35:28so a little bit upset and scared to what's going to happen in the boardroom today
35:33i brought cornerback to the boardroom last week he's definitely going to bring me back if we lose
35:38it's game on i'm ready for a war i feel like i'm walking into a lion's den with nothing to
35:43defend myself
35:43with it is a live tv selling challenge i'm not sure if i sold anything so that leaves me in
35:48a pretty
35:48vulnerable position you can go through to the boardroom now
36:09so tv shopping um team alpha i believe that karishma you
36:20wanted to be the project manager is that right yes lord sugar but then again pasha you haven't
36:25been a project manager have you you kind of like ducked it um i was waiting for the right task

36:31haven't got experience live selling however i do have a big following on tiktok and i do have a social
36:37media presence so you know i just felt like my skills and abilities would be best for this this sort
36:43of
36:43task so pasha's passion versus karishma's charisma yeah about that and i think we worked really well
36:51together okay so product selection the structure that i went in with is i want a high cost item
36:57and a low cost item if we can sell just a few of the high cost items potentially that could
37:02be the
37:02reason that we win the task so what you ended up with was the headphones the water flosser
37:09um and table tennis yeah so where was your luck um karishma while this all this was going on so
37:16lawrence and i spoke with the jewelry expert we were also joined with rothner and dan
37:20um we kind of were competing to get the product we wanted and we expressed our interest in the
37:25mid-range item you mean the ring the ring the tanzanite ring i was watching you uh selling that stuff
37:32apparently there was 11 in stock or something like that is that right yeah yeah um there still is 11
37:41in stock there is at the moment yeah because i'm afraid you didn't succeed and then one of the reasons
37:46i think you didn't succeed was because in my opinion you missed out the point of who you were selling
37:52to
37:53it should be love it should be about you know a gift for somebody instead you start giving them a
38:00geographic um description of where it comes from who gives a about that not exactly lord of the rings
38:09there my friend not quite no i mean in fairness krishman knew a lot about the rings and i think
38:15there was a bit of scarcity because um it only comes from a very small area hmm anyway i think
38:21the
38:21first people on your team was you and you with the headphones right correct okay and in the gallery
38:28was them two correct yeah yeah and silence i heard you sat there doing nothing for a while
38:37krishman you were close to mike do you do you agree with that um so we were
38:42was you getting much feedback initially um initially to be honest my earpiece was cutting out every
38:49five it wasn't cutting out they weren't talking okay well i mean my noise cancelling headphones it
38:55sounded like you must have had noise cancelling microphones in there anyway let me come on to
39:01the flosser yeah i was very confident selling it just because i have it at home and i did want
39:07to have
39:07food there as well which unfortunately i saw that you had some spinach you stick some in your mouth right
39:14and then you get the machine blow on it and then you take it out your mouth with your fingers

39:20yeah it was very very very good yeah the water power coming out it was powerful i could use it

39:26clean my car yeah yeah and then there's the ping pong i like that ping pong thing i was thinking

39:33setting it up in here for me to play um you sold 28 of those actually yeah anyway there we

