05:49And that's really where the problems come in for the Clippers.
05:52So, of the remaining 11 games tonight included,
05:56just one of those back-to-back Clippers should be able to play these guys some good minutes together.
06:03And, Brent, just three teams that are right now qualified as playoff teams.
06:07Toronto, San Antonio, and OKC.
06:10And I really think those last two opponents are going to be managing some rest themselves.

06:17And, of course, the game against San Antonio, it's a chance.
06:20It's a good chance that the Clippers could see them in round one should they stay in the eighth spot
06:27and potentially find victory over the Suns in a play-in situation.
06:32But Lopez is now five for six.

06:38And a very busy month for the Clippers.

15:20game what did you see in Ty Lou then
15:23that enabled him to be successful now
15:25and Doc joked and he said well he stole
15:28all my stuff he laughed about that he
15:30said he added Ty is just a true student
15:32of the game and he's brutally honest
15:35he said Ty has the ability to be
15:37brutally honest with his players and
15:39still have his players like him he
15:41said that is a tricky line to walk and
15:43Ty does it very well now Ty has had the
15:46coaching matchup versus Doc it's in Doc's
15:49favor Ty is five and ten against Doc
15:51as head coaches
15:52Doc said that was a stat he was unaware
15:54of he doesn't pay attention to his
15:55records against other coaches but Doc
15:57did appreciate that note although I
15:59think that's going to change tonight

16:20I talked with Doc as we were leaving
16:22that press conference and he said you
16:24know every coach will go through this
16:26and he uses the word clutter a lot of
16:29clutter yeah and he was asked
16:30specifically about examining Ty Lou's
16:33job this year with the Clippers and
16:34what has he done he said he's managed
16:36that clutter well and for those of us
16:39in our real lives how do we deal with
16:41clutter well you keep things you donate
16:43things you trash things and you relocate
16:47things and I'm thinking about the
16:48Clippers season and feels like Ty has
16:51done exactly that with some of the
16:53clutter on the roster and what's going
16:55on this season and very I mean I was
16:57there on December 20th when he said
17:00we're going to go 35 and 20 and at no
17:03point I mean I went through the
17:04schedule and I thought I don't know if
17:06they get to 20 wins just by based off
17:08of the way that they were played
17:10and here's the turnaround even after
17:12the win against the Lakers I'd be
17:13lying to you if I thought oh they
17:15found something well they did and it
17:19has been progressively going to rear
17:21view mirror I'm going to say
17:22something Brian and you might get on
17:24me about it but the players
17:26responsible for the six and 21 are
17:31not the same players who are
17:32responsible for the response and
17:35whatever was going on in the beginning
17:36of the year whatever the clutter
17:38was there was agendas and it was
17:41personal and it wasn't working and at
17:44some point there were enough players
17:47who decided that they were going to
17:49commit to the season to turn this
17:51thing around I give the staff credit
17:52because I guarantee you the message
17:54was not shaken from the coaching
17:56staff but somebody on that on that
17:59bench was responsible for that
18:01change and this is not that team
18:05I'm going to get letters I'm going to
18:06get something from somebody it's
18:08okay I've watched the whole year
18:10the way I feel about how the season
18:12is gone you bet you've got a front
18:13row seat and you are a former
18:15assistant coach and somebody in the
18:17front office you know stuff they're
18:20going to review this here make sure
18:21everybody is okay it looks like a
18:23screen there with Portis and then
18:25tripped up by Kobe Sanders and Ty's
18:29not going to give any
18:29consideration for this and then I
18:31get it you're only at best you're
18:33going to be right around 500 but when
18:35you think of great coaching jobs
18:37and coach of the year situations
18:38he's not going to get consideration
18:39but I don't know but team has ever
18:41had a more challenging situation
18:42given the expectations and to have
18:46this turn around after replay review
18:49the foul does not rise to the level
18:51flag or foul therefore it's a common
18:53foul Milwaukee's in the penalty
18:56therefore they'll shoot the bonus
19:03well good that nobody's getting hurt
19:05here but Kobe getting tangled up
19:08with Bobby Portis and just holding
19:10on a little bit too long and
19:12Portis has been dealing with a rib
19:14injury he's had some attachment to
19:16his ribs that kept him out of the
19:17game at Phoenix so anything around
19:19that area I think the Bobby's still
19:20sensitive and that's why he was on
19:22the floor a little bit longer than
19:24maybe you would imagine a player
19:26to be on the play I think I do
19:31sorry to speak my truth but you're
19:32right about Ty Lue on the coaching
19:34front and I will say this not
19:35everybody in this league gets an
19:38award because you've done a good
19:39job you know and Ty has done a
19:41remarkable job he will not be
19:43rewarded for coach of the year but
19:45I guarantee you coaches in this
19:47profession and the fans the true
19:50fans have watched every iteration of
19:52this team this year and the nine lives
19:53that it has has a lot of respect for
19:56the way that they have stayed the
19:57course said what they intended to do
19:59like you said in December and here we
20:02are with a chance to to be in the
20:03postseason with a few games to go
20:05another thing that to be and it's a
20:08big deal to those I think around the
20:10organization not just basketball staff
20:12but those in the club office the
20:14business side but there's a potential
20:15here the Clippers to continue their
20:18winning season streak and it's that's
20:20not what it's about but given where the
20:21Clippers were when you played for
20:24them it was place of destitution
20:25Dr. Rivers talked about making this a
20:27place of destination and that's where
20:29they're at and they're trying to
20:30protect that at the same time they're
20:32trying to be competitive in the
20:34Western Conference there's a lot of
20:35positive things that have happened here
20:37this season even though it's going to
20:39fall well short of what they were
20:40thinking the expectations were at the
20:42start of the season well said Brian
20:44but there's an iteration of this team
20:45now that has its future also some pieces
20:48for the future in place so i think we've
20:52covered it here for tonight but uh some
20:55exciting times here in the next couple
20:56weeks as the Clippers close in on some
20:58kind of playoff position why leonard takes
21:01his seat i'm hoping not to see him the
21:04rest of the night 25 minutes 28 points
21:07and the Clippers up large in the third
21:10there's still three minutes to play

