00:00Hello, I'm Angela Scanlon and welcome to The Apprentice Unfinished Business, the show that chews over everything that Egypt had
00:07to offer, including the long-lost parsley. R.I.P.
00:11Coming up, I'll be having an exclusive chat with all three of our fired candidates.
00:16Lord Sugar lets us in on what he's really looking for now that we're halfway through the process.
00:20And I'll be joined by the Lord's aide, Tim Campbell, and radio presenter Chris Stark to discuss all the away
00:27day drama.
00:28At least no one signed up to a pyramid scheme. This is The Apprentice Unfinished Business.
00:37It's Tim and Chris, everybody.
00:39Hey, welcome.
00:41How are you?
00:42I'm very well, thank you very much. How are you?
00:44I'm alive and kicking.
00:45That's all we can hope for.
00:47Indeed, yeah.
00:47Right, task six. Everyone packed their bags, headed off to Egypt. Corporate away day.
00:53You know, fan favourite, OK?
00:55What an episode. A triple firing. Discuss.
00:59Well, I just can't wait to see the smoke off Lord Sugar's fingers, how quickly and rapid it happened.
01:04Did you know that was happening?
01:06No, listen.
01:06We never know what's actually really going to happen because the decision is ultimately Lord Sugar's around what does he
01:12want in terms of a business partner.
01:14Yes, you can make mistakes, but also, is it right for him in terms of the decision he's going to
01:19make around who he's going to work with afterwards?
01:21And we just couldn't stop looking around what was happening next.
01:25It was unbelievable.
01:26We were on the edge of our seats, let alone the viewers who were watching.
01:28Break neck speed.
01:30Yeah.
01:30It was the speed of it all.
01:31It was extraordinary.
01:32For me, that was one of my favourite episodes of The Apprentice ever.
01:36Because of that.
01:36Well, it had everything. Everything came in three. I mean, at one point, it was like a trilogy of MasterChef,
01:42Traitors with the Viper one and, dare I say, a bit of Titanic with the kayaks.
01:48Yeah, best of album.
01:49It was incredible. And the ending, I mean, I just didn't, I didn't see that come in.
01:55It was amazing.
01:55With the shock on your face, shall we relive the moment?
01:58And for that reason, I've got to tell you, Megan, you are fired.
02:05Megan, sit down. I'm not finished yet.
02:07Wow!
02:10Because, Carrington, I'm not satisfied with your explanations. You're also fired.
02:15And you, I don't like people who are negative, so you're fired also.
02:19No!
02:20So all three of you are fired.
02:25Oh, my...
02:28The speed of the second two...
02:31Oh, I couldn't believe that.
02:33Unbelievable scene.
02:33We're at the halfway mark, and I wanted to know from my best pal, we're getting matching tats, Lord Sugar,
02:40what he thinks and his advice for the candidates remaining.
02:44Angela, we've reached the halfway point, and let me tell you, the easy part is over.
02:52At this point in the process, I'm not looking for good performances.
02:56I'm looking for potential partners.
03:00From here on out, I'm looking for candidates who can step up and take responsibility, show proper business instincts, and
03:10most importantly, deliver results.
03:13No more excuses. It's time to prove you deserve to be here.
03:19There we go.
03:20I think what you realise, particularly when I remember being back in the house, is that...
03:2520 years ago.
03:2620 years ago.
03:2620 years ago.
03:27You're getting fresh as a daisy.
03:29Wow, I wish. Botox.
03:30Anyway, the reality is that you realise that the house gets very, very quiet, because when there's all the candidates
03:36in there, this year we've obviously had 20, when it's reduced now, you see more space.
03:41There's more room around the table.
03:42There's less queues for the toilets.
03:43It becomes very obvious that you're at the latter stage, and I think what that does is increase the pressure,
03:48because you realise how close you are now to the potential finishing line, so you've got more at stake now.
03:53So I think, actually, it increases the likelihood of mistakes, because they're almost at that final stage.
03:58So I think Lord Sugar's right.
03:59The pressure's on now.
04:00He's looking for somebody who wants to invest a quarter of a million pounds in.
04:03This isn't a joke.
