00:00Antonio Spurs are going to win it all this year.
00:07I think we're the best team in the world.
00:09The Spurs check all boxes.
00:12Dismantle them in the half court.
00:14Somebody needs a body bag.
00:16Play fast.
00:17Cash will clunge the ladder.
00:19Physical.
00:20Rebound.
00:21Fundamental.
00:22Again and again.
00:26One of the hottest teams in the NBA is rolling into the bay.
00:31Victor Wembenyama, the San Antonio Spurs, have won 14 straight with him in the lineup.
00:36He's getting warm to take on a Golden State Warriors team that's injury report perk as
00:41longer, as you would say, than a CBS per seat.
00:43With no Al Horford, with no Porzingis, with no Quentin Post, what kind of night is Victor
00:48Wembenyama going to have here?
00:49A MVP type of night?
00:52Look, he's something that we've never seen before, and to me, he has mastered the offensive
00:59end, meaning the balance of inside-out, pick-and-rolls, coming off of pin-downs.
01:06Like, it's nothing that he could do offensively, and you could tell the game has slowed down
01:11for him, and that's why he's dominating right now.
01:14Matter of fact, here, Coach.
01:18What you got?
01:19I mean, write it down.
01:20Tell me how you game plan to stop him.
01:22It's the reason I got them picked to win it all, but you tell me, as a coach, how can
01:27you game plan to stop Victor Wembenyama offensively?
01:30Well, here's the thing I don't think gets enough credit.
01:33They have eight players averaging double figures.
01:35No NBA team has ever done that.
01:38So, as great as Wembeny is, I think you got to give Castle, Fox, and Harper the three-guard
01:44combo, you got great shooters in Vassal and Champagny, Harrison Barnes off the bench, Keldon
01:49Johnson having a six-man-of-the-year type of a season.
01:52So, they are more than just Victor Wembenyama.
01:54Yes, he's an MVP candidate, defensive player of the year candidate, but 25-2 since February
01:591st.
02:00We always talk about their defense.
02:02In that stretch, they're the number one offense in the NBA.
02:05They're doing it on both ends of the floor, which is remarkable.
02:09I got that kind of reaction from Brian Brackett's over here.
02:12By the way, that back there, that's...
02:15This is to scale.
02:18I mean, he's obviously not quite that big, but he's about that tall.
02:21I'm not even kidding you.
02:22And the thing that's crazy about him, I'm having trouble projecting what's going to
02:27happen with him in the playoffs because they've been holding him back.
02:31He's only playing 30 minutes a game.
02:33Okay, so the question is, if we get to the playoffs and they need it, what if he plays
02:3837 a game?
02:39What's to stop him from averaging 40 and 20 in a three- or four-game stretch in a playoff
02:44series?
02:44Now, if he does that in, let's say, round two, will he get to round three and be gassed?
02:49Maybe.
02:50I don't know.
02:50But what I'm saying is, we're seeing a guy doing things we've never seen before.
02:54I think there's more in the tank.
02:56And that, that unknown about this guy is why I'm having a difficult time figuring out
03:02Perk's already gone out and said it.
03:04I haven't, I can't quite say they're the favorite yet, but I could be wrong.
03:07I could be dead wrong.
03:08It's a reason, it's a reason that, well, first of all, he's going to win defensive
03:13player of the year.
03:14If it's not unanimous.
03:15Will he be unanimous?
03:15Yes, because.
03:16First time ever.
03:17Yes.
03:17Let me explain why.
03:19Right?
03:19When you have a guy anchoring the middle, the way that he does, cover space, protect the
03:24basket, it allows and unlocks the guard to be aggressive, the guards to be aggressive
03:30on the wings.
03:31Right?
03:31And so the only knock that a lot of doubters have on the Spurs for us, them winning the
03:37title is what?
03:39They lack of experience.
03:40Well, lack of experience is because they're talking about the offensive side of things.
03:45Defensive side of things, that is going to travel.
03:48Because when you talk about brought up Stephon Castle, he's one of the better two-way players
03:53in the game.
03:54He always getting into somebody making you smell this cologne.
03:58It's in me, I kill, boy number nine, one of the two.
04:02Well, I agree.
04:03I think Castle has proven himself to be one of the better two-way players.
04:07But, you know, we talked earlier in the show about Wemby's offense and his ability to play
04:11pick and roll.
04:12But when you think of how he impacts a game, what his superpower is, it's his defense.
04:183.1 blocks per game lead the league.
04:20And a lot of times, those possessions lead to offensive breakdowns.
04:25Just watch this clip right here.
04:26This is going to be a pick and roll.
04:28Castle can be aggressive against Cade Cunningham.
04:30And as he tries to get downhill, look, he's seen Wemby waiting for him.
04:34Wemby roams.
04:35He protects the paint.
04:36Here's a re-screen.
04:37Cade's getting downhill.
04:38Cade Cunningham is an MVP candidate.
04:40I know we use that term a lot.
04:422-1-1.
04:43Wemby can play that cat and mouse game.
04:45Block the shot.
04:46Keep it in bounds.
04:47But this is what you love about him, Perk.
04:49He's 7'5".
04:50He runs like a 6'6".
04:53Wink forward.
04:54So he's just incredible.
04:55He tried for the steal there.
04:56He almost got the steal and then got the block.
04:58Right.
04:58And then got the dunk.
04:59But the video, we didn't have sound to it.
05:02But as a big man that anchored the defense, what I saw was communication from him.
05:09Like yelling at those screens.
05:11Like the reason that it wasn't able to work, the first sign of defense is communication.
05:16This is why I always tell people Wemby has an old soul.
05:21He's been here before.
05:23No, seriously.
05:24Well, there you go.
05:25Victor Wemby-Nyama, the San Antonio Spurs, are playing their best basketball at the right time.
05:29We all thought that they were going to be a good basketball team.
05:31But they are exceeding certainly my expectations here.
05:35Great seats tonight.
05:37All right.
05:37It's time to get you out to the Bay Area after this.
05:39It is Mike Breen, Tim Legler, Richard Jefferson, Lisa Salter is on the call.
05:45The NBA on ESPN is presented all season long by State Farm.
05:50Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
05:53And in part by Burger King, you rule.
06:00And a beautiful Bay Area.
06:02NBA regular season just 11 days remaining.
06:05Tonight at the Chase Center, the Golan State Warriors,
06:08who have been decimated by injuries, face an NBA juggernaut in the San Antonio Spurs.
06:13The legend of Wemby continues to grow.
06:16The MVP candidate, 41 points last time out.
06:20Of course, for the Warriors, still no Steph Curry,
06:23so Brandon Pajemski continues to get his chance to showcase his talent.
06:29As here tonight, we've got the Spurs and the Warriors on an NBA Wednesday presented by State Farm,
06:36part of the playoff push presented by Advil.
06:39And the race for the top seed in the West is not over yet.
06:43Seven games left.
06:44Spurs do have the tiebreaker, but they're also two and a half behind.
