00:00Hello I'm Angela Scanlon and welcome to The Apprentice Unfinished Business where
00:04bargain hunting goes coastal. Coming up I'll be diving into all things discount
00:09buying with business powerhouse Linda Plant and Apprentice superfan Nikita
00:13Kanda. We say goodbye to fired candidate Harry and Lord Sugar lets us in on
00:18whether our candidates have finally redeemed themselves after that tragic
00:22Hong Kong performance. It is time for The Apprentice Unfinished Business.
00:31Welcome ladies. It is lovely to have you guys here now let's go straight in task
00:39eight discount buying the redemption story how do we think they got on I mean
00:44they redeemed themselves didn't they they did way better than the first half that
00:48wouldn't be hard to be fair. Look Hong Kong was a tough task it was because first of
00:53all the Hong Kong so big there's Hong Kong there's Kowloon the new territory it's
00:58massive much bigger so it wasn't just that they made it look hard it was hard
01:02it was hard and they had a language barrier there is a language barrier there I
01:06think they did well yes well they weren't sweating this time no it was sweaty the
01:10first episode as well the weather in Hong Kong as well the yeah humid rainy it was it
01:16was tough but also task one trying to manage yourself where you fit in a group
01:22what people bring to the table the first time around. By task eight they've got
01:27they're much more experienced and much more together they they've got a lot more under
01:31their belts. How do you think you'd fare at this task Nikita? Oh well I'm not gonna lie I
01:36didn't really know all the items that they had to go and get so they did well for that
01:40so hats off to them because there was some difficult named items. What did you think the
01:44bird's nest was? A bird's nest? Okay. I thought oh should I just go to my nan's garden and get
01:49it
01:49like that's what I was thinking I did not think it was a donut I've never heard of a bird's
01:53nest
01:53donut. No sounds delicious though. Bargaining's in your blood I feel I think you come into your own
01:59in this. Yeah well bargaining is I'm a buyer and a seller aren't I so I think I'd have done
02:05pretty
02:05well at this because in this kind of a task the first thing you've got to do is really know
02:11what
02:11the items are yeah when you know what they are and then you know how to go for the most
02:15expensive one
02:16first because that's always the best way to to plan it there's a lot of planning and yeah price
02:22negotiation and knowing not to waste time to on a cheaper item to waste a load of time for 25p
02:28better to prioritize and go for the hard negotiation on the most expensive item. You
02:34started on a market stall so I feel like you would have I imagine people coming up and trying
02:39their luck. Yeah well. Would you have given us 25p up Linda? I was only 13 was on the market
02:46so I was
02:46much nicer in those days. Nikita do you remember like a bargain that you've kind of you feel proud
02:54of? Do you know what so whenever I've gone to buy like my Indian outfits like I'm going to like
02:59my
02:59Indian weddings and stuff you go to Southall right you go to the Indian shop and there's all the pretty
03:04saris and the lenghas and everything and there is where you can really bargain that is where I got my
03:11practice in for bargaining and you know what when you can get a really healthy discount you feel so
03:16proud of yourself walking away so when I go to that wedding and I've got my pretty dress on I'm
03:21like
03:21you know what I got this for 50 quid and they were trying to sell it to me for 200.
03:25Get it girl.
03:26That is where I feel proud. I feel proud of you too babes. Thank you. Out of all the negotiations
03:31there
03:31was one that was somewhat unconventional shall we remind ourselves of Kieran and Lawrence mucking out
03:37the goats. Give me that I'm getting in. You do it mate. Go on. Oh yeah I'm in. It stinks.
03:50They're not looking happy. That nearly went on me. You do your bit. I've done all of mine. I've done
03:58the worst part. There's only one of you doing any work here. Yeah it's been like that all day mate.