24:09miller cruel intentions for the iron he'll go to the line for two
24:14if miles turner is in the game you're not going to challenge him but
24:17any guard on the floor jackson's not a guy you want to challenge either he is
24:21an incredible vertical athlete so jordan testing the waters there against jackson jr
24:31jordan miller at the line for two first of which in the air
24:38there's one thing brian i talked to jordan about with regards to his game you know how
24:42slinky he is getting into the lane they're creating opportunities and we look at the consecutive
24:48winning streaks i talked to jordan about escaping the lane and finding space quicker
24:52because sometimes he'll make a play and he'll linger a little bit and i said look there may be a
24:57second
24:57time in that possession jordan where you get the ball and go back downhill but if you linger in the
25:02lane
25:03you're keeping defenders around the basket for somebody to do something so he appreciated that
25:09i don't know if he'll ever do it but i at least had a nice conversation he knew exactly what
25:14i was referring to that's an interesting thing because he's very patient in the lane i i've seen
25:19what you said i don't know what he should do from that but he's very patient in the lane and
25:24seek space
25:25so really when you get off the ball in this game with pace and space once you get off the
25:29ball and the
25:29decision has been made that you cannot score and you give the ball to a teammate the next thing you
25:35can do
25:36is give him the room to operate so let's see if it's something he picks up on and it starts
25:41to do
25:43well he'll have opportunities to do that going forward this year next year again extended to a
25:49full contract but as i've mentioned a few times already this year jeff van gundy raved about he's
25:55he's an nba player 100 percent a rotational player jackson down the lane green with the leaping grab

28:55kind of on the dartboard for the clippers this year they needed a win early on against the clippers
29:00they got one and then the huge game that brooke lopez had was really a season turning performance
29:06for the clippers to get the win december 26 and now the blazers on the heels of the clippers but

29:14more win against them is going to help them secure their position in the playoffs even on that game so
29:20that was kind of the start of everything you know the clippers they beat the lakers luka
29:25donchich gets injured and doesn't come back to the second half they have a huge game from kawaii
29:29against houston on the 23rd i felt i still felt it wasn't camp like it wasn't something that could be
29:34sustainable you mentioned brooke lopez believe it was eight or nine threes in that game and i didn't feel
29:39like they did anything until they beat detroit here which was right around new year's and then you
29:45kind of started to feel like maybe they've got something uh going and as it turns out they very
29:50much did they were the best team in basketball for about two months after that kobe sanders big
29:57reason why the clippers were able to build the lead oh another nice move for sanders he's only seven of
30:02eight from the floor with 17 off the bench a great ball control out in transition manipulating some
30:07traffic for kobe and tylu still applauding this defensive effort by the bench unit the energy
30:13is certainly still there and again that's been an issue for the clippers when they've had these big

31:25friction right now about janice wanting to come back and play and showed he wants to give everything to
31:30milwaukee and them not wanting to do that because the season basically is over for the box
31:37really interesting offseason coming for an ownership group that has a very interesting structure as
31:43ramona shelburne for usd wrote a great article about what they're dealing with in terms of who is making
31:49the decisions there for the future of the milwaukee bucks this was earlier tonight he he is still
31:57interested in coming back but the ownership situation where it is truly bizarre and then
32:05like four weeks ago it was the biggest news about where janice was going to get traded
32:09and that news is just going to come up again and if four unprotected first round picks and a few
32:16swaps weren't able to get it done with the golden state employers what would it take if that hall is
32:22worth it you can reset your entire franchise so a lot more questions than answers for the milwaukee
32:28bucks this year with arguably their greatest player and i know kareem abuel jabbar and oscar robertson
32:34and brian winners and of course on the mic tonight for them uh mark has marcus johnson doing the broadcast
32:43janice is is their best player that's ever suited up and sometimes wonder if franchises don't
32:51get concerned about the fan base and what they would say but you can move off of a player like
32:57janice and
32:57get a haul like you mentioned you're resetting your arm you're resetting your organization