06:47It'll be difficult, but certainly not out of the question.
06:52And good evening, everyone, along with Richard Jefferson and Tim Legler,
06:55Mike Breen on hand, Lisa Salter is with us as well.
06:57This is what you call a good old-fashioned NBA mismatch.
07:01But as you know in the NBA, you never know.
07:03It's going to be difficult because right now the San Antonio Spurs,
07:06last two-month stretch, one of the best in NBA history,
07:0925-2 over their last 27 games.
07:12Richard, it has been so much fun to watch them play.
07:14It has.
07:15We look at this final stretch, but it really started last season.
07:18It started at the beginning of the season, watching this young team grow and dominate.
07:23You look at the Warriors in 2015, OKC in 2025.
07:28Will the San Antonio Spurs, will they be the next young team to lead a team to a championship?
07:33But first, they've got to handle that first playoff appearance in over a decade.
07:37What you see when you watch them is a complete team,
07:40exceptionally well-coached, built around a superstar.
07:42They've got great depth, and most importantly,
07:45they can beat you on either end of the floor.
07:47They're top three rated offensively and defensively.
07:51Meanwhile, Pagola State's been such a trying season.
07:54So many injuries, but there is some good news.
07:56They have clinched a playing spot, and Steph Curry is on the verge of coming back.
08:00I mean, that's the light, right?
08:01You're waiting for Steph Curry to come back.
08:02You also got some good play recently out of Christoph's Porzingis.
08:06That is something else they're looking forward to when they finally get those guys paired together.
08:10We know it's going to be an uphill battle,
08:12but Steph Curry represents it late at the end of the tunnel for all of these injuries they've endured.
08:17Tonight's starting lineups brought to you by Metro by T-Mobile.
08:21The Warriors only have nine players available, and six of them are undrafted.
08:26That includes rookie L.J. Cryer.
08:28This is a big night for Cryer.
08:30It's his first NBA start.
08:33Meanwhile, the Spurs have only had 12 different starting lineups compared to 39 for Golan State.
08:39And that starting five that they have put out on the floor have been terrific.
08:45And, of course, as we mentioned, you never know.
08:47Nate Williams getting a start.
08:48Another undrafted player, Draymond Green.
08:51He was a second-round pick at least.
08:57And as the Spurs with seven games to go and a lot of work to do,
09:00back on the road where they have excelled all season long.
09:05Draymond Green guarding Weminyama.
09:09Castle gets inside, goes back outside.
09:12Wemby on the drive, bank shot, got it, and a foul.
09:15Already a chance for a three-point play.
09:17And that's, he's gotten so much stronger functionally since he came into the league.
09:21His ability now to play through some of those arm rakes that, earlier in his career,
09:26these would have been like off-balance, fade-away, drifting shots.
09:29He's able to take that straight up through the contact and maintain his concentration.
09:35Now, this is the fourth and final meeting between these two.
09:39Warriors actually won two of the three.
09:42The two games were in San Antonio in November.
09:45Steph Curry had 49 and 46.
09:47He's obviously not here.
09:48And the Spurs, they are such a different team than even just back in November.
09:52No, they are a different team.
09:54But it's also the growth over the course of the season.
09:56If you look at how much they've improved over the last couple of months,
09:59there's nothing to say that they can't continue to improve as the playoffs progress.
10:04Yeah, there's Cryer.
10:05Misses his first shot.
10:06Weminyama goes right at Draymond Green.
10:08Shot won't go.
10:09Green does a good job defensively.
10:10Then the quick outlet.
10:13There's the rookie, Richard.
10:16And the shot clock is some kind of problem.
10:18So, quick stoppage.
10:20Our officials tonight, David Guthrie, J.B. DeRosa, and Shea Flores.
10:29DeRosa, the crew chief.
10:31Excuse me, Guthrie, the crew chief on the right.
10:35And you look at this play.
10:37Draymond did an outstanding job.
10:39Yes, there's some forearms there.
10:40But Wimby gets him going to the right, trying to hit him back with that Euro.
10:44Draymond does a good job of staying centered.
10:49There's Nate Williams, another one of the undrafted players.
10:52So many of these Warriors getting opportunities because of all the injuries.
10:55Cryer misses his second.
10:56What's it like your first NBA start?
10:58You can't imagine the adrenaline.
11:00Yeah, he's got to be a little bit nervous.
11:02But he's also, I think, been waiting for it his entire life.
11:05And he's going to try to take advantage of the opportunity to get some extended playing time.
11:10Wimby Nama not so nervous early.
11:12Very aggressive.
11:13Already he's taken three shots and has all five points.
11:16Will Richard way off the mark.
11:18And it's going to be Spurs ball.
11:20The Spurs 27-11 on the road.
11:23This starts a three-game road trip to play the Clippers and Denver.
11:26Not only are they 25-2 in the last 27,
11:29they've won nine in a row.
11:31Wimby Nama, three-pointer.
11:33Richard, the rebound.
11:38Cryer, six feet tall.
11:40But he's tough.
11:42And he gets it to Richard.
11:44Williams on the drive.
11:45This is his first start of the season.
11:47Wimby Nama, quick outlet to Castle.
11:51Castle, nice move inside.
11:53Bank shot in and out.
11:55Yeah, Richard apparently hit him.
11:56So Castle, who's been on quite the heat check recently, he'll shoot two.
12:00He should be on the heat check.
12:02Excuse me, legs.
12:03I got this.
12:03Yeah, I got you.
12:04I see that.
12:06I was just really impressed with that move.
12:08That little low sweep through, that stops people from reaching down or the possibility of an and one.
12:14So you really put the defenders on their heel, and then he's able to go through the contact.
12:18He's been playing outstanding the last few weeks.
12:23You see here, watch, the crossover.
12:25But then he puts the ball out.
12:27That right there prevents you from either reaching down or baits you into a foul.
12:31Keeps the defender on the heel.
12:33Then you go through that body contact.
12:34Last year's Rookie of the Year has taken a huge step this year.
12:39Still only 21 years old.
12:41The amount of responsibility he has in night in and night out.
12:44Mitch Johnson just raving about him before the game.
12:48Green goes at Weminyama, flips it up.
12:50Shot is no good.
12:51Weminyama had it, lost it, picks it up again.
12:54And Green screaming.
12:55David Guthrie wanted a foul on his shot.
13:00He said he picks up that.
13:02They're going to call a transition take foul.
13:05Yeah, I think Draymond right there, he felt that he, I think he's right.
13:08I think he was fouled on his right shoulder.
13:10There's contact there from behind.
13:13Weminyama does a nice job contesting, but right there there's a bump.
13:15To me, that should have been two free throws for Draymond Green.
13:18So on the transition take foul, one free throw and then possession.
13:23Weminyama from the free throw line, 82%.
13:26He's 50% from the field, and then he's up to 35% from three-point range.
13:33And a quick 8-0 lead for the Spurs.
