00:10A presto.
00:10Do not feel constrained by the tech.
00:13The moment that we can free ourselves from those boundaries,
00:16then we can really go wild.
00:23So the folks here at Avalanche Studios have developed their biggest game engine yet,
00:27called the Apex.
00:28It can handle pretty much anything that you want to throw at it.
00:31Crazy physics, dynamic weather patterns, brand new terrain.
00:35You name it, it covers it, it handles it all at the same time.
00:39It will literally blow your mind,
00:41and I got a chance to sit down with the folks here in order to find out how it all
00:44works.
00:45Well, it's called the Apex engine,
00:47and it's named on the fact that Apex is the pinnacle or peak,
00:51and, you know, Avalanches many times start at that point,
00:53but that's also where we want to be with our technologies at the top.
00:56You would definitely not be able to make this game without the Apex engine.
01:00We want to provide stunning landscapes,
01:03extreme weather simulation, enhanced physics,
01:06crazy gameplay opportunities.
01:07We put those things all together,
01:09and we felt it was best for us to create something from scratch
01:11that, you know, we have all our experience making.
01:13Fifteen years of working with the Just Cause series has led up to this moment
01:18where the world is bigger, brighter, and more beautiful than ever.
01:22The weather system, the environment.
01:24It would not be possible without this incredible engine.
01:27We basically never heard the word no.
01:30And that was a really big deal for us.
01:32It really unlocked our creativity there.
01:33So it allowed us to really go big in a way that we'd never been.
01:37It's really about, okay, now we have this extra space to work.
01:39Now we have this extra muscle to kind of put behind our features
01:43and put behind the game itself.
01:44We're not looking to reinvent the wheel.
01:46What we want to do is turn, you know, the bicycle wheel into a monster truck wheel.
01:50They will have the tornadoes and sandstorm and blizzards and everything right in their face,
01:57so they can't miss it.
01:58We wanted something that could really push our Apex engine to its limits.
02:02The entire experience will be much smoother than before.
02:05What we use in Just Cause 4 is a highly specialized version
02:07with all the extra weather effects and everything.
02:10The whole engine has been basically rebuilt from the ground up.
02:14It's a proper world building tool.
02:16The engine is the vehicle that allows us to make the game.
02:19If I was going to put a beating heart on anything,
02:21I would say it would be the developers,
02:23with not only their ideas but their ability to execute them.
02:26It incorporates things like artificial intelligence,
02:30dynamic spawning.
02:31Our rendering system is best in class
02:35when it comes to beautiful topographical landscapes.
02:37It really is amazing to see and kind of a pleasure to be involved in.
02:42A big thing about Just Cause 4 is physics and destruction.
02:46I mean, for me, it's all destruction.
02:49It's all destruction.
02:50That's all I want to do the whole time.
02:51It's like, how?
02:52What can I string together to get the biggest explosion?
02:55Oh, really? Oh my God.
02:57So Just Cause 4 will make you terribly happy.
02:59It's all about enhanced destruction, stunning visuals, extreme weather,
03:04all these things that we couldn't do before.
03:05New Apex Engine has given us an opportunity to work with terrain
03:09in a way that we haven't been able to do before.
03:12In terms of sculpting the world,
03:14the Apex Engine was built from the ground up
03:16with this idea that we wanted to create massive, huge, creative worlds.
03:20We also knew that we were making Just Cause.
03:23So everything that we have in terms of our toolset is unique
03:27because it all comes from the Apex Engine
03:29and it is all designed around making it the best possible world for Just Cause.
03:41Apex Engine

03:44Grazie a tutti.