04:05They're like the chuckle brothers. Honestly. I love that bit but what I loved best as well
04:11was when before they went into the negotiations when they landed they just both had a drink and
04:16they kind of went into relax. They went totally into relax mode. Yeah. And actually then they just
04:22sort of sauntered the afternoon away doing out the goats thing drinking. Yeah. So you you like that
04:28approach. I don't like it but it was very amusing and it was great TV. It was great. Kieran it
04:35wasn't
04:35just with the goats that he got a bit frisky. The Maddox White he was very smooth in his garlic
04:40negotiation wasn't he? He should have just taken a bite do you know what I mean? But he was a
04:44very
04:45Oh yeah. He was smiling. He was almost. Big time. He was almost mommy. It was I've got this. I've
04:52really got this. Yeah. Yeah. And then you go he didn't because the other team actually negotiated
04:57a better price. And well you get that contrast with Priya. She's sweet isn't he? And his idea I
05:03mean it could have gone wrong but to pick the garlic. I know. That was great. The Moklan wear. Rothna
05:11She hung around for 25p. Woman after my own heart. But maybe not really time well spent Nikita.
05:22Yeah. She was trying to get every penny out of him. And I felt like she wanted to do it
05:26to make
05:27herself feel better too. Like come on just give me a bit more. Give me a bit more. He was
05:30giving
05:30nothing. Yeah and because he was giving nothing she was like go on do me a favour. Like be my
05:35friend.
05:36And obviously she did waste a lot of time just for 25p. She should have just cut her losses and
05:40left
05:40it. But then I'm also like I get I get you girl. Like you just want to. But arguably the
05:44most valuable
05:45thing out of that was the fact that they figured out what a cassette was because he looked like a
05:49man who knew what that was. And to be fair that was quite difficult because I actually thought that
05:53cassette was an eight track player. So did I. That was clever. We all learned a lot didn't we from
05:58watching this talk. It's an educational programme what can we say. And she she potentially could have
06:04missed out although their risky business paid off in the end. They swerved last minute a little
06:10detour to get the rhubarb and custard sweets. Yeah I mean they were lucky with that weren't they
06:15because they were running towards the hover boat after that. And the other team didn't end up getting
06:19it in the end. The other team that got to the boat early they had the time to find the
06:23sweets. It
06:24wasn't a difficult item. A lot of the time they're just looking at how many items they've gotten
06:29rather than the value of it. Would you have risked it to get the sweets? Yeah risk it for a
06:33chocolate
06:33biscuit Angela. I've got a sweet tooth so 100% give me that rhubarb and custard now. I would have
06:38risked it as well. You would have. They had time. They had time. They had the time and they could
06:42and
06:42it wasn't a difficult find. So do you think the other team just sat back on the hovercraft
06:47you know. Well they were. Yeah. Go on Linda. Don't mince your words. They were what? Linda's holding
06:53back. Well they were already in the winning mood. They were relaxing. We've got this in the bag.
06:59Cocky some would say. Yeah exactly. You know and hoping against hope that they arrived late and
07:05missed the hovercraft. They nearly got their wish to be fair. Yes they did. Both PMs very very different
07:11approaches. What do you make of the management styles? Let's start first of all with Levi. So Levi was
07:17really relaxed. He was kind of like you can all do what you want. I'll leave it to you. Whatever
07:21you decide. You could say Levi's management style strategy was non-existent. Okay. Actually. Okay. I
07:28mean look Levi's a good northern boy and I'm a northern girl so you know I've got to support him.
07:33You've got to
07:33back him. Yeah. No it was non-existent wasn't it? So we're not backing him at all actually. I've got
07:40to be
07:41honest. Look he had no strategy. He had no time management. He didn't know how to split the
07:47teams and he didn't know what any of the items were. But he was on that phone like a dinger
07:52all
07:52morning. Look I didn't say he wasn't a trier. I didn't say he wasn't a trier. Kieran had unfinished
07:58business from Hong Kong so he was like straight in. I want this task. I want to be PM. I
08:03was somewhat
08:04surprised that they handed it to him. Well he did vote for himself as well didn't he? Always.
08:10You've got to back yourself. Yeah. I was surprised too just because he's been PM and it obviously was a
08:16disaster for everyone. Yeah. In that first episode. But maybe they just thought give him a chance to
08:21redeem himself. He's learned. He unlike Levi had a very clear strategy. The 3-1-2 approach.