04:04Let's get straight into Task 6 and the winning team.
04:06Team Alpha, led by Priesh, OK?
04:08Anyway, the epicentre of the chaos, it has to be said, the kitchen.
04:13What do we make of Priesh's management style?
04:16Well, I think it's energetic, it's enthusiastic, and it's slightly on the borderline of potentially collapsing, but he held it
04:28together.
04:28I think on tasks like this, you are thrown in at the deep end, literally, and you don't know what's
04:34going to happen.
04:34And for anybody to step up, I give them a big pat on the back, because it is a risk,
04:38as we said.
04:39But also, you have to respond in a positive way, regardless of what happens, regardless of how much pasta gets
04:46thrown in a bin, or how much spices get thrown in a curry, right?
04:49But I think for him, he was very enthusiastic about wanting to prove to Lord Sugar that he was the
04:54man for the task.
04:55I think he offers, I guess, what I might call soft power.
04:59Yeah.
04:59In the sense, he's not all bullshit and alpha about things.
05:03He goes about things, and he is busy, and there is an element of chaos with it.
05:07But there is an accountability that came with that bloat that we saw today that I really respected.
05:12In fact, this is the episode that really made me see him in a slightly different way.
05:16The way he took accountability for the mistakes that happened.
05:19And I didn't think it was performative.
05:21It didn't feel like he was doing it to almost, I don't know, give himself a moment that he could
05:27hide behind, almost, if he got to the boardroom.
05:29Because you saw how much it meant to him when he got through.
05:33I think it comes from a genuine place.
05:35And that made me really respect him when he did that apology and fronted up to them.
05:40And dare I say it, he probably did his whole team some favours by doing that.
05:45Some roles were slightly not quite as well executed, maybe.
05:50Shall we recap?
05:52We just, where's the rest of the parsley?
05:55The leaves.
05:55The leaves, yeah.
05:56Throwing them away.
05:57We need them.
05:58That's what we needed.
05:59I've thrown them away.
06:00What did you throw away?
06:01He threw the parsley away.
06:02I threw the leaves.
06:03I thought you meant, you said cut them off.
06:05Yeah, and put the stems away.
06:06Oh, you're kidding me.
06:07Where is it? In the bin?
06:08Yeah.
06:10I put them in the bin.
06:12See?
06:13Still smiling now, aren't they?
06:15Like, beautiful harmony.
06:17Listen, I think everybody needs a dose of charisma in their life.
06:19Because when you're faced with catastrophic features, they're like, oh, okay, yeah, we'll just move on.
06:23Well, almost quite out of character for her.
06:25I think she'd be like, I'm going to fire myself.
06:28Yeah.
06:28I think what you've got to realise with that is that these candidates aren't brought on for MasterChef, right?
06:34Like you mentioned.
06:35They're brought on to run an event.
06:37But what we're looking for is their adaptability in difficult scenarios.
06:42And Levi has never been in a kitchen.
06:44The second he started calling him Leaves, I knew it was God.
06:46It was in trouble.
06:47Oh, yeah.
06:48Leaves was it.
06:48Leaves was that was it.
06:49Leaves was the red flag.
06:50Green flag.
06:52Now, Karishma, Priesh, Levi, they battled it out in the kitchen.
06:55On the other side, we had Connor and Pasha and Lawrence having a whale of a time in the Egyptian
07:01desert.
07:04Tim, you were on tour with Team Alpha.
07:07It looked glorious.
07:09It was phenomenal.
07:10Being given the opportunity to go and find out the cultural history was really wholesome, I think, for some of
07:16these candidates.
07:17And they were entrusted by the local individuals to pass on that information to the representatives.
07:24Yes, Connor put his own spin on his variation of the vampire.
07:26There wasn't much history now.
07:27There wasn't a huge amount of history there.
07:29But you know what?
07:30The corporate client had fun.
07:32And yes, they were sold facts and fun.
07:35And they may have got a bit more of one or the other.
07:37But what they ultimately did, though, I think, which was impressive, they kept in mind that the customer is always
07:43right.
07:44And if they make the customer happy, they can actually get closer to their prize of winning.
