00:00Hello, I'm Angela Scanlon and welcome to The Apprentice Unfinished Business, where bargain
00:05hunting goes coastal. Coming up, I'll be diving into all things discount buying with
00:10business powerhouse Linda Plant and Apprentice superfan Nikita Kanda. We say goodbye to fired
00:15candidate Harry and Lord Sugar lets us in on whether our candidates have finally redeemed
00:20themselves after that tragic Hong Kong performance. It is time for The Apprentice Unfinished Business.
00:31Welcome, ladies. Thank you. It is lovely to have you guys here. Now, let's go straight
00:38in. Task eight, discount buying the redemption story. How do we think they got on? I mean,
00:44they redeemed themselves, didn't they? They did way better than the first task. That wouldn't
00:48be hard now, to be fair. Look, Hong Kong was a tough task. It was because, first of all,
00:54Hong Kong is so big. There's Hong Kong, there's Kowloon, the New Territory. It's massive, much
00:59bigger. So it wasn't just that they made it look hard. It was hard. It was hard. And
01:03they had a language barrier. There is a language barrier there. I think they did well. Yes.
01:07Well, they weren't sweating this time. No. They were sweaty the first episode. The weather
01:11as well. The weather in Hong Kong as well. Yeah. It was humid, rainy. It was tough.
01:17But also, task one, trying to manage yourself, where you fit in a group, what people bring to
01:24the table the first time round? By task eight. They're much more experienced. They're much
01:28more together. They've got a lot more under their belts. How do you think you'd fare at
01:33this task, Nikita? Oh, well, I'm not going to lie. I didn't
01:36really know all the items that they had to go and get. So they did well for that. So
01:40hats off to them. Because there was some difficult named items.
01:43What did you think the bird's nest was? A bird's nest? Okay.
01:46I thought, oh, should I just go to my nan's garden and get it? Like, that's what I was
01:50thinking. I did not think it was a donut. I've never heard of a bird's nest donut before.
01:53No. Sounds delicious, though. Bargaining's in your blood, I feel. I think you come into
01:58your own in this. Yeah. Well, bargaining is. I'm a buyer and a seller, aren't I? So I think
02:04I'd have done pretty well at this. Because in this kind of a task, the first thing you've
02:10got to do is really know what the items are. Yeah. When you know what they are. And then
02:14you know how to go for the most expensive one first, because that's always the best
02:18way to plan it. There's a lot of planning. And yeah, price negotiation and knowing not
02:23to waste time on a cheaper item, to waste a load of time for 25p better to prioritise
02:30and go for the hard negotiation on the most expensive item.
02:34You started on a market stall. So I feel like you would have, I imagine, people coming up
02:38and trying their luck. Yeah, well. Would you have given us 25p up, Linda?
02:43I was only 13 was on the market, so I was much nicer in those days. Nikita, do you remember
02:51like a bargain that you've kind of, you feel proud of?
02:54Do you know what? So whenever I've gone to buy like my Indian outfits, like I'm going to
02:59like my Indian weddings and stuff, you go to Southall, right? You go to the Indian shop
03:03and there's all the pretty saris and the lenghas and everything. And there is where you can really
03:09bargain. That is where I got my practice in for bargaining. And you know what? When you
03:14can get a really healthy discount, you feel so proud of yourself walking away. So when
03:18I go to that wedding and I've got my pretty dress on, I'm like, you know what? I got this
03:22for 50 quid and they were trying to sell it to me for 200.
03:25Get it, girl.
03:26That is where I feel proud.
03:28I feel proud of you too, babes.
03:29Out of all the negotiations, there was one that was somewhat unconventional. Shall we remind
03:34ourselves of Ciaran and Lawrence mucking out the goats?
03:38Give me that. I'm getting in.
03:40You do it, mate.
03:41Go on.
03:44Yeah, I'm in.
03:45It stinks.
03:50They're not looking happy.
03:53That nearly went on me.
03:56You do your bit. I've done all of mine. I've done the worst part.
03:59There's only one of you doing any work here.
04:01Yeah, it's been like that all day, mate.
04:05They're like the chuckle brothers.
04:07Honestly, I love that bit.
04:09But what I love best as well
04:11was when, before they went into the
04:13negotiations, when they landed,
04:15they just both had a drink and they kind of
04:17went into relax.
04:18They went totally into relax mode.
04:20And actually then they just sort of sauntered
04:23the afternoon away, doing out the
04:25goats thing, drinking.
04:27So you like that approach?
04:29I don't like it, but it was very amusing
04:31and it was great TV.