08:30Hmm. Talk us through the 3-1-2 approach Linda and your experience of it. Well I don't quite
08:35understand the 3-1-2 approach. Thank God I thought it was just me. No I didn't and actually the
08:40truth is
08:40it was sort of sticking by but he went by the wayside anyway. He went by the wayside. I think
08:45you know when you're negotiating you should start low because you can always go up and I think it's
08:53quite good to be a bit charming and a bit nice. Pasha she went in telling the lady well we
09:00haven't got
09:00much time and could you and would you and we haven't got much time. I mean oh my god if
09:07if there
09:07was ever don't do that was it. Don't do that. Yeah okay so it's building the rapport isn't it and
09:13it's a
09:14bit of charm and it's a bit of cheek. And rapport is everything. You get far more being nice and
09:21being
09:21charming and having a nice manner than you do sort of being a bit more aggressive in a bit. You
09:26get
09:26more bees with honey than with vinegar. I always say that you get a lot more being nice than you
09:33do
09:33not being nice. Which is where I think possibly Ciaran slightly fell down in that kind of dogmatic
09:403-1-2 approach because I think sometimes it depends on the human that's in front of you and they
09:44quite
09:44like the game and the dance of a negotiation whereas it was a little too. I don't think there can
09:50ever be
09:51a dogmatic approach in negotiation. It's never these are the rules stick by it never leave it.
09:56You can't that's not that's not negotiation. Ultimately with Levi winning on a last minute
10:02sweet grab do we think that this task really is less about bargaining skills and more about
10:06actual time management Nikita? I think they need a bit of both but I think it was more time
10:11management. They actually the other team had the time to go and get the sweets but they wanted to just
10:15be back before them and wanted to be back early. I think if they had enough time go and get
10:21them
10:21the other team still managed to do it. Levi they grabbed them and went didn't they?
10:24Yeah. Now if Ciaran's team had got that extra item they still would have lost because of the
10:31Well the sup was the disaster. Well Linda don't get a start. I don't want to you know. Don't get
10:37a start.
10:37I don't want to soften it. No. It was a disaster. It was wasn't it? My book it was a
10:45double disaster
10:46because he had five hours left. So you know he had plenty of time. You're on the Isle of Wight
10:54so
10:54there's going to be a lot of surfboards. There's going to be a lot there. So with five hours to
10:59go
11:00and paying such a high price that was unforgivable. Before we meet our fired candidate Harry let's
11:07listen to what Lord Sugar has to say about the candidates redeeming themselves from the disaster
11:11of Hong Kong. Okay. Angela I'll say this. It wasn't one for the history books but at least this time
11:19they actually came back with some items. Compared to Hong Kong shambles this was a step in the right
11:26direction but the lesson remains the same. If a deal's bad walk away. Harry didn't do that with sup.
11:35It hit the bottom line and that's why sadly he's out.
11:42Linda is it that? Is knowing when to walk away is that a hard lesson that you have to learn
11:48through experience?
11:49You have to know what your bottom line is. What is your parameter? And if it doesn't meet that criteria
11:55you have to walk away and sometimes walking away shows your opponent that actually right I've drawn a line
12:02and sometimes it gives them the thing well let me come back. So you have you have to know when
12:07to walk
12:07away otherwise you can't be any good in business. Have you had any instances where you've had to walk
12:12away? I have. I have. I've had to walk away from two husbands. Don't film that. Was that easy or
12:22hard? Don't film it or film it. I don't care. It might make a laugh.
12:28Okay it is time now to welcome our latest candidate to become extinct. Let's remind ourselves of Harry's last moments
12:35in the boardroom.
12:37It seems regretful when I say that my gut feeling is telling me, Harry, you're fired.
12:45Thank you very much for the opportunity, Lord Sugar, £10 per day. It's been absolutely amazing.
12:50Okay. Good luck to you.
12:52Thank you so much.
12:55Sup, Harry?
12:57Thanks for having me.
12:58Sorry, I couldn't resist. Nice socks.
13:01Thank you so much. Yeah, I know I didn't actually mean to go in all pink today but I have.
13:04We are appreciative of it. Thank you.
13:07How did it compare watching that back versus Hong Kong?
13:11It was pretty painful, I'm not gonna lie. Like this one, it was a much higher stakes, less people and
13:17everyone just knew more how to do stuff.
13:20Yeah. So it was kind of scary.
13:21But you seem to know all of the items, which was a lot more than could be said for some
13:25of the others.
13:26Yeah, I knew what the rhubarb and custards were.
13:28Yeah.
13:28Because at school we used to be able to watch films and have sweets, so they always have them. Delicious.
13:33I love boozing, so one of them sounded kind of alcoholic because 75 centimetres.
