00:00Well, I'm pleased that we're going to be meeting the RMT on Monday to further discuss with them,
00:05hopefully to give them some reassurance around the voluntary nature of the proposal that obviously
00:10we've been talking to our trade unions about for quite some time. I hope that on the back of that
00:15they will call this industrial action off, which is unnecessary, not needed, and wealth disruptive
00:20will not be on the scale of the industrial action that we saw last September. So there will be
00:27service across the majority of lines. The details of that will come forward over the next few days.
00:32We haven't actually got into any detail around how this scheme would be put into practice. So
00:38that's why this industrial action is very premature and unnecessary. I hope the talks on Monday will
00:43be productive. We may well need to meet again, but I really urge the RMT to call off this industrial
00:48action. It's unnecessary. It's disruptive for our customers to whom I'd like to apologise in advance,
00:53and it's clearly not ideal for any of our colleagues who don't want to be really taking
00:57this industrial action. What we're asking the RMT to do is do the same working hours within four days
01:02instead of five. We've been talking to them and ASLEF about this. We think it's a fair proposal. As I
01:09say, it's be done on a voluntary basis so that we can see how it would work. And those drivers
01:15who want
01:15to do it are keen to do it. Those who don't want to do it, then they can carry on
01:18doing what they're doing
01:19today. So we think it's a fair proposal that will drive some efficiencies for us, and actually we
01:24think enhance work-life balance for them as well. But industrial action, there's never any winners, and I
01:30think it's very premature for the RMT to be doing this and totally unnecessary.
