00:02Hi everyone, welcome to our broadcast with a twist on tonight's game.
00:06It'll count towards the NBA Cup.
00:10I'm Kevin Harlan and I'll be joined by Greg Anthony and Hall of Famer Doris Burke.
00:15Also check in with Allie LaForce on the sidelines.
00:19Short a rotation play.
00:21Nothing that they can't overcome, but it does shrink their margin for error just a bit.
00:26But compensating for the absence of a key player can be difficult, but they've got to hold strong.
00:33Now the starting group for the Milwaukee Bucks.
00:35In the backcourt corner, it's Rollins and Hero.
00:39Turner is out there with Jaime Hockett.
00:41And it's Levert in at the three, the small four.
00:44Miller is out there with Paul Reed.
00:46Then it's Marcus Smart.
00:48Then there's Kevin Porter.
00:49And it's Bailey in at the two.
00:51Now here we are, Doris, doing the very early stages of this season.
00:55What do you make of it so far?
00:57What's your analysis?
00:58One of my favorite things at this time of year, Kevin, is to watch the guys that have joined new
01:03teams over the summer.
01:05How quickly are they acclimated to the new system and the new personnel around them and the other partners?
01:11What are these young, talented rookies doing?
01:14So lots to see at the start of the season.
01:17And so the Milwaukee Bucks get the first points of the ballgame.
01:20Porter, no luck.
01:23Rollins, the pass to Hero.
01:26Here's Levert, covered by Miller.
01:30Misses the three.
01:34Bailey passes it to Reed.
01:37Back to Bailey.
01:38Over Turner.
01:39And Bailey gets it to go on the axis from Reed.
01:42And Bailey has never seen a shot he didn't like.
01:45He wants to score as often as possible.
01:49Inside.
01:50Here's Levert.
01:51And it's blocked.
01:53And that's out of bounds.
01:53Milwaukee will retain possession.
01:55And a whole season still ahead of us.
01:57But it's well worth seeing how the updated power rankings shake out.
02:01And look at the Nets.
02:02They've achieved some upward momentum.
02:04Climbing to the fifth spot on the board.
02:06Well, seeing where this home team is right now.
02:09They're just hanging steady.
02:11Middle of the path.
02:13Middle of the road.
02:14Call it what you want.
02:15That's where they find themselves.
02:18Now, here's Levert.
02:19Locked again.
02:22It's three out through on the fast break.
02:26Pass to Bailey.
02:29That's good.
02:30And Smiller with the assist.
02:32Bailey's got his second basket of the night.
02:34And at about 6'9".
02:35Bailey is good at using that size inside.
02:39Looking like a polished bet on that take.
02:43Here's Turner.
02:45Banked in off the glass.
02:47Turner's got his second bucket of the game to go.
02:49Taking it up strong here early on.
02:52When this guy sees an opening, boy, he does not hesitate.
02:56Love it.
02:57Now, here's Porter.
02:59Miller dishes to read.
03:02A tan short, but it's good off the front iron.
03:04And just a step ahead of the D in that possession there.
03:09Making the pass.
03:10Nice assist.
03:11I'm told now by our producer.
03:12Do we have him, guys?
03:13Okay, we do.
03:14We have a call coming in from Shams Charani.
03:17Shams, thanks for joining us.
03:18What do you have?
03:19Well, guys, the Bucs with a new chapter post Giannis.
03:22Despite the sting of trading away the greatest player in franchise history,
03:26the page has been turned.
03:28Now it's time for this young roster with a ton of promising perimeter talent
03:32to make it, smart.
03:34Wow, a tall order indeed.
03:36All right, Shams, we thank you very much for that report.
03:40Well, his shot looks deadly right now.
03:42Already, he's hit three of four to start.
03:46Pass to Reed.
03:47Miller outside.
03:49A three.
03:51The rebound by Tyler Hero.
03:54Looking at the last game for Milwaukee.
03:56It was a loss to the Bulls.
04:01Collins with it.
04:04Outside Hero.
04:06And trying for the go-ahead basket.
04:08It doesn't go in.
04:10Got a four of six field goal.
04:12That's the drop in the first quarter.
04:14And the basket by Bailey.
04:17And first quarter, we're about three and a half minutes in.
04:24Now, Hero.
04:25No scoring in this one.
04:29Sheets from the elbow.
04:31Hero can't get that one to fall.
04:34Gone five of seven today so far.
04:36Nice shooting to get this game underway.
04:38Goes out of bounds.
04:39He's that one off reverse.
04:41A moment now to see the numbers for Smart.
04:43How he performed last season.
04:45Last season, put up about nine points a game.
04:48Three assists and two rebounds.
04:50And what a luxury for them to have someone like him who can absolutely fill it up coming off the
04:56beat.
04:56I love it.