13:38De'Aaron Fox, guarded by Williams.
13:43The cell sets the screen.
13:45Good help from Pajemski.
13:47Fox on the move, spins into the paint, turnaround shot, got it.
13:50And it's already 10-0.
13:51You know what's been so impressive about De'Aaron Fox?
13:54He's so much more selective offensively than he was when he was in Sacramento.
13:57A guy that averaged over 25 points a game three times.
14:01Picks his spots, because they're that deep offensively.
14:06Weminyama, the ball goes out of bounds already with four rebounds and six points.
14:10He had one of the fastest double-doubles in NBA history the last time out.
14:15Monday, they faced the Chicago Bulls.
14:17He had a double-double in eight and a half minutes.
14:21Was it blocks?
14:22No, it's no.
14:24That'll happen someday soon.
14:26It will.
14:28Pajemski.
14:28And the Warriors get on the board.
14:30Pajemski has had some really good games recently.
14:3420 points plus the last four.
14:39Champagny slips.
14:41Castle gets inside.
14:42Castle lobs it up on an easy deuce for Victor Weminyama.
14:47That's a nice little kind of, you know, release.
14:50You get in there, you wait, and at some point in time, you just realize nobody else can get to
14:55it.
14:55Wave that basket off.
14:57A kickball.
15:02You go off the screen and roll.
15:03And look, he just baits.
15:04He takes his time.
15:05Another little dribble in time.
15:07And now it's just dead.
15:08Now, once that ball's in the air, it doesn't matter who it is.
15:11They have no chance.
15:12What a tough position for Draymond Green.
15:14He's trying to stay with it as long as he can.
15:16But he also knows who he's releasing to the rim.
15:19You're not going to get enough size to help you on that lob on the weak side.
15:23Pajemski couldn't get it to go.
15:25Already five rebounds for Weminyama.
15:27By the way, he said about Castle, he's got to throw the lobs a little higher.
15:31They're still trying to figure it out.
15:33Castle throws that one high enough and another easy two.
15:37I think he heard you, Mike.
15:38Those two are really starting to develop that special connection.
15:42Weminyama's hoping he has a 15-year career with Castle as his teammate.
15:47Cryer misses.
15:47Champenny the rebound.
15:52Spurs not suffering any letdown with all the missing players.
15:56Champenny knocks down to three.
15:58It's 17-3, less than four minutes in.
16:01And Steve Kerr will use his first timeout.
16:04The All-Spurs early on.
16:06It's the podcast of Victor Weminyama.
16:08Get used to this combination.
16:09You're going to be seeing it for a long time in this league.
16:16Welcome back to San Francisco where Steph Curry is missing his 26th consecutive game tonight
16:22because of runner's knee.
16:23But the Warriors believe that their superstar is trending in the right direction
16:28and could make his return as soon as this weekend.
16:31Curry worked out tonight pregame.
16:33The first time he was out here on the court in front of fans in two months.
16:37And he said it felt good to feel that kind of adrenaline again.
16:40He said this rehab has been like no other that he's ever had.
16:44And it has really tested his patience because he said one day his knee would feel great,
16:48the next day horrible.
16:50So it really has been that unpredictable.
16:52He was just cleared to play a five-on-five scrimmage yesterday.
16:57And there was a lot of anticipation to see how his knee would respond.
17:00And Steph said the first thing he thought when he woke up this morning was,
17:03yes, it still feels good.
17:05So the plan now is for Curry to scrimmage again tomorrow.
17:08And if he continues to feel good, Mike, there's a chance he could play Sunday here at home
17:13against the Houston Rockets.
17:15What a welcome sight that would be, Lisa, as his brother knocks down his first shot.
17:20Seth Curry healthy.
17:21Another alley-oop.
17:22This time when Miyama gets fouled.
17:25And we'll head to the free throw line with a 17-5 lead.
17:29You know, overall, he's missed 37 games.
17:32And they're, this is the 37.
17:34They're 13 and 23.
17:35When he's played, 23 and 16.
17:38But everything changed on January 19th when Jimmy Butler wrecked his knee
17:42and he was out for the season.
17:43And then Curry never expected to be out this long.
17:46And it's just been a nightmare injury-wise.
17:48Fox goes inside.
17:50Layup is good.
17:52Well, when, when you look at, when you look at the Golden State Warriors, it was all about,
17:57could you get Steph help?
17:59Could you bring in players around him to put him in a position to be successful on the lead
18:04team?
18:05And yes, you still got Steph.
18:06But with Jimmy Butler out, that just really changed the whole trajectory of their season.
18:10And look, they're still playing and they're going to be in the play-in.
18:13And you've got Steph Curry.
18:15There's no telling, like, what could happen on any given night.
18:18And you've got Porzingis now playing and he wasn't at first.
18:21And bottom line is this, what they've missed, not just his production, it's what he creates
18:27offensively and the attention and how much easier it makes the game for their entire roster.
18:32They haven't had that with he or Butler out.
18:35It lifted the spirits, according to Steve Kerr, just knowing he's going to be there.
18:40They're still trying to get up to the ninth spot past Portland.
18:42That's not going to be easy.
18:43There's Omer Yurtzebun, a 27-year-old center, playing in just his ninth game.
18:50A couple of 10-day contracts with the Warriors.
18:54Knocks down some free throws.
18:55Pat Spencer in.
18:56Castle slips.
18:57That's the second player to slip.
19:00Keldon Johnson has come on.
19:02Dylan Harper has come on.
19:04San Antonio just has a great starting five.
19:07Terrific depth.
19:09And we've said this numerous times this year.
19:11Yes, Victor Weminyama is a generational player, but they have a lot more than just Wemby.
19:16Yeah, they got multiple All-Stars, future All-Stars.
19:19They got some All-NBA guys on their team around Wemby.
19:22That's where their team is so loaded.
19:24It does remind of an OKC team.
19:28Here's Harper.
19:29Oh, nice sidestep.
19:30Gets past Curry.
19:31Lays it up and in.
19:31The impressive rookie, Dylan Harper's first bucket.
19:34Yeah, and Mitch Johnson was talking about the fact that, you know, here comes a guy coming out.
19:39Such a high pick on a lot of teams, typically, that aren't playing for much.
19:43He's going to be starting as a rookie, accepted a role, and he's a future star, and he knows it.
19:49How about that move from Nate Williams?
19:51And the crowd understands what he just did.
19:53That's a beautiful move and just got it over the fingertips of Weminyama.
19:59Ball knocked loose.
20:00Good hustle.
20:01Castle gets it to Wemby.
20:06As it knocked away, Williams on a reach-in foul.
20:11Well, that was an incredible move offensively to be able to get this shot up.
20:17The ball faking just to have the presence right here because you know how quick you've got to get that
20:22to the rim.
20:24Great job right here.
20:25Victor Weminyama thought he had that timed up.
20:28Very clever.
20:28Crafty by Williams to finish that.
20:30Williams in his first year with Golden State, fourth year in the NBA.
