00:00The MISC Hull B is the ship that everyone is talking about right now, and for good reasons.
00:04First, it took a whopping 11 years for CIG to finally deliver it, as it was sold for $90 back
00:11in 2015, and if you had the clairvoyance to see in this concept a diamond in the rough,
00:16congratulations, you made one heck of a deal. But that's not just it. The ship is stunning,
00:23arguably the best looking ship of the whole series, and perhaps of the entire MISC lineup.
00:28CIG really outdid themselves here, I think. And of course, the other reason why the MISC Hull B
00:34is on everyone's lips is just for how good, on paper at least, this ship is going to be at
00:40hauling cargo, and in this video, I'm going to find out if the hype is really that deserved.
00:50First, let's take a tour of the ship, and now we can see that we are in a medium hangar,
00:55and it barely fits when its cargo racks are extended, but it fits nevertheless,
01:00and it's just that when you land, you're going to have to be extra careful, and we'll do that in
01:05a
01:05moment. To get in the MISC Hull B, you need to go via an elevator. There are no ramps and
01:12no ladder,
01:13just this elevator here. There is, however, a side door which will allow for entering and exiting in
01:19space or for docking, but it's not useful in a hangar or on a landing pad.
01:25In the ship, you will find that there is much more space than in the Hull A,
01:29and the interior makes a lot of sense. On the left side is where you are going to find the
01:34engineering room, where all the ship components are located, as well as the engineering screen,
01:39so if there is a problem with the ship, everything is located in one place, and I really like that.
01:46As far as the living quarters go, the ship can accommodate a crew of two, which makes sense,
01:50I think that this is how the ship is best operated, again, more on that later.
01:56There is a bunk bed for two people, a little bathroom with a functioning mirror, something
02:00that we are going to see more and more in Star Citizen, and on the other side of the L
02:04is a little
02:05living room with a kitchenette. But of course, we want to see the cockpit, which is where we will
02:11spend most of our time in the Hull B, and it's your typical missed cockpit here, which is functional,
02:17but not too quirky. It has the signature mailbox canopy, and the elongated dashboard you will find
02:23in the other models of the brand. Sitting in the pilot seat now, we can see that the visibility is
02:31surprisingly good, but the MFDs are not directly in sight. To see them, you have to use the free look
02:36mode or an eye tracker, like the Beam eye tracker that you can acquire for only $30, which uses
02:43your computer's webcam. More info in the description down below.
02:49Alright, let's take off. For the purpose of this test, we are going to ship resources to
02:54MIG L2 for shipping Interstellar. These are the mining missions that we are required to do
02:59in order to unlock the Rockbreaker missions in Nix. I already bought some Copper, which I'm going to
03:06ship, and I will go get some Quartz and Corandumum Calliope. I was surprised to see that the Hull B
03:13handles rather well for a ship of its class. It almost feels like handling a Hull A, which is a
03:20much smaller ship. You are, however, not going to outrun anyone with a Hull B, as it tops at 960
03:28meters
03:28per second, which is rather slow, but at the same time, we shouldn't be expecting any better.
03:35So first, let's unload that Copper. As you can see, it's very convenient to do it by hand. You just
03:41pick up the containers, who happen to be right in front of you, and then drop them onto the freight
03:46elevator. There are, of course, other ships with external cargo grids, but the way the Hull B is
03:52designed make it by far the easiest ship to load and unload is just incredible.
03:59There is also a tractor beam that you can operate from the co-pilot seat.
04:04It's worth noting that by default, the tractor beam is not powered on, so you're going to have to
04:09power it on via the MFDs, otherwise you'll be wondering, like me, why it's not working.
04:15But once it does work, well, it's a ship tractor beam, so you shouldn't be expecting to be as precise
04:22as with a handheld tractor beam, but I would say that it could be rather useful when working in a
04:28team, one as operator who would unload the ship via the tractor beam, and a second operator who
04:34would carefully place the containers on the freight elevator, and this is how I would envision a team
04:38working effectively with the MISC Hall B. Alright, next, let's go to Calliope, and I'm going to buy
04:47some resources here, and then load them by hand. And as you can see, once again, the process is
05:03remarkably easy. I'm just directing the container toward the cargo grid, and it automatically snaps.
05:10Best of all, if I'm trying to snap the container to the top of the ship and fail, it will
05:14snap on
05:15the other side, which is a really nice little touch of quality of life.
05:25And now, I'm going to go to Mic L2 and finish the delivery.
05:34It's also important to keep in mind that when you flag a MISC Hall B, you are going to be
05:38assigned to
05:39a medium hangar, and that the ship, when extended, barely fits in. If you are planning to use it again,
05:46I would advise you to do a little reverse maneuver like this, so that when you leave the station,
05:51you are already facing the hangar door, which is going to facilitate your exit.
05:57Once the ship is landed here, just unload it here, and I'm going to complete right here,
06:01the Shubit mission, just like that.
06:06So, what do I think about the MISC Hall B? I think that it is truly a remarkable ship.
06:12In terms of practicality, I think that it is unmatched in the Star Citizen universe.
06:17It can carry way more cargo than the raft, while being more practical. And despite holding about
06:2310% less than the caterpillar, it is also much easier to operate than its Drake competitor.
06:29But, keep in mind that its biggest strength, which is of course its external cargo grid,
06:33is also its biggest weakness, as the ship possesses little to no defensive capabilities against pirates.
06:39So, if you fly a Hall B in dangerous areas, you are going to have to make sure that you
06:45are well
06:45protected by other players.
06:47And that is it for this review of the Hall B. Let me know in the comment section down below,
06:51if you got a ship for yourself. What do you think of the MISC Hall B? Do you think that
06:56it could perhaps replace your current cargo hauler, if you are into cargo hauling? Let me know your
07:02thoughts in the comment section down below. If you enjoy this kind of content, please don't