04:58He knows they're looking for him to bring immediate offense.
05:01And he very rarely disappoints.
05:04Here's Rollins.
05:11Outside Hero.
05:14Let's the three fly.
05:16Never missing a couple now.
05:17He's on the board with that one.
05:20And a legitimate threat to connect from deep.
05:22Hero doesn't lack confidence trying his luck from there.
05:26Porter kicks to Miller.
05:30And the whistle blows.
05:31It's going to be on Harry Hopkins.
05:33That is his first foul of the game.
05:36First team foul.
05:51Outside Porter.
05:52Three-pointer.
05:54Rebounded by the Bucs.
05:59Now, Rollins.
06:00He has yet to score.
06:03And slams on Clint Rollins.
06:05Really special when your lead facilitator can do that.
06:10Buzz guy is capable of the spectacular.
06:13And my goodness, that was nicely done.
06:15Nice to see Porter Jr.
06:18Get aggressive.
06:19Not settle for a J.
06:20And take it into the defense.
06:23It's his first trip to the line.
06:28He's off on the first.
06:41He doesn't get the second one.
06:43And not what we're accustomed to seeing from him at all from the free throw line.
06:48And a wide open look for Hero.
06:50And again, Milwaukee with the triple.
06:53Time out, home team.
07:06With the stoppage in play, we have a chance now to show you which teams led the league in three
07:11-point percentage last year.
07:13The Bucs second.
07:14Their three-point accuracy last year was exceptional.
07:17Largely because of their patience.
07:19They would wait for the best look before pulling the trigger.
07:23Gone six of nine.
07:24Shooting it well.
07:27Miller finds Smart to stop the run.
07:31From downtown.
07:33And it's Miller missing.
07:35The Bucs leading.
07:37Greg, I'm sure their coach is very pleased with their offensive flow right now.
07:41I mean, it's harder than it looks to get it going like this.
07:45Now they just have to maintain it.
07:47Well, this is his bread and butter, folks.
07:49You know he's going to be hounding every missed opportunity.
07:53Here's Porter.
07:54An easy two points on the lane.
07:56Defenses try to test Porter's physicality.
08:00But he's adjusted well to it.
08:05Here's Rollins.
08:06Eight points is last outing.
08:08Pass to Levert.
08:09Trump passed the arc.
08:11And it's Reed pulling it down.
08:14Gone 0-3 from three-point land.
08:16Nothing yet going outside.
08:17Two points.
08:18That one goes.
08:21We've got 155 left in the first quarter.
08:27And here is Hero.
08:30Eight points last game.
08:31Doesn't go for him.
08:32Listen, things aren't going his way right now.
08:34But listen, you just keep going.
08:36Keep working at it.
08:38Greg, we know Tyler Hero is known as a shooter.
08:40But he's really upgraded his ball handling.
08:43To score 20 points for a game like he has, you need to be more than a spot-up shooter.
08:48And credit Tyler for expanding his offense.
08:51A nice shot by Levert.
08:53Now there's a reason Karis Levert shoots well from the field.
08:56This guy is great at kicking great opportunities.
09:01Miller, that's for two.
09:03And he pops that one in.
09:05Miller's got his second best.
09:07Guys, that's just really unstoppable.
09:09He poses a ton of match-up problems for whomever he's facing.
09:14And so the timeout by Taylor Jenkins.
09:17Goals needs a moment to talk things over.
09:20Both teams will make substitutions.
09:311-0-7 left here in the opening quarter.
09:37Here's Yaka Jonas.
09:39Trent outside.
09:46And he drops in the way up off the glass.
09:48Trent's got the game tied up here for the Bucs.
09:51Well, Trent Jr. has a reputation of being a shooter.
09:54But don't sleep on his athletic ability and skill.
09:56Nice finish inside.
09:58Thompson finds Marshall.
10:00Over Jang.
10:01That's good from Marshall on the assist by Thompson.
10:04Coaches love assisted buckets, boy.
10:07It just means the team is working well together.
10:11Hands in the high post.
10:14Oh, my goodness!
10:16What a play!
10:18And power down the jam.
10:19Now, just a terrific perspective of that dunk from the connected cam.
10:24Brought to you by AT&T.
10:27Now, here's Melton.
10:29Marshall passes to Melton.
10:32Here's Bona.
10:33Winner with the steal!
10:35Pass break.
10:36Milwaukee.
10:38And foul on the shot.
10:39He'll shoot two at the free throw line.
10:43The Bucs shooting their first free throws of the game.
10:45And he's shooting from Milwaukee.
10:54And he can't get the first one.
10:56The Bucs making a switch here.
11:07He hits the second from the line.
11:12Thompson with it.
11:14Pass to Bona.
11:16Back to Thompson.
11:20He gets it up.
