six
06:38he has created some terrific opportunities for himself and really made the most of and Mitchell gets it to go
06:47Mitchell's got 12 in the game and how about six of eight with that one and there is no slowing
06:54down this young man
06:55and so now a timeout called by Jason Kidd this now will give him a chance to discuss some
07:00potential changes
07:12and it's a completely new group on the floor for the Mavericks
07:17in front of you now is the list of teams that haven't missed many shots at all since the all
07:21-star break
07:22the Mavericks fourth and it's been a disciplined approach from both of these clubs
07:27offensively since the midseason I mean they're really getting good looks at the basket every possession
07:33and you can see it's become a point of emphasis
07:36here's Christie

07:40and the defense looks soft early on
07:43they've got to sum it up
07:45a little more sense
07:46of urgency
07:48and then Mitchell
07:49at the dump
07:50man way to finish
07:52and cut into that lead a little bit
07:54but look at the basket guy
07:56still shaking
07:57Mavericks leading by nine
08:02Williams with the ball
08:04a shot by Thompson
08:05and no one's around
08:06hits it from three-point range
08:08and the story here Kevin early on
08:11is how well they shot the basketball
08:14Mitchell passes to battle
08:16over Thompson
08:17battle misses
08:18going for that shot in that situation
08:21is something that isn't going to help the offense
08:23and in a way by taking that one he's bailing out the defense it's just too easy to stop
08:30and what a way to start this game dominating at both ends of the floor
08:34and give them credit for approaching this game with the right energy and intensity this team has attacked every chance
08:41they've gotten
08:42I love the spirit and I love the spirit he's shown tonight particularly on the offensive end
08:47and to me he's just playing smart efficient basketball really helping his team hang around this one now Christie after
08:56the missed three from Klay Thompson and it's out of bounds they say it was last touched by Williams
09:02just didn't get his hands up in time on that one they weren't on the same page there

26:30consistency one of our league's
26:32most efficient three-point