13:39And then I also, what was the other one? Iguanodon. I've obviously heard of iguanas before and dinosaurs.
13:45Do you think though, knowing that many, because it was like bang, bang, bang, we know what we're out to
13:49get, gave your team confidence in the first instance?
13:53Yeah, I think so. Like, I think obviously, if you know what it is, and sometimes you're wrong, which obviously
13:58we were, but it really helps because it saves you so much time.
14:02Because at the beginning, you're kind of, you don't know where to go, so you have to drive somewhere, so
14:06you're just driving around aimlessly.
14:08You could be going completely the other side of the island to where the items you need to get.
14:11Yeah.
14:12And it just means that, you know, like, right, let's say we thought the sup was a fish, you ring
14:16up a fishmonger, you're like, oh, we'd like to get a sup, please, make sure it's got fins.
14:19And it obviously doesn't have fins and there's no sup, but it does help, I think, 100%.
14:24Also, you've got a pretty good idea. If you know what the items are, you've got a pretty good idea.
14:29The sweets are going to be a lot cheaper than a stand-up paddle pool, and that also helps.
14:34Absolutely. And I think to know which to prioritise and which one's going to cost you more.
14:38Let's get into some of the items, having watched the task back. The rhubarb and custard sweets.
14:43Okay, you backed Connor when he said, do you know what, there's not enough time, we're not going to chance
14:49it.
14:49Are you happy with that call?
14:52I'm now devastated about it, but I think it was the right call. I do. I think, like, looking back,
14:57obviously, we had time and we could have got them.
14:59So it wasn't technically the right call. But at the time, especially after Hong Kong, where, like, the girls were
15:04so late and that cost them so much.
15:07You don't want to be waving the hovercraft goodbye.
15:09Exactly. And I think the difference between Hong Kong and that one was the hovercraft leaves and it doesn't come
15:14back. But in Hong Kong, the Buddha's always going to be there.
15:19Night falls, you can still rise.
15:21He will be there in the morning.
15:23I do guess, coming from a man who had five more hours to negotiate on a sub, you were time.
15:30You really valued time, didn't you?
15:33You know, looking back on it, it looks really stupid. I agree. But time is so, like, you're so pushed
15:39for time.
15:39And you weren't. You weren't. To be fair, you were not pushed for time.
15:44Well, it's more like when you don't have enough items at that particular time. It's not like, OK, there's five
15:49hours left. We've got loads of time. Because that is a long time.
15:52What we also had, the issue, was we called so many people and none of them had them. So we
15:58were like, oh, when we find it, we panicked.
16:01Panicked a little bit. We panicked. I get that.
16:02And that was like, oh, my God, they've got it. We need to get it. And they were like, we've
16:05only got one left, which made us panic even more. Because it's like, oh, my God, what did the other
16:07team go get that one?
16:08Classic. We've only got one left.
16:10Yeah.
16:11They had a whole stock room with those puppies.
16:14That is so classic. Oh, they're selling fast. You better get here quickly.
16:19The dust gathering.
16:20They probably had like a factory down the back and making them. But yeah.
16:22Nikita, what would you have done in the instance of this up?
16:25I didn't know what it was first. So yeah, probably would have taken me ages as well to figure out
16:29what it was.
16:30But I would have walked away. I feel like that's a really good trick. I mean, I've always been taught
16:34it from like young.
16:35We've been on holiday, family holidays. And like, you know, you're trying to buy some souvenirs for your friends and
16:39family.
16:39And they're trying to up the price because they know you're not from there.
16:42And then you walk away and you come back. So I would have walked away, I think.
16:46To be honest, I didn't even know walking away was an option.
16:53And what did you make of Kieran and Lawrence's lads day out?
16:57To be honest, I absolutely love watching it back. I think it was it was hilarious.
17:00At the time, I didn't realise they got such good deals because the deals were quite good.
17:05I think personality and business goes a long way.
17:07And like they did really get on with all the people they were selling to.
17:11Like they were cracking up, all that sort of stuff. Fine.
17:13It wasn't Kieran's idea. He wanted to do things quick and fast and get out.
17:17But they got a good deal.
17:19And the charm gets you a long way.
17:21Absolutely. Yeah.
17:22Well, you're very charming, Harry.
17:24And that's why I was like quite disappointed, like watching the show back.