11:25And great job of just staying alert.
11:30That was close.
11:30And what a boost to end the quarter.
11:33They will come out of the next period feeling very good.
11:37And at the end of one, both teams putting up some points.
11:40Up one.
11:41And the second quarter will get underway just after this short break.
12:04And this has been a fairly close game through the first quarter.
12:08And we'll see what happens here in the second.
12:09Guys, what's your take on the home team so far?
12:12Well, when you score the ball like this, you make yourself difficult to beat.
12:16Two things.
12:17The effort and the execution.
12:19Both have been high level.
12:26Everything has been sensational.
12:2875% for the game.
12:30De'Anthony Melton out there with top slot.
12:32And there's Riley.
12:33Then it's Najee Marshall.
12:35And it's Bona.
12:36In at the center.
12:37Going out the middle.
12:38And that one drops.
12:40Bona's got his first basket of the night.
12:44Bucs trail by three.
12:46And for the Bucs.
12:47They've got Gary Trent.
12:49Zhang is out there with Khalil Ware.
12:52Then there's Yonka Chokas.
12:53And it's Sims.
12:54And at the pivot spot.
12:55Manning the middle.
12:57We've got Najee Marshall.
12:59Thompson is out there with the Anthony Melton.
13:01Then there's Riley.
13:02And it's Bona.
13:03In at the five spot.
13:07Mr. Ware.
13:12Here's Sims.
13:14Still scoreless.
13:16Here's Trent.
13:17And a couple of nice buckets already for him.
13:20He's two for two.
13:22Here's Melton.
13:26Just over a minute gone here in the second quarter.
13:29Top of the key.
13:31Yep.
13:31That one goes.
13:36Here's Yonka Chonis.
13:38Nine points.
13:39Last game out.
13:42Plays it up.
13:43Off the glass.
13:44Yonka Chonis has got his second bucket.
13:47Timeout point to you.
14:03I'm going to check out the stats for Tyler Hero.
14:05Last season he played outstanding.
14:08He put up about 20 points a game.
14:11Four assists and four rebounds.
14:12And he's also a bit of a stopper defensively.
14:16They put him in.
14:17And their defense really tightens up.
14:19This presence gives them a lot of flexibility on the defensive end.
14:23Makes it easier for them to hide some of their weaker defenders.
14:27Every team in this league, Greg, values length.
14:32Why is that?
14:33Kevin, it is a huge help defensively.
14:36The longer a player is, the more ground and airspace they can cover.
14:41Normally the best defenders have really long wings for him.
14:45Marshall gets the bucket.
14:47That's almost automatic any time he can get the ball in that position.
14:51Bucks trail by five.
14:54Here's Hero.
14:56And the layup falls.
14:58Hero's got eight points.
15:01And here in the second quarter of action with a hair under two and a half minutes played so far.
15:05Here's Riley.
15:07And that will be two free throws coming up.
15:09Officials on the call with the foul.
15:11First personal foul.
15:12First team foul.
15:15At the line for two.
15:17Hooray!
15:34Hooray!
15:36And he knocks down the first one.
15:53Both shots.
15:54Good from a strike.
15:55Well, big man that makes their free throws.
15:58Bravo!
15:58Bucks trail by five.
16:03There's Hero with a three.
16:05Sinks the three-pointer.
16:07He's got 11.
16:08In that first quarter, he's dropped two threes.
16:10Now he has another to his credit.
16:12Now we'll hear it from Allie LaForce, and she's got a story for us.
16:15An update.
16:16Allie?
16:17Hey, guys.
16:17Ryan Rollins stands six foot three with almost a six foot ten wingspan.
16:21He said, I've been using that length my whole life.
16:23Being active on the defensive end and coming up with steals, blocks, and deflections.
16:28Those turn into easy offense.
16:29I'm a playmaker on both ends of the floor.
16:32Kevin, back over to you.
16:33Yeah, truly a two-way talent.
16:35Allie LaForce with the report.
16:37Hey, Allie, thanks.
16:41In low.
16:42Here's Smart.
16:43Good.
16:44And a nice assist from Porter.
16:46Porter's got three assists tonight.
16:48Well, you know Marcus Smart understands how to use his body inside.
16:52And I just love how he goes right up with the shot.
16:55Now here's Jang.
16:57And finished off by Jang.
16:59Every point counts right now in the game this time.
17:03I love that.
17:04Not settling.
17:05You have said, I'm going to attack in this moment.
17:09Here's Marshall.
17:10Four-point game.
17:13Pass break.
17:14Milwaukee.
17:18Hero against Smart.
17:19And good that time.
17:22Hero's got 13.
17:23And this is why many are high on Hero.
17:27Possesses ability to kick it up a notch and just take over.
17:31Over in the corner, Marshall.
17:33Hangs on the trifecta.