04:33It was great.
04:34Ciaran, it wasn't just with the goats
04:36that he got a bit frisky.
04:37The Maddox White, he was very smooth
04:39in his garlic negotiation, wasn't he?
04:41He should have just taken a bite,
04:43do you know what I mean?
04:44But he was a very...
04:45Oh, yeah.
04:45He was smithing.
04:46He was almost...
04:49Big time.
04:49He was almost smarmy.
04:51It was, I've got this.
04:52I've really got this.
04:54Yeah.
04:54And then you get...
04:55Well, he didn't.
04:56Because the other team actually negotiated
04:57a better price.
04:58Well, you get that contrast with Priya.
05:00She's sweet, isn't he?
05:02And his idea, I mean, it could have gone wrong,
05:04but to pick the garlic.
05:05I know.
05:06That was great.
05:07The Moklan wear.
05:09Rothna.
05:12She hung around for 25p.
05:16Woman after my own heart.
05:18But maybe not really time well spent, Nikita.
05:22Yeah.
05:22She was trying to get every penny out of him.
05:25And I felt like she wanted to do it
05:26to make herself feel better too.
05:28Like, come on, just give me a bit more.
05:29Give me a bit more.
05:30He was giving nothing.
05:31Yeah, and because he was giving nothing,
05:32she was like, go on, do me a favour.
05:35Like, be my friend.
05:36And obviously she did waste a lot of time
05:38for the 25p.
05:39She should have just cut her losses and left it.
05:40But then I'm also like, I get you, girl.
05:43Like, you just want to...
05:44But arguably the most valuable thing out of that
05:45was the fact that they figured out
05:47what a cassette was.
05:48Because he looked like a man who knew what that was.
05:50And to be fair, that was quite difficult
05:52because I actually thought that cassette
05:53was an eight-track player.
05:54So did I.
05:55So that was clever.
05:57We all learnt a lot, didn't we,
05:58from watching this talk.
05:59It's an educational programme, what can we say?
06:02And she potentially could have missed out,
06:04although their risky business paid off in the end.
06:07They swerved, last minute,
06:09a little detour to get the rhubarb and custard sweets.
06:13Yeah, I mean, they were lucky with that, weren't they?
06:15Because they were running towards the hoverboat after that
06:18and the other team didn't end up getting it in the end.
06:20The other team that got to the boat early,
06:22they had the time to find the sweets.
06:24It wasn't a difficult item.
06:25A lot of the time they're just looking at how many items
06:28they've gotten rather than the value of it.
06:30Would you have risked it to get the sweets?
06:32Yeah, risk it for a chocolate biscuit, Angela.
06:35I've got a sweet tooth, so 100%,
06:36give me that rhubarb and custard now.
06:38I would have risked it as well.
06:39You would have.
06:39They had time, they had time.
06:40They had the time and it wasn't a difficult find.
06:44So do you think the other team just sat back
06:46on the hovercraft, you know?
06:48Well, they were...
06:49Yeah.
06:50Go on, Linda.
06:51Don't mince your words, they were what?
06:52Linda's holding back.
06:54But they were already in the winning mood.
06:56They were relaxing.
06:57We've got this in the bag.
06:59Cocky, some would say.
07:01Yeah, exactly.
07:02You know, and hoping against hope
07:04that they arrived late and missed the hovercraft.
07:06They nearly got their wish, to be fair.
07:08Yes, they did.
07:09Both PMs, very, very different approaches.
07:12What do you make of the management styles?
07:14Let's start, first of all, with Levi.
07:16So Levi was really relaxed.
07:18He was kind of like, you can all do what you want.
07:20I'll leave it to you, whatever you decide.
07:22You could say Levi's management style strategy
07:25was non-existent.
07:26OK.
07:27Actually.
07:28OK.
07:28I mean, look, Levi's a good northern boy
07:30and I'm a northern girl, so, you know,
07:32I've got to support him.
07:33You've got to back him.
07:34Yeah.
07:34No, it was non-existent, wasn't it?
07:37So we're not backing him at all, actually.
07:39I mean, I've got to be honest.
07:41Look, he had no strategy.
07:43He had no time management.
07:45He didn't know how to split the teams
07:47and he didn't know what any of the items were.
07:50But he was on that phone like a dinger all morning.
07:52Look, I didn't say he wasn't a trier.
07:54I didn't say he wasn't a trier.
07:57Kieran had unfinished business from Hong Kong,
08:00so he was like straight in, I want this task,
08:02I want to be PM.
