00:02and we've been waiting for this day for a long time it's opening day in the nba thanks for
00:09joining us as we start the new season i'm brian anderson joining me tonight will be stan van
00:15gundy and clark kellogg along with ali la force checking in with us from the sidelines
00:21on friday they'll begin a road trip starting in memphis going up against the grizzlies
00:25and then on saturday they'll face off against anthony davis and the washington wizards could
00:31be seen as a tough challenge or a great opportunity to come together and grab a tone-setting win
00:39they've got a difficult schedule ahead of them and you always want to start a stretch like that strong
00:45and now the los angeles starters ingram and achimura in at the forward slums darius garland is out there
00:52with bradley beal and it's lopez in at the center position locking down the middle they've got
00:57kevin porter paul reed is out there with miller then there's marcus smart and it's bailey in at the two
01:03opening day buzz is in the air stand everyone excited for a first real look at these teams
01:09yeah ba there's nothing like it in any sport right everyone's undefeated right now everyone's optimistic
01:16and both squads want to start their season off with a bang we can expect high energy play all night
01:25long
01:25here's miller following the score by los angeles and then porter with the dunk porter such a terrific
01:32athlete making it look easy as he takes off and jams it down
01:39here's garland pass to ingram
01:48unloads from 13 and he hits the jumper for two well when he gets a clean look from there
01:54it's fairly automatic something he does so well taking full advantage from the mid-range
01:59and it's smart missing now los angeles with it and they were shocked by this team twice
02:07just didn't play well you know so much can happen in the regular season with the ups and downs of
02:13the
02:13year the travel injuries and all of that stuff but they were just not at their best when they met
02:18hey those second chance points are found money tremendous effort down
02:24let's check in with our reporter ali la force thanks i caught up with the home team's head coach
02:29something he was focused on was contending with the speed of darius garland
02:33he told me i'd let our guys know that they need to stay in front of darius he is so
02:38quick
02:38so shifty if you let him get a step on you the battle's lost we'll see if they got the
02:43message
02:43back to you okay thanks ali
02:47it's a very good look and converts ingram's got six points and the coaching staff has to be happy
02:53with how they've shot the ball here early on well we have a chance to hear from sean serrani
02:58he's calling in right now great to have you on bud guys let's go back memory lane back in 2019
03:04when
03:04the clippers traded for paul george and signed paul i leonard they were considered title favorites seven
03:10years later after a grand total of three playoff series wins it's a fresh start in clipper lane
03:16there's work ahead but the hope is next iteration in time can go even further a new beginning choms
03:23thank you los angeles shooting their first free throw of the night here
03:31free throw drops for lopez and you know lopez to me is what you think of when you hear the
03:36term
03:36stretch five the center with some real deep brain and it's miller missing and it's feel with the ball
03:45for the clippers leading by five
03:50garland with a screen on smart feel from outside nope another miss 0 for 2 to start the game
03:58it's stolen by ingram now los angeles moving it up feel that one's good well they're not wasting their
04:06chances at the offensive end that's for sure very high percentage so far and if you want to start a
04:13game huh that's the way to do it and haley gets it to go yeah attacking early i like it
04:19boy you love
04:20to get those high percentage looks to set the table for the rest of the night
04:26and that one's good ingram eight points for him boy he can't miss right now this is as locked in
04:34as you get
04:37back to miller
04:40pass to bailey miller outside here's border
04:46will not go misses off the front iron los angeles leading by seven here's garland it's deflected
04:57now here's reed
05:00miller on the wing from downtown nails it from three miller's got five points
05:09the clippers have gotten seven of their ten shots to fall
05:13garland he's open the shot goes down very quick possession right there
05:18well at his size a good jump shot is essential garland knows how to keep the defense off balance
05:24border has to read oh it's blocked by lopez
05:31here's bill
05:33off target at the rim he has not been at his most efficient this quarter has to read
05:41on the wing quarter takes a three machimura with a rebound