20:34Again, another not-drafted player.
20:36This is his 12th game off the bench with the Warriors.
20:41Wemby already 3-for-3, 11.6 rebounds in six minutes.
20:47He's got a lot of rebounding to do in the next two minutes to break his own record.
20:51I think we're going to see that record broken multiple times.
20:54If he's doing this in his first few years, as you see him meditating before his free throw, he's going
21:00to own so many different records in the record book.
21:02I feel like the fastest double-double is more of a stat.
21:05I think this man is going to have a lot more of those.
21:08Not exactly going out on a limb, are we?
21:11I'm not.
21:11I'm really not.
21:12I'm saying we're marveling over it.
21:13I'm just telling people to get used to it.
21:15I agree.
21:16There's the block.
21:19Nate Williams tried it again, this time with less desirable results.
21:24Yeah, I don't think Victor Wemenyama was going to get beat on this.
21:27He's got a better angle this time and no such upfake to come.
21:31So, Victor Wemenyama, this is an easy one for him.
21:33He's timing that up the entire time.
21:36The NBA leader in shot blocking.
21:39That's probably going to be the case for the next dozen years or so.
21:43Harper throws it up.
21:44Wemenyama throws it down.
21:45Just the fingertips even got a little bump from Draymond Green.
21:49What a start.
21:51Draymond Green couldn't have really played it any better.
21:53He stunted at Harper and he still was able to get back and try to get some contact on Wemenyama,
21:59but he's just too long.
22:01You see right there, that's a great job stunting to force Harper to make the pass,
22:06but then it's just too much size to get back and dislodge.
22:14Spencer has done a really good job.
22:16Floats that one up and gets it a go.
22:20Steve Kerr has actually loved this team coaching them.
22:24They play hard.
22:25They play for the team.
22:26Just most nights they don't have the talent because of all the injuries.
22:29Keldon Johnson shot blocked by Draymond Green.
22:32And the crowd so supportive, they get it in terms of the mismatch and how they're underhanded.
22:38Or shorthanded, shall we say, as Curry struggles with his dribble.
22:41Back to Spencer.
22:42So any positive, they're all fired up here.
22:46Curry can't get it.
22:47Castle gets a running start.
22:50Draymond Green gets back on defense.
22:51Castle goes right at him.
22:53And Green commits the foul.
22:54It's going to be his second.
23:01So Castle gets to the free throw line.
23:03And you're seeing again, he put, he, watch, he puts the ball out there times the exact same thing.
23:08Draymond wraps him up.
23:09That's a good hard foul.
23:11But ultimately, that little crossover and putting the ball out in front of you,
23:15it either forces the defense on their heels or baits them into the foul.
23:19Now, last two games for Castle, 22 points, 10 assists, 21 points, 10 assists.
23:25He's got four triple doubles this year.
23:27What a season it's been.
23:29This is the first.

23:43More on the games.
23:44Please go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app.
23:4811 days left in the NBA regular season.
23:52And still a lot of important games.
23:58Second one in and out.
23:59Ball tipped.
24:00Last touch by Golden State.
24:02San Antonio will get 14 more on the shot clock.
24:05Champagny comes in.
24:06Castle will sit.
24:07Mason Plumlee, by the way, has checked in.
24:10Plumlee playing just his fifth game with the San Antonio Spurs.
24:18Signed a 10-day contract and then signed one for the rest of the season.
24:21Luke Cornett out tonight.
24:22Dillon Harper kicks it out in the corner.
24:25Johnson gets the three to go.
24:27One of the best six men in the NBA this year.
24:32Nate Williams gets inside.
24:34Tried to pass it off.
24:36Out of bounds.
24:42Malafy, Leone's out there for Golden State.
24:47Some names that the casual NBA fan are not very familiar with.
24:52They're out there trying hard.
24:53Nice defense that time from Leone's.
24:56Nate Williams able to run it down.
24:57A little Eurostep in a bucket.
24:59Nate Williams with his second field goal.
25:01And he's got a good feel for putting the ball in the basket.
25:03That's a really nice, long stride in the open floor.
25:06And it bought him a little bit more time.
25:10Harrison Barnes, his first shot misses.
25:12Williams the rebound.
25:17Here's Williams, very aggressive.
25:19Gets inside, kicks it up top.
25:20Pajemski has an open look.
25:22Gets it to go.
25:23His second three-pointer.
25:25And Mitch Johnson calls timeout.
25:27They cut it to 12.
25:29And the fans appreciative of the Golden State play here.
25:35But the Warriors trying to get a little push here offensively.
25:39Getting a little bit of rhythm.
25:41Nate Williams in the open floor makes the play.
25:43And Brandon Pajemski has been on our heater.
25:53Celebrate Earth Month with the NBA Scan to learn how you can score rewards for recycling unwanted clothes.
25:58Claim your free back today and get started.
26:01Richard, how are you celebrating Earth Month this year?
26:04By recycling a lot.
26:06Very well.
26:06Old jokes.
26:07Old movies.
26:09That's how I get it done.
26:11So you celebrate that year-round then.
26:13Year-round.
26:13You know, Captain Planet over here.
26:16That's me.
26:17Champagne misses.
26:18Here comes Pajemski.
26:20Spencer back up top.
26:21Pajemski, very aggressive.
26:22Draws the foul.
26:23Shot in and out.
26:25But he'll get two free throws.
26:30Pajemski, as we mentioned, 20 points or more last four games.
26:34He's on a great stretch.
26:36When this guy's good, he can be pretty special.
26:40Consistency's still something like many young players he's dealing with.
26:42What have you seen from him this year, Likes?
26:44He's a winning player.
26:45And this year, he's not dealing with the injuries.
26:47He was banged up all season last year, even into their playoff series.
26:51He's a winning player.
26:52He comes up with 50-50 balls.
26:54He's an outstanding rebounder for a guy his size.
26:57And that helps you clean up defensive possessions.
27:00And he's a little bit streaky with his shooting.
27:02But right now, he's on one of the hottest stretches he's had in terms of scoring and shooting the three.
27:07He has played every single game for them.
27:10This game number 76.
27:13And the 17-point lead's been cut to 10.
27:16Warriors back in that zone.
27:19Bill and Harper back up top.
27:21Keldon Johnson.
27:22Such a spark off the bench.
27:24Gets inside and draws the foul.
27:27Free throws for Keldon Johnson.
27:32You know, the word you hear around San Antonio is sacrifice.
27:37And how everybody's sacrificing for the sake of the team.
27:40Johnson's one of those guys.
27:41Used to score a lot more, not as many.
27:43And that's the necessary ingredient to have team success.
27:47It's hard to be on a championship caliber team and not sacrifice.
27:51You look at, you know, in the past,
27:53Mata Ginobili, the San Antonio great Hall of Famer.
27:56This individual was coming off the bench six-man of the year.
27:59There were games where he started.
28:01There were seasons where he started.
