00:01I mean, you know, we were just talking about him
00:04maybe being one of the more underrated players in the NFL,
00:08but maybe he's not so underrated when you're talking in Buffalo there.
00:11But, Steve, this guy's an electric running back,
00:14and he's a dual threat back.
00:17Yeah, he didn't – they gave him only 13 carries last week,
00:20week one of the season.
00:21He's the defending NFL rushing champ,
00:23so they know he's got something under the hood.
00:25Their offensive line seems to be in good shape.
00:27But they were running against a defense that was really good.
00:31The Bills nicked him in the passing game,
00:32but they couldn't make much headway in the running game,
00:35and James Cook was a victim of that.
00:37I think you will probably see them try to do that a little bit more tonight,
00:40no question about it.
00:41We have conjectured this offseason with Joe Brady taking over as head coach
00:45that maybe Joe would start to throw the football a little bit more to James Cook
00:50rather than just hand it to him.
00:52They were 50-50 run pass last year.
00:54Their run pass ratio overall in the regular season.
00:58I don't know that that's going to remain the same.
01:01We think James Cook, he had over 300 touches last year, 300 carries,
01:07and we were thinking maybe if he gets that many this year,
01:11there'll probably be a larger percentage of catches, receptions,
01:15rather than just handoffs.
01:16So that didn't seem to be the case last week, only 13 handoffs to him,
01:20and he didn't have that many receptions.
01:22And so I think they really need to get him involved more.
01:25That would be one of the things you would change.
01:27But I think a little bit of that was the Houston defense
01:29and the way they dictated the pace
01:31and the way the Bills wanted to attack the Texans.
01:35And so once the Bills, I think, found out they could block up the Texans' front,
01:40they put the game in Josh's hands and he came through for them.
01:45This offensive line, is this one of the better units, in your opinion,
01:49that he has had since he's been there in Buffalo?
01:51Do you believe that this is a group that can really push people,
01:56dominate the line of scrimmage?
01:59Well, it's the same group he's had for three years.
02:01They have been largely untouched up until the left guard left this year.
02:06David Edwards left and went to the Houston – where did he go?
02:11I can't remember.
02:11David Edwards went to the New Orleans Saints this offseason.
02:16And the left guard, Alec Anderson, who was the guy that was right behind Edwards anyway,
02:20had a competition in training camp and won the job.
02:24So it's almost the same five guys on the offensive line as it has been for the last two or
02:28three years.
02:29And they have been largely healthy as well, which has been a huge boost.
02:32So this is the same offensive line that blocked for the MVP two years ago,
02:38blocked for the leading rusher last year,
02:39and now begin the year here in 2026 with Josh Allen and James Cook still intact.
02:44So they are a formidable group.
02:46They like their tackles a lot.
02:48They re-signed Connor McGovern, the center, who came over four years ago from Dallas in free agency.
02:56He re-signed with the club.
02:58They like him as well.
02:59Osiris Torrance, the right guard, just signed an extension.
03:02Yeah, they like this offensive line, no question about it.
03:05Elite?
03:06Yeah, maybe.
03:07But the guy that's taken snaps from that offensive line is elite,
03:11and he makes them better as well.
03:13So they've got a lot going on on the offensive side of the ball.
03:15And this offensive line is a big part of it.