05:48the clippers have got eight out of 12 shots to fall
05:53here's ingram and reed pulls it down
05:57gotten five of 11 shots to go
06:01smart passes to porter and he was fouled while in the act of shooting so he'll take two free throws
06:08it's on rui achimura playing ferocious inside
06:12porter jr went right after the pig dogs
06:15and a look now at how the offensive approach has been going here so far for the clippers
06:20getting down hill has really been impressive to me not settling from the outside they're going
06:25right to the rack i also like how aggressive they were down in the paint taking no mercy
06:31the clippers making a switch here jackson he's checked in for lopez jones comes in for achimura
06:37streus he's checked in for ingram and it's done in for beale well the size of a shooting guard but
06:44kevin porter's capable of running the show at point club yeah this is now assist with newfound
06:49confidence va and at the same time cutting down on his turnovers that's a really good
06:54thing to see from him
07:07gone one for three from beyond the arc order the pass to smart
07:12and here's miller puts up the eight footer streus grabs the miss
07:20here's dunn rebounded by bailey you won't see that from him very often missing the bunny like that
07:26reed rebound by the clippers
07:31and here's strews outside count it one for one to start the game well that's a breakdown defensively
07:38you can't afford to give him those kind of looks the whole team calls timeout
07:58all right some time here to take a look at the 2k leaderboard here were the league's top shooting
08:03squads from last year the clippers fourth they had great productivity from their shooters last year the
08:10guys they were counting on to knock down a high percentage of their shots they did that and they
08:15hope to see those same kinds of numbers this year now here's porter with the tip here's reed and so
08:22he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair smart defensive play no easy back definitely
08:31save the layup with that foul and he'll make him earn them from the line and that's what you want
08:35to see
08:41he misses the free throw
08:51second free throw no good the clippers lead by nine some room here for strews yes and a nice assist
09:00from jackson strews has got his second basket on the night well right now they're struggling to get
09:06stop yeah you've got to turn up the dial on the intensity at the defensive end if you're them i
09:12mean
09:12it's still early but i agree with count that with reed well the defense can't lose track of him he's
09:18just
09:19too talented offensive time now to hear from our reporter ali la force thank you guys the clippers
09:25have revamped their roster but coach tyloo said one thing remains the same this group is going to
09:31compete we're going to scrap every night that's who we are so the teams that play against us they're
09:36going to be in for a battle every night back to you looking to stay in the mix ali la
09:41force with the
09:41report thanks ali you'll probably hear about that shot selection when it gets back to the bench
09:47maybe not their best option and there it is for him and now a 12-point los angeles lead well
09:54they
09:54haven't wasted any time building an early lead no matter what's been thrown at them defensively
10:00they've had an answer bailey's shot is off los angeles has gone one of two from three-point land so
10:07far
10:08the shot by ingram no good gone two of five from deep back to bailey marshall outside
10:20from about 19
10:24second chance shot and the jumper is on the mark
10:31and ingram has got the ball here for los angeles it's a 10-point game
10:47the wide open shot is on the money ingram's got 12 points well so far they've been great at both
10:54it can't let up now they just have to keep the momentum going a big time effort for brandon ingram
11:01providing a lot of energy for los angeles he made a big impact scoring 12 points in the quarter
11:07back to the game after this break
11:17you
11:18so
11:41and if you're just tuning in we've got a wide margin on the scoreboard
11:45but plenty of time left for a comeback and guys we've seen a confident looking clippers team out
11:50there well slow clap for their defense they've been awesome it's tough to avoid breakdowns at
11:57that end of the floor this is all five guys tied together very well
12:08unable to get the ball in bounds and they got called for a five second violation uh that's a
12:14big time no-no boy that was more mental than physical for sure you gotta lock back in now
12:22off the inbound again los angeles brandon ingram very confident in his mid-range jay he knows he
12:30can shoot from just about anywhere and get his shot whenever he wants to on the floor for the
12:35clippers chris dunn is out there with max truce then there's derrick jones then there's isaiah