08:03I was somewhat surprised that they handed it to him.
08:07Well, he did vote for himself as well, didn't he?
08:10Always.
08:11You've got to back yourself.
08:12Yeah.
08:13I was surprised too, just because he's been PM
08:15and it obviously was a disaster for everyone
08:17on that first episode.
08:19But maybe they just thought,
08:20give him a chance to redeem himself.
08:22He's learned.
08:23He, unlike Levi, had a very clear strategy.
08:27The 3-1-2 approach.
08:31Talk us through the 3-1-2 approach, Linda,
08:33and your experience of it.
08:34Well, I don't quite understand the 3-1-2 approach.
08:37Thank God, I thought it was just me.
08:38No, I didn't.
08:39And actually, the truth is,
08:40it was sort of sticking by,
08:41but he went by the wayside anyway.
08:43He went by the wayside.
08:45I think, you know, when you're negotiating,
08:48you should start low because you can always go up.
08:52And I think it's quite good to be a bit charming
08:56and a bit nice.
08:57Pasha, she went in telling the lady,
08:59well, we haven't got much time.
09:01And could you?
09:03And would you?
09:04And we haven't got much time.
09:05I mean, oh my God.
09:06If there was ever, don't do, that was it.
09:10Don't do that.
09:11Yeah, okay.
09:11So it's building the rapport, isn't it?
09:13And it's a bit of charm and it's a bit of cheek.
09:15And rapport is everything.
09:17You get far more being nice and being charming
09:21and having a nice manner
09:23than you do sort of being a bit more aggressive
09:26in a bit more way.
09:27You get more bees with honey than with vinegar.
09:29Do you know something?
09:30I always say that.
09:31You get a lot more being nice
09:32than you do not being nice.
09:34Which is where I think possibly Kieran
09:36slightly fell down in that kind of dogmatic 3-1-2 approach
09:41because I think sometimes it depends on the human
09:43that's in front of you
09:44and they quite like the game and the dance of a negotiation
09:47whereas it was a little too...
09:49I don't think there can ever be a dogmatic approach
09:52in negotiation.
09:54It's never, these are the rules, stick by it,
09:56never deviate.
09:56You can't, that's not negotiation.
09:59Ultimately, with Levi winning on a last-minute sweet grab,
10:02do we think that this task really is less
10:05about bargaining skills
10:06and more about actual time management, Nikita?
10:08I think they need a bit of both
10:10but I think it was more time management.
10:12They actually, the other team had the time
10:14to go and get the sweets
10:15but they wanted to just be back before them
10:17and wanted to be back early.
10:18I think if they had enough time, go and get them.
10:21The other team still managed to do it.
10:22Levi, they grabbed them and went, didn't they?
10:25Now, if Kieran's team had got that extra item,
10:28they still would have lost because of the soup.
10:31Well, the sup was the disaster.
10:33Well, Linda, don't get a start.
10:35I don't want to, you know.
10:36Don't get a start.
10:37I don't want to soften it.
10:39No.
10:40It was a disaster.
10:43It was, wasn't it?
10:44My book, it was a double disaster
10:46because he had five hours left.
10:50So, you know, he had plenty of time.
10:52You're on the Isle of Wight
10:54so there's going to be a lot of surfboards.
10:56There's going to be a lot there.
10:58So with five hours to go
11:00and paying such a high price,
11:01that was unforgivable.
11:03Before we meet our fired candidate, Harry,
11:06let's listen to what Lord Sugar has to say
11:08about the candidates redeeming themselves
11:10from the disaster of Hong Kong.
11:13Okay.
11:13Angela, I'll say this.
11:15It wasn't one for the history books,
11:17but at least this time
11:19they actually came back with some items.
11:22Compared to Hong Kong shambles,
11:24this was a step in the right direction.
11:27But the lesson remains the same.
11:30If a deal's bad, walk away.
11:33Harry didn't do that with SUP.
11:35It hit the bottom line
11:37and that's why, sadly, he's out.
11:42Linda, is it that?
11:44Is knowing when to walk away,
11:46is that a hard lesson
11:47that you have to learn through experience?
11:49You have to know what your bottom line is.
11:52What is your parameter?
11:53And if it doesn't meet that criteria,
11:55you have to walk away.
11:57And sometimes walking away
11:59shows your opponent that actually,
12:01right, I've drawn a line
12:02and sometimes it gives them the thing,
12:04well, let me come back.
12:05You have to know when to walk away.
12:08Otherwise, you can't be any good in business.
12:10Have you had any instances
12:11where you've had to walk away?
