00:00Having beaten Sri Lanka 1-0 in the Caribbean recently, the West Indies have another two-match test series, with

00:08Game 1 bowls off on Saturday in Terubah, and cricket analyst Fazir Mohamed says the home team has the edge,
00:14mainly because of the pace attack.
00:16More than anything else, it's the quality of the West Indies' fast bowling, led by Jaden Seals, of course.
00:22Kimar Roach may not be a factor anymore, having reached that landmark of 300 test wickets and being celebrated for

00:28You've got Shamar Joseph, you've got Anderson Phillip in support, and indeed the vagaries of the pitch will always be
00:35a consideration.
00:36And you add to that the fact that Pakistan are going through a very difficult period, I would certainly say
00:42that the Westerners hold the edge, and at this moment I would give them a 1-0 series victory.
00:48Mohamed says the recent win against Sri Lanka is a boost for the men in Maroon, ahead of the matches
00:53against Babur Azam and company.
00:54The Trinidad-based analyst believes the Windies would have learnt a lot from the two matches against the Sri Lankans,
01:00played at the Serb Vivian Richard Stadium.
01:02The way they demolished Sri Lanka in the first test match, they racked up over 600 runs, double century for
01:10Amir Django, nearly a double for the captain Roston Chase, and then dismissed the Sri Lankans twice on the same
01:16surface.
01:17And yes, in the second test match, it was a real slog for the bowlers, conceding nearly 550 runs.
01:23But once again, once there's the sort of assistance on the surface that you might expect at Taruba and at
01:30Queen's Park Oval in July, August with some rain around,
01:34you think that the West Indies should be able to build on that success that they enjoyed against Sri Lanka.
01:39Having said that, Mohamed fully agrees both the West Indies and Pakistan can show up one day and then falter
01:46on the other.
01:47And it has been proven by the results of late.
01:50You're talking about teams who can still produce exciting cricket, bits of brilliance, but generally very mediocre performers.
01:57We talk about the West Indies and indeed that's success against Sri Lanka.
02:02Prior to that, very little success here in the Caribbean.
02:04We talk about Pakistan. Just within the last couple of months, they went to Bangladesh, lost 2-0.
02:10Yet the same Pakistan hosted the World Test Champion South Africa and drew that series 1-0 in Pakistan.
02:17So that gives you a sense of the unpredictability of the two teams.
02:22Mohamed believes it's a proud moment for the Brian Lara Cricket Academy to be hosting its first ever test.
02:27He hopes for not only a good game, but also a reasonable turnout in South Trinidad.
02:33And so he knows who he gets there.
