00:09Israeli authorities reported that a major fire broke out in an industrial
00:12complex following an Iranian retaliatory strike. People gathered worldwide to
00:21commemorate Palestinian Land Day and to reject Israel's occupation and
00:25genocide policies against the Palestinian people. The Brazilian Landless Worker Movement
00:35gathers leaders from all 26 states in Jarecife for the first National Solidarity
00:40Hands conference.
00:47Hello and welcome to From the South. I'm Sophie Fernanda from the Telesur Studios
00:51in Caracas, Venezuela. We'll begin with the news. Stay with us.
01:13In Israel, a major fire broke out at an industrial complex following an Iranian retaliatory attack.
01:20This Sunday, a fire ravaged an industrial zone near the city of Beersheba, following an
01:25missile attack launched from Iran. The attack struck near the Havav, which is one of Israel's
01:31largest chemical manufacturing zones. According to reports, the attack factory
01:36contains hazardous materials for its product. The Israeli Fire and Rescue Service stated that
01:41it will take time to bring the fire under control and call for a complete evacuation of the area
01:46until a possible full decontamination is completed.
01:53In this context, Iran also confirmed Sunday the destruction of a U.S.
01:58E3 Sentry AWACS aircraft during an attack on base in Saudi Arabia. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard
02:05informed that the aircraft was completely destroyed following its operations against Prince Sultan Air Base.
02:12The military also stated that during this attack, dozens of military aircraft suffered structural damage.
02:19Meanwhile, the number of injured U.S. soldiers has reportedly risen to 10.
02:29Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC, announced Wave 86 of Operation True Promise 4, in tribute
02:37to Lebanon's motor journalists Ali Sheaib, Fatima Ftini and Muhammad Ftini.
02:43According to the IRGC, the operation began at dawn on Sunday and was also dedicated to Armenian and Christian
02:49mortars of the Eight-Year Sacred Defense and the Ramadan War.
02:53The IRGC detailed that during the first phase, missile and drone strikes targeted infrastructure
02:58linked to the U.S.-Israeli aerial and unmanned operations, as well as weapons stockpiles in Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
03:07Subsequent strikes hit U.S. and Israeli positions across multiple locations, including Arad, Nakab, Tel Aviv, Erbil,
03:15the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and Al Darfa in the United Arab Emirates.
03:27And thousands of people gathered in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, to attend the funeral of motor
03:33journalists Ali Sheaib, Fatima Ftini and Muhammad Ftini.
03:37The Lebanese journalists were killed on Saturday in an Israeli strike on Yassin in southern Lebanon,
03:43an action that the country's authorities described as war crime.
03:46For his part, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barot told the press that the motor journalists were the delivery target
03:53by the U.S. Army
03:54and called the action a blood and violation of international law.
03:58The Committee to Protect Journalists has documented at least 11 Lebanese journalists and press workers killed by Israel since the
04:06beginning of the conflict.
04:13We will continue to follow their example, this path, even if we have to die.
04:18It's better than living under oppression. Fatima was a heroine, Ali Sheaib a hero.
04:24They cover every battle in the south, filming on their bombardments, and we will continue even if we all have
04:32to die.
04:36I believe we are here today to reaffirm the media's commitment to the fact that however much Israel may bomb
04:43journalists,
04:44it will be not able to silence our voice.
04:47Today it's clear that Israel is pursuing and striking journalists because image and truth causes pain,
04:55and this is not the first time the Israeli occupier has targeted journalists.
05:01In this context, hundreds of protesters took to the streets across Turkey to demonstrate against U.S. and Israeli military
05:08campaign in the Middle East.
05:10The protesters gathered in Istanbul to condemn the murder of civilians and the destruction of infrastructure in the Islamic Republic
05:16of Iran by Israel and the United States.
05:19The rallies are attended by trade unions, religious groups, workers and students.
05:24The demonstrators also denounced violations of the peace agreement signed by Israel
05:28and the war crimes still being committed against the Palestinian people by the signed state.
05:40Meanwhile, Israeli police arrested 13 protesters in Tel Aviv Saturday when the violently dispersed a demonstration opposing the war against
05:48Iran.
05:49According to the Israeli police, the demonstration did not respect the maximum number of people authorized to concentrate in a
05:56public space in the times of national emergency.
05:59The arrest took place when the protesters disregarded the authorities' call to disperse.
06:04However, rally organizations denounced that the right-wing activists and the police received orders to arrest and silence demonstrators.
06:12They affirmed that the government is afraid of the expansion of protests which gathered thousands of demonstrators in more than
06:1830 cities across the country.
06:25And during his poem Sunday Mass, Populio XIV made a call for world peace and reconciliation amid the escalating conflict
06:32in the Middle East.