07:48And I think that was a good thing.
07:50And I think, Pasha, to your point about maybe leaning a little bit more to the fun, but it was
07:54very intentional.
07:55She was like, it's a corporate away day.
07:57Ultimately, what we want to do is give people a great experience and some joy.
08:01Oh, yeah.
08:01Speaking through the buggies, I wanted to be on one.
08:04Yeah.
08:04And I just thought the energy was entirely different with them as well.
08:07And you saw it.
08:08They're going through.
08:09They're chanting.
08:10They're shouting.
08:11And I mean, you tell me, for the corporate away days, I think you're right, Angie, is the balance of
08:15fun to facts.
08:16Even if they thought they wanted that before they went there, when they were pitching for the money,
08:22I think the reality is when they're there and they're in the moment, they wanted fun.
08:26Yes.
08:27And I felt they delivered on that.
08:29Right.
08:29It is time now to welcome our first fired candidate, Carrington.
08:34But before we dig into the potatoes, let's rewind to when the chips were well and truly down.
08:40Guys, I'm really sorry.
08:41They sent back all the potatoes.
08:42All of them.
08:43It was really cold.
08:44It was a bit fruzy.
08:45In the middle, it was a little bit hard.
08:47Oh, my God.
08:50Welcome, Carrington.
08:55Thank you so much for being here.
08:56Now, we'll get to potatoes later on.
08:59How was it watching that task back?
09:02Do you know what?
09:02It was bittersweet because I got fired.
09:06Yes.
09:07But it was a good task, I think.
09:09The other candidates were full of praise for your cooking.
09:14Was that something you did a lot in the house?
09:16Because they seemed like absolutely zero question.
09:19I cooked a lot in the house.
09:21I think task-free.
09:23I made pasta.
09:24I had pasta at four in the morning before we ended up on task.
09:27Every single evening I was cooking.
09:28So I was a bit confused when my food came a bit off key.
09:31But yeah.
09:33Yeah.
09:33And did having the full team backing, you would imagine that kind of, you know, lifts you?
09:39Or did it actually add to pressure the assumption that you could nail that?
09:44I think I had a bit of bravado.
09:46I thought I was going to do a good job.
09:48So I was like, yeah, I'm chill.
09:49I think Rofina's like, do you need help?
09:51I was like, no, I don't need no help.
09:53Like, I've got this on my own.
09:54Trust me.
09:55I think the issue was that the PM team were two hours late and the corporate clients were not impressed.
10:04Their bums were wet.
10:05Their clothes were a bit soft.
10:06Like, they were not happy.
10:07They were absolutely raging.
10:09So did you not start the potatoes?
10:11Because this was what they kept saying is that if they were going to be late, then surely the things
10:15would have been over.
10:16Yeah, the maths is hard to math.
10:18I felt like that was a bit of a redundant point because if you're two hours late, I'm not going
10:22to leave the stove on.
10:23Like, you would turn it off, right?
10:25And it was triple cooked potatoes.
10:27I cooked it one, two, three.
10:29Did you though?
10:30The third one.
10:32Hey.
10:35The third cook wasn't a substantial enough cook, evidently.
10:40So I think because they were two hours late, we put a pause on all the cooking.
10:43And when they came back, I was trying to do it really quickly so the corporate client were happy.
10:49We didn't get any refunds.
10:50So I rushed my job.
10:51And essentially, that was where it all went left.
10:55You got nailed for it, obviously.
10:57Kieran also presented, you know, bland fish.
11:03Definitely subpar.
11:05Should he have been pulled up more on that?
11:06Do you know what?
11:07I don't think Kieran should have been pulled up on it because he did a great negotiation.
11:11And that's why I think I went wrong.
11:13And I think even Baroness Brady said that I didn't do anything else substantial on the task to have a
11:19saving grace.
11:20And the reason being because I thought I was going to make a great dish.
11:24So I didn't think I need to do, like, the bells and whistles.
11:26My potatoes are going to be unbelievable.
11:28I thought, I've got this in the bag.
11:31Like, make the potatoes, Lord Sugar, love it.
11:33Done.
11:34Yeah.
