Only two tourists visited the iconic Pink Roadhouse in South Australia’s Far North during the Easter break. The hope of a ceasefire means the end could be in sight for Australians feeling the pain during the Easter long weekend. While the oil shock continues to hit households hard, some South Australians kept their Easter travel plans, but some places saw a significant decline in visitors.

00:02High fuel prices has led to a low number of visitors in the outback SA town of Oodnadatta over Easter.
00:09We've been very quiet, we've only had two tourists out of town come into the town and pass through.
00:16But there's plenty of fuel to go around.
00:19We got filled up not too long ago and unfortunately we've had no one to buy the fuel so my
00:23tanks are full at the moment so definitely no shortage up this way.
00:28In Port Wakefield travellers were wary of the high fuel prices but ultimately it didn't change everyone's Easter plans.
00:35We took my car, for me not really because such like a small engine it doesn't affect me but it
00:40is still quite expensive.
00:41We'd already committed to it and something that as a family we didn't want to miss out on so we
00:47did it regardless.
00:48Didn't quite change my plans but thought about it.
00:50Tourists have also headed to SA's Riverland.
00:53With going away we always go out for a lunch somewhere so we're supporting the town.
01:00But expensive fuel is making it hard for those on the road full time.
01:04You can't travel too far because it's just too dear, too expensive, you know, it's killing us.
01:11The Federal Government is assuring drivers another month of fuel has been locked in as it chases guarantees from Asian
01:18refineries where the majority of Australia's oil comes from.
01:22We're now a bit into April and we have secured, contracted, legally binding supply well into May now.
01:29Across the country the number of stations without supply has dropped but some are still running dry with 422 without
01:38one or more type of fuel.
01:40Here in South Australia nine stations are reporting they're out of diesel and five say they're without unleaded.
01:46Now they're just Innisfront companies and they're not going to be charged.
01:47So I think we're gonna be doing two hundred and then we're closer to theworld.
01:48Now, the next time that's full of the bus is going up.
01:48The next thing I want to know is that it's not that it's not a big deal.
01:48Can you see that the city concert was like an old university?
01:48It was also in South Australia, so it's not a big deal, but this was a big deal.
01:48We're going to be very successful and what they got us on the street.
