00:00The latest Star Citizen monthly report just dropped and just like the last one, it's
00:04a massive one.
00:05But instead of going through pages of dev notes that most people are not going to read
00:09anyway, I've picked out the most important and most exciting updates, the one that actually
00:14matters for the game and for you in the verse.
00:17We're talking about AI improvements that could finally fix some long-standing issues,
00:21progress on creatures like new Valachar variants, ships getting closer to release and some very
00:26interesting changes to the economy as well as the server tech.
00:30So if you want the key highlights without a noise, you're at the right place.
00:39For Alpha 4.7, AI features and tech solved issues caused by inclusions after breaching and looked
00:46into various bugs.
00:47In particular, civilians getting stuck into the coward position, which was very ridiculous.
00:52They also restored the intended de-escalation when combat NPCs are no longer fighting.
00:59Various crash fixes were implemented while updates were made to navigation link generation to connect
01:03them closer to individual navigational match edges.
01:07The team updated the behavior used by NPCs moving through doors with manual controls alongside
01:12general improvements to the functionality of NPCs requesting a path to end location to check
01:17whether a location is traversable.
01:20Hopefully, this will fix some places like Astro Armada at Area 18 which have been cursed by such
01:25issues.
01:26It was so bad that the NPCs there were stuck in those doors making them unusable and it was incredibly
01:31frustrating if for some reason you wanted to go to the other side.
01:34Let me know in the comment section down below by the way if you have been able to buy a
01:38ship
01:38at Astro Armada recently because as far as I'm concerned, I gave up a long time ago.
01:43On the development side, additional work was done to the Apex Valachar.
01:47Now the creature will be limited to moving within its area and it will emerge after X amount of
01:53seconds and will request a despawn if not damaged efficiently within a set number of seconds.
01:58And I don't know about you guys, but it seems like we are getting closer to seeing that Apex
02:02Valachar on Monox ever than before. Remember that video from CitizenCon 2954? We aren't there yet,
02:07but that's what a lot of people are expecting and hopefully it's not going to take that long.
02:12The Copian now moves into its Motive Patterns which has been upgraded with the Packline Growling
02:18and Circling Behavior when attacking. The Juvenile Valachar can also use this Motive Pattern.
02:24For Star Paws, improvements were made to the Motive Behavior Parameter usability and elsewhere
02:29numerous general person and universe crashes have been fixed. Moving on to Animation. March saw the
02:35animation team working on snake and worm type enemies including creating new behavior animations.
02:41The facial animation team began processing the content for February's performance capture shoot.
02:46This includes content for Alpha 4.8's new missions where players will meet two new characters
02:51as well as a news broadcast for Levski. Now, this is really exciting. I am really hyped about meeting
02:57new characters in-game and I hope that we are actually going to meet them in person and not via
03:02a
03:02screen like all of those so-called mission givers that we have been given over the past year or so.
03:07We know that Reiko Betaglia is going to make her return and this could be one of the characters
03:12that they are talking about. In fact, later in the report they do mention her and the fact that she
03:17is going to have a modular mission so I am not sure about what that means here. Perhaps we could
03:21have
03:21some missions that branch out which would be awesome but sadly no further details were given.
03:28Moving on to ships now and the Gatak Raylan is about to get its Grey Box Gate review. The UTV
03:34is
03:35about to be released and there was actually a teaser picture showing it on the distribution center
03:39last week so maybe we will be able to use it to transfer from container boxes from one area to
03:45another. This is gameplay that CIG have been teasing for quite some time but sadly has never materialized
03:51yet. The Hall B is about to be released as well and we get a full preview next week in
03:56a proper
03:56Behind the Ships episode that is not going to be an April Fool's joke. My guess is that both vehicles
04:02are going to make it to the verse with April Fool's content patch which is probably going to be Alpha
04:064.7.1. As far as the Ironclad goes it is now in polishing phase and should be ready to
04:12make its debut
04:12for Invictus week in May. And with so many ships and vehicles about to be shipped the team is now
04:18working on larger vehicles like the RSI Galaxy which is still in pre-production and the Drake Kraken
04:23which is about to enter Grey Box phase and is past its White Box Gate review. CIG said the Kraken
04:29will
04:29be the largest player flown ship by the time it releases and by the looks of these massive landing
04:33feet I can't believe that. Of course we shouldn't expect the Kraken for this year, CIG has already
04:38mentioned it but it's a ship that we could perhaps see released next year for CitizenCon 2957.
04:45Talking about core gameplay now, the team spent much progressing hacking with the devs polishing
04:50items, improving the tutorial and ensuring the UI is always correctly aligned to the player.
04:56As far as refueling goes CIG have created a new auto-docking system that will allow the Starfarer
05:01and the ship that needs to be refueled to auto-dock at a certain distance from the Starfarer which
05:06should reduce the junkiness that we have experienced in the past when docking to refuel. We were also told
05:12that refueling and repairing in a ship is on track for release, which is a good thing.