39:45now connor you ended up with what i will call the core machine uh yoga mat correct boring uh
39:53and the shoe dryer unusual item right um so you start off um connor with the um the core circus
40:02you look like you're having an argument with an ironing board actually yeah yeah i definitely um
40:08look i came in with high energy and passion and i was hoping to shift that by using my energy
40:12then you then you call upon dan he comes in done a few bits and pieces and then went off
40:20we were we were we were doing a couple to work out at one stage i was doing pilates and
40:23dan was doing
40:24some core exercises so yeah i do i do think it was sellable i just probably didn't do myself justice
40:30hmm moving on from there then so you had the um bracelet you looked like you're putting on
40:36handcuffs at one stage a lot you lost the key you're fumbling around dan did very well also in
40:45terms of his engaging with the customers and saying their names actually saying which were the key yeah
40:49when you that was it was quite clever that when we said thank you for the order and all that
40:53oh they
40:54got some orders did they oh yeah they got some orders for it um i was extremely proud of dan
40:59for
40:59putting himself out of his comfort zone almost and really applying himself he exceeded probably
41:03all of our expectations oh there you go compliments there dan that's very kind compliments all right
41:09um moving on we've got uh kieran on the uh yoga mat yoga mat and that i mean i've got
41:17to tell you
41:17that was painful my friend painful did you say i'll do that one i said i i i would do
41:24that one
41:25um but i also offered to take a thick doormat to me yeah as yoga mats go it wasn't bad
41:34yeah can i just
41:36add low sugar i expected that the boys would probably pick an item that they were personally really
41:40confident selling kieran's great at selling so i was pretty shocked that he was just going to be
41:44selling the mats but then he was confident he could sell them in large quantity okay well moving on we
41:50went
41:51to the most unusual item the shoe dryer uh which levi uh took the role that's right lord sugar yeah
41:59that's correct i mean it's an unusual item in fact i bought one for my wife for christmas so she's
42:05going
42:05to be delighted when she opens it up she's going to throw that straight back at you yeah i mean
42:14you're
42:14putting shoes on the wrong way around pouring water in trainers um to be fair lord sugar and then um
42:21butch cassidy it comes running in at the end uh to help you out you know it was quite hard
42:28to get me
42:28bearings to be fair lord sugar it were um in gallery sounded like somebody ate the microphone and uh
42:35people just shouting and then yeah it would it would hard to concentrate try and get a point across
42:40whilst getting loading the ear hmm right okay well um it's that time now let's have a look and see
42:51how we did shall we so um thing you should know about tv selling is that you may have expectations
43:02of what you think you sold but as you know people change their minds right so i've now got the
43:10real
43:10confirmed figures from the shopping channel so tim can you tell me the final results of your team
43:18well you mentioned a number of sales have been made but unfortunately not all of those sales went
43:23through including the one high priced item of the core crusher that was almost sold but somebody pulled
43:30out but they still managed to sell 18 products giving them a total sales on the day of 773 pounds
43:38and 82 pounds well done everyone right okay good karen same question how did your team get on well
43:45unfortunately not all of their sales went through either um including one of the high priced headphones
43:53um and their highest priced item alan the ring you know they they didn't sell any of those at all
43:59um but they did still manage to sell 40 items across the hour totaling
44:08893 pounds and 60 pence right well done team alpha your first time as a project manager and you pulled
44:18it
44:19through yeah okay make your way back to the house i'll see you on the next house okay all right

45:22in strategy is like bringing high energy was great but i think ultimately what you two failed to do was
45:27to harness it in the correct way we sold me yeah and i accept i didn't you guys only sold
45:32two units
45:32each i had to roll up bit of phone mate connor sold nothing kieran didn't sell a lot and he's
45:37supposed
45:37to be an amazing salesperson and quite frankly i don't really know what levi is good at other than being
45:40a
45:40great guy the one person i was disappointed in kieran is you i have to say i've worked with you
45:44and i thought you're great when you're presenting i honestly thought you you'd do a bit better just
45:49because we felt the task for lack of instruction and no sales kieran loves to deflect and he loves
45:53to say he can't do something at the last moment he said he'd take a high ticket item just as
45:56we were
45:56heading out the door as he sounded enthusiastic about the yoga mat i gave it to him then he said
46:00maybe not i can't do yoga the reality is is that we didn't make enough sales it's down to selling
46:04i mean myself and rothner sold the most and i know it wasn't loads but we sold high ticketed items
46:10and sold multiple of them i would have thought with lower ticketed items we could have sold a few
46:13more the failure in this task lies with project manager connor and kieran the polar opposites
46:18they don't work well together in it and it showed in this task
46:33yes would you send the candidates in please
46:47well uh you lot lost by 120 pounds which
46:55it's not a lot of money now alpha sold 40 products
47:00and you sold 18 only so connor the core machine that you demonstrated the last time the professional
47:09presenter did it they sold 55. yeah so so my plan with the core circuit yoga was two two target
47:17audience the older or maybe new to fitness and then the more experienced user of fitness like myself
47:22i demonstrated as someone who's maybe avid in fitness and wants to use it to enhance their
47:26workouts maybe after a cardio session i think it implied you had to be very fit to use it yeah
47:31um anybody i'm not surprised you were sweating because you hadn't sold any
47:34yeah definitely i did give it my all it did give my energy and i hold my hands up
47:38i'm disappointed as pm that i didn't sell one item i mean dan walking in it looked like you called
47:43in a
47:44bloke from from it you know now then um rothner and dan the the bracelets um you only sold three
47:55they usually sell 21 in that slot i am disappointed that we only ended up selling three of them
48:02i did really believe in the product and i hoped it come across if you'd have got the ring and
48:06sold
48:07three of them yeah like you sold three of the bracelets you would have won so we didn't go why
48:11didn't you get the ring we we thought maybe connor might find the ring a bit too expensive
48:15he was quite clear about asking for a mid-range item but when i asked for numbers in the brainstorm
48:21he didn't give any numbers it's a mid-range my mid-range could be very different to your mid-range
48:24your role was to pick deal of the day so what what what she's trying to say is that it
48:28was left
48:29to our own devices to pick what we thought was the most sensible item that we could sell on tv
48:33but that's what that's why you replaced and you pick the cheapest yeah um now moving on the yoga mat
48:41this company has sold 390 in the last session you sold six and you say you are a um super
48:51salesman
48:52so i'm a salesman yeah absolutely um well you didn't sell many did you so i did offer to swap
48:58the high-end item i was told no were you not extremely enthusiastic about the yoga mat
49:02i said i could take it i wasn't mate i'd done the sit-ups i'd done a few press-ups
49:06exactly
49:06levi was levi come in to perform on the mat right at the end you should have sent him in
49:11out of it it were a bit painful to watch so i looked at galleries you were painful to watch
49:16my
49:16friend you were really painful to watch all the way around including the shoe dryer thing i mean
49:22what a bloody product that is and you know what they usually sell 300 in a session 300 i've never
49:29heard of it and you sold three i did try to explain about the shoe drying properties but when i
49:34had
49:34somebody like team shouting in my ears i had kieran walking towards me they were very distracted for
49:39me well one of the comments from a viewer was that this is a joke i'm flabbergasted i can't watch
49:46it
49:46anymore i tuned out right and i have to say i was flabbergasted also i think it was diabolical
49:53i do believe that um on reflection it is um
50:00it's actually time i've i've won most at task lord sugar well no you didn't win them you didn't
50:05win them you didn't you was on winning teams so so you know what um levi um it is with
50:13uh regret