17:27Because I was like, I don't think like I come across really boring.
17:30You come across very serious.
17:31Yeah, very serious.
17:32I'm actually meeting you now. You're not that serious.
17:34I literally, I'm like the least serious person ever, but I literally look like the most boring.
17:37It does not come across like that.
17:40Lighten up on the show, but you're fired now.
17:43But yeah, it's too late.
17:44The advice has come too late.
17:47It's too late.
17:48It felt like we didn't see your impact very much in some of the shows.
17:52Yeah.
17:53And I know Lord Sugar said you're a very nice young man.
17:57Yeah.
17:58Which, you know, is a lovely thing to say, but does it feel like that's not conducive to good?
18:03Business?
18:04Well, niceness is good, but it doesn't get to win The Apprentice, does it?
18:09It's nice to be nice.
18:11I know because how nice I am when I'm interviewing people.
18:14But the thing is, it doesn't really, it's part of, it can be part of a business negotiation.
18:22It can be part of a tactic.
18:25Yeah.
18:25But in this case, niceness didn't get you anywhere.
18:28And we didn't even see it from you.
18:30You're so much more relaxed and fun now.
18:32I do think that a lot of stuff I did wasn't seen because it wasn't particularly dramatic.
18:38I was just getting it done.
18:40And like, I do, I, watching it back as a viewer, look like I did actually nothing for the first
18:46four episodes.
18:47Well, the statistics, Harry, speak for themselves, because you won five out of the eight tasks.
18:52Yeah.
18:52The only person still standing with that amount is Levi.
18:55What do you make of that?
18:56I think it's, it's tough because obviously if you, I think when you win more, which is not, I'm not
19:01saying it because of me, but when you win more, you have less one-on-one time with Lord Sugar.
19:06You're less under the cosh when it comes to like, if you're getting brought back every week, you know exactly
19:11how to...
19:12You've got more confidence.
19:13Yeah, you've got more confidence.
19:14Or you're less frightened in that moment.
19:16And you've also put your case across to Lord Sugar so many times.
19:19And you're like, you know what, I've survived that so I can survive it again.
19:21When I went in there, I was like, oh my God, I don't know what to say.
19:25And I actually, I didn't really back myself up that much.
19:28Like, I wish I said, like, I won last week at PM.
19:32Admittedly, a lot of people say that was because of Krishna.
19:34But it was like, I strongly believe like a good leader in business doesn't necessarily have to do it all
19:38themselves.
19:39They put people in the right place.
19:40They make people feel like they can be positive and impact.
19:44You've got to have a team and you've got to empower your team.
19:47Yeah, exactly.
19:48So do you think it was tough being brought back for the first time?
19:52I was terrified.
19:54Okay, whereas the other guys had been there before and were ready to go to battle for themselves.
19:58I think so.
19:58And like, they'd proved themselves as characters on the show.
20:01And like, I really hadn't.
20:03Like, I'd hardly been in the boardroom.
20:05I hadn't really had to speak in the boardroom.
20:08And like, I felt like I contributed quite a lot.
20:10But like, it kind of was lost in the noise.
20:13And which is sad for me because I, you know, I don't have much game for me apart from my
20:18character.
20:18So I was like, it was not going to come across.
20:20But Harry, that's a lot of the point of the show.
20:22I know.
20:23You start off with a large number of candidates and you come down to the final five.
20:27And it's gruelling, actually.
20:29It's hard.
20:29To go through.
20:30It's gruelling.
20:31And so when you get to the final five, even though I'm tough on them when I'm interviewing them.
20:36But it's really tough to go through all those weeks and get there.
20:40So don't beat yourself up too much, you know, looking back.
20:44Because it's a tough process.
20:46Lord Sugar admitted that it was not an easy decision.
20:49Did that soften the blow at all?
20:51Yeah, I think.
20:52No.
20:53Hard no.
20:55I was about to still laugh.
20:56Yeah, easy or not.
20:57I mean, no, it does.
20:58It's really nice to, like, to hear him say that.
21:01I think, like, I was up against Kieran and Connor, arguably, like, the two biggest characters on this show at
21:08the moment.
21:08And I knew that I was screwed as soon as I was in that bottom three.
21:12I was like, you know, this is the end.
21:14Obviously, I'd only just seen that he said that.