28:02But there was also seasons where he came off the bench.
28:04If you are truly committed to winning,
28:07the first thing that you have to be willing to do is sacrifice.
28:10Lead back up to a dozen as we hit the three-minute mark here in the first.
28:15But Jemsky lines up.
28:16Another shot.
28:17That one bounces around and drops through.
28:19He's in double figures already.
28:20He's got 10 of their 20 points.
28:28Harper, nice move inside.
28:29His floater in and out and in again.
28:31Plumlee touched it, though, before it went through.
28:34So, basket interference.
28:37You see how San Antonio just dominates the paint,
28:41whether it's the windy lob, whether it's driving in the paint.
28:44The one thing that we're going to have to see in the postseason as they continue,
28:47that paint is going to get clogged up.
28:49If you're San Antonio, they're going to make you beat them with three-point shots.
28:53They're not going to let you beat them in the paint.
28:55The one thing I will say, though, and I think it makes their two-man game so difficult to defend
28:59because their guards get so deep off of it.
29:02They're not like typical guards that come off a screen at the three-point line
29:05and stay out there, which makes your rotations easier.
29:09Harper, Fox, Castle, all of those guys can just beat you up in the paint off the dribble.
29:15Puts a lot of pressure on the back line for that lob for Wemby.
29:18That foul sends Pajemski back to the line.
29:21Foul on Champenny, his first.
29:23I wanted to know why you said they're not like most of the guards that come off a pick and
29:28stay out there.
29:29Why don't they stay out there, Legs?
29:31What's your point, Rick?
29:32That they're not a very—
29:33It's a quiz show.
29:34I want to know what you're asking.
29:35They're not a great three-point shooting team, so they lean into their strengths.
29:39I thought you were saying, why do other guards stay out there as opposed to why do they not?
29:44Why do they stay out there?
29:45Well, that's part of it.
29:46Part of it is their skill set also.
29:47They've got the quickness and the strength to get in there,
29:49and that's where you're really going to break down a defense off a ball screen,
29:53turning a corner, getting inside the foul line,
29:55and that's just such a difficult rotation and reaction.
29:58Wemby with a three, too strong.
30:00Pajemski with a rebound.
30:01Pajemski's also been getting a lot of rebounds in addition to all his scoring recently.
30:06Gets inside.
30:07Nice fake.
30:08Leone's shot is good.
30:10And a foul.
30:12No, 17-point lead's been cut to six and a chance for a three-point play.
30:16A 13-2 run.
30:18It's a really nice cut.
30:20Pajemski does all the work.
30:21It's a beautiful fake right there.
30:23Victor Weminyama frozen outside the lane and allowed a shot to be had at the rim,
30:29but that's a really nice cut from the corner.
30:32Didn't stay out there and just wait on the catch.
30:35Leone's in his 21st game.
30:37He signed a two-way contract way back in December.
30:40His second year.
30:40Wasn't drafted after five years of college.
30:43Played his last three at Bradley.
30:46Was a player of the year in junior college before that.
30:49Hardly played his rookie year last year.
30:52Just six games at OKC.
30:53Getting more of a chance.
30:55I mean, he's got the Warriors back within six as we hit two and it's remaining.
31:01Aaron Fox lost it.
31:03Spencer picks it up.
31:05Five turnovers for San Antonio.
31:08Spencer at three.
31:10And Benyana, the rebound.
31:11Knocked out of his hands.
31:13Still Spurs ball.
31:16Spurs are shooting 62% from the field, but the five turnovers have helped Golden State keep it close.
31:24Well, and look, if you're Golden State, I understand that you don't have your normal crew of guys.
31:29But also, San Antonio's the second best first quarter scoring team.
31:33They come out, they punch teams in the mouth.
31:35So for Golden State to kind of weather that storm of what San Antonio is typically doing to every team,
31:41this is a good sign for them for the rest of the game.
31:43You see a lot of street clothes, not just Curry, but saw Al Horford there.
31:49Butler, of course, out.
31:50Moody with the surgery.
31:52Post, Melton, Porzingis, Payton, they're all out.
31:55When Benyana lays it in with a left hand.
31:58What a beautiful, unstoppable move.
32:02Curry up top, Spencer.
32:09Dirt seven, right back to Spencer.
32:12Spencer, searching for an opening to get a shot off.
32:14Shot clocked out of five.
32:16Stripped and stolen by Fox.
32:17Throws it ahead.
32:18Beautiful pass, Champagny.
32:20Defense leads to offense for the Spurs.
32:22They're back up ten.
32:26Well, I can't wait, first of all, for the replay of what Victor Lama did on that finish
32:31because of where he caught it.
32:33San Antonio answering Golden State's run with two buckets again at the rim.
32:38Fox is hurt.
32:39Spencer's shot.
32:40That won't go.
32:41And now another rebound.
32:42Fox took a shot in the face.
32:44And it's shaken up.
32:46One becomes, tries to help out his teammates.
32:53He's pointing to the bench.
32:55Yurt seven apologizes.
32:56Here's that play we were talking about.
32:58First, where he catches it against the zone.
33:00They had that area covered pretty well.
33:02You just threw it up to him.
33:03And then this extension right here.
33:07Well, that is just demoralizing defensively because you think you actually played that one pretty well.
33:13And here is the right elbow.
33:15Yurt seven, as soon as the play ended, went up and said to Fox, nothing intentional.
33:19Checked on him.
33:21Fox having his mouth checked on right now.
33:24As Juan Banyama will shoot free throws.
33:32Fox, the veteran, one of the few of the main rotation guys that has playoff experience.
33:38Six of their top seven scores have never played in the playoffs.
33:41Fox did, but only seven games with Sacramento.
33:43He's going to run out back to the locker room.
33:46They'll check on him.
33:49Well, and that's when we talk about experience.
33:51Well, there's no doubt that we believe that this team has the talent, the mentality, you know, defense, offense, to
33:56win a championship, to be a contender.
33:58But you haven't seen a lot of teams with no experience go and do that.
34:03And even for De'Aaron Fox, as great as he is, all NBA player, he's only played in one playoff
34:09series over the course of his career.
34:11So that's where the question is.
34:12They aren't doubts, but it's more of in this league, it's like, show us and then we believe you.
34:17Another legitimate, fair question.
34:18How will they react?
34:19We don't know.
34:21You mentioned De'Aaron Fox, the one series.
34:23Harrison Barnes has 71 playoff games.
34:26Luke Burnett has 43.
34:27That basically represents all of their playoff experience collectively.
34:3311-point lead for the Spurs.
34:35Final minute, first quarter.
34:36Carter Bryant has come on.
34:38Another impressive rookie for San Antonio.
34:40Spencer working him.
34:41Now falls away.
34:42Off one foot.
34:43Knocks it in.
34:44Second field goal for Spencer.
34:49And another terrific role player for the Warriors.
34:53Castle back in.
34:55Yert's seven out on an island against him.
35:02Six on the 24.
