00:00All right, John, a Lions tidbit.
00:02You have some notes on Cam Jordan and Joey Bosa.
00:05My question is, will the Lions get either or neither of these edge rushers?
00:09Well, in case you're wondering why we're only talking about Joey Bosa or Cam Jordan,
00:16well, AJ Epinesa signed last night with the powerhouse in the AFC, the Cleveland Browns.
00:23And so he is off the market.
00:26I would take either of these guys.
00:28I've talked about it.
00:29Whether it's Joey Bosa, Cam Jordan.
00:31Now, Cam Jordan came out yesterday.
00:34He was on a podcast, and he said he told his wife that there were only three cities that he
00:42would consider playing in.
00:43But he didn't reveal what those three cities were.
00:45He did give some parameters on what those cities need to have.
00:52Okay.
00:53And it was a chance to win a Super Bowl.
00:56All right.
00:57I think we could check that box.
00:59It is a defense that is designed or help on the other side, however you want to put it,
01:05where he could get 10 to 12 sacks.
01:08Hey, Detroit Aiden Hutchinson.
01:09Yeah, you're going to be singled up most of the time.
01:13All the double teams, triple teams are going to go to Aiden Hutchinson.
01:16And so, hey, all of a sudden, you're like, hey, all right, here we go.
01:19Two for two.
01:20Two for two.
01:21And the third one is he promised his wife that he would go to a city with warm weather.
01:33Call in Cam Jordan.
01:35We play inside.
01:36It's 70 degrees every single time you play.
01:40That doesn't probably matter to his wife because she will be living outside for the other six days of the
01:47week.
01:48At least it takes out the whole north so a rival doesn't get him.
01:51Right.
01:52Certainly not going to Chicago, right?
01:54Because they play outside as well as it's cold.
01:57And Green Bay.
01:57Is this kind of like when you're recruiting a kid and you want to make sure they visit on a
02:01good travel weekend?
02:02Can you get him to come here not when it's this cold?
02:05Right.
02:05So, if he's not signed by, I don't know, Memorial Day, hey, that's a great time to be in the
02:12state of Michigan.
02:13Hey, come on over.
02:14Dan Campbell, give Cam a call.
02:17Say, hey, come on up.
02:18You can stay with us.
02:19We'll take the boat out.
02:21We'll do all the things that are great in the state of Michigan.
02:26Hey, we'll even take you up north for a little bit.
02:29Now, Memorial Day might be still a little chilly.
02:31Dan has a boat.
02:33Oh, no, I'm sure he can find someone with a boat.
02:36I thought you were breaking news to me.
02:37I didn't realize.
02:38Oh, no, no, no.
02:38Maybe he should be spending time looking at film instead of being out on that boat all night.
02:42All right.
02:42Sorry.
02:43Yes.
02:43But, no, I'm talking about the great things that you can do at that time of year.
02:47What would his boat be named?
02:50The SS Grit?
02:54Text those in.
02:55That could be fun.
02:56Oh, it would be Say It.
02:59Yeah.
03:00The SS We're Good.
03:03The SS Edge.
03:07Okay.
03:07So, Cam Jordan probably not happening.
03:09Tell me good news with Joey Bosa.
03:10Joey Bosa hasn't signed anywhere.
03:12That's the good news.
03:13Right.
03:13And he's the only one left.
03:15And, hey, we would certainly take him.
03:18My question to you is, are we getting either or neither?
03:24Because it feels to me like we're getting neither.
03:27That's what it feels like.
03:28Until they are off the market.
03:32Now, I really believe Cam Jordan is just simply waiting for New Orleans to come back with a comparable offer
03:39that he would get anywhere else.
03:41I don't ultimately think he wants to leave.
03:44I got to that point in my career as well.
03:47And I was 10 years in.
03:48He's 10 years in.
03:49But more than 10 years in.
03:50Where I just wanted to finish my career in the same place.
03:54Sometimes, as we've all noticed, Taylor Decker, probably the same thing.
03:58It's not always going to happen.
04:02So, if a team just simply says, hey, we want to move on.
04:05We want fresh blood.
04:06We want to get younger.
04:07We want to do whatever it is.
04:08But it doesn't include you.
04:09You have to find that next destination.
04:13And I just don't believe it will be Detroit.