17:38Buck's trail by five.
17:40And so the timeout by Taylor Jenkins here.
17:43He's going to take a few moments here to check in with his team and regroup.
17:53A different look from Milwaukee.
17:55Miles Turner.
17:56He's checked in for Khalil Ware.
17:58And it's Levert in for Jang.
18:13He's playing.
18:14Baseline J on the way.
18:15And here's Hero.
18:16That's good on the assist by Turner.
18:1915 points in the game.
18:20He's starting to heat up now.
18:21He's been much more efficient with the shot in this quarter than in the first.
18:26Here's Miller
18:28The rebound by Turner
18:29Oh, rising up from the mid-range
18:32But doesn't exactly look confident about it
18:35And the shot is good
18:37Paquez has got four points now in the quarter
18:39I love it
18:40Instead of going, I show you
18:41Make a play for someone else
18:44Now, here is Miller
18:45Last game we saw him score a 14
18:50Here's Porter
18:52Master Smart
18:54That's his fourth basket of the game
18:56And he's only taken four shots
18:58Off to a good start
19:00Boy, how about the timing, the delivery
19:02That is exactly how you set a teammate up
19:05Here's Rollins
19:06Reed with the steal
19:10Down low
19:11Here's Smart
19:12Up and in with the jumper near the hoop
19:15Smart's got ten points
19:17I'll tell you, delivering the basketball
19:19In tight spots is not easy
19:21But he made it look that way
19:26Jaquez inside
19:27He's against Miller
19:29Jaquez with the bucket
19:30I'll tell you, an underrated thing right there
19:32How effective that screen was
19:35It just creates a lane to the cup
19:37Reed kicks to Smart
19:38The kick out to Porter
19:40Over Rollins
19:42To Porter, no luck
19:44Well, this guy typically a nice touch from mid-range
19:47But obviously can't make them all
19:49That's good by Hero
19:54Now here's Porter
19:58Pass to Miller
19:59And here's Reed
20:00Turner covering
20:01Here's Smart
20:02Gets the three-pointer to fall
20:05He's got 13
20:08Bucks trail by four
20:13Now Rollins
20:15Takes a three
20:17Miller grabs the miss
20:22Here's Bailey
20:23He's covered by Hero
20:25Let's it fly
20:26And the basket by Bailey
20:28Boy, what a sweet pass
20:30That one on time
20:31And on target
20:33Milwaukee's gone
20:34One or two on three-pointers
20:35Here in the second quarter
20:36So far
20:40Outside turn
20:44On the win
20:45Hopkins
20:47Hero from long range
20:48And it's Reed
20:50Going to die
20:52He's got his fourth rebound
20:54In this one
20:55Porter passes to Reed
20:57And they pick up two
20:59Wow, what a pass there
21:00He made that a very easy basket
21:03With that center
21:07They need this
21:08And Rollins with the lay-in
21:11Rollins got his second basket
21:12Of the game
21:13Come on now
21:14That's easy money
21:15There's a four-second difference
21:17From the shot clock
21:18To the game clock
21:19And that one's
21:20Thread by Porter
21:25And here's Hero
21:26He'll bring it up
21:27For Milwaukee
21:28Trailing here by eight
21:29Looking ahead
21:30They've got the Jazz
21:31Coming into town
21:32For the next game
21:39And he lays it
21:40Straight in
21:41Hero's got 19 points
21:43I love the spirit
21:44He's shown
21:45Tonight
21:46Particularly on the
21:47Offensive end
21:48And to me
21:49He's just playing smart
21:50Efficient basketball
21:52Really helping his team
21:53Hang around this one
21:54And so that brings
21:56The first half
21:56To a close
21:57Up eight
21:58We'll see you back here
22:00After the break
22:01For third quarter
22:02Basketball
22:10Kia presents
22:11The 2K Sports
22:13Halftime Report
22:17We'll get to the first half action
22:19In just a second
22:20But first
22:20Let's take a look
22:21At where teams
22:22Are sitting
22:22In the power rankings
22:26Well before we move
22:27On to the next part
22:28Of the show
22:29Hey Jet
22:29You get enough sleep
22:30Last night
22:32Why are you asking
22:33I'm a little tired
22:35But you know
22:35I'm a busy man
22:36Ernie
22:36You know
22:36I got a lot going on
22:37But I'm here
22:38Like what's going on
22:39I'm ready
22:40What are we doing here
22:41We're on now
22:42But don't worry about it
22:43You can sleep
22:44Behind the desk
22:45Nobody will even
22:46Notice you're gone
22:47Hey get him a pillow
22:48Come on fellas
22:50We got a job to do
22:51Take it a little
22:53Seriously
22:53Would you
