00:14report about the cowboys and and your mod mccoy about 50 times and i might i might be shortened
00:20it there because i think it's just fascinating how their their options for quality defensive
00:25impact players are are diminishing at 12 and you know i just would would wonder how you're looking
00:31at that now how are you looking at it with three weeks to go could the cowboys take your mod

00:35the corner from tennessee yeah not something i see still at this point in time uh again things
00:41could change there's a lot of fluidity between now and three weeks from tonight when the when the
00:46draft begins but as of now i don't see that scenario playing out um you know if they do find

00:52in the scenario where monsoor delane caleb downs sunny styles reuben vane david bailey they're all
00:58off the board they're at they're there at 12 and you know they have to make a pick i think

01:02be you know it very well could be a maybe a stretch in some people's mind to go and get

01:07defender um but nevertheless i don't i don't think right now it's it's jermon mccoy and is that more
01:13injury or is that uh you know play style or scheme fit yeah i think it's more that injury you

01:20you go back to what jerry jones brian schottenheimer even steven jones said at the combine about how
01:26you know they're just not in a position to take injury red flags at this point in time and uh

01:31certainly fits that bill um and you know coming off the acl you know sure he is uh you know

01:37and he returned to his pro day last week and put down some good timing but you know nevertheless i

01:42bringing on another corner with injury history probably wouldn't be the wisest move for this franchise
01:46at this point in time um you know maybe if they didn't have such a beat up room they would
01:50have
01:50the flexibility to do that maybe take a chance here but uh i don't think they're they they don't
01:55see a position where they're in the position of taking chances so when you were referring to that
01:59scenario a moment ago about you know where would they reach is that is that keldrick falk is that
02:05colton hood is that fieneman who who do you think would be the the next defensive player group
02:11at 12 that they'd be considering yeah i don't necessarily have that question or that answer to your
02:16question for you but i i think a couple of those guys do make sense you mentioned colton hood
02:20uh i think akeem mezzador that rushed her out of miami uh would would fit that bill as well um

02:26know fieneman's an interesting one uh just because they haven't shown any public interest at least
02:30into uh dylan fieneman to this point in the process but um no there's there's a group of defenders
02:35there that i think could make sense and you know also i think they would be working the phone lines
02:39too um if if they're sitting there at 12 they didn't have an opportunity to trade up
02:43uh maybe there's a team or two on the line to trade back so sticking with corner nick we were
02:48having the conversation about that nickel spot a little bit earlier like is that the do-it-all
02:52safety everyone's trying to find their next nick imanwari we've talked and i know you have talked
02:57to us about colton hood is that a guy that you think they'd be interested as a slot i mean

03:02are you at with the nickel stuff and what shoddy had to say during the owners meetings yeah it was
03:07interesting we know we had asked shoddy hey you know what needs do you feel like still exist on the
03:12team other than linebacker the first mentioned the first position he mentioned was that nickel spot
03:17which is fascinating because they've they've added uh kobe durant they've added jalen thompson and sure
03:22those guys can play in the slot i think it's probably a situation though where they want to
03:26find somebody who does play the slot if that makes sense and so whether that's uh you know an avion
03:32terrell or shoot caleb downs i think would fit that role in my opinion i think i think dylan
03:36fieneman would fit that role um you know there's going to be some options here in the draft also on
03:40dates you know keante scott maybe a d'angelo pons uh colton hood's a fascinating one um you know
03:45could he have some nickel versatility i think so i think he's physical enough certainly to play that
03:50role uh i'd be curious to see what that looked like though nick if you were a betting man would
03:55you think that they they stand and deliver at 12 and 20 or do you think maneuvering one one
04:01direction or another feels like the the thing that's most likely on the table yeah if i had to bet
04:06right now i think at least one of those picks gets moved around whether it's moving up from 12
04:10moving back from 12 uh back from 20 i think you're going to see some movement on night one uh
04:15this uh
04:16this franchise loves to move around on uh draft night and uh they've they've proven it time and
04:22time again over the last two decades uh would not surprise me we if we run into another scenario of
04:27the same it's nick harris with us here in the fan dude we keep seeing now the cowboys are a
04:31team that
04:32everyone's mocking up whether it's six to cleveland which we've thrown out there for whatever reason
04:37three to arizona to go get jeremiah love's been floated out there one i mean do you think that
04:42they'd be that interested in jeremiah love but what do you think about being aggressive and going up to
04:47ensure you get whether it's downs or what are the players that you think that you would want to target
04:51there in a trade-up scenario yeah i think there's a couple of trade-up scenarios that make at least
04:57some sense and it's six with the cleveland browns with the one that you've mentioned quite a bit zach
05:02and then uh with the kansas city chiefs at nine um you know the front offices between kansas city
05:07and dallas you know have a lot of history together it would have to be a pretty complex deal to
05:12make
05:12it work on the trade chart but i think those two front offices have enough uh familiarity with each
05:16other to make that complex situation work they both have two first round picks they would basically
05:21be able to swap both of their first round picks so uh dallas would give up 12 and 20 they'd
05:26pick up
05:27nine and 29 and then to make the points uh even um they would also pick up a fourth round
05:33pick in
05:33that type of scenario but the question you'd have to ask yourself is okay the only thing kansas city
05:38really gets out of that is moving up from 29 to 20 and what would be the incentive to do
05:43that when
05:44you're sitting there at pick nine you know and so uh there's going to be some different scenarios
05:48that present themselves on draft night but you know if it were the cowboys and they're moving up to go
05:51get somebody it would have to be one of these premier defenders whether it's david bailey sunny
05:56styles uh reuben bain caleb downs monsoor delane it would have to be somebody from that group in my
06:01opinion and if bailey somehow slips to six i think that's where we start you know putting our antennas
06:06up to see uh what type of scenarios could present themselves nick they're in a situation though if they
06:12study this draft like you have i think going up's the only play i really do i i just to
06:18me there's just
06:19too much between you defensively that teams need the cincinnatis the miamis those kinds of teams i
06:26just don't want to walk that minefield right now i i think that the best players are going to be
06:32going
06:33up because i feel like if you sit there at 12 you're at the end of your window of maybe
06:38your first round
06:39grades so now why wait and hope for the best when you can go and make a deal if if

06:47telling me i can make a deal in cleveland i'm getting him on the phone right now let's do this
06:52right now and i'll sit there at six and i know i can get my best defensive player yeah and

06:58that makes a lot of sense you know and i think what's the one you've thrown out there zach where

07:12cleveland they're they're they're uh they're radio station stuff and they were they were all for it

07:28the player that you're going to probably take at 20 and the one that you'll take at 39 there's

07:48of player and it's it's a weird position to be in uh because you know you're on the edge of

07:53first and second tier with your first pick and then you're right smack in the middle of that second
07:57tier so they have so much flexibility if if how they grade players in this draft is similar to how
08:02you know we've looked at them at least in the media sphere um but yeah i'm with you there i

08:07picking a guy at 20 versus 39 sure you're there's going to be a little bit of a discrepancy but