12:40jackson and it's ingram in at the three chris dunn shooting just 35 for the floor that's to riley
12:51back to marshall
12:54lets the three fly rebounded by dunn los angeles leading by 16 jackson outside
13:03nice ball movement by los angeles on the wing struis
13:11and they get it back to the inside ingram that basket is good off the assist from jackson jackson's
13:20got his third assist of the night buckets just not coming easy for him yeah you can tell they're
13:26pressing a little bit at this point jerome passes to melton good on the bucket melton's got his first
13:34points of the game that's too easy for melton the defense has to offer more resistance there
13:42pass to jackson now here's struis
13:48driving to the basket it's tipped and he's able to get it back jackson can't get it to go
13:54gone just one of three to begin the second quarter
13:58out of bounds it'll go to the clippers well it shows you how crucial communication is
14:03they clearly weren't on the same page there and los angeles making a change here
14:09konan niederhauser's checked in
14:17los angeles leading by 16
14:23quarter two and about two minutes in
14:30count it one for one to start the game well we've seen it before from them this game
14:35getting bullied in the paint yeah you can't say that with enough emphasis i mean the defenders are
14:41just not being aggressive enough down low you got to play with some physicality in the paint
14:46now here's jerome no made baskets yet highly good it's a little harder to draw fouls now than a few
14:53years back but how about intentional fouls club well you know i've we've seen the clear path and
14:59transition take rules i think be successful and be good for the game maybe the next thing the league
15:05i think should take a look at is the intentional foul the shack attack or the shack foul rule
15:12i'd like to see that perhaps be eliminated from the game border able to draw the whistle there because
15:19he's such a dynamic score and playmaker and he'll take his third and fourth free throws of the night
15:25he's off on the first reads checked in for riley and the clippers making a change here as well
15:30garland's checked in
15:43so he can't get either to fall you don't see him have too many of those trips to the line
15:47from deep struis and reed pulls it down reed's got five rebounds tonight jerome on the wing
15:57pass to porter
16:03here's smart
16:05oh nice smart slipping inside going to work in the lane smart's tough in there
16:16outside garland and once again off the mark by los angeles pass to reed
16:23back to jerome uses the glass to finish the layup
16:29and just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter
16:36garland for three
16:38and once again off the mark by los angeles
16:41what does garland bring to the offense when he's on the floor
16:44a ton of stuff ba i mean first and foremost tremendous create a great speed change of pace
16:49dribble tight handles he can find his shot when he needs to but he also enjoys setting his teammates up
16:55now here's garland pass to ingram
17:02and the clippers lead by eleven
17:08putting in the effort to get a second chance look
17:11nice
17:13miller the pass to reed
17:15to the middle
17:16here's jerome
17:19misses the layup
17:22los angeles has gone 0 for 4 from beyond the arc here in the second quarter
17:29pass to jones
17:31releases
17:33the shot by ingram no good
17:34surprising to see that he has so much room from mid-range
17:38i think he was surprised too
17:42from deep miller
17:44up again
17:45rebounded by kona niederhauser
17:47the clippers lead by 11
17:52left side ingram
17:53attacking with energy and holding nothing back
17:57boy i tell you what guys this is really getting close to being real ugly
18:01the home team calls timeout
18:05bailey's checked in for jerome
18:07and then for los angeles
18:08brooke lopez is checked in for niederhauser
18:11achimura comes in for jones
18:13and it's bradley beal in for ingram
18:24gone 5 of 10 in the second quarter
18:28smart passes to porter
18:32here's bailey
18:34it's rebounded by los angeles
18:36they led by as many as 18
18:39here's beal
18:42miller pulls it in
18:44miller's got five rebounds in the game
18:47reed passes to smart
18:52reed inside
18:53covered by lopez
18:55pass to porter
18:56bailey on the wing
18:57six to shoot
18:59off target from three point range
19:01the clippers lead by 13
19:04here's beal
19:06porter pulls it in
19:07well you want to work for something better there
19:10beware of those empty possessions up the floor
19:13i mean they can become contagious
19:15and the ball goes out of bounds
19:17last touch by lopez
19:28quarter of the pass to bailey
19:29inside
19:31and out of bounds
19:33the clippers will take it
19:35and if you want to know which players had the most success from distance last season