35:04Castle makes his move.
35:05Kicks it out.
35:06Carter Bryant.
35:06Three-pointer short.
35:08Barnes the rebound.
35:09And now pulled back and hold it for close to the final shot.
35:13About a second difference.
35:14Shot clock and games clock.
35:17Into the hands of Wemby.
35:19Makes his move.
35:20Cross-court castle.
35:22Nice fake.
35:23Fires away.
35:24Three-pointer won't go.
35:26And the first quarter comes to an end.
35:29Pick to win.
35:30Monyama.
35:3017 points.
35:32Nine rebounds.
35:33And one block.
35:35Off to an excellent start.
35:37Already some highlight plays.
35:39In Long Island State.
35:40Trying to keep it close.
35:41Short-handed.
35:42But Jempsi's got 12.
35:44After one.
35:45A nine-point San Antonio lead.
35:50Best presented by Samsung Galaxy.
35:53Stefan, just you guys came out hot.
35:55Got out to a 17-point lead.
35:57They've now cut it to nine.
35:58What do you have to get back to?
35:59Say it again?
36:00What do you have to get back to?
36:01You guys came out hot.
36:02Got out to a 17-point lead.
36:03But they've cut it to nine.
36:04So what do you want to get back to?
36:06Continue to get some stops.
36:09And just continue to touch the paint whenever we can.
36:12And trying to find good shots for us.
36:13And Victor Webinyama, another sensational first quarter.
36:17You see it every night.
36:18Are there ever moments when you think to yourself, how did he do that?
36:22Yeah, I mean, all the time.
36:24I mean, ever since I've been here, practice, anything, shoot around.
36:27So he's a very unique player.
36:28And I expect him to keep playing his way.
36:30All right.
36:31Thanks for your time.
36:31Good luck the rest of the way.
36:32Mike.
36:34All right, Lise.
36:35Barnes throws it up.
36:36And fouled.
36:38Castle's happy for a lot of reasons.
36:40Number one, he's playing well.
36:41Number two, he's got a teammate in Wemby.
36:44His team is 57-18.
36:46And most importantly right now, his UConn Huskies, one of the most incredible NCAA tournament games.
36:52He glows when you ask him about UConn winning.
36:54He was by himself.
36:56And apparently he was running around his place after that shot went in.
37:02Honestly, I think Duke had a hell of a season, man.
37:06I was saying, I think Duke had a hell of a season.
37:09They did, but coming from you, that's the least sincere thing I've heard you say.
37:12By the way, you're glowing also.
37:14Your squad is going to be there.
37:16Did you say it's the least sincere?
37:17We're just talking about UConn now, okay?
37:19I didn't say anything about my team.
37:21There'll be plenty of time for that later.
37:23Of course, Castle did play for Danny Hurley and loved playing for him.
37:28He said one of the best things about him, there was no favoritism from the best player to the player
37:33last on the roster.
37:34Another nice goal from Nate Williams.
37:37Williams with six points.
37:39Warriors with an eight after trailing by 17.
37:48Lassell can't get it to fall.
37:50Pajemski pursues the rebound.
37:5212 points, four boards, two assists for Pajemski.
37:57Putting together some really nice stretches of game.
37:59Draymond Green knocks down the three.
38:02Look at this, it's a five-point game.
38:05Looked like it was going to be one of those uh-oh blowouts from the start.
38:08The Warriors respond beautifully.
38:13Green now guarding one banana.
38:16Lassell kicks it out in the corner.
38:18Bryant almost made a nice catch of it.
38:21The Aaron Pasto is now six turnovers for the Spurs.
38:25Well, their offense really got turned around.
38:27Nate Williams gave them a nice spark.
38:29And you can see what he can do on the open floor.
38:30He covers a lot of ground with that two-step.
38:33Getting to the opposite side of the rim to his left hand.
38:35And Draymond, he catches it, squares up.
38:38If Wemanyama's going to be that far off, he's going to have to shoot a couple of those to keep
38:42him honest.
38:43Spencer on the pull-up.
38:45Some moves from the crowd, but he comes up short on the shot.
38:48That's the tenth rebound already.
38:50So Wemanyama has his double-double.
38:51Took him 11 whole minutes to get there tonight.
38:58Lassell to Castle.
39:00Castle's three-point shooting.
39:01Much improved.
39:02Not that time.
39:03Fox the rebound.
39:04Lassell's going to try another.
39:05That one misses.
39:06Spencer the rebound.
39:08Spurs now just two of 12 from long range.
39:13Spencer finds some room, lets it fly.
39:16They're not much better.
39:18Three for 13.
39:23Wemanyama at the foul line.
39:26Smooth stroke.
39:27And now 19 points in those 12 minutes.
39:30Has there ever been a mid-range more difficult to contest than what he just took?
39:34And you're like, what are you going to do?
39:37Giant side.
39:38Foul called.
39:40Carter Bryant, he's yelling at Wemanyama about something as Draymond Green's going to shoot
39:45some free throws.
39:50Some of the things for a young player is that you can have a veteran make a mistake, but
39:54it's always going to be your fault.
39:56And while Wimby is not technically a veteran, he ain't coming out the game if there's a mistake
40:02made.
40:02So for a guy like Carter Bryant, when there is a miscommunication or something, the grace
40:08that you get as Carter Bryant is now leaving the game.
40:11Now, the guys were at the scoring table before.
40:13That wasn't it.
40:14But for him, it was more of a, hey, these are how I earn my minutes by being exact and
40:20being
40:20perfect.
40:25Two and a half gone by here in the second.
40:28And the Warriors now within five.
40:30Nice job bouncing back.
40:32They've had a lot of games against some of the top teams where they're in the game fighting,
40:36fighting, fighting.
40:37But then it gets worn down at the end because their depth obviously not what it is without
40:41all the key players out.
40:43Fox goes in the lane.
40:44Tried with a right hand.
40:45Good second effort from De'Aaron Fox.
40:52Cryers back in with Pajemski.
40:54Spencer, Green, and Nate Williams.
41:04Spencer, bad pass, threw it out, thought Cryer was going to go over it.
41:08That's four turnovers for the Warriors.
41:11Well, De'Aaron Fox benefits on his last drive.
41:15He gets to the rim.
41:17Warriors are the very small lineup out there.
41:19So he's got the one guard that he's attacking.
41:21Pajemski, the next biggest guy in the area.
41:23So De'Aaron Fox able to clean up his own action.
41:27Fox, the Spurs' second leading score, just under 19 per game.
41:31Vassell gets inside and an easy two.
41:33Another beautiful pass.
41:34They've all worked on their lob passes because the assists will rack up.
41:40As Pajemski lets another one fly.
41:41That one in and out.
41:46Here's Keldon Johnson.
41:47Goes inside.
41:49And a whistle on a foul.
41:50Green started to fall down.
41:51If the foul's on him, that's going to be his third.
41:56So three fouls on Draymond Green.