12:13I have.
12:14I have.
12:15I've had to walk away from two husbands.
12:18Don't film that.
12:21Was that easy or hard?
12:22Don't film it.
12:23I'll film it.
12:24I don't care.
12:25It might make you laugh.
12:28OK, it is time now
12:29to welcome our latest candidate
12:31to become extinct.
12:32Let's remind ourselves
12:33of Harry's last moments
12:35in the boardroom.
12:37It seems regretful when I say that
12:41my gut feeling is telling me,
12:43Harry, you're fired.
12:45Thank you very much for the opportunity,
12:47Lord Sugar.
12:47Tim, Baron Spready,
12:48it's been absolutely amazing.
12:50OK.
12:50Take care.
12:51Good luck to you.
12:52Thank you so much.
12:55What's up, Harry?
12:56Yes, there.
12:57Thanks for having me.
12:58I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
13:00Nice socks.
13:01Oh, thank you so much.
13:02Yeah, no, I didn't actually mean
13:03to go in all pink today,
13:04but I have.
13:05We are appreciative of it.
13:07How did it compare
13:08watching that back
13:08versus Hong Kong?
13:10Um, it was pretty painful.
13:12I'm not going to lie.
13:13Like, this one,
13:14it was a much higher stakes,
13:16less people,
13:17and everyone just knew
13:18more how to do stuff.
13:20Yeah.
13:20So it was kind of scary.
13:21But you seem to know
13:22all of the items,
13:23which was a lot more
13:24than could be said
13:25for some of the others.
13:26Yeah, I knew what
13:27the rhubarb and custards were.
13:28Yeah.
13:28Because I, at school,
13:29used to be able to watch films
13:31and have sweets,
13:31so they always have them.
13:32Delicious.
13:34Love boozing,
13:34so one of them sounded
13:36kind of alcoholic,
13:38because 75 centimetres.
13:39Yeah.
13:39And then I also,
13:40what was the other one?
13:41Iguana Don.
13:42I've obviously heard of
13:43iguanas before
13:44and dinosaurs.
13:45Do you think, though,
13:46knowing that many,
13:47because it was like,
13:47bang, bang, bang,
13:48we know what we're out to get,
13:50it gave your team confidence
13:52in the first instance?
13:54Yeah, I think so.
13:54Like, I think, obviously,
13:55if you know what it is,
13:57and sometimes you're wrong,
13:58which obviously we were,
13:59but it really helps
14:00because it saves you
14:01so much time
14:01because at the beginning,
14:02you're kind of,
14:03you don't know where to go,
14:04so you have to drive somewhere.
14:06So you're just driving
14:07around aimlessly.
14:08You could be going
14:08completely the other side
14:09of the island
14:10to where the items
14:11you need to get.
14:11Yeah.
14:12And it just means that,
14:13you know, like, right,
14:14let's say we thought
14:15the sup was a fish.
14:16You ring up a fishmonger,
14:16you're like,
14:17oh, we'd like to get a sup,
14:18please, make sure it's got fins.
14:19And it obviously doesn't have fins
14:21and there's no sup,
14:22but it does help,
14:23I think, 100%.
14:24Also, you've got
14:25a pretty good idea,
14:26if you know what the items are,
14:27you've got a pretty good idea
14:29the sweets are going to be
14:30a lot cheaper
14:30than a stand-up paddleboard.
14:32And that also helps.
14:34Absolutely.
14:34And I think to know
14:35which to prioritise
14:36and which one's going
14:37to cost you more.
14:38Let's get into
14:39some of the items,
14:40having watched the task back.
14:41The rhubarb and custard sweets.
14:43OK, you backed Connor
14:44when he said,
14:45do you know what,
14:47there's not enough time,
14:48we're not going to chance it.
14:49Are you happy with that call?
14:52I'm now devastated about it,
14:53but I think it was the right call.
14:54I do.
14:55I think, like,
14:56looking back,
14:57obviously we had time
14:58and we could have got them.
14:59So it wasn't technically
15:00the right call.
15:01But at the time,
15:02especially after Hong Kong,
15:03where, like,
15:04the girls were so late
15:05and that cost them so much.
15:07You don't want to be
15:07waving the hovercraft goodbye.
15:09Exactly.
15:10And I think the difference
15:10between Hong Kong
15:11and that one was
15:12the hovercraft leaves
15:14and it doesn't come back.
15:15But in Hong Kong,
15:16the Buddha's always
15:17going to be there.
15:19Night falls,
15:20you can still rise.
15:21He will be there
15:22in the morning.