06:33His oldness urged those who listened to remember the peoples currently wounded by war in the world.
06:40With these words, the Holy Father marked the beginning of the Holy Week.
06:47Dear brothers and sisters, at the beginning of the Holy Week, we are closer than ever in prayer to the
06:54Christians of the Middle East,
06:58who are suffering the consequences of a dreadful conflict and in many cases cannot fully celebrate the rites of this
07:07Holy Week.
07:12Just as the Church contemplates the mystery of the Passion of the Lord, we cannot forget all those who today
07:20share in His suffering in a very real way, their trials challenged.
07:27The conscience of everyone, let us raise our plea to the Prince of Peace, that He may sustain the people
07:36wounded by war, an open concrete path of reconciliation and peace.
07:46In other news, nearly eight million people participated on Saturday in the protests across the United States organized by the
07:52No King Movement.
07:53At the end of the day, more than 3,300 protests were reported across the country, to reject what dozens
08:00of organizations and democratic activists described as President Donald Trump's authoritarianism.
08:06Protesters also denounced the illegal war launched a month ago against Iran, which has caused an increase in fuel prices
08:13and a new inflationary wave,
08:15and retaliated their criticism of abuses by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement .
08:20For its part, the White House dismissed the protests as start-up sessions for Trump's disorder, a phase coined by
08:27the President and his allies to taunt the opposition.
08:37And now we have a short break coming up, but first, remember, you can join us on TikTok and tell

08:45We will be right back. Stay with us.
09:10Welcome back.
09:11Pro-Palestinian rallies are held worldwide on Sunday, ahead of Monday on March 30.
09:17Several cities in the United States joined the protests against Israel's colonialist policies.
09:22From New York, our correspondent Henry Camelo has all the details.
09:28Hello, greetings to you and the Telesur audience.
09:31I'm reporting to you from Midtown Manhattan, where the commemoration of the Palestinian Land Day is currently taking place.
09:39For the past 50 years, Palestinians have observed Land Day as a pledge to remain on their lands in Palestine,
09:46to fight for them and to return to them.
09:48This is a day of unity and action in the struggle for liberation from Zionist subjugation,
09:55a promise to be relentless in their effort to liberate every inch of the land.
10:00In observance of this day, people from different parts of New York have gathered to demand the liberation of Palestine,
10:08that the territories occupied by Israel be returned to their original inhabitants,
10:14and above all, justice be served for the genocide to which the Palestinian people have been subjected by the Zionist
10:23government of Benjamin Netanyahu,
10:25while the world looks at it with inaction.
10:28This day of protest is transcuring peacefully, yet with very powerful messages demanding justice and liberation for the Palestinian people.
10:39Reporting from New York City, I'm Henry Camelo. Back to you in the studio.
10:46Meanwhile in Spain, several cities join the protests against Israel colonialist policies in commemoration of Palestinian Land Day.
10:53Cities rally in several cities to commemorate the struggle of the Palestinian people for their land and freedom.
10:59In Barcelona, demonstrators in Rambla del Raval gather as a sign of resistance to colonial aggressions.
11:05Protesters in Madrid are denouncing the genocide still being committed by Israel against the Palestinian people
11:10in the anniversary of the 1976 strike.
11:13Other demonstrations in support are also reported in the city of Córdoba, rallies in Palma de Mallorca, and olive plantations
11:20in Villanueva de la Vera.
11:26And the Brazilian city of São Paulo is hosting a rally to commemorate Palestinian Land Day and to condemn Israel's
11:32genocide against the Khazan population.
11:34On Palestinian Land Day, the Brazilian people take to the streets to assert their cultural identity and stand against the
11:41Israeli occupation.
11:42The event also urges people not to forget the genocide against the Palestinian people and highlights the importance of raising
11:48awareness about it on a global scale.
11:51In addition, Iranian flags are present at the protests as an act of support for Iran amid aggressions by the
11:57United States and Israel.
12:05In other news, the Brazilian Launless Workers Movement hosts the Fourth National Meeting of Solidarity Hands, an initiative aimed at
12:12developing the country's rural sector.
12:14The event begins Saturday and will conclude Monday, March 30th, with at least 900 participants from various regions to discuss
12:22the climate crisis and the environment.
12:24The main objective of the forum is to strengthen peripheral communities through community kitchens, food banks and support networks that
12:31will directly address the needs of vulnerable sectors in the country.
12:35This project has established itself as a national leader in the defense of life and the fight against hunger.
12:49And during the MSTEAM hosted meeting, the general coordinator for the social group, Joao Pelo Stedil, calling the participation organizations
12:58to express their support for Cuba,
13:00affirming that the Caribbean island was the country that has shown the most solidarity in the history of humanity.