21:16So it's very sweet.
21:17And, like, it's nice to at least have something said about you.
21:20It's better than saying, what a horrible guy.
21:21Get him out.
21:22But, like, yeah.
21:23You had a nice firing, I think.
21:24Yeah, it was.
21:25And it was a dilemma for Lord Sugar.
21:27He did sort of say it was tough.
21:29It wasn't easy.
21:30Yeah, which is nice, obviously, yeah.
21:32Is it awkward when you all argue in the boardroom?
21:35It's like, it is.
21:36And also, because you're facing forward, you don't, like, look each other in the eye and say, like, I hate
21:40him.
21:42It's like being at school and you're, like, a naughty one.
21:44It's like, he did it.
21:47So it's like, when he puts out his finger to fire you, I basically went, like, cross-eyed.
21:50And, like, you know when you just see, like, three, like, or something.
21:52Did you think it wasn't you?
21:54Oh, no.
21:56Which one?
21:57And you're, like, dodging out the way.
21:58You're, like, it's not me.
21:58But anyway, yeah.
21:59It was you, babe.
22:00It was me.
22:01I'm so sorry.
22:02What were your highlights, Harry?
22:05I think, like, I felt so lucky to be on it because I'd applied two years before.
22:09So this was the third time I'd applied.
22:11Third time lucky.
22:11And I'd always got quite far, but not far enough.
22:13And this was, like, the time that I was on it.
22:15And I was like, this is insane.
22:16And I was like, you know what?
22:17This is the coolest experience ever.
22:19Going to Hong Kong, like, going to Egypt, meeting other candidates.
22:23Because they're, like, going to be friends for life.
22:24So I think, you know, not many people say they've been fired by Lord Sugar, which is not something
22:29probably to brag about.
22:30But, no, it was amazing.
22:31So lots of highlights for you.
22:32Well, Lord Sugar definitely had a highlight of his own.
22:35Shall we remind ourselves?
22:37I don't know you had Harry dressed as a chicken.
22:39I was dressed as a chicken.
22:40You were dressed as a chicken?
22:41I was Lord Sugar.
22:41It was a difficult time.
22:44I heard it was a very tight chicken.
22:47It was very tight, unfortunately, yes.
22:49Yeah.
22:49I think your nuggets were showing.
22:54Oh, that cracked me up.
22:56That was a very good line.
22:56It was very tight.
22:57Yeah, well done you for that.
22:58It was a good line.
22:59You became the go-to dress-up guy.
23:02The chicken and the flowers and everything.
23:04Was that voluntary or were you shoved?
23:07I can't quite remember.
23:08I think the chicken, sadly, was voluntary.
23:10Okay.
23:11But having seen how tight it was, I probably wouldn't have volunteered.
23:13Yeah.
23:13But I do think, I mean, I think eventually I was just the costume guy.
23:16So you've got to wear a costume and just sort of hand it straight to me.
23:18Yeah.
23:19And that was sort of it.
23:20Well, at least you had an identity.
23:21Yeah, well, yeah, at least I could do something in the time.
23:24It was just nice to be involved.
23:25I don't take myself too seriously,
23:27although throughout the whole season I look like I do.
23:29Yes.
23:29I, in my life, don't think I take myself too seriously.
23:32And something like that, I think, obviously, someone's got to do it.
23:35It helps the team.
23:36And it's just fun.
23:37Like, it gives you a bit more of a, you know, people are going to cut.
23:40Like, if you're selling something in a market
23:41and you're just being boring and being like,
23:42oh, hi, come over here.
23:43Or if you're dressed as a chicken and you start clucking,
23:45there's a big difference.
23:47The longevity of the show is the fact that actually it is a fun,
23:50it's a fun show.
23:51It's got a serious side to it.
23:53But it's amusing and it's fun and it's great TV.
23:57And that's why we've done 20 years.
24:00OK, we're moving on to Board Room Bangers,
24:04where our guests each choose a little song
24:06that sums up the week's task.
24:09Linda, what have you gone for?
24:10Well, Harry, watching you negotiate,
24:13there was only one song that came to mind,
24:16and that was...
24:21Could have done a demo.
24:23Yeah, I know, it would have been good.
24:25I thought it was going to be worse, to be honest.
24:26I'm going in.
24:28Dusty, not a pwiff of dust on that.