05:18It's not really a surprise because it was announced as part of Star Citizen Alpha 4.8 in the last
05:21roadmap update but I thought it was worth mentioning because that is one feature in particular that is
05:26highly anticipated by anyone who plays in groups. March saw the Economy team moving in two features
05:33for Alpha 4.8 which will bring new items for crafting, commodity training and new recovery systems for the
05:39universe. The Economy team emphasizes that crafting in Alpha 4.7 is still in a transitional system,
05:45designed to guide players away from a purely credit-driven mindset and towards broader progression
05:50paths like crafting and reputation. To support this shift, high-end materials such as Savrilium are
05:56currently more abundant than they should, encouraging players to engage with mining and fabrication.
06:02Operation Breaker Stations exemplifies this approach. While it presently offers strong UEC profit to
06:07attract participation, its real function is as a resource hub where players can exchange credits
06:12for reliable access to valuable materials. The system enables faster acquisitions of components
06:18needed for high-end armor and FPS weapons. As the in-game economy matures, pricing for crafted
06:24goods will increasingly reflect material quality and adjustments will be made to mission costs and
06:28resource outputs. Ultimately, the goal is to phase out profitable NPCs' sell loops and establish
06:34player and gear-focused economy where these locations become essential for crafters seeking precise,
06:40high-quality materials rather than raw profit. Next, let's talk about level design. While March
06:47saw the level design teams progressing on a variety of locations, the primary focus was on Nix's Social
06:52Stations and QB Breaker Stations locations which went live in Alpha 4.7. Elsewhere, the team worked toward
06:58multiple future deliverables including tactical strike groups and the Siege of Horizon rework.
07:04They also began to prepare a new major location. And I don't know about you guys, but I have a
07:09feeling
07:09that we're talking about Castra here. I mean, in Nix, there are no new major locations missing. I mean,
07:16a planet Nix-1 is not a major new location and if they only started working on Nix-1 after
07:21everything that
07:22has been shown, it would be strange. No, I think that this has got to be Castra and its main
07:27landing zone,
07:27which we saw at CitizenCon 2954 and we know it is going to be the next star system after Nix.
07:33I think that this is awesome because it means that by the time I'm making this video they should
07:37already have started working on it and maybe they will even have something to show at this
07:41year's CitizenCon so we can keep our fingers crossed here that perhaps we'll get to see the first images
07:45this year. Mission Design completed the second Nix mission pack which expands the amount of content
07:52for players, including moving some factions to utilize a reputation scope. The team
07:57also brought back the Courier system which currently exists in Staten and Pyro along with adding delivery
08:03contracts to bridge the gap between hauling and courier missions. This including modifying rooftop
08:08deliveries in New Babbage and R Corp that is going to allow players to drop off one SCU boxes. Mission
08:14support was also added here with the new QV breaker stations. This makes me particularly happy because
08:21back in the days courier missions were my favorite missions when I just wanted to chill. I would take as
08:26many
08:26missions as possible and try to stack those missions that had the same delivery point and it was awesome
08:30but so broken at the same time and I can't wait to try it out now that the game is
08:34much more playable
08:35and stable. I'm also happy that rooftops are coming back and I hope that these will be able to take
08:41us
08:41to other areas on R Corp like we used to in the past. Talking about online technology now and in
08:48March,
08:48the network team focused heavily on advancing the foundations for server meshing. A central part of this
08:53work involved quasi-dynamic server meshing here which is intelligently distributing areas of the game
08:58world across dedicated servers based on their current load. The team completed a second round
09:03of testing for this initial version, resolving a bug where multiple game zones were incorrectly
09:08assigned to the same server. They also made the system more efficient by removing a global performance
09:13bottleneck that was causing threat contention. This sounds like great news. Dynamic server meshing is of
09:19course the next and probably the final step that will make Star Citizen closer to its 1.0 release.
09:24The fact that they are now about to distribute specific areas per server probably is a huge step
09:29forward and from what it looks here, it seems that they are about to make it work internally.
09:35Of course, it's not the full dynamic server meshing yet, but it's the quasi one as they said
09:39and from what it's worth, it feels like a step in the right direction.
09:44On the art side, it looks like a new super heavy armor is coming straight from Squadron 42 into Star
09:49Season. I hope that this is an armor that we can only loot or craft, I would imagine this being
09:55the
09:55kind of late game item that players earn only if they accomplish certain things in the game as we
10:00have already started to see recently. Overall, this monthly report might not be the flashiest we've ever
10:07seen but there are some genuinely important pieces moving forward here. Between AI improvements,
10:12creature development, ship progressing through the pipeline and ongoing work on server meshing
10:16and as well as the economy a little bit right, it looks like some serious work was put recently to
10:21push new content in the game here thanks to the stabilization of the new tech that was added last
10:26year. Could these be the fruits of last year's year of playability? Of course, the real question is
10:32how is this going to translate in-game over the next few patches but the direction itself is very
10:36interesting. But let me know in the comment section down below here what stood out the most
10:40in this monthly report and whether you think these changes are going to make a real difference
10:43once they hit in reverse starting with alpha 4.8. That is all for this video guys. As always,
10:49thank you so much for watching. Thank you so much for watching. Until the end, a big shoutout to my
10:53Patreon and YouTube members as always. You guys keep the lights on and I give you a big shoutout for
10:58that.