41:59And they only have nine players available tonight.
42:03Again, there's just a, this is just something that you don't see.
42:06We sit over here and watching basketball our entire lives and you don't see that type of lob option.
42:13Then you have the guards that can get it.
42:14It was something.
42:15His teammates had to learn.
42:17What was his range?
42:18Where could they throw it?
42:19How often was he going to be ready?
42:21And now they know it's at all times.
42:23And you know, it doesn't look like there's spacing in there, but there's another kind of spacing with Victor Webb
42:27and Yama.
42:28It's vertical spacing.
42:29So even when the guard penetrates down the lane and it looks like there's four guys that can basically reach
42:34out and touch each other,
42:35there is one last space to be had.
42:36And he's the only guy that can occupy it because of where you can throw the basketball.
42:40They haven't thrown him a bounce pass yet.
42:42That's right.
42:43No, should they ever.
42:44No, should they ever.
42:46Vertical spacing.
42:47Throw that pass up.
42:48And then what adds to it, he's got amazing hands.
42:51Yeah.
42:52And it's just anything you rarely see him miss a pass.
42:56You know, again, you talk about guys with great hands.
42:59Tim Duncan, Jokic.
43:00He's one of those bigs that just has outstanding paws.
43:04Foul on Keldon Johnson.
43:05The entry pass to Draymond Green.
43:08Johnson will pick up his first side out for the Warriors.
43:12Will Richard has come back in for Golden State.
43:15You're at seven as well.
43:23Pajemski being chased by Harper for a rookie.
43:26Harper's a good defender.
43:27Of course, right on cue.
43:28Commits the foul.
43:29But you love the aggressiveness trying to fight over a screen.
43:32I do, but I also love how smart that was on the part of Pajemski.
43:35He knew that he had Harper, like, overcompromised with that super aggressive and trying to get over that pick.
43:40So he just stopped on a dime, tried to get into a shooting motion, but not able to get three
43:46shots out of that.
43:47That's three fouls on Harper in just six minutes.
43:52Keldon Johnson guarding Draymond Green.
43:54Backdoor cut.
43:55Pajemski kicks it back out.
43:56Spencer can't get it to go.
43:58That would have been a highlight assist.
44:00Heads off pass.
44:03Vassell can't get it to fall.
44:05Keldon Johnson, the rebound.
44:07Throws it up high.
44:07Look who gets it.
44:10Vassell drives baseline.
44:12And his foul by Yurtsevin went down hard.
44:16And as Yurtsevin commits his third foul.
44:22Johnson was a tough dude who gets up and he'll go to the free throw line.
44:29He's another one.
44:31And it's Draymond Green having a chat with Vassell.
44:33It was Vassell who, excuse me, the one that's going to go to the free throw line.
44:46First points for Vassell.
44:48And it's time for tonight's DraftKings sportsbook player, Pulse.
44:52Victor Wemenyama, Brandon Pajemski, who's been playing incredibly well coming into this one.
44:56Both of those guys spotlighted.
44:58DraftKings is the number one sportsbook for live betting.
45:01Use promo code SPLASH when you sign up.
45:03I'm going to take the over on Wemby.
45:07Again, going out on a limb.
45:09That's me.
45:10Well, he's got 21 right now with 12 rebounds in 14 minutes.
45:15At some point, when we get another look at that Pajemski pass, if he intended that pass,
45:20that might be top five passes made in the NBA this season.
45:24Oh, I think he absolutely intended that.
45:26I want to see that one more time because that was absolutely incredible.
45:29It ended up in a shooter's hands in the corner.
45:35Six on a 24.
45:36Spencer trying to search.
45:38Richard's going to have to throw one up.
45:40Does.
45:40Gets it off in time.
45:41Air ball.
45:42And a 24-second violation.
45:45All right.
45:46Here's the pass.
45:48R.J., when you saw this live, did you think he meant this?
45:52He absolutely did.
45:53That's incredible.
45:54That is incredible.
45:58I thought it went just through his hands and was deflected the first time I saw it.
46:02Nice pick up by you, sir.
46:04Well, I actually saw one the other night.
46:05Mikel Bridges did it for the Knicks.
46:07The same thing.
46:08It was hard to believe.
46:09It was just a beautiful pass.
46:10Harper lays it up and in.
46:12Nice move from Harper.
46:13Did Mikel Bridges get an assist?
46:15He did.
46:15Okay.
46:20Spurs have answered back.
46:21Nine straight points.
46:22They're back up 14.
46:25See, the thing with the Warriors team, they don't have anybody that can really dominate
46:29and break off the dribble to get shot-create.
46:32They've got to run through their system, but Budzemski's the only guy that can break somebody
46:36off the dribble and create.
46:37Harper gets inside.
46:38Count it.
46:39And a foul.
46:40Fox's steal started it.
46:41And Dylan Harper, a good tough move inside.
46:45A chance for a three-point play.
46:51Well, Dylan Harper's showing you why he was one of the top picks in this draft.
46:57Just a ton of explosive scoring ability, putting pressure on defenses constantly.
47:10ESPN on the home for all women's final four Friday night, highlighted by all four number
47:15one seeds, South Carolina and UConn, then Texas and UCLA.
47:20The final four pregame special from Phoenix begins at six.
47:24And that official tonight, Shea Flores in her fourth year in the NBA.
47:28She refereed a couple of final fours for the women back in 2019 and 2021.
47:33Now here in the NBA, there's going to be some great games in that final four.
47:45Tate Williams drives on Johnson, gets inside, can't get that to fall.
47:49Carter Bryant, the rebound.
47:52Bryant, he's just got to bounce to him when he gets in the game as Keldon Johnson kicks
47:56it out.
47:57The sell, trying to get going.
47:59That one off the mark.
48:00He's 0 for 4.
48:02Seth Curry back in.
48:09Back up top, Cryer.
48:13Curry off the bounce, gets inside, backs it on.
48:16Nice move from Seth Curry.
48:19That was good work by Curry because he short-hopped that pass.
48:22He scoops it and he wanted that about ways high.
48:26He was going to shoot a three most likely, but then he had to make an adjustment and beat
48:30somebody off the dribble.
48:31Only his sixth game of the season, various injuries.
48:34Fox from three-point range.
48:37Just the third three-pointer for San Antonio, but it's puts them back up 18.
48:42They went up by 17 earlier.
48:45The Golden State came back, cut it to 5.
48:51Curry finds some room.
48:53Mid-range, got it.
48:55He's 3 for 4.
48:59Good to see him back healthy.
49:01He's going to get a chance, hopefully, to play with his brother down the stretch of the
49:04regular season and in the play-in.
49:07So much talked about before the season didn't materialize.
49:10Harper now pulls up.
49:11That's short.
49:12Eric Seven grabs it.
49:20Curry.
49:21Curry can't get it.
49:23Can't get it.
49:23LaSalle, quick outlet.
49:24Fox throws it ahead to Harper.
49:26Harper goes right into Cryer.