15:23I do guess,
15:24coming from a man
15:25who had five more hours
15:27to negotiate on a sup,
15:29you were time.
15:30You really valued time,
15:32didn't you?
15:33You know,
15:33looking back on it,
15:34it looks really stupid.
15:35I agree.
15:36But time is so,
15:38like,
15:38you're so pushed for time.
15:39And time is always...
15:41You weren't.
15:41You weren't.
15:42To be fair,
15:42you were not pushed for time.
15:44Well, it's more like
15:45when you don't have
15:46enough items
15:47at that particular time.
15:48It's not like,
15:49OK, there's five hours left,
15:50we've got loads of time
15:51because that is a long time.
15:52What we also had,
15:53the issue,
15:54was we called so many people
15:56and none of them had them.
15:58So we were like,
15:59oh, when we find it,
16:00we panicked.
16:01Panicked a little bit.
16:01We panicked.
16:02I get that.
16:02And that was like,
16:03oh, my God,
16:03they've got it,
16:03we need to get it.
16:04And they were like,
16:05we've only got one left,
16:05which made us panic even more
16:06because it was like,
16:07oh, my God,
16:07what did the other team
16:08go get that one?
16:09Classic.
16:09We've only got one left.
16:10Did you think it was not?
16:12They had a whole stock room
16:12with those puppies.
16:14That is so classic.
16:16They're selling fast,
16:17you better get here quickly.
16:19The dust gathering.
16:20They probably had like a factory
16:21down the back
16:21and making them,
16:22but yeah.
16:22Nikita,
16:23what would you have done
16:23in the instance of this up?
16:25I didn't know what it was first,
16:27so yeah,
16:27it probably would have taken me ages
16:29as well to figure out
16:29what it was.
16:30But I would have walked away.
16:32I feel like that's
16:32a really good trick.
16:33I mean,
16:33I've always been taught it
16:34from like young,
16:35we've been on holiday,
16:36family holidays
16:36and like,
16:37you know,
16:37you're trying to buy
16:37some souvenirs
16:38for your friends and family
16:39and they're trying to
16:40up the price
16:40because they know
16:41you're not from there
16:42and then you walk away
16:42and you come back.
16:43So I would have walked away,
16:45I think.
16:46To be honest,
16:46I didn't even know
16:47walking away was an option.
16:50But like,
16:51here he is.
16:53And what did you make
16:54of Kieran and Lawrence's
16:55lads day out?
16:57To be honest,
16:57I absolutely loved
16:58watching it back.
16:59I think it was hilarious.
17:00At the time,
17:01I didn't realise
17:01they got such good deals
17:03because the deals
17:04were quite good.
17:04I think personality
17:06and business
17:06goes a long way
17:07and like,
17:08they did really get on
17:09with all the people
17:10they were selling to.
17:11Like,
17:11they were cracking up,
17:12all that sort of stuff.
17:13Fine,
17:13it wasn't Kieran's idea
17:15to,
17:15he wanted to do things
17:16quick and fast
17:17and get out
17:17but they got a good deal
17:19and I did.
17:19And the charm
17:20gets you a long way.
17:21Absolutely,
17:22yeah.
17:22Well,
17:22you're very charming,
17:24Harry.
17:24And that's why
17:25I was like,
17:25quite disappointed
17:26like watching the show back
17:26because I was like,
17:27I don't think,
17:28like,
17:28I come across really boring.
17:30You come across
17:30very serious.
17:31Yeah,
17:31very serious.
17:32I'm actually meeting you now,
17:33you're not that serious.
17:34I literally,
17:34I'm like the least serious person ever
17:35but I literally look like
17:36the most boring.
17:37It does not come across like that.
17:40Lighten up on the show
17:41but you're,
17:42but you're,
17:42you're fired now.
17:44It's too late.
17:44The advice,
17:45the advice has come too late.
17:47It's too late.
17:48It felt like we didn't see
17:49your impact
17:50very much
17:51in some of the shows.
17:52Yeah.
17:53And I know
17:54Lord Sugar said
17:55you're a very nice
17:56young man.
17:57Yeah.
17:58Which,
17:58you know,
17:59is a lovely thing to say
18:00but does it feel like
18:01that's not conducive
18:03to good business?
18:05niceness is good
18:06but it doesn't get to
18:08win the apprentice,
18:09does it?
18:09It's nice to be nice.
18:11I know because
18:12how nice I am
18:13when I'm interviewing people
18:14but the thing is,
18:16the thing is,
18:17it doesn't really,
18:19it's part of,
18:20it can be part of
18:21a business negotiation,
18:22it can be part of
18:23a tactic.
