00:00What's really interesting is let's talk about the power plants.
00:03These have become such a focus of the threats between Donald Trump and Iran at the moment,
00:10and it seems to have really pivoted around this.
00:13It has become a major focus.
00:15Now, this is mainly about Karg Island.
00:18Now, Karg Island is a small island off of the coast of Iran,
00:21and it's home to a major oil terminal,
00:24and it's actually considered the country's economic lifeline.
00:27Now, on the 13th of March, the U.S. military bombed Karg Island,
00:33quote, totally obliterating the military infrastructure,
00:37but they also said that they had held off targeting the oil infrastructure,
00:41and a White House official later told the BBC that the U.S. military can take out Karg Island at
00:48any time.
00:49So the threat has been looming for a very long time.
00:52Now, with regards to these power plants, there are plans, rumours of plans,
01:00to strike 130 or over 130 Iranian power plants.
01:05Now, these provide 95% of the country's electricity.
01:10However, Iran has very much come back with an eye-for-an-eye approach
01:16and said, if you go after our electricity, we're going to go after yours.
01:20Now, what this is called, this is called infrastructure warfare,
01:24where you disable the systems, electricity, power, desalinisation plants,
01:30and it's actually as powerful as wiping out, you know, military bases or destroying armies,
01:36because you're effectively crippling military operations, because they run on electricity.
01:43Radar, air systems, command and control centres, communications,
01:47absolutely everything runs on electricity.
01:49Now, if you take out the electricity, you're also taking out a country's infrastructure,
01:55oil production, refineries, banking, finance systems, transport, logistics, hospitals, water systems, schools.
02:01You're taking out absolutely everything.
02:03So, it's no small threat to say that you're going to obliterate Karg Island
02:09or even go and finish the job that you started.
02:12Now, the problem with this is, as I've said, Iran has said they're going to meet head-on,
02:16strikes with strikes.
02:18You've got tit-for-tat escalation, and we've got the potential to see that build.