11:34Yeah.
11:34From the outside, Rothen looked like she was running a tight ship.
11:39But she was a sub-team leader and the fish was an issue, as were the potatoes.
11:45She was saved, obviously, by her glorious dessert.
11:48But that's quite tricky when, you know, the stuff that ultimately took you down was on her watch.
11:54It's quite hard because Rothen would have been responsible for whatever the output was.
11:58But I think the challenge is, as you've rightly identified, you were so confident.
12:02And we loved your confidence throughout the whole of the series, right?
12:06It was one of the things that was really shying about who you are as a person.
12:10As well as the facial expressions.
12:12Her face totally.
12:13This was a real episode for those as well.
12:15Oh, I was like this.
12:17It was the face palm emoji in real life, right?
12:20Yeah.
12:20In real life.
12:21But I think the thing, when you put all of your proverbial eggs in the potato basket
12:25and they don't come back to root, it's sometimes difficult to leave yourself with no room for manoeuvre, right?
12:31But, Tim, you know how we talked about how Priya sort of just owns that mistake?
12:35Yes.
12:35I felt you did as well.
12:37I felt your face when you saw, when they brought back and were like, sorry, you know, none of them.
12:42I could see how much it hurt you.
12:45You know, you really cared.
12:47And so I guess you're right.
12:49It's a shame that you got judged on a potato.
12:54It's funny how life pans out.
12:57I mean, how are you with potatoes now?
12:59Are you okay?
13:00I'll be honest with you, right?
13:01I can't make potatoes anymore.
13:03Not because I'm going to, like, make them raw.
13:06But because it's traumatic.
13:09You're triggered by them now.
13:10I'm honestly...
13:11I'm so sorry for your loss.
13:13It's absolutely devastating.
13:15There's a redemption story here somewhere.
13:17There's got to be.
13:17Along the line.
13:18Do you think so?
13:19Yeah, I reckon you start a chip business or something like that.
13:21No, no.
13:22No, too soon.
13:23No, yeah, I need to heal a little bit more.
13:25Too soon.
13:25Too soon.
13:25Yeah, healing.
13:27Triple firing, Carrington.
13:30Still not well.
13:30Did it come as a shock to you or could you kind of feel it?
13:35I think that because, like I said, I didn't have any other redeeming qualities on that task.
13:41So nothing could have held me in that moment.
13:44And so when Lord Sugar fired Megan and told her to, like, sit back down, I was like, oh, no.
13:49You could see a flash in your face where you're like, oh, no, I feel like this might be it.
13:55But I think because we all got fired, it hurt a little less, if that makes sense.
13:59And also halfway mark.
14:01You got to the halfway mark.
14:02That's a massive feat.
14:04And you got stuck into every task.
14:06You brought a lot of laughs and a lot of energy.
14:08What was your biggest lesson from the whole process?
14:13I would say that delegation is good.
14:17But also, if you've got an idea, do it yourself as well.
14:20I think in the Egypt task, we were talking about getting the final activity for a cheaper price.
14:26I said to Kieran, no, you could do it.
14:28You could do it.
14:29Why didn't I say, how about I leave this negotiation and start something else?
14:32But it's because, obviously, I thought I was chef of the year.
14:36Do you know what I mean?
14:37It was so lovely watching you.
14:39Honestly, absolutely lit up the screen and brought so many laughs.
14:42Best of luck with everything.
14:44Thanks for having me.
14:47OK, gang, let's bring in our next fired candidate,
14:50who sadly saw their Lord Sugar apprenticeship start to crack in the kiln.
14:54But before we bring her in, let's remind ourselves of Andrea getting stuck into the task.
14:59Oh.
15:01Ooh.
15:01Ooh, egg splatter here.
15:03Oh, wow.
15:04Handed a spending ban by Megan.
15:06Oh, wow.
15:07Andrea, that is amazing.
15:08Andrea.
15:10Done it all by myself.
15:11The rest of her team give pottery a spin.
15:14Straight from her ghost moment, Andrea.
15:17Andrea.
15:20Magical.
15:21We know you're a midwife, you're a successful letting agent,
15:24not to mention unbelievable at boiling eggs.