19:39here they are
19:40number five
19:41rui achimura
19:43well he's shot with nearly unmatched confidence from the arc last year
19:47and the numbers and his position on this list clearly reflect that
19:53now here's beal
19:58pass to garland
20:04he hits that one
20:05two for five now
20:06well this is why you can't give garland too much space
20:10especially in that in-between area
20:13miller finds porter
20:14down low
20:15here's reed
20:16and a foul called on the way up
20:18so he'll take two from the free throw line
20:21that's on brooke lopez
20:22he's 0 for 2 at the line in this one
20:32and he knocks down the first one
20:44both shots good from the strike
20:49121 left in the first half
20:50los angeles leading by 13
20:56garland with the ball
20:57sinks that one from the post
21:00garland's got four points this quarter
21:02getting it done inside
21:04garland just has a knack for finding angles and openings down there
21:11kicks it out to miller
21:12launches it
21:14it's hauled in by beal
21:17los angeles is gone
21:180 for 4 from beyond the arc here in the second quarter
21:21garland up top
21:23plenty of space
21:25and there's another one for the clippers
21:27over the course of the game
21:28he's been very accurate
21:30doing some great stuff
21:32gone just 1 of 5
21:33so far this quarter from 3
21:35and they pick up 2
21:37smart has got his second basket
21:39well he got off to a slow start
21:41but now in the second
21:42he seems to be finding his rhythm
21:448 second difference
21:45between the shot clock and game clock
21:48beal no good
21:49yeah and they hold the lead in spite of his cold shooting night
21:53he has not been able to get it going
21:55the 3 ball
21:58rebound by the clippers
21:59streus has got 4 rebounds now
22:01here's garland
22:02played it in with a nice touch off the window
22:06garland's got 10 points in the game
22:07well they're just not letting up
22:10this is called wearing out
22:12wearing down your opponent
22:14they've been impressive
22:15a dominating first half of play
22:17and so far it hasn't been close
22:19it's los angeles
22:21leading by 17
22:23let's send it courtside
22:24and check in with
22:25Allie LaForce
22:26Allie what do you have
22:27I'm here with Coach Tyloo
22:28and Coach your team seems to be
22:30dictating the tempo of the game thus far
22:32are you happy with that aspect right now
22:35yes I think we've got to get stops
22:37push the pace
22:38try to get early transition points
22:39if we can
22:40and then if not
22:41back it out and run our offense
22:42but we want to play with a
22:43with a high pace
22:44and a high energy
22:44and I think our guys are doing a good job
22:46of that right now
22:48they have a pep in their step early
22:49thanks coach
22:51Allie as always
22:52thank you
22:52we'll be right back
22:53to begin the third quarter
22:55right after this
22:57welcome to the Kia Halftime Show
23:04two quarters of play completed
23:06as we welcome you to take a look
23:08at some of the upcoming games
23:10on the schedule
23:12out in Portland
23:13it'll be the Trailblazers
23:15against the Pistons
23:16that one tips off
23:18at 7 p.m. Eastern
23:20I'm looking for a possible
23:21upset in that one
23:25now let's talk about
23:26that first half
23:27what an impressive
23:28performance for the Clippers
23:31they're clicking
23:32offensively
23:33making the right decisions
23:34and of course
23:35making shots
23:36and they say
23:37it's a make or miss league
23:38and that's mostly true
23:42thanks for tuning in
23:44now we head back to
23:45Brian Anderson
23:45for the start of the third quarter
24:02and with the second half upon us
24:04we'll find out if this game
24:05becomes the route
24:06that it's threatening to be
24:07boy this has been
24:08one outstanding game
24:10from Brandon Ingram
24:11they typically rely on
24:12his offensive production
24:14and tonight has been
24:15no difference
24:16boy he's had a mix
24:18of easy buckets
24:18and some that he had
24:19to work for
24:20he's in it
24:33and as we dive into
24:34the second half
24:35we'll find out
24:36if the next two quarters
24:37are any different
24:38from the first two
24:38so far it's been a runaway
24:40Ace Bailey is out there
24:42with Kevin Porter
24:42then it's Paul Reed
24:44then it's Miller
24:45and it's smart
24:46and it's small forward
24:47and that's how you move the ball
24:48putting the defense
24:49in a really tough spot
24:51the Clippers lead by 15
24:52and for the Clippers
24:54Hachimura the four
24:55with Lopez serving as center
24:56Bradley Beals out there
24:58with Darius Garland
24:59and it's Ingram
25:00in at the three
25:01now here's Ingram
25:04offensive board
25:07here's Lopez
25:08and finally they hit one
25:11Lopez has got five now
25:13everything they've done tonight
