00:00But let's keep it in that general area.
00:03The Cleveland Browns restructured Miles Garrett's contract
00:08and the cap folks, right?
00:11There's a lot of different cap folks out there, Joe,
00:13basically said, all this does is make Miles Garrett more tradable.
00:19Doesn't save anybody a dollar today.
00:21It doesn't make Miles more money, less money.
00:24It's just now they can trade Miles Garrett with more ease.
00:30And it comes on the back end of the Browns proposing,
00:39instead of being able to only send draft picks out three years in advance,
00:42being able to send them out five years in advance.
00:46I am sure Cleveland is then thinking they will be able to ask
00:50for five first rounders in order to get Miles Garrett.
00:54I imagine they wouldn't get five.
00:56I'd like to believe they'll probably get three if it were to become a thing.
01:01Their general manager, Andrew Barry, nothing to see here, nothing to see here.
01:06Sure, but the numbers don't lie.
01:09Do you think this is something or nothing with the Miles Garrett contract
01:15being restructured?
01:16No, I think it's nothing.
01:18Again, we have had this discussion as it relates to Miles Garrett,
01:22whether Cleveland would be better off with him or without him.
01:26And again, I don't understand when you have a player coming off the NFL sack record,
01:32playing at an elite level.
01:34And I get that you want to ship him before his value dwindles and obviously regresses.
01:40But he is the best player on that team.
01:44And if you're going to rebuild, you want to make sure that you have that player on the roster
01:49as opposed to getting more draft picks and hoping that defensive players could duplicate
01:55the productivity that Miles Garrett has brought that organization.
01:59Again, defensively, Kevin, it's not like they are bad.
02:03They are right there as potentially a top 10 defense, I believe.
02:09They're very good against the run.
02:11They're very good in the back end against opposing quarterbacks,
02:14you know, at least yards per game wise as it relates to passing numbers.
02:18So why would you get rid of Miles Garrett when that side of the ball is already taken care of?
02:24Your concerns are at the quarterback position and wide receiver position offensively.
02:29And that's why you brought in Munkin to elevate that side of the football.
02:34Why wouldn't you want to have Miles Garrett on the roster?
02:37Again, I understand the draft picks, but their defense isn't 32nd in the league, Kevin.
02:42They are a top 10 unit when Miles Garrett is in that lineup.
02:46And if the offense can find a rhythm, they can then, I believe, challenge for eight or nine wins.
02:52What is wrong with that?
02:55I mean, I don't want to say there's anything wrong with challenging for eight or nine wins
03:01if it's a step in the right direction.
03:04Miles Garrett, Joe, to your point, came off of, you know, this unbelievable all-time great season.
03:11They won five games.
03:14So having Miles Garrett alone isn't good enough.
03:18We know that, right?
03:19We all think that a lot of it's going to come down to what Todd Munkin can get out of
03:25Shador Sanders, I'd imagine.
03:28And, you know, I like Shador, right?
03:30You know, I root for Shador, certainly.
03:33I'm not positive it's going to go well in Cleveland this year.
03:38And I think this Browns team, here's the thing, though, Joe, right?
03:42Do you think the Browns win a playoff game within the next two years?
03:50Yeah, I mean, yes.
03:52Think about, Kevin, you and I have sat up at the desk during the regular season and said, you know,
03:58the organization didn't draft all that bad.
04:01Look at the draft picks that they did.
04:02They had a great draft.
04:04But that's my point.
04:05But that's my point.
04:06I mean, if Quinshawn Junkins comes back from the injury, they have a solidified running back.
04:11They have Dylan Sampson, a change of pace back.
04:14They have potentially an above-average tight end in Fannin that stepped up and has that quarterback-to-wide receiver
04:20relationship with Shador Sanders.
04:23Their problem still is speed on the perimeter.
04:26But let's just say they throw a Carnell Tate into that lineup.
04:29All of a sudden now you have a big three.
04:32Now, if they can't get Tate, if they can get somebody else like a Jordan Tyson from Arizona State
04:38or somebody that can elevate like a Tate McMillan to Carolina, how far off are they?
04:45It's not a strip-it-down type of situation and build it from the ground up.
04:51We're talking about with Stefanski, five wins, and they're a revolving door at quarterback.
04:57They now at least are going to roll the dice with Shador for 17 games.
05:01And with Myles Garrett in that lineup, you've got to feel that he still potentially could give that team two
05:07or three wins throughout the regular season.