22:54Bring me a pillow too
22:58And turning our attention
22:59To the first half
23:00Of our game tonight
23:01Bit of a tough start
23:03For the Bucks
23:04Where's the intensity
23:06At the defensive end
23:07They need to get a hand up
23:09And contest more shots
23:10Coach needs to encourage them
23:12To be better moving forward
23:13Just like I do with you guys
23:15I'd better put my feet up
23:16It's getting deep in here
23:24Thank you for being with us
23:25Now let's send it to
23:26Kevin Harlan
23:27For the second half tip
23:41We play through the first half
23:42Plenty of basketball though
23:43Left in this one
23:44We're seeing a tremendous game here
23:47From Tyler Hero
23:48Well he is dialed in from distance
23:51Looking very comfortable
23:52And as we begin the second half
23:55They have to continue
23:56To find him out there
24:18I think a mind boggling 79% off the floor
24:23On the court for the Bucks
24:24In the backcourt form
24:26It's Rollins and Hero
24:27Jaime Jaquez is out there
24:30With Turner
24:30And it's Levert
24:31In at the three spot
24:32Hero from long range
24:34Well that's the opportunity
24:36They're looking for
24:37Just not the result
24:38Obviously
24:39Miller and Hilli
24:40To down hard
24:41Plus just outstanding distribution
24:44From Marcus Smart
24:45Keeping his eyes peeled
24:47In order to find his guys
24:48In their spots
24:49For the paint
24:51Jaquez with the button
24:52Jaquez has got 10
24:55Aggressive move
24:56Coming out of the half
24:57Penetrating
24:58Into the heart
24:59Of the defense
25:00And I've got to believe
25:01That was something
25:02They talked about
25:03During the break
25:04Get him some good looks
25:05Into the paint
25:06Get into the heart
25:07Of the defense
25:07Beautiful
25:08Bucks trail by 10
25:14And if they're just joining
25:15As we plant over
25:16A minute here
25:16In the third
25:19And it's Levert
25:20Missing
25:21Sometimes you just
25:22Lose that little bit
25:24Of focus
25:24And this is what happens
25:25Porter gets to read
25:28Got a piece of it
25:30Turner with the steal
25:34And here's Levert
25:40Third quarter of play
25:41With just over a minute
25:42And a half gone by
25:43Uses the glass
25:44To finish the layup
25:45And he found
25:46The soft spot
25:47In the D
25:47On that possession
25:49Porter
25:50Dishes to Reed
25:53Outside quarter
25:56Pass to Reed
25:57Shoots over Turner
25:59A nice shot by Reed
26:00Eight points for him
26:02You love the start
26:03Of the second half
26:04Three for four
26:05Can they keep it going?
26:10Hero with it
26:11Nineteen points in the game
26:12Gets an open look
26:14And hits
26:15And when you watch
26:16Hero play
26:17It's no surprise
26:18He's a gym rat
26:19He can score from any spot
26:21On the floor
26:29It's time now to look
26:30At the NBA's
26:30Toughest defensive teams
26:31From a season ago
26:34Defense was their identity
26:35And that's how
26:36They're going to beat you
26:38And they did it better
26:39Than anyone
26:40In the league
26:46Gone three of four
26:47So far
26:47In the third quarter
26:48From the field
26:49Pretty good start
26:49To the hand
26:50Smart passes to Reed
26:53Here's Bailey
26:54Trains the 19-footer
26:56Twelve points
26:57For Ace Bailey
26:59Just under two and a half minutes
27:00Into the third quarter now
27:05Here's Rollins
27:09Misses in close
27:12Bailey finds Miller
27:14Here's Reed
27:15Rebound
27:16Rebound Milwaukee
27:17Turner's got six rebounds
27:19In the game
27:23Here's LaVert
27:24Count that one
27:26LaVert's got four points
27:27This quarter
27:28Harris LaVert's a crafty player
27:30This is a guy who knows
27:31How to get shots
27:32Over the interior defense
27:36Quarter passes to Bailey
27:38Fires top of the key
27:40Hawkins with the rebound
27:42Boy they've managed
27:43Without him to a degree
27:45Which bodes well
27:46For them overall
27:47A nice shot
27:48By LaVert
27:48LaVert is very skilled
27:50This guy is a capable
27:51Scorer who will let it fly
27:53If you give him room
27:54Porter passes to Miller
27:58Good
27:59And a nice assist
28:00From Porter
28:00Miller's got eight points
28:02Well guys love to score
28:04But the differentiator is
28:06Can you do it
28:07At an efficient clip
28:08And right now
28:09That's what's happening
28:10Yeah if you're playing
28:11That power forward position
