00:00To the barstools?
00:01For a barstool.
00:02Okay.
00:05And the same ones, right here?
00:07Yeah.
00:09Yeah.
00:17Want to ask any other questions?
00:19You can ask me whatever you'd like.
00:21Um, are you guys after any investigation?
00:24Is that what it is?
00:25It's just follow up to what happened to you tonight, right?
00:27So, obviously the incident occurred.
00:29There was just some follow up that the district attorney,
00:32who's ultimately this case goes to,
00:35they wanted us to come out and just grab one of these.
00:42I guess my address was on the internet and that's allowed?
00:47When it becomes public record,
00:49yeah, where whenever there's a police incident
00:52and wherever it happens,
00:54once it gets taken...
00:55We don't really study it.
00:56Yeah, it's not us.
00:57If you want to talk to Sergeant Jennings,
00:58he's our public information officer.
01:00His number is on that release.
01:02I just don't want to worry about the safety of the children
01:04when that's leaked.
01:08I'm not going to disagree with you there,
01:10but it's just a matter of what's law
01:12and what isn't law.
01:13And people, when something becomes a public record,
01:15they have what's called a grandma request.
01:17Okay.
01:18And then they can fill that out and whatever information that...
01:20It's not part...
01:21They're not going to release your social, your phone number,
01:23that kind of stuff.
01:24But where the address occurred, that stuff will always be on there.
01:28I don't know if you guys are familiar,
01:29if you're the people to talk to like through this,
01:31but like everything that happened
01:33and you guys do an investigation,
01:35so is that why the case hasn't been filed with the courts yet?
01:38Or...?
01:38That's what...
01:39It hasn't been filed with the courts.
01:41When I said filed, it's with the courts,
01:43but it hasn't been like pushed through
01:44to whatever the ultimate outcome is going to be.
01:47Like if they give you a court day,
01:48if they tell you what you're specifically going to be charged with,
01:51it hasn't quite hit that point.
01:52Okay.
01:53So you guys do everything to kind of see where it hits.
01:55We've screened the case with the DA's office,
01:58with this training.
01:58It's their job to decide what charges are filed,
02:03if they're filed,
02:04and then they'll send it to the court.
02:06And are you guys kind of familiar with my case then I assume?
02:08Yeah, I'm the investigator on it.
02:11Okay.
02:11So I know I saw that I was being charged with like reckless child abuse.
02:18What is the difference between reckless child abuse and child abuse?
02:21So child abuse, say like, say your kid's knocking off to you or something,
02:24a young child, and you backhand them,
02:27which it's not wrong.
02:28You can physically discipline your child,
02:30let's say you did it to the point that it gave them a bloody nose.
02:32Sure.
02:33That would be just child abuse.
02:34You intentionally applied physical force that caused an injury.
02:38A reckless thing would be like, say I'm angry and upset,
02:41and I'm cleaning out my closet,
02:43and I know my children are around,
02:44and I chuck out, you know, like a box of something,
02:48and it hits my kid in the face, and he ends up with a cut.
02:50Yeah, that's the difference between reckless and like just straight.
02:53So I guess reckless sounds worse, but is that, I guess, so it's a...
02:57It's a lesser charge.
02:58I was going to say it's an accident.
02:59They're about, they're the same depending on their injury.
03:01Because there's negligent, reckless, and normal.
03:05And then just child abuse.
03:06And it depends on the level of injury, right?
03:09Like if you hit a kid and he gets a little scratch,
03:11that's just a minor, that could be a minor charge.
03:13But if you hit him and he gets a concussion or breaks a bone,
03:16that's obviously a minor charge.
03:17And so, I guess obviously me throwing the chair at my boyfriend,
03:21him deflecting, and it was an accident.
03:22She didn't have any injuries, I guess.
03:26Um, where does that, I guess, show child abuse,
03:29even though it was an accident?
03:31Like she had no injuries?
03:32I think you would make the argument that there was child abuse in the moment.
03:35Like the item hit her, caused her to cry.
03:39And according to what we, when we talked to family members afterwards,
03:42that your daughter did have a little minor injury.
03:44She did?
03:45Mm-hmm.
03:46Okay, because my mom said that she talked to the officer
03:48and they checked for that and she didn't.
03:51So, have one.
03:52Well, we didn't check because I think the officer at the time
03:55didn't realize that that had happened.
03:56Yeah.
03:57This was until later.
03:58So the officers didn't check.
03:59So we spoke to multiple people, not just your mom.
04:01And it was based on talking to a couple different people
04:04where we came to that determination.
04:06Okay.
