00:00Aqui em Detroit, let's go!
00:03E ele fica a flyer no inside, bom start Davies!
00:07Ah, é o seu time-mate, o rookie Dundee slips up the inside.
00:12Nice work, realmente nice work from him.
00:14E Romano...
00:16E Romano got away to a great start aboard the Kawasaki.
00:40o Mitch Payton e o crew,
00:41para o Drue Adams, que foi injurado,
00:46o que um incrível oportunidade para esse jovem man.
00:50Um incrível oportunidade para Kanan, não é?
00:52Porque ele ficou a grande promotion, ele ficou a grande call-up,
00:56after running an SMX next,
00:58mas ele foi found a tough going in the mains.
01:00Ele foi yet to crack the top ten as ele leads this heat.
01:03Will?
01:04Just going back to Romano there, Lee,
01:06and Ricky, it was incredible the ride that he got,
01:08but he told me that he kept himself in the best shape of his life.
01:13Without a ride, his agent, Jimmy Button,
01:15they were putting out the calls, asking,
01:17trying to sort of get a fill-in spot where they could,
01:19and he said, look, worst case scenario,
01:20I'm in the best shape of my life.
01:22Best case scenario, I'm ready when a ride comes.
01:24And it has come.
01:26You said he was on Drue Adams' bike there.
01:28Also, Ricky, with his settings,
01:30this week, this past week testing,
01:32he said this is tailored now more to him,
01:34and his expectations are higher coming in here tonight.
01:36Yeah, I would agree with that, too,
01:38and how he is riding right now.
01:39I mean, this is a kid who's had an unbelievable amateur career,
01:42and he's showed some speed and some promise,
01:44but, man, it is so great to see him.
01:47Track is fresh right now.
01:49And, hey, the rookie, Dudney, out there making it happen.
01:53All right, watch third place.
01:54All in red there.
01:55Here comes Cole Davies.
01:57He will not be enjoying seeing his teammate out in front,
02:00nor Nick Romano.
02:02And how about Joe Shimoda, bottom box?
02:05Joe's got some work to do.
02:06He's buried down in seventh.
02:08And that's a rare position for Joe to be in.
02:11Rarely do you see him get a bad start like that.
02:15He is so consistent in his starts, has been all season.
02:21Looking a little further down the order,
02:23behind Casey Cochran, who makes his return to racing.
02:26We'll talk more about him in a moment.
02:27He's behind Luke Cloud.
02:29And then you've got Luca Marsalisi.
02:31He is the only triumph rider in this 250 East division
02:36here in Detroit.
02:38So he's off to a terrific start as well.
02:44Quick reminder, you see that QR code bottom left of your screen.
02:47Scan that QR code for your chance to win an Insta 360 camera.
02:51It's fast, it's easy.
02:52Scan now, enter the win.
02:53Yeah, fast.
02:54Those things are so cool.
02:56The 360 around, I use them a lot on my adventure rides
02:59that I go to.
02:59You guys got to check them out.
03:01It's a great.
03:01There goes Joe Shimoda, bottom box, past Marsalisi.
03:04So Joe's made progress.
03:06Meanwhile, look at the top three in the top box.
03:08Dudney Romano Davies.
03:11Let's talk more about the race leader, JT.
03:14Yeah, it's just an interesting dynamic here.
03:16You think about Caden Dudney, he's leading out front.
03:18He was a graduate of that SMX Next class just this year.
03:22Nick Romano used to be on Monster Yamaha Star Racing.
03:25That's where that break came in.
03:27And then you have another graduate of SMX Next
03:29a year and a half ago in Cold Baby.
03:31So all three of these riders have spent their time
03:34on Monster Yamaha Star Racing.
03:36And all three of them were stars in the amateur race
03:38just a few short years ago.
03:39Hey, massive shout-out to Dudney and Romano right now.
03:43Okay, we just talked about how awesome you saw those stats
03:46that Cole Davies is doing, how well he's doing.
03:48Look at this game right now.
03:50But look at Joe trying to make a move by...
03:53What did that be?
03:54Cochran.