15:27Did you know that pottery was one of the many skills?
15:31That is a skill that I didn't recognise in myself.
15:33No, and I didn't get any help whatsoever.
15:35I could tell.
15:36Did it all on my own?
15:37Did you really?
15:38Yeah.
15:39You've got new hair.
15:41I have.
15:41And we're into it.
15:42Yeah.
15:43It's fabulous.
15:43Was this like trauma?
15:45You know, you get rid of a man, you change your hair.
15:47I didn't want anybody to recognise me, you know.
15:50I'd be that popular, you know, everybody would be going,
15:52hi, can I have the autograph?
15:53I'll take off of that, I'll take off of that.
15:54No, I'm OK.
15:55Nobody recognises me, I'm fine.
15:58Let's talk about the task, the firing.
16:03Ultimately, the suggestion was, or the thought was,
16:07that you were negative and bringing negativity
16:11or an air of it to the team.
16:13Yeah.
16:14I'm probably one of the most positive people that you'd meet.
16:17I'm really, I were really positive in the house.
16:19The other candidates knew about that.
16:21It's tactical.
16:22And the thing is, in business, I always think, you know,
16:25you can't keep going and say, we're going to do this,
16:28going to do that, going to point out the things that,
16:30well, this might not work or that might not work,
16:31you know, that sort of thing.
16:33And all I was doing was being loyal to project manager
16:36and she didn't want to do the pottery.
16:39But equally, if you watched it, I did say, you know,
16:44even though she'd said not to do it,
16:47the majority wanted to do it, so I would go along with it.
16:49There were many instances where over the course of the week,
16:52not just in this task, where I think Andrea was pointing out,
16:56had seen potential pitfalls being kind of perceived
17:01as you not going with people.
17:04Actually, weirdly, this episode's got me thinking,
17:06so thank you.
17:07Because I really relate to you,
17:09because I sometimes feel that I do that a fair bit.
17:12And where someone might say it's negative,
17:16I think of it as, well, you're the person that's spotting the iceberg
17:19before you hit it.
17:21You potentially save so many situations
17:23by actually offering another voice to conversations.
17:26Sometimes actually stepping up and saying those things,
17:29it's quite hard to do in a group dynamic, I find.
17:31Yeah, and I mean, the pottery might not have gone down well.
17:34They might have absolutely hated it.
17:35We got it all over his clothes.
17:37You know, like, they might have been like,
17:38we didn't want to do this, and, you know, I mean,
17:40and I've made the point of, should we do it, should we not?
17:43Have a think about it, it's going to cost us,
17:45could we put a free event on?
17:46Also, I'm thinking about outside the box.
17:48They took the easy route.
17:50Yeah.
17:50They didn't want to put the effort in to do an activity.
17:53I think the good thing is that you voiced your concerns,
17:56but you then threw yourself 100% in the task anyway.
17:59I did, yeah.
17:59It's not like you stood back and then didn't do anything,
18:01and that would have been negative.
18:03Yeah, yeah.
18:03But I do think it was so palpable, that loyalty,
18:07and everyone was kind of getting whipped up
18:09in the idea of the pottery for obvious reasons.
18:11It looked like a lot of fun.
18:13But you were saying,
18:14Megan has explicitly said not to do this.
18:18Megan is the PM.
18:19Like, I'm loyal to our leader.
18:22And that loyalty, I feel, was actually not rewarded at all.
18:26No, I spoke of like a true boss.
18:27And that's the thing.
18:28When you run your own business,
18:29you expect people to follow your direction.
18:32Yeah.
18:32And it's quite bold to all go against that.
18:35100%.
18:35Tim, backing your PM in business,
18:39you know, when is it right to just blindly follow
18:43and when is it right to challenge?
18:45I think it's never right to do either blindly.
18:47I am very much of the old school way,
18:49is that if you are employed by somebody
18:51and they've given you a direction,
18:53you should follow that.
18:55However, the only caveat is that
18:57if there's something that is going against your values,
18:59health and safety or whatever,
19:01you should put your challenge forward.
19:02But don't just leave it there.