04:07Okay.
04:08So, I guess even...
04:10I don't know, I'm just freaking out
04:11because it was obviously like an accident.
04:14Um, do they take all that in consideration that I...
04:17And I'm sure they have footage of it since there was a video filmed.
04:19Mm-hmm.
04:20Um, do they take that in consideration
04:22that I wasn't like aiming for my daughter?
04:24Well, that's why it's reckless, right?
04:25That's why it's not just straight child abuse.
04:27Okay.
04:27Um, I don't think anyone would...
04:30At least based on what I saw and what I read,
04:32no one's saying you intentionally hurt your child,
04:34but there were some actions that were reckless, right?
04:37Yeah.
04:38And she was there and unfortunately was a victim of it.
04:41And how do you see these cases going?
04:43It... I can't give you that answer.
04:46I mean, they're so varied.
04:46It would be better to talk to the prosecutor.
04:48Yeah, it would be something.
04:49Or your lawyer type.
04:50You're not going to talk to the prosecutor or whatever.
04:52Yeah, I'm just freaking out.
04:53It's hard.
04:54Right.
04:55It sucks.
04:56Well, I would just tell you,
04:57I mean, my advice to you is, you know,
04:58stay in contact with your attorney.
05:02Don't realize that this isn't the end of the world.
05:04There's going to be some pain that comes along with it,
05:07but you'll get through it.
05:09Almost everybody that goes through this gets through it,
05:11and you have to pay consequences,
05:13whatever they could potentially be, right?
05:15But...
05:16And that will aggravate the situation by having another incident.
05:20Yeah.
05:20Yeah, definitely will do it.
05:21That doesn't work.
05:22Great.
05:24Yeah, and don't...
05:25If you're given any orders to stay out of contact with certain people,
05:28even though it could hurt,
05:29like you may be given an order not to contact your child for a while.
05:32Okay?
05:32Yeah.
05:33And then just as hard as that is,
05:35you need to stick to it.
05:36Okay?
05:36And honestly, that's a bigger charge than probably the child abuse.
05:40Yeah.
05:41That's probably a class A, which is...
05:42I mean, the child abuse is probably a B.
05:44Yeah.
05:45So it's, you know...
05:47A B is like a maximum of six months in jail,
05:49or an A would be a maximum of a year in jail.
05:51Okay.
05:52I thought I was charged with a felony now.
05:53You are for the assault,
05:54but I'm saying like the child abuse thing.
05:57Is it B still?
05:58I believe that would be a B.
05:59Yeah, all your charges were B's except for the assault part.
06:03All right.
06:04It was a felony?
06:04I believe that.
06:05Okay.
06:06But that's something, like I said, stick to your attorney.
06:08Talk to the prosecutor.
06:10See what can be worked out if you decide to go that route.
06:13But again, that's something to talk with them about.
06:15Okay.
06:15And do you guys know how long you typically go with investigations?
06:19Well, our investigation...
06:20This is pretty much the last part of our investigation.
06:22It will go to the...
06:23I'll finish up and send it to the district attorney.
06:25They'll probably have it filed, I imagine, by the end of next week,
06:28which should say what you've specifically been charged with officially.
06:31Mm-hmm.
06:32And then from there, court dates will be set.
06:35And from there, depending on what route you and your attorney decide to go, it could take
06:38anywhere from months to years.
06:41Really?
06:42Mm-hmm.
06:42Yeah.
06:43I went to court on a case yesterday.
06:44It was two years.
06:46So with this, like, you guys looking at this, like, is it, I guess, like, is it super bad?
06:52Is it super bad?
06:53Well, no one's dead.
06:54So, I mean, it's not super bad, right?
06:56Mm-hmm.
06:57But, I mean, it's not a good thing.
06:59I know.
07:00It's definitely not a good thing, but it's...
07:01We deal with things on a much higher level.
07:04It's not life altering.
07:05Yes.
07:06It's not the end of your world.
07:07Mm-hmm.
07:07You will get past it, trust me.
07:09And that's what I was trying to say earlier.
07:11Like...
07:11Yeah, this is not gonna end your world.
07:13I would use this as a really good learning lesson.
07:15If you need to get some help for any issues, get it.
07:18Mm-hmm.
07:19That's what this is gonna turn into, I think.
07:22Yeah.
07:22Yeah.
07:23So...
07:24Yeah, the biggest thing is not...
07:25It's not the end of your world.
07:26Yeah, this is not gonna be the end of anything.
07:30You'll move on from this, trust me.
07:32I mean, do you think about it?
07:33Everybody does.