13:08Cuba needs our solidarity.
13:11Cuba needs our solidarity.
13:12The Cuban people may be the people who have shown the most solidarity in the history of humanity.
13:17At least that is what I see in the social and political literature.
13:20This nation has shown solidarity for the whole world, with its doctors, its nurses and its engineers.
13:26And it also helped in the African liberation struggles when it defended countries like Angola and Zimbabwe.
13:37And now these people are humbly asking for our solidarity.
13:40We have to raise our voices to denounce the Trump administration.
13:44This is our first task.
13:45At the same time, we need to organize our bases to show material solidarity.
13:49Like, for example, by sending medicines that have been blocked by the gringo laboratories.
13:58We have a second short break coming up.

14:34Welcome back to From the South.
14:36We continue in Cuba where the Nuestra Americana Solidarity Convoy arrived in Havana Harbor,
14:41putting an end to days of uncertainty about its whereabouts.
14:44The initiative that organized in Mexico brings solidarity and aid for the island.
14:49The two boats set sail on March 20th from Isla Mujeres Mexico.
14:53To the departure, all communication was lost, which caused great concern among organizers and family members.
14:59The lack of contact led the Mexican maritime authorities to activate search and rescue protocols.
15:04The sailboats were later spotted in Cuban waters and assisted by port pilots successfully arrived in Havana.
15:11The convoys main cargo consists of donations of medical supplies intended for Cuba's public health system.
15:16It is suspected that the activists will follow a schedule on the island and officially deliver the aid in the
15:22coming days.
15:29We are very grateful to the Navy, to the Mexican Navy, for caring about us and coming to our rescue.
15:34We were never in danger.
15:39We had to make some decisions to extend the voyage to ensure the safety of the ship and the people.
15:48We want you to know that you have reached the heart of the blockade people, the heart of the people
15:54on the threat.
15:59The heart of the people who are facing great difficulties these days and who are making many sacrifices.
16:08For his part, Cuba's President Miguel Díaz-Canel welcomed the safe arrival of the crew that was part of the
16:13two solidarity sailboats that had lost contact for days during the voyage to the island.
16:18One of the crew members, a three-year-old girl, became the youngest pro-Cuban activist in the global wave
16:24of solidarity.
16:25On his social media accounts, the Cuban President emphasized,
16:29Finally in Cuba, these sailboats from the Nuestra America convoy had had us paying attention to the weather, the horizon
16:35and even the slightest update in the course.
16:38Finally in Cuba, with their solidarity cargo of essential resources but above all, with their cargo of love in defense
16:45of just causes.
16:45A three-year-old girl is the youngest crew member of this expedition, which has arrived in Havana to reaffirm
16:52that Cuba is not alone.
17:00A Cuban authorities expressed Saturday their gratitude for the arrival of the 15,600 tons of rice donated by the
17:07Chinese government,
17:08part of a total of 13,000 tons aimed at supporting the island in the face of this complex economic
17:14situation.
17:16The shipment is the third delivery received so far this year.
17:19During the official ceremony, the Cuban Minister of Domestic Trade, Betsy Díaz, highlighted that the donations arise at the opportune
17:26moment,
17:26and will be distributed in 11 provinces, from Pinal de Río to Las Tunas, as well as to centers that
17:32will provide essential services to the population.
17:35For his part, the Chinese ambassador in Havana, Hua Xin, reaffirmed his country's willingness to maintain cooperation and solidarity with
17:43the Cuban people,
17:43within the framework of bilateral relations between the two nations.
17:54And in other news, Venezuelan President Nicolás Melo and First Lady Celia Flores expressed their gratitude for the solidarity of
18:01the Venezuelan people and the international community.

18:16Every word of love, every gesture of affection, every expression of support, fills our souls and threatens us spiritually.
18:24We are well, firm, serene, and in constant prayer.
18:27We feel deep admiration for our people's ability to remain united in difficult times, to express love, conscience, and solidarity
18:34in Venezuela and beyond our borders.
18:37In his message, we also emphasize that the love you share with us becomes a moral force, inner strength, and
18:44a commitment to the highest values of life.
18:46Today, more than ever, we call on everyone to continue strengthening peace in the country, national unity, reconciliation, forgiveness, and
18:54reunion among all.
18:55Let no one stray from the path of dialogue, coexistence, and respect, for that is the path of the nation,
19:02that is the path of God.
19:04Finally, in the message, he mentioned that,
19:06And as our Lord Jesus Christ said in the Gospel according to Saint Luke,
19:10Ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to
19:15you.
19:16Ask with faith, seek with love, and knock with love.
19:19For God's path opens to the people who persist in truth, in peace, and in light.
