Decimo video aggiornamento sullo stato dei lavori del gioco di ruolo medievale realistico Kingdom Come: Deliverance. 04:27It's very flexible in terms of difficulty, so it can be very hard or very simple.
04:34And it was an interesting experience regarding our accuracy goal.
04:43Because to make an accurate lockpicking minigame is almost impossible.
04:47When we've researched this topic, we realized that back then the lockpicking was quite simple.
04:56Usually they made some kind of master key and then it could be used in most of the locks.
05:02So, we had several master keys and it was quite easy to unlock the locks.
05:07Locks were not that complicated.
05:10It was quite hard to come up with a lockpicking minigame where you would have to use master key.
05:17So, after a lot of thinking and some experiments, we decided that the minigame would be a little bit more
05:26abstract.
05:27So, it really needs a skill, not just an item to use.
05:33And currently I'm quite happy about it.
05:38Some people think that they didn't have locks back then, which is a very common idea.
05:46And it's totally wrong.
05:48The keys and locks were quite common even in villages.
05:52And it wasn't only for the rich people.
05:56There are findings of locks and keys by archeologists in old villages.
06:05So, it's something that you will see quite often in the game.
06:12Since we are talking about lockpicking, let me tell you something more about thieves, stealth and doors in general.
06:22In our game.
06:23So, we will have several types of doors.
06:25We will have several types of locks.
06:28And several different types how to lock or unlock the door.
06:34The cheapest and simplest and at the same time hardest doors are those that are locked from the inside using
06:44a door latch.
06:48You can't unlock those from the outside.
06:52You need to destroy them.
06:53Then we have doors with locks.
06:57Interesting thing is that you don't need to unlock them from the inside.
07:03Because you can kind of set the lock to off position just by hand.
07:09You don't need the keys because the mechanism of the lock is opened from the inside.
07:14And then we have different types of quality of doors.
07:20So, if you will have steel doors and castles and stuff, which will be basically unbreakable.
07:32Or you will have wooden doors that can be easily destroyed by a sword or an axe.
07:39The basic principle of stealth or lock picking or being a thief is to be silent, to get inside very
07:52silently and quickly, not to be spotted by anyone.
07:55And there are several obstacles that are in your way.
07:59The doors can produce sound.
08:03The floors in the houses can produce sounds.
08:06And there could be dogs or some other animals who will make noises when they will hear some alien.
08:21So, you will have to be silent, you will have to kill or poison or make friends with the dogs.
08:32And then you should not wake up the people who are living inside.
08:37Which is going to be very hard with the doors that are open from the inside.
08:42So we will have to break the doors and it's kind of hard to break the doors without waking up
08:46the guys who are sleeping inside the house.
08:48So I believe it's going to be interesting. Being a thief is going to be very interesting and a little
08:56bit different than anywhere else.
08:58The quest itself has several options how to play it again.
09:04And it's quite compatible with the previous quest which is still present in the game as well as the smaller
09:09tasks like archery or finding the flute I guess.
09:13There are also more options what to buy in the shop.
09:19And basically as it gets a little bit bigger you have much more options during the gameplay.
09:25You have more options how to make money and how to spend them.
09:27So I guess that you can spend quite a while in the alpha currently.
09:34The alchemy was tweaked a little bit.
09:38We've also added, it's an important new feature but it's not visible too much in the alpha version.
09:46The NPCs finally have perception so they should look at you or other NPCs when they are around.
09:54It's not used for stealth currently but it's a first step for proper implementation of stealth.
10:02We've also tweaked cameras during dialogue so most of the time the characters should look at you and the whole
10:11view should be much nicer.
10:18You will also notice probably that we've changed an UI for the dialogues and some parts of the menus.
10:25And also the map is fixed so you will finally see flags on the places where you should go where
10:35there are your objectives.
10:36So that was current alpha.
10:39And now let me tell you something about the upcoming one.
10:43We've decided that we will release it at E3 or sometimes around E3, most likely on E3.
10:50And since it's going to take a little bit more time than usual, it's almost three months, it's going to
10:59be big.
10:59It's going to be a large update which will include most of the game mechanics, like key features.
11:06It will have combat, it will have horse riding, it will have stealth, it will take place in a little
11:15bit bigger part of the world.