03:54Yep.
03:55Perfect.
03:56Straight up the inside.
03:57As simple as the corners, it seems, around that right-handed sweeping turn.
04:02You can make up a lot of ground, really trusting the bike mechanically there to get the job done for
04:07you and get some help.
04:08Nice comeback by Joe.
04:11Next one on Joe's list is the Kawasaki-mounted rider, Luke Clout.
04:16Keep your eye on this section right here where Joe is at.
04:18Some guys elected to go over that tabletop over a huge single, then triple out.
04:23It is so hard to get over that single.
04:26And if you don't, you flip your back tire, you have a high risk of going over the handlebars off
04:31that nice jump.
04:32So make sure you keep your eye out there all night long.
04:34Had a good chat with Luke yesterday.
04:36He said he's been struggling with his starts, so he'll be much more pleased with this to be running in
04:41the top four.
04:41Look at this, Nick Romano, Cole Davies.
04:44Positions have not changed.
04:46Again, a testament to how well these two guys are riding.
04:50I for sure thought that Cole Davies would have made the move by now just with how fast he was
04:56early today in practice.
04:59Look up, but there he misses the rhythm lane right there, and those guys just pull out.
05:05Pull out a lead.
05:08I mean, JT, you're watching Davies.
05:10What are you thinking right now?
05:12Yeah, well, you know, I'm wondering, Ricky, if it's really a product of the track being so fresh.
05:17You know, we know Davies has this big advantage in the whoops, but if the whoops are brand new, there's
05:23really no edge to be had.
05:24Look how quick those guys are going through there.
05:26Oh, wow!
05:27That's a massive crash from Caden Duttony.
05:29That's where he went down earlier today, but on the other side of the whoops.
05:33Yeah.
05:35Very, very hard crash, but he was extremely lucky to roll out.
05:39He didn't come to a complete stop, and like Lee said, that is exactly where he fell in practice.
05:45If you could imagine what you just saw there, how he went down in practice was way worse.
05:50Glad to see him back up hustling, but everything is good.
05:54Bike starts hopping left to right.
05:56Right feet come off the foot pegs, down he goes.
05:59Oh, boy.
06:01And just like that, Cole Davies has got by Nick Romano, and there's a different Monster Energy star Yamaha bike
06:07out in front.
06:09Things happen quick right here.
06:11Romano may have slowed down or was distracted by watching Duttony crash, but talk about these whoops.
06:19He had a huge advantage in the qualifying practices, and the whoops were a bit bigger, and I think over
06:24time,
06:25and as the SMX track crew have worked on these whoops, they've flattened out a little bit.
06:29So Amy Davies doesn't have the advantage like he had early on in practice.
06:34And you see Joe Shimoda has elevated himself to third.
06:38That's because Luke Clout went down right in front of him and has dropped outside the transfer zone.
06:45Jeremy Hand is in that all-important ninth and final position.
06:48This track is really sticky here tonight.
06:51The rhythm lanes and the ruts are kind of pulling these riders from one side of the track to the
06:56other.
06:56I heard Hunter Lawrence talking about it after practice.
07:00It's going to be difficult.
07:01Davies looks very calm.
07:03He looks like he's cruising.
07:05This is well and truly in his control.
07:06He'd win for Cole Davies, championship leader.
07:10Starts the night the right way.
07:11Well done, Nick Romano.
07:12He went to the LCQ last week.
07:14Fabulous.
07:15So to go straight through tonight, well done to him.
07:16Big gap back to Shimoda.
07:18Here comes the Honda HRC progressive rider.
07:21That's a good comeback for him.
07:23Wow.
07:24Great for Caden Dudney to get back up and still finish fourth.
07:28And to Casey Cochran.
07:31Here is that pass that we missed while we were focused on Caden Dudney's crash.
07:35You see that Romano overjumped the first jump of the rhythm.
07:39And he got off.
07:40Oh, contact by Davies and Romano.
07:44Cole has a quick look around and say, what was that?
07:47Anyway, nonetheless, another win.
07:49Let's go in.
07:49It Täpm K.