18:25Yeah.
18:25but in this case,
18:26niceness didn't
18:27get you anywhere
18:28and we didn't even
18:29see it from you.
18:30You're so much more
18:31relaxed and fun now.
18:32I do think that
18:33a lot of stuff
18:34I did wasn't seen
18:35because it wasn't
18:37particularly dramatic.
18:38I was just
18:39getting it done
18:40and like,
18:41I do,
18:42I,
18:42watching it back
18:43as a viewer,
18:44looked like I did
18:45actually nothing
18:45for the first four episodes.
18:47the statistics,
18:48Harry,
18:48speak for themselves
18:49because you won
18:50five out of the eight tasks.
18:52Yeah.
18:52The only person
18:53still standing
18:54with that amount
18:54is Levi.
18:55What do you make of that?
18:56I think it's,
18:58it's tough
18:58because obviously,
18:59I think when you win more,
19:01which is not,
19:01I'm not saying it
19:02because of me,
19:02but when you win more,
19:03you have less one-on-one
19:04time with Lord Sugar,
19:06you're less under the cosh
19:07when it comes to like,
19:08if you're getting brought back
19:09every week,
19:10you know exactly
19:11how to...
19:12You've got more confidence.
19:13Yeah, you've got more confidence.
19:14Or you're less frightened
19:15in that moment.
19:15Less frightened
19:16and you've also put your case
19:17across to Lord Sugar
19:18so many times
19:18and you're like,
19:19you know what,
19:19I've survived that
19:20so I can survive it again.
19:21When I went in there,
19:22I was like,
19:23oh my God,
19:24I don't know what to say
19:25and I actually,
19:25I didn't really
19:26back myself up that much.
19:28Like, I wish I said,
19:30like, I won last week at PM.
19:32Admittedly,
19:32a lot of people say
19:33that was because of Krishna
19:34but it was like,
19:35I strongly believe
19:36like a good leader
19:37in business
19:37doesn't necessarily
19:38have to do it all themselves.
19:39They put people
19:39in the right place.
19:40They make people feel
19:41like they can
19:42be positive and impact.
19:44You've got to have a team
19:45and you've got to empower
19:46your team.
19:47Yeah, exactly.
19:48So do you think
19:49it was tough
19:50being brought back
19:51for the first time?
19:52I was terrified.
19:53Okay, whereas the other guys
19:55had been there before
19:56and were ready to go
19:57to battle for themselves.
19:58I think so
19:58and like,
19:59they'd proved themselves
20:00as characters on the show
20:01and like,
20:02I really hadn't.
20:03Like, I'd hardly been
20:05in the boardroom.
20:05I hadn't really had to speak
20:07in the boardroom
20:08and like,
20:09I feel like I contributed
20:09quite a lot
20:10but like,
20:11it kind of was lost
20:13in the noise
20:13and which is sad
20:15for me because
20:15I, you know,
20:17I don't have much game
20:17for me apart
20:18from my character
20:18so I was like,
20:19it's not going to come across.
20:20That's a lot
20:21of the point
20:21of the show.
20:22I know.
20:23You start off
20:23with a large number
20:24of candidates
20:25and you come down
20:26to the final five
20:27and it's gruelling
20:28actually.
20:29It's hard.
20:29To go through,
20:30it's gruelling
20:31and so when you get
20:32to the final five,
20:33even though sometimes
20:34I'm tough on them
20:35when I'm interviewing them,
20:36but it's really tough
20:37to go through
20:38all those weeks
20:39and get there.
20:40So don't beat yourself
20:42up too much,
20:43you know,
20:43looking back
20:44because it's
20:45a tough process.
20:46Lord Sugar admitted
20:47that it was not
20:48an easy decision.
20:49Did that soften
20:50the blow at all?
20:51Yeah, I think.
20:52No.
20:53Hard no.
20:55I was about to still laugh
20:55and then,
20:56yeah,
20:56easy or not.
20:57I mean,
20:57no, it does.
20:58It's really nice
20:59to like,
21:00to hear him say that.
21:01I think like,
21:02I was up against
21:02Kieran and Connor,
21:04arguably like the two
21:05biggest characters
21:05on this show
21:07at the moment
21:08and I knew that
21:09I was screwed
21:10as soon as I was
21:11in that bottom three.
21:12I was like,
21:12you know,
21:12this is the end.
