00:13This year, as ASTT marks over 35 years of service, the organization is emphasizing the need for comprehensive support, not
00:22only through early intervention, but also through programs that empower autistic adolescents and adults.
00:28These include life skills development, vocational training, and pathways to meaningful employment.
00:34Speaking at the lunch, Dr. Natalie Maraj highlighted the government's commitment to early diagnosis and intervention, ensuring that children receive
00:42the support needed from an early stage, including access to therapy and vocational training.
00:48We aim to increase awareness of the autism spectrum and dispel all the associated stigmas.
00:55The WHO now states that 3.2% of children aged 8 in developed countries can be diagnosed along this
01:06spectrum.
01:06Higher incidence in boys, all of that, the numbers to stay that diagnosis along this spectrum is increasing, and our
01:16government will stand to make sure that no one diagnosis is missed.
01:20Through our aims to ensure that there is early childhood assessments in schools, we will make sure that no child
01:30is missed, so that the opportunity to start therapy, support, and vocational training starts early.