04:17But Joey Bosa, until he signs it.
04:19And I know that I mentioned it yesterday.
04:21His mommy came out and said, hey, we'd like to see our little boys play together.
04:26Maybe it is San Francisco.
04:27Maybe they get the dream.
04:29And it is what it is.
04:31He signed last year one year 12 million bucks.
04:35But his production at the end of the year petered off a little bit.
04:39It did.
04:39He graded out incredibly well against the pass.
04:43Not great against the run.
04:46I don't think he gets 12 a year.
04:48I think it's probably more 9 to 10.
04:51You're somewhat splitting hairs at that point.
04:53If the Lions have or can free up, I question their desire to do so because they haven't
04:59done so.
05:00Right.
05:00You mentioned teams getting younger.
05:02Kind of feels like that's their MO.
05:04Well, and if you look at SpowTrack, this is currently, now we know that there's not
05:12a full roster, the fourth youngest roster in the NFL.
05:16The youngest roster is the Miami Dolphins.
05:19Okay.
05:19Okay.
05:19They're just looking for young cheek talent because they have, I think I saw it was 175
05:24million of dead cap space.
05:27174.
05:28It's 58% of their cap is to players that aren't on the team anymore.
05:31Yes.
05:32And it got worse when they obviously traded Waddle.
05:34Yeah.
05:35Thankfully, though, the Broncos took all the rest of his money.
05:38So we're not on the hook for the 30 million next year.
05:40Right.
05:41So it's the Dolphins one and they're not in contention.
05:44The Packers two.
05:46And I mean, they were one of the younger rosters last year, got even younger when they traded
05:49away Rashad Gary.
05:52It's the Jets three.
05:54Obviously, you know, hey, they're trying to rebuild their roster.
06:00Lions are four.
06:01Wow.
06:02Chiefs at five.
06:03Titans at six.
06:04Browns at seven.
06:05So you look at that and you say, OK, well, it's a lot of bad football teams.
06:09It's a lot of bad football teams.
06:11I wouldn't classify the Chiefs.
06:13They missed out on the playoffs like the Lions did last year.
06:15I think they're probably both in a similar situation.
06:18I don't call in and say, oh, well, they have my homes.
06:20I understand that.
06:22But there are two teams that are trying to restructure on the run.
06:31Yeah, you're trying to get younger.
06:33Maybe that's code for healthier.
06:35Maybe that's code for feistier and grittier.
06:38But your number one thing, I think, is exactly what this team is trying to do.
06:42They're trying to get healthier, younger bodies so that whether it's the secondary.
06:47Now, you look at Kirby Joseph, Brian Branch, like they're both still relatively young and
06:51not healthy, but they are trying to get younger.
06:55And I think that's moving on from Anzalone, moving on from Amik Robertson, moving on from
07:02Davenport, moving on from a lot of the players that have either signed somewhere else or have
07:08not re-signed here.
07:09Al-Khadi Muhammad's another older player.
07:11I know he only was here for a year.
07:12Al-Khadi Muhammad, Taylor Decker.
07:14Yeah.
07:14Like you could see Graham Glasgow, the reasons why they're getting younger.
07:20Some of these are upgrades, but there are still issues.
07:24So Cade Mays is an upgrade over Graham Glasgow, younger and better.
07:28Yeah.
07:28A Dorch is a part returner who they added yesterday is younger and better than Khalif
07:32Raymond.
07:34Borum is younger and I would argue better than Dan Skipper.
07:38Right.
07:38So I get it on the margins.
07:42This is a team that finished in last place, though.
07:44It doesn't feel like a team that just needed to get a little better out of margins.
07:47It felt like a team that needed to get a little better in a lot of areas.
07:50Right.
07:51And a lot better in some areas.
07:53So do you say the G word?
07:56This is more evidence.
07:57It's Stoney's gap year.
08:00Backpacking in Europe instead of winning football games.
08:022-4-8-5-3-9-97-97.
08:05I think they'll win plenty of football games, but are they built to win in the postseason
08:08and win a Super Bowl?
08:09Hard for me to say that right now.
08:11TBD.
08:12All right.
08:12We'll have our picks for the Final Four and National Champ next.
08:15It's the Madness Day.
08:15It's 97-1.