25:15has started with their rebound
25:16yeah you look across the board
25:18it's actually sizing up
25:20shaping up to be a great game
25:21I mean
25:22strong performances throughout
25:24and they've really been strong
25:25on the glass
25:30outside Garland
25:324-3
25:34Miller pulls it in
25:37Miller's got his sixth rebound
25:38on the night
25:40Bailey the pass to Miller
25:41back to Bailey
25:43now Reed
25:45smart
25:45outside
25:47pass to Reed
25:49and here's Porter outside
25:52rebounded by Lopez
25:53Los Angeles
25:54leading by 17
25:57here's Ingram
25:59second chance effort
26:00and he lays it up
26:02and in
26:03Ingram's got 20
26:05look they've given up
26:06eight of the last ten points
26:07on the interior
26:08that can't continue
26:10sometimes you just got to man up
26:12and take a tough foul
26:13in order to stop
26:14these three runs
26:15to the rim
26:15alright let's get a report
26:17from Allie
26:17thanks guys
26:18Rui Hachimura is embracing
26:20his role
26:20he said I used to think
26:22I haven't touched the ball
26:23but now I think
26:24okay
26:24help defense
26:25fox out
26:26rebound
26:26those keep me in the game
26:28so then when I do get the ball
26:29I'm still in rhythm
26:30I just have to embrace
26:32doing whatever it takes
26:33to win
26:33Brian back to you
26:34he can heat up
26:35in a hurry
26:36alright Allie
26:36thanks for the report
26:37the home team calls
26:39time out
26:52and we're just about
26:53two minutes into the final
26:54half of play now
26:57Porter finds Smart
27:00back to Porter
27:01over Garland
27:03Porter's shot is off
27:05well a cold streak
27:06can affect your confidence
27:07and I think
27:09that's what we're seeing
27:10you know so much
27:11of this game is mental
27:12but I think
27:13an easy basket
27:14could snap him
27:15right out of it
27:16well that makes it
27:17five straight makes inside
27:19that's efficient offense
27:21and on the flip side
27:23the defenders
27:23have to show more fight
27:25on the interior
27:26they've got to offer
27:26more resistance here
27:27now here's Smart
27:32outside Porter
27:33pass to Miller
27:34five to shoot
27:37now Bailey
27:38hounded by Beal
27:39and they'll turn it over
27:40couldn't get the shot off
27:42a shot clock violation
27:44and now let's glance
27:45at the league's
27:46most aggressive
27:47defensive teams
27:48from last year
27:48and their gritty mentality
27:50when it came to defense
27:52was really infectious
27:53they were the best
27:55last year
27:55at holding opposing teams
27:57to low scoring totals
28:00now here's Beal
28:01they lead by 24
28:03their biggest margin
28:05Miller pulls it in
28:07Miller's got his
28:08seventh rebound
28:09here tonight
28:10to stop the drought
28:11and that's two points
28:13on the layup
28:14Miller's got his
28:15third bucket of the night
28:17and so Garland
28:19will bring it up
28:19for the Clippers
28:21just four points
28:22that's all they've
28:23given up here
28:23in the second half
28:26Lopez
28:27the screen
28:28the drive by Ingram
28:29can't connect
28:30from 13 feet out
28:31he's having trouble
28:32getting anything
28:33to go right now
28:37pass to Bailey
28:38to the paint
28:39here's Reed
28:41Achimura
28:42with a rebound
28:42the Clippers lead
28:43by 22
28:48now Garland
28:4913 points in the game
28:52Lopez
28:53the screen on Smart
28:55the shot by Ingram
28:56no good
28:57I wouldn't count on him
28:58missing the mid-range
28:59shot again
29:00that's a good look
29:01for him
29:03pass to Porter
29:04back to Bailey
29:06now Smart
29:09here's Miller
29:10outside
29:11the Clippers
29:12grab the miss
29:13Ingram's got
29:14five rebounds
29:15in the game
29:19there's so much
29:20talent in this
29:21league Clark
29:21some guys can
29:22get overlooked
29:23so who's underrated
29:24in your mind
29:25there are so many
29:26outstanding players
29:27that don't get
29:28the top billing
29:29on the marquee
29:29there's only so much
29:30room for star billing
29:31but there are a lot
29:32of players that
29:33actually play like
29:35stars on a regular
29:36basis
29:37I mean I love
29:37Josh Hart
29:38he's only one of
29:39the top rebounders
29:40in the game
29:40and he's only 6'5
29:42I loved him
29:42from the time
29:43I saw him in college
29:44because he just
29:45plays with great
29:46energy
29:46and gets a lot
29:47done at both
29:49ends of the floor
29:50that impact
29:51win
29:51Jerome's checked
29:52in for Porter Jr.
29:54and then for Los
29:54Angeles
29:55Jackson
29:55he's checked
29:56in for Lopez
29:57Jones comes in
29:58for Achimura
29:59and it's Struis
30:00in for Beal
30:01now here's Miller
30:037 points in this
30:04one
30:05knocks down
30:06the triple
30:07Bailey's got 5
30:08well the defense
30:09was a little soft
30:10he felt free
30:12to take that shot
30:16Garland up top
30:17this one for 3
30:19Miller pulls it in