28:12You overcome a lack of size
28:14With great hops
28:16To the left side lane
28:19Reed kicks to Miller
28:20Shoots over Hawkins
28:22And Miller gets it to go
28:25He's got ten
28:26Bucks trail by eight
28:32Now Rollins
28:36Outside
28:36Hero
28:38Pulls up on the wing
28:39Up again
28:40He hangs in there
28:41And cashes in on the
28:42Second chance points
28:43Well there's a level
28:45Of commitment
28:46That Miles Turner
28:46Is showing on the glass
28:48Right now
28:48Goes hard
28:49To get rebounds
28:50And get an opportunity
28:51For the putback
28:52They put it in
28:53In no time at all
28:54This guy is on fire
28:56Right now
28:56Defense has got to
28:57Step up and try
28:58To disrupt his rhythm
29:01A nice shot
29:02By Levert
29:03That's ten points
29:04For Karis Levert
29:05And you look at the
29:07Players coming
29:07Into the league
29:08Of late doors
29:09Who has caught your eye
29:10As being one to watch
29:11I think for me
29:12Concomitable attitude
29:14This is a guy
29:15In the era
29:16Of Steph Curry
29:16Who is now
29:17The rookie record holder
29:19For May triples
29:20Not only that
29:22His efficiency
29:23Has been
29:24And so
29:26The timeout
29:26By Taylor Jenkins
29:27Here
29:28He's going to take
29:29This chance
29:29To talk to his guys
29:36Marshall is checked in
29:37For Kevin Porter
29:38The Bucs also
29:39With the sub
29:40Jang's checked in
29:56Here's Jang
29:57Pass to Rollins
30:01Puts up a three
30:03Miller grabs the miss
30:06Miller's got his fourth
30:07And down with that
30:07Has to win here tonight
30:08Now Reid
30:11Now Marshall
30:12Levert defending
30:14Bailey passes to Miller
30:17From outside
30:18Off the mark
30:18Bucs trail by eight
30:21Pass to Rollins
30:25Off on the layup
30:28Gone eight of twelve
30:30From the field
30:30Since the beginning
30:31Of the third
30:31Now here is Miller
30:36Scores the bucket
30:37He's seven for eleven
30:38And continues to look good
30:39Here's Rollins
30:43Here's Hawkins
30:44Miller grabs the miss
30:49Now here is Reid
30:52Out to the right wing
30:55Shoots over Turner
30:56And I shot by Reid
30:58He's got ten points
31:00Boy how about that pass
31:02He put it right where it
31:03Needed to be
31:07Now here is Levert
31:09Bailey defending
31:11And it's Levert missing
31:13Well despite the miss
31:14Obviously the shot
31:15This offense looking
31:16To generate
31:17Is exactly that
31:18Trying to get open
31:19Is Miller
31:20That's good
31:21From Marshall
31:21On the assist
31:22From Smart
31:24Smart's got his
31:25Eighth assist
31:26In the game
31:28And so Levert
31:30Will bring it up
31:31For the Bucs
31:32It's a fourteen point game
31:34Paquez the pass
31:35To Chang
31:39Now here is Levert
31:41Tight defense on him
31:48Miller kicks to Reid
31:49Over Turner
31:50Nice shot by Reid
31:52He's got six points
31:54In the quarter
31:54And they're in the
31:55Driver's seat right now
31:57Continuing to add
31:58To this goal
31:59Feels like they have
32:00Been more aggressive
32:01And more focused
32:02It's been evident
32:03On both ends
32:04Some changes here
32:06For the Bucs
32:06Khalil Ware
32:07Checked in
32:08For Miles Turner
32:09Trent comes in
32:10For Jaime Hawkins
32:11And it's
32:12Yaga Jonas
32:13In for Rollins
32:16There's forty five
32:17Seconds left here
32:18In the third quarter
32:19Pass to Levert
32:21Here's Yaga Jonas
32:24Back to Levert
32:26To win
32:27The cold streak
32:28And he finishes
32:29Nicely
32:30On the way
32:30Twelve points
32:32For him
32:32After an ice cold
32:33Start to this game
32:34He is pouring it on
32:36Here in the second half
32:38Three
32:39Marshall
32:39That one is good
32:41He's only missed
32:41One shot of his
32:42Six taken on the floor
32:43Boy they are
32:45Imposing their will
32:46Boy this is how
32:47You build on a lead
32:49Right
32:49You stay aggressive
32:50No matter what
32:52The score is
32:56And here's Melton
32:59Pass to Marshall
33:00Back to Melton
33:02And here's Porter
33:07And as we end
33:09The third quarter
33:09A double digit deficit
33:11Will make it tough
33:12To come back
33:13Leading by seventeen
33:15And we're coming back
33:17In just a moment
33:17Get ready for the
33:18Fourth quarter of action
33:19When we return
33:20The third quarter of life
33:21It's Erica
33:28Of the
33:28The second quarter of the
33:37Is it okay?
