04:30we are living in a world as sabrina was saying and we've we've mentioned that as we were praying we're
04:35living in a world saturated with noise a lot of noise a lot of opinions outrage division
04:44and constant pressure to react instantly microwave generation as believers however we are not called to
04:53react like the world we are called to walk in the sediment jesus himself warned us in matthew 10 16
05:02our main verse today and i'm reading now from the new king james version behold i send you out as
05:07sheep in the midst of wolves therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves this means danger is not
05:17always obvious it is often disguised that's why he commanded us to be wise as serpents spiritually sharp
05:25discerning aware harmless as doves pure humble led by love gentle why because the real battle is not
05:36physical it is spiritual ephesians 6 verse 12 reminds us for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but
05:44against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual
05:51hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places this means not every battle is what it seems not every
05:59voice should be trusted tonight not every reaction is righteous and i'm saying tonight for those who
06:12understand what i'm talking about here in australia tonight there was an announcement not every reaction
06:17is righteous discernment is not optional anymore it is an indispensable and indomitable spiritual gift
06:27it must be at work at all times in the times that we are living in today we're going to

06:51we can apply daily to guard our hearts protect unity recognize deception respond with spirit-led

07:51emotional hooks that's right so when content whether it's social media whether it's news that you watch
07:58whether it's the radio station that you're listening to when content provokes sudden anger fear outrage or
08:07self-righteousness these are signs of emotional hooks or triggers as we call it let me say that again

08:24hooks or triggers the enemy looks for unguarded reactive moments and bypasses reason by igniting the flesh
08:33igniting our flesh our body like bait on a hook designed to trigger reaction not reflection
08:43so in 1 peter 5 verse 8 we get warned be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks

08:54like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour and focus here on your adversary the devil walks about
09:04like a roaring lion they're very good at looking like something nice but they're not that they're not the lion
09:16amen amen amen jesus himself did not react emotionally for example at the synagogue on the sabbath day he
09:23healed a man all the while the pharisees or were waiting to accuse him mark 3 verse 5 tells us
09:30in the new
09:30king james version and when he had looked around at them with anger being grieved by the hardness of their
09:39hearts he said to the man stretch out your hand and he stretched that out and his hand was restored
09:45as whole as the other his anger was not reckless it was grieved and controlled he exercised self-control
09:57galatians 5 22 to 23 reminds us of this evidence of holy spirit's work is emotional discipline and self-control
10:06something that we desperately need in today's society that's right discipline and self-control
10:13let me give you a discernment tip if it demands if the situation if the content if what you're watching
10:21what you're listening to what you're doing a conversation they may be having even at work
10:26if it demands an immediate emotional reaction red flag wake up because that's a red flag some of the
10:36questions we should be asking ourselves are this does this push me to react instantly or to pray first
10:46am i being stirred emotionally more than spiritually
10:52proverbs 14 29 in new king james version tells us he who is slow to wrath has great understanding but

11:00who is impulsive exalts folly in other words wisdom is shown through restraint not quick reaction that's
11:10right amen amen amen so let me give you a laugh analogy here or w watch for emotional hooks if

11:38superiority and constant outrage we are here they are there you know those kind of attitude so we need
11:45to be alert to narrative built on us versus them moral superiority fear driven urgency or constant
11:55outrage cycles we must not forget god called his church to unity why did why did why did we say

12:02because right now you'll see there is a lot of things right us them going on even in the church
12:09circle
12:09right this one did this this one did that the bible says this is the bible say that this one
12:16is this one is
12:17that and they're not even looking at the core values of what's happened of what those people believe
12:22what they are looking for they're looking for errors so they can point point out as if it's a ministry

12:28just keep pointing out one uh every week what's going on i'm not saying if there is something that
12:35is blatantly um what do you call it um blasphemous that you shouldn't point out on the contrary if the
12:41person or the ministry is um a very well well known you should make known because lots of people are
12:48following right you don't want people to let us straight but you cannot just go us we are the
12:53best them are not the best and every every um denomination seems to have their us and them
13:02and i'm not even talking about what's happening in the economy right now i'm just talking about the
13:06church itself the every denomination i mean it every denomination has us and them people but
13:14nevertheless we still also have people with unity in those denomination let's let's see what the
13:19bible says 1 corinthians chapter 1 verse 10 from the new king king james version remind us now i lead
13:26with you brethren sorry plead but now i plead with you brethren by the name of our lord jesus christ
13:35that you all speak the same thing and that there be no division among you but that you be perfectly
13:43joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment this is something the early church had
13:51to learn as well like it's not something that's happening now or because we are closer to the end
13:55time or this or that that's why we are seeing more no it was even in the time of the
13:59bible as they
14:01struck the struggle with fractions even back then that's what paul was calling for unity factions not