19:04Come up with a solution that mitigates
19:07for the risk that you identify.
19:08Loads of people are great, aren't they?
19:10Like, spotting what's wrong with stuff.
19:11But where the real skill is,
19:13I think, in an entrepreneur,
19:14a business owner, a leader,
19:16is saying something's wrong,
19:17but here's a better suggestion.
19:20Being the last to go in the boardroom,
19:22did you think, OK, two down,
19:25I've just about survived this?
19:27No, not at all.
19:29I knew how many people were left in the process
19:32and they'd only had a couple,
19:34I think, or one double fire-ins.
19:37We'd got to get, you know, shut us on.
19:41And...
19:41I lost you.
19:42Yeah!
19:43That's great.
19:44Sweep them out, just sweep them out.
19:45We're halfway through the process, week six.
19:48Now is the time to let's...
19:50Let rip.
19:51Yeah.
19:51But three!
19:53Three.
19:54I wouldn't...
19:54But Lord Sugar must have thought
19:56that we needed to go.
19:58Yeah.
19:58And as Dan said on the end,
19:59thank you, Dan,
20:01we're getting rid of some of the dead weight.
20:03Thank you very much.
20:06Dan was a very good friend of mine in the house.
20:08There was a past tense there,
20:09did you know that?
20:09Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:10Oh, was it?
20:12Nicely spotted.
20:15Apart from your historic friendship with Dan,
20:18any highlights in the process?
20:21The highlight for me,
20:23and you'll see from my face
20:24when you've watched the first episode,
20:26is sitting in front of Tim,
20:28Baroness Brady and Lord Sugar.
20:29And I wanted to go to Lord Sugar.
20:31Hi, please, hi!
20:33Because I've watched every single episode
20:35for 19 years.
20:37And I thought, he knows me.
20:40Why is he not looking at me like,
20:42hi, it's Andrea.
20:44Yeah, and I was...
20:46My legs were shaking under the table.
20:48It were just...
20:50I was just absolutely in awe.
20:52It were amazing.
20:53Well, listen,
20:53it's been an absolute joy to watch you.
20:55Thank you so much, Andrea.
20:56Oh, thank you.
20:57Cheers, and best of luck with everything.
20:59Thanks for having me.
20:59Well done, well done.
20:59Brilliant.
21:03Now, I have said the fired candidates
21:05are like buses, aren't they?
21:06You wait for one
21:07and then three come along
21:08at the same time.
21:09So it is time now
21:10to meet our third
21:11and final candidate,
21:12Megan.
21:13But first,
21:13let's revisit the moment
21:15that she decided
21:15conversation was on the menu,
21:17not just service.
21:19Oh, yeah.
21:21Dipping into the party...
21:24Megan.
21:25Hi, and would it be possible
21:26it's just that we've got
21:27quite a few that haven't eaten
21:29and whilst Megan's fabulous,
21:31she's spending quite a lot
21:32of time of chatting.
21:33And we've got a bit of crass
21:34on the top
21:34and a bit of edible flowers
21:35just to match my alphabet.
21:38So it would be possible
21:38to get the food out
21:39a little bit quicker?
21:40No worries.
21:40She's a social butterfly.
21:41She loves...
21:42Fabulous. Thank you so much.
21:43I'll grab her.
21:43She'll be out of your hair.
21:47Megan!
21:48The social butterfly
21:49has landed.
21:51Oh, having a ball there
21:53out front.
21:53Is that just you
21:54and your elements?
21:55Yeah, that's definitely me.
21:57I think when my family
21:57and friends were watching that,
21:59they just thought,
22:00that is just so me.
22:01That's her.
22:02Where does this week's task
22:04live in your memory?
22:06PM?
22:07Yeah.
22:07And essentially fired
22:09for over-promising
22:10and under-delivering,
22:13really,
22:13but what did you think
22:14of your performance?
22:16So I have done
22:17quite a lot of events
22:18in the past.
22:1925.
22:1925.
22:20Be specific.
22:22Be specific.
22:22On paper,
22:23this is the perfect
22:24task for me,
22:25but what I usually do
22:27is I work with brands
22:28and they're like
22:29makeup brands,
22:29beauty brands,
22:30and it's a lot of influencers,
22:31so it's a lot of fun events.