21:14Obviously,
21:14I'd only just seen
21:15that he said that
21:16so it's very sweet
21:17and like,
21:17it's nice to
21:19at least have
21:19something said about you.
21:20It's better than saying,
21:21what a horrible guy,
21:21get him out.
21:22But like,
21:22yeah.
21:23You had a nice firing,
21:24I think.
21:24Yeah, it was.
21:25And it was a dilemma
21:27for Lord Sugar.
21:27He did sort of say
21:29it was tough,
21:29it wasn't easy.
21:30Yeah,
21:31which is nice,
21:32obviously, yeah.
21:32Is it awkward
21:33when you argue
21:33in the boardroom?
21:35It's like,
21:36it is.
21:36And also,
21:38you don't like
21:39look each other in the eye
21:39so you're like,
21:40I hate him.
21:42It's like being at school
21:43and you're like a naughty one.
21:44It's like,
21:44he did it.
21:46So it's like,
21:47when he puts out
21:48his finger to fire you,
21:49I basically went like,
21:50cross-eyed.
21:50And like,
21:51you know,
21:51when you just see like,
21:52three or something.
21:52Did you think it wasn't you?
21:54Oh no.
21:56Which one?
21:57And you're like,
21:57dodging out the way,
21:58you're like,
21:58it's not me.
21:59But anyway,
21:59yeah.
21:59It was you, babe.
22:00It was me.
22:01I'm so sorry.
22:02What were your highlights, Harry?
22:05I think like,
22:06I felt so lucky to be on it
22:08because I'd applied
22:08two years before.
22:09So this was the third time
22:10I'd applied.
22:11Third time lucky.
22:11And I'd always got quite far
22:12but not far enough.
22:13And this was like,
22:14the time that I was on it
22:15and I was like,
22:15this is insane.
22:16And I was like,
22:17you know what,
22:17this is the coolest experience ever.
22:19Going to Hong Kong,
22:21like going to Egypt,
22:22meeting other candidates
22:23because they're like,
22:24going to be friends for life.
22:24So I think,
22:26you know,
22:26not that people say
22:26they've been fired
22:27by Lord Sugar,
22:28which is not something
22:29probably to brag about
22:30but no,
22:30it was amazing.
22:31So lots of highlights for you.
22:32Lord Sugar definitely
22:33had a highlight of his own.
22:35Shall we remind ourselves?
22:37I don't know you had Harry
22:38dressed as a chicken.
22:39I was dressed as a chicken.
22:40You were dressed as a chicken?
22:41I was Lord Sugar.
22:41It was a difficult time.
22:45I heard it was
22:45a very tight chicken.
22:47It was very tight.
22:49Yeah.
22:49Yeah.
22:49You think your nuggets
22:50were showing me.
22:54Oh, that cracked me up.
22:56That was a very good line.
22:56It was very tight.
22:57Yeah, well done you for that.
22:58It was a good line.
22:59You became the go-to
23:01dress-up guy,
23:02the chicken and the flowers
23:03and the everything.
23:04Was that voluntary
23:05or were you shoved?
23:07I can't quite remember.
23:08I think the chicken,
23:09sadly, was voluntary.
23:10Okay.
23:11By having seen how tight it was,
23:12I probably wouldn't have volunteered.
23:13Yeah.
23:13I do think,
23:14I mean,
23:14I think eventually
23:15I was just the costume guy.
23:16So you've got to wear a costume
23:17and just sort of
23:17hand it straight to me.
23:18Yeah.
23:19And that was sort of it.
23:20Well, at least you had
23:20an identity.
23:21Yeah, at least I could do
23:22something in the time.
23:24It was just nice to be involved.
23:25I don't take myself too seriously,
23:27although throughout the whole season
23:28I look like I do.
23:29Yes.
23:30I, in my life,
23:31don't think I take myself
23:31too seriously.
23:32And something like that,
23:33I think it,
23:34obviously someone's got to do it.
23:35It helps the team
23:36and it's just fun.
23:37Like it gives you
23:38a bit more of a,
23:39you know,
23:39people are going to,
23:40if you're selling something
23:40in a market
23:41and you're just being boring
23:42and being like,
23:42oh, hi, come over here.
23:43Or if you dress as a chicken
23:44and you start clucking,
23:45there's a big difference.
23:49That actually it is a fun,
23:50it's a fun show.
23:51It's got a serious side to it.
23:53But it's amusing
23:54and it's fun
23:56and it's great TV.
23:57And that's why,
23:58that's why we've done 20 years.
24:00Okay, we're moving on
24:01to Board Room Bangers
24:03where our guests each
24:05choose a little song
24:06that sums up the week's task.