33:38Hello
33:44La
33:45Remember
33:45It's about
34:13We'll see you next time.
34:20And a chance right now to show you our State Farm assist of the game.
34:25He knows exactly where the ball needs to go better than almost anyone.
34:30Well, it's one thing to know who to get the ball to.
34:33It's another to do it as well as he just did it there.
34:39And with the fourth quarter upon us, time is running out for this game to become competitive.
34:44Bucs trail by 17.
34:46They've got Kevin Porter.
34:48Riley is out there with Najee Marshall.
34:50Then it's DeAnthony Milton.
34:52And it's Bono in at the center position.
34:54And there's no hesitation from Hero.
34:57When the shot's there for him, he is looking to let it fly.
35:01Big shot on the way.
35:03And a kind roll that time off the rim as that one falls.
35:07And we always talk about making your teammate better.
35:10That assist was right on target.
35:12Here's Yaka Jonas.
35:14Beautiful dish.
35:15And the layup goes down.
35:17Oh, great job.
35:18Moving the rock by Hero.
35:20Not a ball stopper.
35:21Tyler is a team player.
35:24Quarter.
35:24Dishes to Marshall.
35:28Goes up from the top of the key.
35:30And he gets the bucket.
35:31You know, he hasn't taken as many shots tonight.
35:34But they're still ahead.
35:35And that means his teammates are delivering.
35:38This one for three.
35:40The shot by Yaka Jonas.
35:42No good.
35:43On 3-7 tonight from three-point territory.
35:48Here's Milton.
35:50Shot's good.
35:51Marshall making the play.
35:53Marshall's got five assists in the game.
35:55Bucks trail by 19.
36:00To the middle.
36:01Here's Ware.
36:02And he uses the glass on the layup.
36:04Ware's got his first points of the night.
36:06If a teammate's open in the painted area, you give him the basketball.
36:11Those are high-quality shots.
36:14Marshall finds Milton.
36:16Ships over Hero.
36:17Milton no good.
36:19That's a shot he's got to hit.
36:21You don't get many looks better from that range.
36:24Trent can't hit.
36:26Gone 3-4 in field goal attempts since getting things started here in the fourth.
36:32Near the three-point line.
36:33It's Porter.
36:34Make it 5-10 within that bucket.
36:36And it's Taylor Jenkins calling timeout here.
36:40It's a chance for them to regroup and refocus.
36:47The Bucks also at the sub.
36:49Turners check in for Trent.
37:03Bucks trail by 19.
37:08Turner inside.
37:09Reed covering.
37:11And yes, it's good.
37:15Just under two and a half minutes gone here in the final quarter.
37:19That's the Porter.
37:21Back to Reed.
37:24Shoots over Turner.
37:25Nice shot by Reed.
37:26That's a perfect mid-range jumper.
37:29All he needs is an inch of space.
37:32And they gave it to him.
37:36Hero with it.
37:41Now here's Jang.
37:43Turner with a screen for Jang.
37:45Outside Turner.
37:46Shot clock at 5.
37:48Jang tips it back in.
37:49He's not a game.
37:52Here's Porter.
37:57Pass to Melton.
37:59And Marshall kicks to Melton.
38:02Back to Marshall.
38:04Drills the baseline jumper.
38:09A bit under three and a half minutes have passed here in the fourth.
38:15Here's Yaka Jonas.
38:19There's Hero with a three.
38:21A shot that time.
38:22Not on target.
38:23He started out strong.
38:24Three threes the first half.
38:26But the long ball has disappeared on him since.
38:30Reed the pass to Melton.
38:32Shoots over with.
38:34Gets it to go.
38:35That one good for Melton.
38:37Melton's got six here in this quarter.
38:39Bucks trail by 21.
38:44That's to where.
38:45And here's Jang.
38:50Bucket is good.
38:52We've had some incredible scoring performances in this league, GA.
38:56Which one stands out to you the most?
38:59Well, I wasn't alive to see Wilt's 100.
39:02But I did see Colton's 81 and 83.
39:07What I will say is that Kobe's team needed him to score that much to win.
39:12There was some stat pad maybe in the other two.
39:15Looking at who's out there now for the Bucks.
39:18I mean, Jaquez, he's checked in for Khalil Ware.
39:21Harris Levert comes in for Jang.
39:23And Rollins subbed in for Yaka Jonas.
39:26Gotten seven of their eight shots to fall here on the fourth.
39:28A tremendous offensive output.
39:30And finished off by the quarter.
39:32When he's gone, KPJ is a deadly offensive player.
39:37Can beat you in so many ways, including off the bat.
39:43Hero from long range.
39:45Nailed from three-point land.
39:48Hero's got 26 points.
39:54Porter kicks to Miller.
39:56In the corner.
39:57Smart with it.
39:59Good.