22:33This was very corporate for me,
22:34and if I had taken
22:37influencers on this trip,
22:38they would have absolutely loved...
22:40This would have been
22:40an amazing trip for them,
22:41and I think the clientele...
22:43Can't push it
22:43that it's the clientele's fault,
22:44because obviously
22:45we did our end
22:46of the bargain,
22:47but it was just
22:48a different event for me.
22:49I like this.
22:50Blame the clients.
22:51No one's done this yet.
22:53Why not?
22:54That's a new angle.
22:55Come on.
22:56New angle.
22:57Do you think the suggestion
23:00or the promise of luxury,
23:02or even maybe just
23:03the mention of luxury,
23:05and then hitting
23:06at a more mid-range
23:08might have been confusing
23:09for them?
23:10I get why it would have
23:11been a bit confusing.
23:12I think I really didn't
23:13want to say luxury.
23:14I've watched a show before,
23:15and I know when people
23:16say the word luxury,
23:18it sets expectations
23:19very high,
23:20but also I had to
23:21kind of use that word
23:22because it was
23:23a luxury client.
23:24I couldn't not use
23:25that word for them,
23:26so it was really difficult.
23:28I think it's a challenge.
23:29People face this
23:30in business all the time.
23:31You have to rightly,
23:33in a sales negotiation,
23:34anchor somebody
23:35at a high price,
23:36but when you get
23:37to the price
23:37where they've settled
23:38on an agreement,
23:39you have to be
23:40very realistic
23:41of what the expectations are,
23:43and I think that's
23:43the challenge.
23:44The expectations
23:44were relatively high,
23:46and then the service
23:47at the end
23:48wasn't meeting,
23:49that was it.
23:50It was relatively low,
23:51I would say.
23:51I was trying to be nice.
23:55You were absolutely
23:56adamant
23:57that the pottery
23:58was a no-go,
23:59and yes,
24:01pottery.
24:01Yeah.
24:02We had.
24:03So, obviously,
24:04I think if the kitchen
24:05went well
24:06and it all ran smoothly,
24:08I would have been annoyed
24:08if we did the pottery,
24:09just because that could have been
24:11the breaking point
24:12of us maybe losing the task,
24:14that bit of extra money,
24:16but because the kitchen
24:17didn't go well,
24:18I am,
24:19I know it sounds bad,
24:20but I am glad
24:20that Kieran did go
24:21with it in the end now
24:22because it went so bad,
24:24they needed something
24:25that lifted them up
24:26at the end,
24:26and that's what I've always
24:27tried to do with my events.
24:28I always want to make sure
24:29that they go home
24:30and have a good time,
24:31and if they went home
24:33after the food,
24:34they wouldn't have,
24:35maybe it would have
24:35gotten more of a refund,
24:36I don't know.
24:36Well, that's great.
24:37It's so good to hear you say that
24:38because that's so gracious,
24:39and also,
24:41I think, weirdly,
24:42in this process,
24:43it sometimes seems,
24:44as a viewer,
24:45that it's hard for people
24:46to stand up and go,
24:47I got it wrong,
24:50and especially
24:50if it's to someone else's credit
24:53in Kieran in this instance.
24:55So, fair play to you
24:56for saying that, actually.
24:57But you're here.
25:00Yeah, maybe I've got,
25:01maybe that's,
25:03you're right.
25:04What lessons have been learned?
25:07When you got fired,
25:08you were the first to go.
25:11Did you sense
25:12that he was going to go rogue?
25:14So, when I got fired,
25:15I kind of seen it coming
25:16because I didn't make a profit,
25:18I was the PM,
25:19so I kind of knew
25:19it was coming.
25:20But when he tells me
25:21to sit back down,
25:24because I've never been fired
25:25by a little chugger before,
25:26I thought he was going to,
25:26like, sit me down
25:27and be like,
25:28here's some home truce.
25:29Like, you need to do this,
25:30you need to do that.
25:31I didn't realise
25:32he was going to say,
25:33you're fired, you're fired.