30:21Miller's got rebound
30:22number 8 here
30:23already in the game
30:24Reed passes to
30:25Bailey
30:25and here's Jerome
30:28smart for 3
30:30rebounded by
30:31Ingram
30:32Ingram's got 6
30:33rebounds now
30:34in the game
30:38Garland scanning
30:39the floor
30:39going inside
30:41here's Jackson
30:42got a piece of it
30:47Miller outside
30:51smart outside
30:53back to Miller
30:55pass to Jerome
30:58yes
30:59and it's Miller
31:00picking up the assist
31:016 points for him
31:03well placed pass
31:04in the hands
31:05of a guy
31:05ready to attack
31:08Garland for 3
31:09good
31:10and he's hit
31:118 of 14
31:12now
31:12a solid
31:13offensive
31:13performance
31:14he's guarding
31:15the field
31:15he's in a groove
31:16here in the
31:16second half
31:19Struis grabs
31:20the miss
31:22Struis has got
31:22rebound number
31:235 here tonight
31:24nice ball
31:25movement by
31:26Los Angeles
31:26Jackson
31:27gets the
31:28bucket
31:28well defensively
31:30no real challenge
31:31at the rim
31:32I don't know
31:33what they're
31:33thinking
31:33well objective
31:35numero uno
31:36for them
31:36protect the
31:38paint
31:38the home
31:39team calls
31:39timeout
31:44done
31:45he's checked
31:45in for
31:46Darius Garland
32:01a minute
32:0231 left
32:03in the
32:03third
32:06knocks it
32:07loose
32:07it's stolen
32:08by Dunn
32:09passed to
32:10Struis
32:11finished off
32:12the break
32:13Struis has
32:14gotten his
32:14third basket
32:15of the night
32:15and guys
32:17what do you
32:17think about
32:17the hustle
32:18stats for
32:18the Clippers
32:19well I'll tell
32:20you the
32:20defensive pressure
32:22they've applied
32:22can't be
32:23overstated
32:24the ball
32:25never felt
32:25safe with
32:26the way
32:26they were
32:27constantly
32:27stripping it
32:28away
32:29the shooting's
32:29been great
32:30but also
32:30how about
32:31the energy
32:31level
32:32that's what
32:32impressed me
32:33the most
32:33they've been
32:34getting it up
32:34and down
32:35in transition
32:36and that
32:36takes effort
32:37now here's
32:38Dunn
32:38no points
32:40yet
32:40Jones
32:41the pass
32:41to Jackson
32:46there's 45
32:47seconds left
32:48in the third
32:48and that
32:49one's good
32:50Ingram
32:50making it
32:51look so
32:52easy right
32:52now
32:52once Ingram
32:53catches fire
32:54like this
32:54he finds
32:55ways to
32:56stay hot
32:59Jerome
32:59passes to
33:00Marshall
33:04Bailey on
33:05the wing
33:05covered by
33:06Struis
33:06well they
33:07dominated the
33:08rebounding
33:09battle and it's
33:10reflected in the
33:11score
33:11and what I like
33:12about it
33:12it's been a
33:13physical
33:13brand of
33:14basketball
33:15it's had a
33:16little sandpaper
33:17element to it
33:18gritty and
33:19rough but that's
33:20how you win
33:21games
33:21it's time to
33:22take a glance
33:23again at that
33:24superb lock
33:25well that'll
33:26have the
33:26offense thinking
33:27twice about
33:27trying to
33:28score in
33:29his
33:29number 14
33:47outside for
33:48Ingram
33:49and Los
33:50Angeles
33:50another three
33:51well you look
33:52at the form on
33:53Ingram's catch and
33:54shoot jumpers
33:54it's textbook
33:55he's got excellent
33:56posture
33:57his hands are in a
33:58good position and
33:59most importantly
34:00he's ready to
34:01shoot it when he
34:01catches it
34:02three-pointer
34:03Marshall with the
34:04bucket
34:04Marshall's got
34:05five
34:06nice setup
34:07excellent team
34:08basketball
34:09and so it's the
34:11Los Angeles
34:11Clippers
34:12up 25 big ones
34:14as we head into
34:15the next period
34:16defense is setting
34:17the tone
34:18and more NBA
34:19action on 2k
34:20sports
34:21coming your way
34:22right after this
34:43and now let's
34:44listen in to
34:45Ty Lue in the
34:46huddle
34:46you gotta make
34:46the right play
34:47like you've been
34:47doing all night
34:48all right
34:48you're gonna try
34:49to help and tag
34:50you gotta make
34:50the right play
34:51finish or make
34:51the right pass
34:52all right
34:54well there may
34:55not be a lot of
34:56drama down the
34:56stretch as we
34:57head into the
34:58fourth quarter
34:58but stranger
34:59things have
34:59happened
35:00they've got
35:01Najee Marshall
35:01Ty Jerome is
35:03out there with
35:03Kevin Porter
35:04then there's
35:05the Dimbona
35:05and it's Riley
35:06in the power
35:07forward
35:07and with the
35:08size Don
35:08possesses
35:09it allows him
35:10to see the
35:10floor really
35:11well
35:11so good
35:12at setting
35:12his guys
35:13up for
35:13quality shots
35:14as a result
35:15shooting just
35:16under 40%
35:17from the field
35:18past Dimbona
35:19here's Riley
35:20defended by
35:20Jones
35:22Riley's shot
35:22is off
35:24well the
35:25Clippers
35:25shooting it
35:25at 52%
35:27outside Ingram
35:31goes up
35:32and lays it
35:33in nice
35:33and easy
35:34Ingram's got
35:3527 points
35:36yeah you know