51:19task it was the worst tv selling i've ever seen in this whole process the worst painful anyway kieran
51:28i mean he's a chirpy chappy he chirped a lot but he didn't make the sales the important thing on
51:33this
51:33task was to convert the products to something that the audience wanted and unfortunately he made such a
51:38hash of that mat nobody bought anywhere near the numbers that you said you got from the channel
51:44themselves then the man obviously they sold three bracelets had they instead of chosen the ring and
51:51sold three rings they would have won i mean he was with rothner when they picked it maybe they didn't
51:56engage the buyers as well as they could have um connor well connor's a great talker he emphasized
52:03his ability in front of the camera but he wasn't that good behind the camera unfortunately a lot of
52:08this does rest on his shoulders could you send the three of them in please
52:24so on this task connor you were the project manager you've been a project manager twice
52:31right and regretfully you lost twice hmm why have you brought these two back in then
52:38um when i made my selection i reviewed the entire process that we've made it here um when it comes
52:44to kieran in fairness to kieran kieran has grabbed the bull by the horns and he's really applied himself
52:48but at times he's being called difficult to work with and disruptive so in terms of looking for your
52:53next apprentice i just don't know if he would be the correct candidate everyone works with people
52:57different correct yeah and that's that's not my decision to make but that's just my perspective
53:01when it came to dan dan was slow to get into the process and maybe didn't apply himself
53:06every week to the extent that me personally has well i mean this was a selling task um myself
53:11i sold 300 pounds worth of stuff they sold 60 pounds between both and i think throughout the
53:15whole of this process i know it took me a little while to settle into it but this has been
53:19a big
53:19learning curve for myself i've developed a lot of skills i've learned how to work with people but
53:23i wouldn't necessarily usually work with and i think i've really grown in this process in terms of
53:26becoming a better business business person for yourself lord sugar hmm kieran super salesman sold
53:32six been on the losing side five times yes lord sugar i've put myself forward for a lot of things
53:42i
53:42haven't shied away and i've given everything my all some it's the team effort not just an individual
53:47effort so where i might have small wins the team may not always win hmm right
53:52well here we have a dilemma really i have to make a decision lord sugar if i may yes
54:00i've been project manager twice on the same task
54:03and you won once by a deep four arguably a one a win yeah yeah if i stay in this
54:10process i would
54:11like to be the project manager on task 10 to prove to you what i can do if i lose
54:16we shake hands i walk
54:16out all right that's very interesting anybody else want to make that offer uh i don't feel the need
54:24to you can i can if i want to i felt that i over the last eight tasks i don't
54:29need another task to
54:30prove myself i have given myself one you lost you know you've lost five you've been in the losing
54:35team five times correct and every time within those tasks the project manager has usually always had
54:39a very specific role that they've wanted me to excel in and at numerous times within this process
54:44i have excelled i don't need a tenth task to beg you to to take me you don't i don't
54:49i don't think
54:50i do what about you dan i feel like over the past nine tasks i've really kind of proven myself
54:56in
54:56many different ways um i i do believe that ultimately you've got to decide who you want
55:01to go into business with i know that i've only ever worked for myself i'm an entrepreneur through
55:04and through that's all i know and the industry that i'm in i know it so well so it's whether
55:09you
55:09think there's great potential with my business that i've got and if it's something you want to join
55:12me on the journey with hmm i have observed you over the past nine weeks um dan
