The streets were alive with the sound of music in Canberra today. The Braddon Busking Festival is now in its seventh year. Organisers and musicians say it's breathed joy and creativity into the city.

00:16Busk has brought their best melodies to the streets of Braddon, which were alive with sweet,
00:20soulful and sprightly sounds.
00:25It's free, it's accessible, it really livens up the street.
00:28There's a bit of a vibe that happens here and people love that.
00:32And it's just a nice relaxing day and you get to again just listen to brand new artists
00:37so you don't get to hear everywhere else.
00:43Musicians get a chance to test their performing chops in front of the ever-changing audiences
00:47and with any luck, get some spare change for their efforts.
00:51This young fella behind us has got a looping pedal and an electric violin.

00:55Today's winners of the Junior and Open categories get a shot at the national championships