35:37he's slight of
35:38build
35:38lanky and long
35:39and athletic
35:40but he still
35:41finishes through
35:41contact and
35:42he's not afraid
35:43to go in there
35:44and take the hit
35:45either
35:46Riley's shot
35:46is off
35:47Riley's gone
35:48just one
35:49for four
35:49so far
35:50from deep
35:51Struis
35:52the rebound
35:53by Riley
35:54you wonder
35:55where was
35:55the defense
35:56that time
35:57but they
35:57got lucky
35:59the three
36:00is up
36:01the shot
36:02no good
36:02really good
36:03shot contest
36:04there
36:04made it
36:05tough
36:05for the
36:05shooter
36:07here's
36:07Struis
36:09wasted no
36:10time with
36:10that shot
36:11but it's
36:11off the
36:11mark
36:11yeah not
36:12his best
36:13night
36:13in terms
36:14of shot
36:14selection
36:15lucky for
36:16him
36:16his teammates
36:17have picked
36:17up the slack
36:18pass to Jerome
36:19three pointer
36:21rebounded by
36:22Dunn
36:23for Los Angeles
36:25they've gotten
36:25half of their
36:26attempts to fall
36:27in the fourth
36:27two for four
36:28now
36:29the shot
36:30by Ingram
36:30no good
36:31got none
36:32of their shots
36:33to go in this
36:33final quarter
36:340 for 4
36:36here's Porter
36:40there's the block
36:44Struis
36:44the pass
36:45to Dunn
36:45here's Conan
36:46Niederhauser
36:46and he makes
36:47no mistake
36:48slam dunk
36:50well he was
36:51locked in
36:52on that one
36:53look out
36:55just clear the
36:56way when he
36:56takes flight
36:57pass to Bona
37:00and that goes
37:01out of bounds
37:02the leads
37:03checked in
37:03for Bona
37:04Logler's checked
37:05in for Los Angeles
37:14it's picked
37:15off
37:18here's Struis
37:21Dunn left
37:22side
37:23up and over
37:24Porter
37:26pass to
37:26Wogler
37:27clock at six
37:28tries again
37:29and there's
37:31the rejection
37:32and it's
37:33out of bounds
37:33to the Clippers
37:34as the Clippers
37:35retain possession
37:36and you've got
37:36to be in awe
37:37of incredible
37:38defensive efforts
37:39like this
37:39and when you're
37:41behind in the game
37:41that's what you've
37:42got to do
37:43contest every shot
37:44and get stopped
37:46Broom's checked
37:46in for the Clippers
38:00just over two
38:01and a half minutes
38:02played now
38:02final quarter
38:03of regulation

38:07the pass
38:08to Marshall
38:09to the middle
38:10here's Riley
38:12off the mark
38:13and the drought
38:13continues
38:14well he just
38:15doesn't have it
38:16right now
38:16it's as simple
38:17as that
38:18and his team
38:19is struggling
38:19as a result
38:22with a nine
38:23footer
38:23tipped
38:27on the wing
38:28Porter
38:29pass to Riley
38:33now here's Reed
38:34Marshall on the wing
38:35Jerome outside
38:38shot clock
38:39at six
38:40and Kevin
38:41Porter
38:41picks up the
38:42foul
38:42that's his
38:43first foul
38:44well I would say
38:45ever since the
38:46break
38:46they've lost
38:47focus
38:48and that's
38:49led to
38:49turnovers
38:50and Los Angeles
38:51making a change
38:52here
38:53Jackson is
38:54checked in
38:55well Los Angeles
38:56shooting around
38:57thirty percent
38:58since the fourth
38:59quarter got
38:59underway
39:01Dunn goes in
39:05outside Jones
39:06puts up a three
39:07and Reed pulls it
39:09down
39:10Reed's got
39:11rebound number
39:11twelve here
39:12already in the game
39:13oh nice
39:14shot by Miller
39:15way to take
39:16advantage of the
39:17opportunity
39:18and finish
39:19strong at the rim
39:20look he realized
39:22if he could get up
39:23the court in a hurry
39:24he'd get an easy
39:24bucket as a result
39:26here's Wogler
39:27pass to Dunn
39:28lets it go from deep
39:29drains the triple
39:31boy how about
39:32Chris Dunn
39:33getting the ball
39:34in a great spot
39:35making the deep
39:36attempt
39:36look elementary
39:39going 0 for 3
39:40here on the fourth
39:42here's Smart
39:46and Stan when you
39:47think about how
39:48connected we are
39:49these days
39:50players are exposed
39:51to a lot more
39:52publicity than in
39:53the past
39:53we talk about it
39:55all the time
39:56mental toughness
39:57and this is part
39:58of it
39:59players are faced
40:00with more criticism
40:02on a daily basis
40:03than they ever have
40:05been in the league
40:06and the players
40:07who can fight
40:08through that
40:09or tune it out
40:11are going to be
40:12better
40:12and even the coaches
40:14and broadcasters
40:16you said it
40:17Reed no good
40:19well listen
40:20their effort level
40:21the way they're
40:22dominating the boards
40:23that's what has
40:25changed this game
40:26guys that's putting
40:27it mildly
40:28I mean they've been
40:28absolutely dominant
40:30now here's Struis
40:31goes back up
40:34Porter pulls it in
40:36Porter's got four
40:37rebounds now
40:38well with this team
40:39leading he might
40:40just want to put
40:41that one in his
40:42pocket
40:43that one falls
40:44Porter Jr.