14:13get me anyway proverbs chapter 6 verse 16 um to 19 says um also clearly advisors are sowing discord

15:39revelation 12 10 his strategy has always been fracture and isolation which mean divide and conquer
15:48does that look familiar in the economy system in the church system my church his church i'm the best
15:56prophet he's not the best um i saw he's done something wrong this one this one right so all those

16:03we need to take into account i'll give you a discernment tip if it consistently creates division
16:09rather than restoration it's not from god endorsed by god or supported by god in any way
16:16no matter how much they or you try to justify it and yes there's time where people can just take
16:23the bible and justify it but it might not still be god some of the questions we should be asking
16:27ourselves are does this produce unity in truth we're not just talking about unity i'm not saying that
16:33everybody we've like-minded just come together even if it's evil right this is not like those evil
16:39cartoon does this produce unity in truth or hostility in pride one does it makes us see others as enemies
16:50instead of a family in christ two after all even families have their differences and quarrel right
16:57i mean you may quarrel with your family does that mean you just let them you just let them down

17:01just don't talk to them ever no god's wisdom diffuses conflict rather than inflaming it

19:09and tell us all the things that are coming up
19:12because they're so
19:13experts
19:14they're experts
19:15because a government organization gave them a certificate
19:18so they are experts
19:19they know exactly
19:20they know better than you and i
19:23appearances can be deceptive
19:25but fruit reveals truth
19:29that applies to everything people
19:31as you can see
19:31we are giving you subtle points here
19:33why do we give little subtle sarcastic points
19:37let me tell you straight out
19:39as clear as it can get
19:40because in australia right now
19:42there is no freedom of speech
19:46we have to be very subtle
19:48in the way we talk
19:50because there's actually laws
19:51that can attack us
19:52just because of the faith we have
19:55and a lot of people don't know this in the world
19:57but it is true
19:59we're living in a very anti-christian society
20:02right now in australia

20:04and it's visible by the government
20:05that's ruling us
20:06that's right
20:07and let me just add this right
20:10the very words that i just spoke
20:13are very dangerous to say here in australia

20:16that is true
20:17and on that light

20:19you know if you're from a church
20:20and this podcast is mostly for christians

20:24bring it up with your leaders
20:27is there any new laws
20:29and that's one thing i find it's wise to do so

20:32you need to be informed as a christian
20:35even not just on the things of the bible
20:38and the things of spiritual
20:39but because you are a testimony in this world
20:42you need to be in
20:43to be informed of
20:46what is it in in the law
20:48of your country that you're living in
20:50that is um
20:51that is either against you
20:53or for you as well
20:55as a christian
20:56right
20:57and it is one of the things that i would really urge you
21:00talk to your leaders
21:01please um
21:02is there anything that um
21:04you know that's law that came out
21:06that would be detrimental for us as christian
21:08can we speak about it
21:10so we are all aware of it
21:11so we don't go and do something
21:13and then it's like
21:14oh well the law doesn't allow you
21:16well to do that
21:17and then you're like
21:17but i didn't know it
21:18well it is for the church
21:20to inform you
21:22what is a christian duty
21:24that is allowed
21:25by law
21:26in the country
21:26that you're living
21:27let's go

21:31so some leaders manipulate for personal gain
21:33yeah
21:34as mentioned in 2 peter 2 verse 3
21:36by covetousness
21:38they will exploit you
21:39with deceptive words
21:41for a long time
21:42their judgment has not been idle
21:44and their destruction
21:46does not slumber
21:48that is why in act 17 verse 11
21:51the bereans
21:52a type of people
21:53verify the teaching
21:55instead of blindly accepting it
21:57let me

22:07in that they received the word

22:38some of the questions
22:39we should be asking ourselves

22:46or twisted
22:50we know for a fact
22:51over the years

22:53a movement
22:53and a ministry
22:55that were even
22:55sowed into their ministry
22:56which helps fight
22:58human trafficking

23:02and revealed
23:03that even in the human trafficking
23:05there was something
23:06really horrendous
23:07happening
23:07that some of these
23:08human traffickers
23:09were using the bible
23:10and twisting
23:11biblical verses