25:34I was just so shocked
25:35at the time.
25:35You've got, like,
25:36a little feedback session.
25:37Yeah.
25:38A bit that we don't
25:39normally see, you mean.
25:40Yeah, like,
25:40it wouldn't be aired,
25:41it'd just be, like,
25:42off TV, yeah.
25:44You made it halfway.
25:45Did you make any
25:46close bonds in the process?
25:47Yes.
25:48I've actually made
25:49a best friend from it,
25:50Pasha, yeah.
25:51I'm really close to Pasha.
25:53She was,
25:53we didn't do many tasks
25:54together, actually.
25:55We kept quite separate.
25:57But, yeah,
25:58we're really good friends
25:59from it now.
25:59And you also brought
26:00a little, I mean,
26:01it's not like Desert Island,
26:02so you can bring
26:03some stuff into the house.
26:05And you brought in
26:05something that was
26:06quite well appreciated.
26:08Yeah, so I actually
26:09brought in, like,
26:10a streaming set
26:11for the cinema room
26:12that we had.
26:13And I actually think
26:14people might have been
26:15more upset that
26:16that was going
26:16than when I was going.
26:18Yeah, because I had to
26:19bring it back with me.
26:20So, yeah,
26:21I don't know what
26:21they were more upset about.
26:22Sorry, I'm taking
26:22my streaming set with me.
26:25Come back!
26:26It was good, though.
26:27We had a few
26:27karaoke nights of that.
26:28It was good, yeah.
26:29Did you not try
26:30and almost suggest
26:32to other people
26:32that they can't
26:33bring you back
26:33because that would happen?
26:34I mean, I could have
26:35at the time.
26:35I should have done that, yeah.
26:38OK, Egypt is in the past.
26:39It is time to move on
26:40to Task 7, gang.
26:42And next time,
26:42the candidates will be
26:43trading strategy
26:44for stamina
26:45and facing a gamified
26:47fitness challenge.
26:48Here's an exclusive peek
26:49to get you ready
26:50for the action.
26:52I personally feel like
26:53it sounds like
26:54you've got a little bit
26:54more gaming experience.
26:55I know it's not exactly this.
26:56I don't have a gaming experience.
26:58Just because I've played a game
26:59doesn't mean I'm a gamer.
27:01It's still a lot more
27:01than what I have done.
27:03You've baked some bread.
27:03I wouldn't call you
27:04Mr Kipling.
27:05Yeah, but, OK, Rajan,
27:06there's actually no need for that.
27:08I'm not a gamer.
27:09OK, look, I'm just going to say to you,
27:10I do feel like
27:11I understand you're getting frustrated.
27:14All I'm asking is
27:15this isn't my area either,
27:16but we're all trying.
27:17Absolutely.
27:17We need your input.
27:21Good.
27:21Well, that's going to go well.
27:24That's quite explosive, isn't it?
27:26Wait till you see.
27:27Wait till you see.
27:28Mr Kipling, hey.
27:29Tim, give us a little teaser.
27:30I know you're dying to speak.
27:33Your face is saying things
27:35that you can't.
27:37I can't let out
27:38what the joy
27:39you're going to see.
27:40But I think
27:41one of the things
27:42that we always
27:42are cognisant with Lord Sugar
27:44is always looking
27:45to see how business develops.
27:46And one of his big things
27:48is technology.
27:49So bringing the
27:50established industry
27:51of fitness
27:51together with technology
27:53is what is at the heart
27:54of this task.
27:55And the interpretation
27:57is very interesting
27:58from the candidates.
27:59The interpretation
28:00is very interesting.
28:03That is it, everybody.
28:04Thank you so much.
28:05Chris, Tim, Megan.
28:08Brilliant.
28:11We have come to the end
28:12of another task.
28:14Come back next time
28:15for more Unfinished Business
28:16on BBC Two,
28:17iPlayer or BBC Sounds
28:19straight after The Apprentice
28:20where our candidates
28:21will be powering up,
28:23dodging obstacles
28:23and trying to avoid
28:25game over.
28:26I'm Angela Scanlon.
28:27Goodbye.