40:45won't be denied
40:46of that bucket
40:47fearless
40:47even around the
40:49big body
40:53done with it
40:54Porter's there
40:55that shot by
40:56done
40:57no good
40:59gone only
41:00one of four
41:00from the perimeter
41:01here in this
41:01fourth quarter
41:02and that one's
41:03good
41:03Miller
41:04look when you
41:05play as a team
41:05good things
41:06tend to happen
41:07for you
41:09to the inside
41:13right side
41:14Jones
41:16again
41:16with the block
41:17a defensive
41:19stalwart
41:20so far
41:20that's six blocks
41:22protecting the rim
41:24well
41:24love the hustle
41:25some changes
41:26for Los Angeles
41:27Dick comes in
41:28for Struis
41:29and it's Sanders
41:30in for Dunn
41:31Isaiah Jackson
41:33shooting
41:34line the lane
41:44Clark there's been a call
41:45for colleges
41:46to protect academic
41:47freedom for student
41:48athletes
41:49it affects all students
41:50including the
41:51athletes
41:52I agree
41:53one of the prime
41:53benefits
41:54of the college
41:55experience
41:56is exposure
41:57to the education
41:59that takes place
42:00outside of the
42:01classroom
42:02different ideas
42:03different cultures
42:04different people
42:04a chance to broaden
42:06your horizons
42:07and gain valuable
42:08perspective
42:09and experience
42:11education is
42:12multifaceted
42:13and college gives you
42:15a canvas
42:16in which you can
42:17experience that
42:18and it typically
42:20has great value
42:21for the entirety
42:22of your life
42:23now here's Jackson
42:26and a nice finish
42:28on the layup
42:28Jackson's got five
42:30points in the quarter
42:30and this one has been
42:32over for a while now
42:33pure dominance
42:35from them
42:35they should be proud
42:36for this win
42:37an absolute
42:38blowout
42:39they were in
42:40total control
42:41and just never
42:42took their foot
42:43off the gas
42:44and so this win
42:45marks their first
42:46victory of the new year
42:48one down
42:49one to go
42:49for them
42:50in the season series
42:51when it is
42:52just a two game
42:53season series
42:53the team winning
42:54game one
42:55has that
42:55bright mental edge
42:56going into the
42:57second meeting
42:58knowing
42:58they've already
42:59solved their opponent
43:00one time
43:01and only have to
43:02do it one more time
43:03and when you look
43:03at the game
43:04the one thing
43:05that helped fuel
43:05this team to victory
43:06was the efficiency
43:08for Brandon Ingram
43:09the scoring effort
43:10from him was
43:11unreal
43:12carrying this team
43:14he was amazing
43:16today
43:16up top
43:17tick
43:18from the high
43:19post
43:20and off the
43:21front iron
43:22and in it goes
43:23late in this game
43:24they've dialed up
43:25the volume
43:26that's how you
43:27want to finish
43:28what a time
43:29to put the hammer
43:30down
43:30smashing
43:31any hope
43:32of a comeback
43:33they finally
43:34kick it into gear
43:35but the game's
43:36out of reach
43:37now
43:37they're also
43:38going up
43:39against a team
43:40that feels
43:40they've already
43:41won
43:42here's
43:42Wogler
43:45pass to Jackson
43:47and he takes
43:48it in for the
43:48layup
43:49off a very
43:49nice feed
43:50well they came
43:51in with energy
43:52and they've been
43:53able to sustain
43:54it
43:54yeah it's tough
43:55to close it out
43:56on the road
43:57but they've just
43:58been the better
43:58team tonight
43:59Miller with the
44:00bucket
44:01he's a big guy
44:02with some serious
44:03range
44:03so you have to
44:04respect him
44:04from out there
44:08here's Sanders
44:15so it's the
44:16Clippers
44:16winning this
44:17one easily
44:18they came
44:18into this
44:19building
44:19and simply
44:20dominated
44:21well if you
44:22want a blueprint
44:22for how to
44:23play on the
44:24road
44:24just rewatch
44:25this game
44:26textbook performance
44:27in hostile territory
44:28and that'll do it
44:30for this inaugural
44:31game of the
44:31NBA season
44:32this is
44:33Brian Anderson
44:34for Stan Van Gundy
44:35Clark Kellogg