24:31Beautiful, Nikita.
24:34Well, my choice goes out to Kieran
24:36for being such a charmer, you know,
24:38such a good flirt as well.
24:41We can all learn something from him
24:42and I just liked his smooth ways,
24:44so I went for this.
24:45He's a smooth operator.
24:51Smooth operator.
24:53Nice.
24:54Good choices there.
24:55How do you feel about those?
24:56I was very happy.
24:57I thought it was going to come off a lot worse than me.
24:59No, you're safe.
25:00Kieran was unbelievable.
25:02Watching that back, how can he...
25:03Where's the confidence from?
25:04Honestly.
25:05Does that translate to back in the house?
25:07Yeah, yeah.
25:08OK.
25:08I mean, I love Kieran.
25:10He's one of the most confident people I've ever met in my life.
25:13Yeah, he says he's not a real estate...
25:14He said he's not a real estate...
25:15He's so a real estate agent.
25:17Oh, my God, he is so...
25:20Moving on to our next task, task nine.
25:23We're jumping from one fan favourite to another
25:24because it is time for TV selling.
25:27And as always, I've got an exclusive clip for us.
25:31Imagine a gym and your house.
25:33Dan looks very static.
25:35Let's get some movement.
25:36I'm going to get you to pop down on your knees
25:37and do a plank for me.
25:39We also have a timer on here,
25:41so I'm going to set a 30-second timer
25:42for you to hold your plank for 30 minutes.
25:4530 minutes?
25:47Strong core.
25:48Good work, Dan.
25:49Now, I'm going to join you as well
25:51for a little bit of Pilates on the same side.
25:53We've got zero coolers, lads.
25:55I need Dan to really get into it.
26:00To really get into it.
26:03Like, that looked...
26:04They were sweating buckets
26:05and they're two relatively fit-looking lads.
26:08I don't know if you're selling that
26:09to me sitting at home
26:10and me knickers watching telly.
26:11Well, zero callers might say it all.
26:13That's my favourite task.
26:15Yeah.
26:15I love watching it.
26:16I must say, it's mine.
26:17I was glad to have missed it.
26:18That was the one I wanted to do
26:19and I was like...
26:20What?
26:20You would have worn another suit or something.
26:22I wonder what costume you'd have worn in that.
26:24Yeah, I know.
26:25Full, like, lycra.
26:27Yeah.
26:29Nikita, you do live radio.
26:30Would you love this TV selling task?
26:32Oh, I'd love it.
26:32I think there's nothing better than being live.
26:34I think you get that buzz,
26:36but you've really got to think on your feet.
26:37You've got no time to mess around.
26:39If things go wrong, it goes wrong.
26:40You just laugh it off and carry on.
26:42So I think they need to be good
26:43at just getting on with it
26:44and just thinking quick on their feet.
26:46Yeah.
26:47Linda, this is always a really fun task.
26:51Exposing a little bit.
26:52What is this really testing?
26:54Well, I think that you've got to look at the item.
26:57It's got to have commercial appeal.
26:59That is the key, you know.
27:02So really and truthfully,
27:03pile it high, sell it cheap,
27:05lifestyle kind of things that you can sell loads of
27:07because they're 50 quid and not 350 quid.
27:10Yeah.
27:10Right.
27:10So I think it's important.
27:12But the most important thing
27:13before you've started your selling tactic,
27:15have I picked an item that the people are going to want
27:18and it's going to be easy for me to sell?
27:20Yeah.
27:21You know.
27:21And to demonstrate and to build up excitement.
27:25Once you've got that, demonstrate it.
27:26Show them why they need it,
27:27why they must get it.
27:28And of course, it's much easier
27:30if they've only got to lay out 50 quid, 60 quid.
27:32If you're starting with a high ticket price,
27:36it's a harder sell.
27:37Yeah.
27:37It's exciting, isn't it?
27:39We're galloping towards the end.
27:41Thank you so much for joining us.
27:43Harry, Nikita and Linda.
27:44Thanks so much for having us.
27:45Brilliant.
27:48Join us next time for more Unfinished Business
27:51on BBC Two, iPlayer or BBC Sounds
27:53straight after The Apprentice.
27:55We will return for our next task
27:57where it's bright lights, bold claims
27:59and absolutely nowhere to hide.