49:29Can't get to the fall.
49:30The tip.
49:31Johnson couldn't quite hold on.
49:34Still San Antonio ball.
49:42And again, you talked about short hopping it, getting into that space, and that's a tough
49:47finish.
49:48Carter Bryant's got to get close to him because you're afraid of that three-point shot.
49:52And then here, again, you have to respect the three-point shot.
49:55De'Aaron Fox gets in the air before he even gives a pump fake.
49:59Champagny misses.
50:02Keldon Johnson thought he was fouled on his tip.
50:04He's looking for some help with the whistle there.
50:06Instead, he gets help from Bryant getting up.
50:09Still San Antonio ball.
50:16Once again, 14 on the shot clock.
50:22Champagny, corner three.
50:23Can't get it.
50:25Castle.
50:27So the free throw line took a shot in the throat.
50:32And then a little shaken up.
50:34Now we're under the five-minute mark.
50:38You know, whenever a team has one of the best records in the NBA, it's a happy place to be.
50:44And you always hear, everybody's on the same page.
50:47But you watch these Spurs, and you just watch the way they interact on the bench, out on the
50:52court.
50:53This team is so connected right now.
50:55That's what Castle said when we had the opportunity to talk to him.
50:58We were, you know, he mentioned UConn and how that group was so connected on their run
51:03to a national championship.
51:04And he says, this group feels very similar, very connected, how they hang off off the
51:09court, you know, the way they play on the court.
51:12And I'm not surprised.
51:13It's probably the same average age as the UConn Huskies.
51:17It really is.
51:18You look at some of them.
51:20Fox is the old man in the starting lineup.
51:24But they have, as you guys mentioned earlier, a couple of good veterans.
51:27A guy like Harrison Barnes is such an important vet on this team.
51:30Nate Williams rushed that a bit.
51:32Barnes, good defense.
51:33Quick outlet, Champagne surprised.
51:36Castle gets inside and banks it home.
51:39Both he and Harper.
51:41Castle and Harper in the open floor.
51:43For guys that are so powerful, the way they take it to the rim, they have incredible patience
51:47at the end of their drive to avoid charges.
51:50And with these step-throughs and they slow down and they de-sell and they're able to finish on balance.
51:57I just love their maturity for two young players.
52:00They don't rush things at this opportunity right there.
52:03That beautiful step-through gets them to a much better place on the other side of the rim.
52:06Six points, three assists for Castle.
52:09He's up to eighth in the NBA in assists per game.
52:12His growth as a shooter, his growth as a passer.
52:16And as Cryer, as we mentioned, Cryer playing his first NBA start.
52:21Knocks down the free throw.
52:22Well, Lyon's back in.
52:23Yurt 7 sits down.
52:26Cryer, first 15 games off the bench.
52:30Cryer last year lost the NCAA title game.
52:33He was with, played college ball at Houston.
52:36They lost to Florida.
52:37And his freshman year with Baylor, he won the NCAA title game back in 2021.
52:46You keep bringing up NCAA tournament, final.
52:49You're just baiting me into some things, aren't you, right?
52:52No, no, no, no, no.
52:54Yes, I'm testing your self-control.
52:56Pass inside.
52:58Knocked away from Castle.
52:59I did find it interesting that he has mentioned the final four several times.
53:03Several times.
53:04Ever.
53:05It's almost personal.
53:06I picked up on that.
53:06That's the first time Arizona's been said right now.
53:09It's just personal at this point in time.
53:11I understand that, where'd you go?
53:13You went to Syracuse?
53:15Fordham.
53:15Fordham, Fordham.
53:16Excuse me.
53:16I get the broadcasting schools mixed up.
53:18See, this is why I do what I do.
53:20Kellen Johnson misses.
53:22Castle gets the rebound.
53:25Champagny fires away and knocks down the three.
53:30Gillian Champagny, who has become a regular starter and a terrific player for them this year.
53:35Williams passed inside to Richard.
53:38Who won the NCAA title last year?
53:41Ball turned over.
53:43Castle foul by Spencer.
53:47Fischel's going to check if that's a transition take foul.
53:53Yep.
53:54That's what it is.
53:59So, one free throw in possession with 3.43 remaining.
54:07Champagny's going to go there.
54:10Lenz, are you glad that they started that, the transition take foul?
54:14No.
54:15I'm not.
54:16Tell me more.
54:16I just want to see the end of those plays.
54:18If a team has numbers out in the open floor, there's going to be opportunities for some spectacular finishes with
54:24the best athletes in the world.
54:25And we take that away by allowing that opportunity.
54:28So, your head let them play on.
54:29So, you're saying that they shouldn't call a foul?
54:33Not on plays like that.
54:34I'm talking about the ones that are more like touch fouls, ticky-tack fouls.
54:37Like, touch grabs in the backcourt to prevent what could be a spectacular finish at the end.
54:44Well, they do hope, in the long run, that players will stop doing that so they don't get the transition
54:50take foul.
54:51And you'll have more of those fast breaks.
54:53It hasn't quite worked out that way yet.
54:55I'm sure the NBA has some data on that.
54:57Kelton Johnson gets inside.
54:59Green does a nice job tipping it.
55:00Will Richard to Spencer, right back to Richard, inside, banks it on.
55:04Beautifully executed fast break.
55:08The Spurs still up by 20.
55:11Just over three to play here in the second.
55:14Champagny.
55:18Loose ball foul.
55:19That's going to be Draymond Green's fourth foul.
55:22He tried to box out with Mignogna and apparently hit him in the face.
55:26And just the Warriors getting out on the fast break.
55:29Now look, we already mentioned, they don't have a guy that can break you down off the dribble.
55:34So how do they score?
55:35They score through a system and then they soar getting out in transition and trying to get easy buckets.
55:41So at Draymond Green looking up, hoping for a replay.
55:45He didn't vehemently disagree with the call when Mignogna hits the free throw.
55:56Well, that's a foul.
56:01He's pointing the other way.
56:03Draymond's still negotiating it currently.
56:11You look up and you see now that Mignogna has 23 points and 12 rebounds in 14 minutes.
56:20Honestly, it feels more dominant.
56:24Spencer scoots through the lane.
56:27Mignogna guarding him out on the perimeter.
56:30Richard to Green up top.
56:32Spencer swings it.
56:33Nate Williams can't get it to go.
56:36Richard tried to keep it alive.
56:37Castle throws it ahead.
56:42Wemby against Draymond Green.
56:44Giving him room to shoot.
56:45Makes him pay.
56:4725 first half points for Victor Wemenyama.
56:55Spencer right back up to Green.
56:58Inside Spencer.
56:59He's going to try it.
57:00And shot altered just a bit.
57:04He's going to make you speed things up around the rim for sure.
57:07But we talked about how dominant he's been.
57:09And typically when you're saying his name this much, it's both ends.
57:12Hasn't really been as much the defensive end.
57:14It's been Victor Wemenyama offensively.