07:33Everyone has bad moments in their lives.
07:35Sometimes they just get blown up to a point where, you know, maybe police have to become involved.
07:41Sometimes they don't, right?
07:43Yes.
07:43But we all get to move past them if we choose to.
07:46Do you take into consideration everything that, like, happened to me, like, this year?
07:49You can...
07:50That will be all stuff that you can argue with the prosecutor.
07:52Okay.
07:53I mean, the difference in your case, you're kind of a public figure.
07:55I know.
07:56So you're gonna have to control that, right, and make sure it doesn't overwhelm you.
07:59And so use your support system.
08:01Mm-hmm.
08:02Try and not...
08:08Sure.
08:09I mean, you gotta expect that.
08:10So that's what I mean.
08:10Use your support system.
08:12Try and ignore as much of the crap that's coming at you.
08:16I'm wondering from, like, the prosecutor courts, do you...
08:19No, they're pretty...
08:19They're pretty...
08:20I mean, I think it's...
08:22We try and be as unbiased as we can, right?
08:24Like, you know, just another person in our system that is going through this ordeal.
08:32So...
08:33Okay.
08:33I can't imagine that.
08:36So...
08:41You have...
08:42You obviously have a life that you can move on with.
08:46So all that stuff can be taken into consideration.
08:49But just our biggest...
08:50Like I said, our biggest thing is, like, don't be doing something to make it worse.
08:53Don't be making contact with people you're not supposed to.
08:55Don't be jumping online and, you know, spouting off, going crazy, doing things that the prosecutor
08:59are like, see?
09:00This is...
09:01She's exactly the person that we think she could potentially be.
09:04Well, I imagine there's a jail release agreement.
09:06Yeah.
09:06With your boyfriend, right?
09:07So that means you can't talk to her.
09:08You can't go with the police.
09:09You can't, you know?
09:10Yeah.
09:11Um...
09:11Just divide by all the things that they give you to do.
09:14Look like the model citizen up until, you know, you...
09:17You talk to a prosecutor and they decide where you're gonna go with it.
09:20Okay.
09:21Okay?
09:22Okay.
09:22Thank you, guys.
09:23Do you have any questions?
09:25I'm gonna take one of these because that's what they asked for.
09:31I don't have a receipt.
09:35Do you have one?
09:37I probably do.
09:38If you do have one, I'll leave you at the receipt.
09:45Do you know what usually happens?
09:51What usually happens?
09:53Like I said, what usually happens is kind of hard to...
09:57Say.
09:57Say.
09:58Because they are so bad.
09:59Like it can be...
10:02You can talk to the prosecutor within a couple of weeks and cut a deal and say,
10:07Hey, this is what we'd like to see happen.
10:09And it could be in and out of your hair in the next couple months.
10:12Or your attorney may say, they're doing something I don't think is right in this situation.
10:18And say, maybe we should fight this.
10:22It's gonna be ultimately up to you.
10:23But I say, consult with your attorney a lot.
10:26And what you are gonna do with it.
10:29And you said you are moving from this location?
10:31In May.
10:32Yeah.
10:32So we're just gonna try like cleaning it up.
10:36That's my lease is up.
10:38Okay.
10:38Gotcha.
10:40But kind of a good thing if my internet or my address is everywhere.
10:45Yeah.
10:57People act really differently when they consume a lot of alcohol or those type of things.
11:04Yeah.
11:05Like you right now is not who you were in the video.
11:07Alright.
11:08There you go.
11:15Not like you said.
11:16You'll get through it.
11:17Okay.
11:18I don't think it's the end of the world.
11:19That is though when you don't have your kids.
11:22Alright.
11:22You don't have them right now.
11:25But you're not gonna not have them forever, right?
11:29They don't know.
11:31They don't know.
11:32I can tell you right now.
11:33You're not gonna not have them forever.
11:35There's a felony charge of a pretty big belt.
11:38No.
11:39Wow.
11:40You see people with much higher charges than still have her kids with.
11:43I mean just.
11:46Do you have a plan on that?
11:49Yeah.
11:50Okay.
11:52Do you have any other questions before we go?
11:55Okay.
11:56Do you want to get the boss?
12:00No national catch in the room.
12:03Is that a starter?
12:14What is post-match?
12:15Yeah.
12:16I mean that's.
12:16I mean that's.
12:18Well.
12:19They're the prostitutes.
12:20Figure that out.
12:21Yeah.
12:22Yeah.
12:23What is post-match?
12:24All right, thank you.
12:32Good luck, Taylor.
12:33Good luck to you.