39:59And a nice assist from Porter.
40:01Well, Marcus Smart will not let that last three go on answer.
40:05And he delivers one of his own.
40:09Here's Turner.
40:10And he battles with the ball and gets the second chance buckle.
40:13Turner's got four points in the quarter.
40:15Individually, he's trying to lift the team.
40:17You've got to love the effort.
40:19But thus far, not getting over the top.
40:22Two free throws coming up.
40:24And they call the shooting foul.
40:25You know what I love?
40:26Because Marcus Smart just continues to improve.
40:29We know he's a powerful athletic guard.
40:32But he wants to keep building different aspects of his game.
40:42And that one falls for Smart.
40:44So, G.A., here's an interesting stat.
40:46During the 25-26 season, I counted personally 18 sets of brothers in the NBA.
40:54Hey, that's incredible.
40:55And it's not by coincidence, right?
40:57I mean, growing up with a sibling to push you has to help.
41:01As does good parity.
41:03And, geez, they don't hurt either.
41:05Boy, I just love how Marcus Smart plays the game of basketball.
41:09He's aggressive.
41:10He's intelligent.
41:11And he doesn't mind getting under your skin.
41:15On four of eight tonight from three-point land.
41:17Shooting 50% on the three-ball here.
41:19Shots good by Miller.
41:21After taking some time to find his rhythm, he's been unstoppable since the break.
41:25Bucks trail by 21.
41:29Rollins with it.
41:30Now guarded by Porter.
41:35Rollins against Porter.
41:36And slam dunk by Rollins.
41:38And he's just so crafty.
41:40He knows how to play against sides.
41:44And those are the kinds of shots under duress that he works on every single day.
41:49The offensive rebound.
41:52Here's Reid.
41:54Throws up again.
41:55And Miller with a lay-in.
41:58Miller's got four points this quarter.
42:00And no mercy here.
42:02Just continuing to attack.
42:04When you have a lead, you keep your foot on the gash pedal.
42:07That's exactly what he's doing.
42:09Man, you lay that pass out there just like a great quarterback.
42:13Let your teammate run to it.
42:15Here's Porter.
42:17No good that time.
42:19Good work defensively by Turner.
42:21And so, LaVert will bring it up for the Bucks.
42:24Trailing by 19.
42:29Here's Turner.
42:30And that's in there.
42:32And you're not going to pass up that kind of plays.
42:36Gone four of eight tonight from three-point land.
42:38Shooting 50% on the three-ball here.
42:41Miller on side.
42:42He'll put it up there.
42:44Cleared away by Turner.
42:46And I'm not sure what he was thinking with that shot.
42:49Boy, you'd absolutely like to see them work for something better than that.
42:57Does not go.
43:00Smart anchor it passes.
43:02Greg are really paying off for them at the moment.
43:04And also good off-ball movement.
43:06Everyone is paying attention and looking to create the best shot for the team.
43:14Smart against LaVert.
43:15Smart against LaVert.
43:19Here's Rollins.
43:24Outside hero.
43:25Shot clock at six.
43:27It's deflected.
43:30Seven second difference.
43:32Shot in game block.
43:33And finished off by Bailey.
43:35Well, give them credit.
43:36They came in with a really good game plan.
43:39And boy, have they executed.
43:40This is what you call giving the fans their money's worth.
43:44The atmosphere in this arena has been electric.
43:49Here's your own.
43:50Plenty of space.
43:52Oh, and wide open.
43:53Nails the game.
44:03And so the home crowd treated to a win.
44:06They've won this game going away.
44:08They were the better basketball team by far.
44:10And you've got to commend this sort of dominance.
44:13Particularly here at home.
44:15It's a great feeling when you play almost a perfect game.
44:20And to have that crowd be so pumped up.
44:23And let's hear from Allie LaForest who joins us from the sidelines.
44:27Allie.
44:29Thanks so much, guys.
44:31Marcus, your competitive spirit is infectious.
44:34Talk about what you bring to this team.
44:37I'm just a spark.
44:39You know, we get a little stagnant off of the van.
44:40We've got to get in and move it.
44:41You know, I'm coming in.
44:42I'm driving, penetrating, finding guys.
44:44You know, you've got a guy that can facilitate and find guys.
44:46You know, it gets them feeling good.
44:47Then they start making shots, playing defense.
44:50And things start falling.
44:50You know, that's how we're missing.
44:51Just that little energy.
44:52You got it.
44:53Thanks, Marcus.
44:54As always, Allie, we appreciate it.
44:57Well, folks, that's going to do it for now.
44:59So, for Doris Burke, Greg Anthony, and Allie LaForest,
45:03I'm Kevin Harlan saying thanks for joining us
45:06as we present our player of the game.
45:23Allie LaForest, I'm Kevin Harlan.
