00:00And Iran is facing a generational drought.
00:03Can you give some context of the importance of this drought domestically in Iran?
00:08Yeah, I'm glad you mentioned that. This is a really important story.
00:12You know, this is impacting in particular the citizens of Tehran.
00:17Millions and millions of people facing a catastrophic, really, water shortage.
00:22And the Iranian regime has been trying to handle this, right, because this is a basic need, obviously, of people.
00:35And the thing that the mullahs and the RGC fear the most, obviously, is an uprising from inside.
00:41And there's no easier way to lose control of the population than to run out of water and food.
00:49So this is a result of decades of mismanagement on the Iranian government's side.
00:56Obviously, a drought plays into it, but they have mismanaged this so badly over the years.
01:02And part of that is a corruption problem that now the citizens of Tehran and Tehran and Mishad, they're facing this catastrophic problem.
01:13They're, you know, rationing water.
01:15Even as we speak, they're talking about, you know, this could, you know, they could run out in the next week or week and a half.
01:22Masoud Peseshkin, the president, has talked about, well, maybe we need to relocate the capital.
01:27So I'm glad you brought this up because this has flown under the radar.
