TfL Chief Operating Officer Claire Mann apologises to Londoners for the major disruption during the Tube strike and urges the RMT union to resume talks. She says the union will not engage unless a shorter working week is agreed but insists a 3.4% pay rise is on the table and should be put to members. Report by Covellm. 00:00So I'd like to start off by apologising to all customers that would normally be using the Underground Network this week.
00:06Clearly this is a big impact to everybody in London and I'm really sorry that we find ourselves here.
00:11But I am urging the RMT to have more talks with us. We are open to more talks.
00:17We've discussed the possibility of talking. They're not interested in talking unless we agree to a less than a 35 hour week.
00:25So it's really important that we get back around the table and have more conversations.
00:28I'm urging them to put this offer to their members at 3.4% pay because we think that they have the right and opportunity to vote on whether that's acceptable to them.