24:09Linda, what have you gone for?
24:10Well, Harry,
24:12watching you negotiate,
24:13there was only one song
24:15that came to mind
24:16and that was...
24:21Could have done a demo.
24:23Yeah, I know.
24:23It would have been good.
24:25I thought it was going to be worse,
24:26to be honest.
24:28Dusty, not a pwiff of dust on that.
24:32Beautiful, Nikita.
24:34Well, my choice goes out to Kieran
24:36for being such a charmer,
24:38you know,
24:38such a good flirt as well.
24:41We can all learn something from him
24:42and I just liked his smooth ways
24:44so I went for this.
24:45He's a smooth operator.
24:51Smooth operator.
24:53Nice.
24:54Good choices there.
24:55How do you feel about those?
24:56I was very happy.
24:57I thought it was going to come off
24:58a lot worse than me.
24:59No, you're safe.
25:00Kieran was unbelievable.
25:02Watching that back,
25:02how can he...
25:03Where's the confidence from?
25:04Honestly.
25:05Does that translate to
25:06back in the house?
25:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
25:08OK.
25:09I mean, I love Kieran.
25:10He's one of the most confident
25:11people I've ever met in my life.
25:12Yeah, he says he's not a real estate...
25:14He said he's not a real estate...
25:15He's so a real estate agent.
25:17Oh, my God, he is so.
25:20Moving on to our next task,
25:21task nine.
25:23We're jumping from one fan favourite
25:24to another
25:24because it is time for TV selling.
25:27And as always,
25:28I've got an exclusive clip for us.
25:31Imagine a gym and your house.
25:33Dan looks very static.
25:34Let's get some movement.
25:36I'm going to get you
25:36to pop down on your knees
25:37and do a plank for me.
25:39We also have a timer on here,
25:41so I'm going to set a 30-second timer
25:42for you to hold your plank
25:44for 30 minutes.
25:4530 minutes?
25:47Strong core.
25:48Good work, Dan.
25:49Now, I'm going to join you as well
25:51for a bit of Pilates
25:52on the same side.
25:53We've got zero coolers, lads.
25:55I need Dan to really get into it.
26:00To really get into it.
26:03Like, that looked...
26:04They were sweating buckets
26:05and they're two relatively fit-looking lads.
26:08I don't know if you're selling that
26:09to me sitting at home
26:10and me knickers watching telly.
26:11Well, zero callers might say it all.
26:13That's my favourite task.
26:14Yeah.
26:15I love watching it.
26:16I must say, it's mine.
26:17I was glad to have missed it.
26:18That was the one I wanted to do
26:19and I was like...
26:20You could have worn another suit
26:21or something.
26:22I wonder what costume
26:23you'd have worn in that.
26:24Yeah, I know.
26:25Full, like, lycra.
26:27Yeah.
26:29Nikita, you do live radio.
26:30Would you love this TV selling task?
26:32Oh, I'd love it.
26:32I think there's nothing better
26:33than being live.
26:34I think you get that buzz,
26:36but you've really got to think
26:37on your feet.
26:37You've got no time to mess around.
26:39If things go wrong, it goes wrong.
26:40You just laugh it off and carry on.
26:42So I think they need to be good
26:43at just getting on with it
26:44and just thinking quick on their feet.
26:46Yeah.
26:47Linda, this is always a really fun task.
26:51Exposing a little bit.
26:52What is this really testing?
26:54Well, I think that you've got
26:56to look at the item.
26:57It's got to have commercial appeal.
26:59That is the key, you know.
27:02So really and truthfully,
27:03pile it high, sell it cheap,
27:05lifestyle kind of things
27:06that you can sell loads of
27:07because they're 50 quid
27:08and not 350 quid.
27:10Yeah.
27:10Right.
27:10So I think it's important.
27:12But the most important thing
27:13before you've started
27:14your selling tactic,
27:15have I picked an item
27:17that the people are going to want
27:18and it's going to be easy
27:19for me to sell?
27:20Yeah.
27:21You know.
27:21And to demonstrate
27:22and to build up excitement.
27:25Once you've got that,
27:25demonstrate it,
27:26show them why they need it,
27:27why they must get it.
27:28Yeah.
27:29And of course, it's much easier
27:30if they've only got to lay out
27:3150 quid, 60 quid.
27:32If you're starting with
27:34a high ticket price,
27:36it's a harder sell.
27:37Yeah.
27:37It's exciting, isn't it?
27:39Yes.
27:39We're galloping towards the end.