11:18So there's going to be another village.
11:21And of course there's going to be another big quest which will include combat.
11:26And most likely that we will have also some cutscenes and new voiceovers.
11:35So I guess that it's worth the wait.
11:39And that is going to be something really big.
11:43We plan to be present at E3 currently so it's going to be unveiled there, I hope.
11:51And then we will have several other alphas, one will be released somewhere in summer, one in December most likely.
11:59And then a beta will come.
12:03We decided that we will do it a similar way as Wasteland 2, so the beta will not be the
12:11whole game.
12:12It will be like first quarter of the game, from the start to like 20% of the gameplay.
12:21And it's going to be, or the plan is, that it's going to be released as a Steam Early Access
12:27as well.
12:28So every beta backer will receive it as usual and people will be able to buy it as a Steam
12:37Early Access as well.
12:39These are just plans currently, so some things may change, but this is something we would like to do.
12:48Now the not so good news, well maybe even actually bad, and it's the release date.
12:57We originally said that the game is going to be released by the end of the year or at the
13:02first months of 2016.
13:06At the current state we realized that we will need a little bit more time.
13:10So the current plan is to release the game a few months later.
13:15Most likely in the middle of the years, somewhere, sometimes around the summer.
13:23The reasons are obvious, it's a lot of work.
13:25We have the biggest problems we right now have are problems.
13:30Things that are not going as fast as we expected are mostly the quests.
13:37We plan to have about 100 quests.
13:40It's a lot more than we planned originally and it will take a little bit more time.
13:49Also, we were slow down by a lot of stuff that happened that we didn't planned over the last year.
13:54So all these things are the reason why the game is going to be released a couple months later.
13:59I'm really sorry for that, but I hope, a lot of people said it, that it's better to release a
14:06good game.
14:07That is as much complete and polished as possible.
14:11So, and we would like to do this.
14:15So that's the main thing why we decided to release it later.
14:20If I had some ash here, I would put it on my head, but I don't.

14:49Another new thing we started are the storyboards.
14:53As we progressed with the main story writing, Martin, who is behind the camera right now,

15:06We already have a couple of quite epic cutscenes and I have to kind of control myself not to have
15:15too many of them.
15:16So, we are able to make them.
15:20Even now, for introduction of the story and the main characters, there are some moments where we were kind of
15:29not sure if we would be able to even do it.
15:32Especially regarding the motion captureings of the horses.
15:36A lot of horses with a lot of weird and complicated moves and situations.
15:41But they look great and it goes much faster and smoother than I expected.
15:47We will finally have our own merchandise shop.
15:52So, we will be able to buy these in two colors, I guess.
15:57We are preparing some t-shirts with the motifs from the game or our artworks.
16:06And we also will have our own brand of beer.
16:10We haven't started a brewery ourselves.
16:13We have friends who are also planning to go to Kickstarter.
16:17And so, we only needed to do those nice labels.
16:22I did this one.
16:24I always wanted to make more own beer labels.
16:27So, this is the result.
16:29The artwork is from our lead artist.
16:31And we will use it maybe even on the t-shirt.
16:34So, we will have four different types of beer very soon.
16:39Good thing is that we will be present at Battle of Libushin, which is one of the biggest medieval battle
16:46reenactments in Europe.
16:48I would say about a thousand fighters.
16:51Maybe I will be present in a costume on a battlefield, not fighting.
16:58Because they don't want to let me and I don't want to.
17:00I don't want to get injured and I never did proper fencing.
17:06So, I would be easy target for the guys.
17:09But I may be there in the middle of the crowds.
17:15I plan to take my action cam.
17:19So, we may have some nice footage for the research of how it looks in the middle of the battle.
17:28And also, there is going to be a world championship in medieval fighting called Battle of the Nations in Prague
17:35in one or two months.
17:38We may be present there as well.
17:40And it's definitely going to be a very interesting event even if we are not there.
17:45Because it's really brutal sport that is played according to the medieval rules.
17:55So, if you ever wanted to go to medieval tournament, as it was, that's your biggest chance to see it,
18:01to go to one of the Battle of Nations tournaments.
18:05So, that would be it.
