00:03On the cusp of the long weekend, Darwinians are preparing to feast in a truly top-end
00:08fashion.
00:09The amount of fish that we've gone through in the first two hours today alone has been
00:13insane.
00:14That's despite customers and employees feeling the pinch of fuel prices.
00:19It does make it harder for our guys to go out fishing, for anyone just to drive around
00:23Darwin to come to us.
00:25I think the fuel has made it harder for people, but the best thing is they're still coming
00:30in and they're still supporting us, which is what we love.
00:32The volatile gas prices impacting Easter plans in a variety of ways.
00:37Probably not as much driving as I'd like to.
00:41Save it for dry season, hopefully when the prices are a bit cheaper.
00:44Yeah, we'll make it work.
00:45As you can see, we've got a full car.
00:47Instead of everyone driving individually, we'll just go as one big group.
00:51Northern Territory Police also hitting the road.
00:5545 designated road police vowing to keep an eye on the highway.
00:59That's a time where a lot of people will get out into our regional and remote areas, so
01:02we'll have a focus on sort of checking in with people before they head out, checking in with
01:07people when they're out at those locations, make sure they're still doing the right thing,
01:10and then again on their way back to make sure they've had sufficient time and breaks.
01:14In a world rocked by global uncertainty, Territorians will be hoping for more fish dinners and less
01:19fuel dilemmas as they seek to take things easy this long weekend.
01:23Joseph Hathaway Wilson, ABC News.
